GE60 2OE- Playing games Battery vs. Plugged In mode

Hi Guys,
This is the first time i bought an msi "Gaming" notebook and I am very disappointed.
When I try to play games on the battery (without charging it, also using high performance/gaming windows settings) GPU is running like my 10 years old gpu card,
when i plugged the pc in everything is ok. games are smooth but this is a laptop not a ps3 or xBox, it should be portable right?
all the information on the web says that it is related with the bios factory settings according to battery or  plugged in usage (mhz - ghz things),
So is there any way to play my games (even if it lasts 10 minutes) without plugging in the notebook ? Any solutions? I'll be very grateful, Thanks
Greetings and sorry for my English
GPU: nVidia gtx765m

If you buy a notebook fully expecting to 'game on the go', I think you're a bit mistaken.
These things are heavy, and while they can last a while on the battery if you're not playing a game, they aren't meant to be playing a game while not plugged in. They don't have the battery capacity to do that. 180 WATTS is what the notebooks draw while gaming. You have a 93 Watt-Hour battery. If the notebook gamed at full capacity, you'd be lucky to get 30 minutes of game time. Your battery would also be toast in about 6 months if you did that frequently (LION batteries aren't meant to be discharged that fast consistently).

How can i fix it? Do i need to bring it to any apple center to have it replaced? or is there a quick fix to this problem?...

Keep iPhone on Wall Charger for 10 minutes, it may turn ON itself. If still OFF, keep on Wall Charger and Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can sometimes take about 20 seconds time of holding both buttons while on charger.

  • Have to keep plugging and unplugging charger to play games.

When playing games I have to keep plugging and unplugging charger because of lag. I plug it in 5-30min in it lags so i unplug it after that 1-5 min it lags so I have to replug in the charger. I even click on high performance I still have to do the same thing. I am using Toshiba L855-S5240.

My iPad battery getting low quickly when im playing games. What should i do ?

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • What would cause the original I Pad shut itself off while playing games or online? it is not a battery issue or time issue. When I turn it back on it goes to were I was  when I was online ,but have to start games over.

What would cause the original I Pad shut itself off while playing games or online? it is not a battery issue or time issue. When I turn it back on it goes to were I was  when I was online ,but have to start games over.

The original iPad has a slow processor and only 256 MB of memory so it often runs into low-memory failures.
Double click the home button and dismiss all of the recents - I do that weekly.
Then reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider - I also do that weekly.
Both seem to help to reduce the low-memory faults that occur.

  • Battery slowly drains when playing games

When I am playing games on my Macbook Pro (15', 2.4GHz) or performing other intensive tasks, my battery slowly drains. This is especially bad when bootcamped into XP at which point it will drain if I simply have the brightness of the screen up past half way. I was just playing Age of Empires 3 and upon quitting saw that my battery was at 13%. The laptop once shut off completely while I was playing Bioshock. Is this normal, and if not, how do I fix it?

It could be normal behavior. This article about running the MBP without the battery installed:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2332
implies that a high-demand process can draw power from BOTH the battery and the AC line:
This prevents the computer from shutting downif it demands more power than the A/C adaptor alone can provide.

  • Laptop lags when playing games.

When playing games and even after getting done the laptop lags. I have to keep plugging and unplugging the power cord for the laptop to not lag for example when playing a game with the power cord in it starts to lag after 5 min then i have to unplug it then it goes back to normal then 5 min later it starts to lag agian then I have to plug the power cord back in ect.  Using the I am using toshiba satellite l855-s5240.

  • Satellite A500-17X restarts while playing games

    Hello all,
I have had my toshiba satellite a500-17x for about two years, I bought it to play Starcraft and world of warcraft. Ever since i got it i have had a problem with it. While playing games it would suddenly restart the laptop. I contacted the customer support and had it taken back to see if they could find out what was wrong with it. They said it was fine and it must be the games software that was causing the problem. (I do not believe that this is the problem since i reinstalled all software and the problem persisted)
I felt that they were trying to bluff me with this answer. Either they did not do an indebt inspection to try to resolve the problem or I believed that the model itself was flawed.
Anyway I wanted to say that the laptop can sometimes play fine for hours but on other days it will crash multiple times.
I just want to point out something; my graphics card driver is up to date. My air vents are completely clear. The temperature is stable. I have put the power management to maximum. I play with a battery in and the laptop is plugged in. This has also happened from a cold start.
During the restart i am given no advanced warning. The laptop just turns off (no beeps, no blue screen) and restarts.
I have never posted here before and i would really appreciate your help.
I know this has been a problem in the past with this model as i have searched forums for solutions but I cant find one.
If you know of a solution I would be very grateful.
    Thanks

