GE60 lagging
The PC works fine with almost everything. Old games like Star Wars Battlefront 2 works perfectly. However, other games like Magika lags. No FPS drop, just that the mouse and game take time to react to me moving the mouse. For eksampel, Dead Space 3 (lowest graphic settings) flows perfectly, but if I move the mouse, it takes nearly 1 second for the game to respond. Ths happens to almost every new-ish game. I am terrible at everything technical, so any solutons will have to be very newb friendly :P
Some new games don't lag, however, like SimCity, and I can run some games, like Minecraft, with some pretty big mods, like GSL shaders, which make it look pretty fabulous.
Thank you for any and all suggestions that might help
And yes, this happens both with the powerplug in and out of the PC.

do you play it on extended screen via HDMI?
also have you tried to lower in game details? too high resolutions and graphic options will cause the same lag
and do you use discrete card while this hapends? does the turbo button lights?
I get the same problem as the Topic Creator. I also have a Lenovo mouse, but it's a wireless mini keyboard mouse. The lag happens mostly in Windows 8 desktop mode. The cursor would stick and as I roll the ball to move it, it suddenly shoots all the way across the screen.
I don't know what a discreet card is either, but I am using my Notebook on an external HDMI display (LG LCD TV, not PC monitor).

GE60 2PL (Win 8.1 64 bit) too much lag and freezes
So I have been using my GE60 2PL for about 2 weeks and there is so much lag..
Even when I'm using only chrome, sometimes the laptop freezes or lag (like when dragging tabs or files, it lag..)
The laptop was running in high performance with charger connected (without battery..)
So I have tried defragment, virus check, and driver upates but there are still so much lag
I don't really know what the problem is and pretty hard to identify what might be causing it too.. because my internet connection is okay as well as I'm not playing some high-end games.. (temperature is also okay)
I need some advice or solution to this lag.. I can provide you more information if necessary
oh and while I was playing Dota 2 my laptop got force shutdown (because I was using without battery, charger connected then my electricity went out... ) I am curious how would force shut down would effect the laptop? Like what will it damage?
Thank youQuote

this should not cause damage
attach your battery then plug again your ac charger and see how goes.
don't play only on ac charger, battery is used as addiction power source in addiction to the ac brick -
Extreme lag and restarts itself (on GE60)
My GE60 has some issues..
So after I use my laptop for about few hours (3 - 4), not gaming, just using Skype and Internet Browser, it starts to get extreme laggy then a black screen appears. When I press Ctrl Alt Del, it won't respond. So I have waited for about 30 minutes, it sometimes shows "The logon process was unable to display security and logon options when ctrl alt delete was pressed" or it doesn't respond so I have to force shutdown. And by sometimes I mean this happens A LOT!! I have tried a lot of things. Defrag, Virus check, drive check (optimize), registry, netsh winsock reset, sfc /scannow (then applied fix), chkdsk /f...
However I just got this problem AGAIN
This time the message "The logon process was unable to display seucrity and logon options... " did not pop out but the system RESTARTED BY ITSELF
Seriously, why do I have this issue.. Its a newly bought laptop.. I have checked task manager and there was no process taking lots of memory. So I can't figure out what the problem really is.. Please help meI found the solution...
It wasn't a virus, a wrong update, or corrupted graphic driver...
It was a problem with hard drive. Not as physically.
So the problem was in Intel Rapid Storage Technology.
In there, if you look at performance tab, there is Link powermangement option.
I think that option makes the hard drive to sleep or something when inactive to save battery
but when I move my mouse or keyboard to on the laptop again, it doesn't respond and I have to force shutdown using power button
I think my hard drive is not compatible with that option so it is having problem every time in idle for a hour...
Solution: Disable Link powermanagement option in Intel Rapid Storage Technology
I hope it helped anyone facing the same problem -

Good evening Fellow Gamers and Adepts.
I come to you tonight with a serious doubt , which has rattled me for a while , and after some intense troubleshooting i have came up blank.
Here's the deal , as stated , i have a MSI GE60 2PE apache Pro
Now , playing cs go has been the bane of my existence, i am aware there are heating issues with this laptop , but those have been fixed by a Thermal repaste, a cooling pad and the backplate removed.
Now i have no more throttling of CPU , and GPU appears to handle fine aswell; the thing is i keep having MASSIVE lag spikes in CS:GO , and apparently they are being cause by CPU issues.
Image for clarification .
(Standart situation , notice the relative low fps for a old game)
imgur.com/cJ2Ly80
After a few seconds the following occurs
imgur.com/cJ2Ly80,27y1P5C,aq30R4r#1
Notice the fps drop and the CPU frequency percent alert in game
another shot of this in console so you can see the several occurrences
imgur.com/cJ2Ly80,27y1P5C,aq30R4r#2
now keep in mind that these are the lowest game settings, in Fullscreen windowed mode , if i even CONSIDER putting it on standart fullscreen i get unplayable jitterness and fps that range from 10 to 80 , all in a second.
Now , as i have stated i have fooled around and disabled speedstep in the bios , meaning that the cpu is always at 100%, seeing i have removed the backplate , throttling is not an issue as IXT (Intel extreme tuning) can attest.
note aswell the "active core count" spikes to 4/3 in the exact moments of the stutters, meaning that both problems should , in theory , be connected .

can ANYONE give me an ideia of whats going on ? i rather enjoy playing with games with friends , but this is driving me up the wall..
Lastest NVIDIA / Laptop drivers installed ; Bios Updated and EC firmware aswell.
Thank you for your time guys x) -

Recently, i have been getting brief lag spikes every 30-60 seconds while in game Dota 2. My ping and packet loss dramatically increase for a very short time, resulting in my character rubber banding for 3-4 seconds. This has only started happening since I got my new computer - msi ge60 2PE apache pro. Before I got this computer, I had been playing dota 2 on a macbook pro, with no problems at all. My internet speed is extremely good (I can stream on maximum quality with no pauses at all), and a pingtest reveals 0% packet loss, and excellent download/upload speed.
This problem has been occurring consistantly for at least the past 10 games, what on earth could be the problem?
Possibly a bad network adapter? My computer has a Killer e2200.
ANY help would be hugely appreciated!!Quote from: Green;110831
Is this lag spikes also occurring in League of Legends?
I have had multiple lag spikes with pings going from 70 to 1300 which is crazy. The laptop I have a is a MSi GT70 Dominator, which I had updated the wireless but this game is crazy lagging for me. My Guild Wars game does not lag as much as this.
There are many reasons which might cause the lag spikes issue.
Before you do any testing on the router, ISP or even game server, it's hard to tell what the problem is.
It would be much better if you can share more details on your situation and your system configurations.

My turbo doesn't work for games. MSI GE60 ONC
Hello everyone,
I got a problem with my GE60 onc.
I had problems with the internet and stupid ad pop ups, so I asked a friend if he could look at it.
He has a pc himself and knows a lot about all this kind of stuff. So he plugged in a portable drive where he had programs to clean his own pc with on there. He opened this anti junkware program and it was inside of the cmd. He fixed all the pop up ads and stuff, but now when I try to start up games the turbo button doesn't light up and my games run much slower. (Cube World, Dayz, Payday 2) And I don't know how to fix this...:( If someone knows how to fix it I would gladly appreciate it!
Thanks guys. What Windows version are you using? Did you install the Windows system on your own?
Can other quick launch buttons work properly?
- Try to do an EC reset by removing the battery and the AC adapter, then reattached them back on for a reboot.
*Share your EC version by looking into the BIOS menu.(Press Delete button after seeing MSI logo on the screen while powering on> Main> System Information)
When you say the game is running slower, do you mean there is game lag? or lower FPS? or you mean the frequency...?
Also did you try to update the graphics driver? What graphics version are you using? -
GE60 0ND - BSOD happening a lot
My GE60 0ND had to be RMA'd late november as it was powering on but nothing was functioning. After it came back i've had nothing but hdd issues, lag, crashes, firmware issues (again).
As of today and few days ago, I've noticed a lot more Blue Screens of Death.
The three BSOD I've suffered from are:
DPC Watchdog Violation
MEMEORY MANAGEMENT
IRQL_NO_LESS_NO_MORE (latest one)
Today I suffered back to back BSOD Memory then IRQL
I've done a few searches but not really understanding what some of the forums are sayingWhat LAN driver version it is? Maybe you can diagnose the problem starting with removing lan driver.