    Hi
Gaming issues are always very difficult themes because nobody can say exactly if its caused by game <-> GPU driver compatibility problems or notebook (hardware) issues.
You said you had this issue playing two games but does it happens playing other games or running other applications (no games)???
In your case I recommend checking some gaming forums about StarCraft and WoW.
Maybe you will find some more details about that.
At the other hand the unit supports an NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M graphic chip.
Some people said that nVIdia driver 8.16.11.8973 would run stable

  • Playing games with MacBook Pro 13"

I have a MBP 13" and sometimes i like to play some games on. When I do that, I like getting it with fully charged battery, play my games by using only battery (without power source connection), and when it gets about 15% of battery I just turn it OFF and put on charge again (until battery achieve 100%).
Is that the best way to have a long battery lifetime? Or can I play games with my MPB plugged on power source?
    Thanks

Macs have never been known to be good game machines.  PCs are a much better option in that regard.
When using the MBP with resource intensive CPU/GPU applications such as games, it is best to use AC power if it is available.  That will ensure that therte will be sufficient electrical power as may be required.
The more you use the battery, the more 'wear and tear' you will place on it and lessen the life span.  I use my MBP connected to the charger as much as possible BUT at least once per month I will use it just with the battery to about the 40% charge level and then reconnect to the charger.  For maximum battery life, such periodic discharging is required.

  • Laptop switching from AC to DC while playing games

Like the title says my laptop is switching from ac to dc while im playing games, its not doing it while im surfing the internet or watching a movie. It looks like the power jack is loose, but if it is it should be going back and fourth while im using it not just while im playing a game. If any of you are wondering I turned down the screen brightness when its unplugged. Right now its more annoying than anything.

from what i understand this is normal for the gt72, it uses both the battery and the power from wall in combination when plugged in to get more power. it is called "hybrid power".

    Hey SorhanDarkOps,
I'm sorry you're running into this sound issue. It sounds like you've done a good job troubleshooting already. Let me know which product number you have. You may be able to find it by pressing FN + ESC (if you used the HP Recovery partition to reinstall Windows). You can also find the product number on an HP label on the bottom of the computer (possibly inside the battery compartment).
Also, it would be helpful to know which IDT Audio driver version you have.
Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers > IDT > Properties > Driver tab > Driver version number
When you have a game open, minimize it and check to see which sound device is the default. To do that:
    1. Right-click on the Speaker icon in the System Tray
    2. Click Playback Devices
    3. Let me know which (Speakers & Headphones, Communication Headphoens, etc.) device has the green checkmark on it.
Do you get sound through headphones in games?

  • No volume when playing games.

I have iPad 2 v 4.3.5 OS. when I am playing games such as Angry Birds, I do not have any volume. can anyone help me with this. also it is not full game, just free app.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • After I downloaded the new version of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262, I can't seem to play games with my friends on Yahoo Messenger.

It could be a coincidence but when I upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262 I can't seem to play any games on Yahoo Messenger with my friends. I know when I updated for some reason I had to try 3 times before it took it. It shows it's updated. I'm wondering if I have to un-install and re-install it. Also, I never use Internet Explorer 8 but when I went in there to check I found a plug in check link there and it showed over there that Adobe Flash Player needed updating but it was an older version and not the one Foxfire had me update too. Now I'm really confused if this is causing a problem. I have never had to check Internet Explorer for plug ins before. Have always just updated in Foxfire since that's what I use. The Adobe Flash Player seems to play videos okay so not really sure if that's the issue or not. My Java plug-ins have been fine and have been updated awhile ago, so I know it's not that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Well, after hours of trying to figure it out I gave up and un-installed and re-installed that last verion of Adobe Flash Player and now it seems I can play games again in Messenger. Everything else had been fine just that. I can only figure it was because it was having a hard time updating the first time and took me 3 tries. So even though it said it was installed, apparently it wasn't done correctly.
Though when I couldn't figure out what was wrong at first I looked and checked to see all the things were enabled that were supposed to be and they were.
I even tried to go to the Adobe site and download the last version I had and couldn't find it. Kept coming up with the new version. Others said if you download a particular older version it may not have all the security features in it.
This really gets to be a bit much, especially when you're by yourself and have only a smattering of knowledge of technical things.
Thanks fore responding to my question.