Month Owned MSI GE60 Apache Pro Fan Issues
Hi everyone,
I have had my MSI GE60 Apachce Pro 15" laptop for a little over a month now.
For the first month, I could barely hear the fans when leaving the laptop idle or using non-power hungry applications that do not involve gaming, such as browsing the web or watching videos. Now, however, the fan seems to always be running at a medium intensity, even when idle. As soon as I boot up the laptop, the fan is much more noisy than it used to be and stays that way.
The program HWinfo64 shows my CPU temperature at usually 41 degrees Celsius. Moreover, turning on the Cooler Blaster feature does not decrease the advertised 5-10% temperatures either. In fact, it increases the heat to around 42-43 degrees Celsius.
My desk is usually completely dust free, so I do not think dust is the issue here. I will have to open up the back to be completely sure, but I do not want to void my warranty for something as silly as cleaning it out (There is a void sticker right above one of the necessary screws to remove the back casing. I will contact MSI to inquire about this because I read that MSI will allow owners to remove this sticker in certain locations without voiding the warranty).
Could there be any other reason besides dust that could make my fans this noisy? Does anyone have suggestions on improving it? Thank you.Quote from: James D on 12-May-14, 09:11:18
Try to remove battery and hold power button for 5 sec.
I tried that a few times, but it did not work. The fan noise is becoming unbearable tbh. Considering selling it now :/ -
When I click on 2014 month view in calendar iPhone 5 s stucks, lagging. What is the problem I don't know????

There is a lag in typing in the addressbar since FF4
I'm using a plugin on my Mac called "Keyboard Maestro".
How I use it:
I have 2 Firefox windows open in one screen, side by side. I select an email address in window 1. I press the keyboard shortcut that activates keyboard Maestro.
Maestro then copies the e-mail address, hits Command+` to switch to window 2 of Firefox. It then hits Command+T for a new tab, and types in a URL. Behind the URL it then hits Command+V to paste the e-mail address, and then hits enter.
This allows me to select an e-mail address in window 1, do the keystroke, and immediately find this e-mail address on an admin page I use for work. (instead of copy, open website, paste, hit search).
Now the bit where it's typing the address URL (needs to be a new tab) is lagging a lot since Firefox 4! In Firefox 3, the typing was blitzing fast.
I tried the same keystroke in 2 windows of Safari: blitzing fast like Firefox 3.
I then tried opening Firefox 4 again: slow again. I then experimented by typing really fast (just gibberish, but as fast as my fingers could move), and I noticed: Firefox4 address bar can not keep up with my typing speed. So there's the error.
Typing the same speed in Safari and Firefox3? No problem, it keeps up.
I have 2 add ons running, Xmarks 3.9.7 and Gmail Favicon Notifier 3.10.2
I don't think it's my Mac, as the typing speed does not lag in Safari or Firefox 3.Hi,
I had also a lag while typing in the addressbar (or the searchbar btw) in Firefox and spent quite some time trying to figure out why.
I tried Firefox 5 beta, deleting the chronik, the cash etc...
until I tried to deactivate my addons one by one.
I have figured out that the addon "speed dial" was responsible for that lag.
Since I have deactivated it, everything works pretty much instantly.
Finally !

Text Input Field Jumps around or lags when inputting text but only with Firefox.
I normally will use Safari because even now while Firefox, there is a lag between what is typed and what appears on the screen. When I pull down a menu or try to add a bookmark, I have to click on the field at a certain time because the text field is moving side to side. I am unable to capture this effect and copy and paste below. Safari browser does not do this. Some of the sites require that I have Firefox or a more recent browser. I cannot run Google Chrome on my Mac because it is not Intel based. Thank you for your assistance.

The difference between how PV is calculated if lag or delay is used in scheduling
When scheduling tasks, it is possible to add lag from the predecessor (which is useful for an amount of time which must pass before the next task (paint drying, for example), or to add delay (task form\schedule\delay). Delay seems to be useful for
adding slack into your project in planning, as it is time that could pass before the next task, but doesn't necessarily have to.
First - do I have this assessment correct?
Second - does MSP calculate PV based upon when tasks appear in the schedule regardless of whether they are there due to lag or delay, or do tasks presented with delay assume that they will start straight away, without the delay?
An aside - the reason that I've been playing with this is because of a bug in the previous version of MSP where an EV graph could not be generated if EV was calculated using physical % complete. Has this been fixed in MSP 2013?
Thanks for your help!First, the lag (and not delay) in the task form is to be entered in the Predecessors/successors form and not the schedule form. The delay in the schedule form is the delay on an assignment, meaning the delay a resource has on a assignment. And indeed it
is not required but just an option given to the scheduler.
The PV (or
BCWS) is calculated based on this formula:
timephased baseline costs of the task up to the status date. The lag just implies that the task will occur later in the project, thus the PV will take into account the lag.
AS per the bug, I couldn't experience it, thus I'll let you or others folks give a feedback on it.
Hope this helps,
