  • How to enable Flash asecurity Settings programmatically

    Hi,
I am doing an application where I am converting Text to Speech sing google translator.
When i run the standalone swf or html it throws errors for enabling secury settings(local to network).
If I go to adobe security settings and give the location of the file its working fine.
But I do not want to do that  every time if a create a new  file.So can I add  it programatically in the Source code.
Is there a way to convert Text to Speech without using google translator so that i can check it offline.
    Thanks.

No, that would be security risk. This is a way of protecting user against malicious programmer so I don't believe there's an option for malicious programmer to disable it.
However, if you - as a developer, want to enable all your applications by default, you should ad your projects folder to the trusted locations. This way every *.swf file you run from this folder (and any of its child folders), will be considered trusted.
    1) run your *.swf
    2) rightclick for flashplayer context menu
    3) click Global settings
    4) click Advanced tab
    5) click Trusted Location Settings button
    6) click Add button
    7) click Add folder button
    There you go.

  • How to enable execute-disable bit and other hidden settings on Lenovo 3000 N200 model 0769!

2008-11-16: I have posted some more settings, scroll down to message 19 in this thread to read them.
    Hi,
Here's some good news for anyone with a Lenovo 3000 N200 model 0769, who is disappointed and frustrated with the lack of options in the BIOS setup menu. (I had a moan about that in this thread.)
This is a long post but I hope you'll find it worthwhile. Here are the features/settings which I will explain how to enable:
The BIOS disables the execute-disable bit function of the CPU, with no way to turn it on. You can enable it.
You can set VGA and VESA graphics modes to not be stretched to fill the whole screen (sharper graphics with no distorted aspect ratio).
Speed up the POST display by skipping the memory test
Disable various features (if you don't use them, that might save some power): the HD audio controller, WLAN card, on-board LAN, shadowing of the video BIOS
Enable beep before booting the OS
Enable key click sound (only in DOS, not Windows or Linux)
I'm still working on this, and hope to figure out more hidden settings soon, e.g. to disable the DVD drive and trackpad, and to change the video output from NTSC to PAL.
The information below applies to the Lenovo 3000 N200 model 0769 with BIOS version 3.03. My N200 has Nvidia graphics. For some background on the general principles/research required to figure this out, please see this thread at Wimsbios.com.
To change the settings, you need to create a bootable DOS floppy disk or USB drive. Download SYMCMOS.EXE (Google for it) and put it on the bootable disk. Boot the disk and run SYMCMOS to back up your current CMOS settings: SYMCMOS -Lsettings.txt
Next load the settings.txt into a text editor. It will begin like this:
    ( SYMBOLIC CMOS EDITOR - Version 643710-035 )
    CRC = 3EDD
    (0000) [0001]
    (0003) [0001]
Your CRC value may differ. Each line after the CRC contains a token number, followed by the value of that token. You can start with the settings.txt you created and edit any tokens you want to change, or delete all token lines and just include the tokens you want to change. Then use SYMCMOS.EXE to apply the new file: SYMCMOS -V2 -Uupdate.txt
After running that command you can reset, and hopefully notice the new settings in action. (For certain settings, such as re-enabling the execute-disable bit, you need to turn the computer off then on again.)
Here are some specific tokens you can change:
    Token Default New Description
(0000) [0001] [0000] Disable the HD audio controller
    (0042) [0001] [0000] Disable LCD panel graphics scaling/stretching
(004B) [0000] [0001] Beep before booting the OS
(0267) [0001] [0000] Enable support for the CPU execute-disable bit
(028E) [0000] [0001] Enable key click (only works in DOS and BIOS setup)
(02A3) [0001] Set to 0 for slower memory test, or 2 (or 3?) to skip
test for faster booting, especially with 4GB RAM
(046E) [0001] [0000] Disable video BIOS shadowing. (Best to leave enabled.)
    (0471) [0000] [0001] Enable 1MB memory hole at 15MB. (Best leave disabled.)
(0486) [0001] [0000] Disable PCI Express ports 1-6. This takes precedence
over the individual port bits below, and disables the
LAN, WLAN and (probably) ExpressCard port.
(0489) [0001] [0000] Disable PCI Express port 2 (WLAN card)
(048C) [0001] [0000] Disable PCI Express port 3 (maybe ExpressCard?)
    (048F) [0001] [0000] Disable PCI Express port 4 (LAN)
For example, if you want to disable LCD panel scaling and enable the execute-disable bit, you would create a text file like this:
    CRC = 3EDD
    (0042) [0000]
    (0267) [0001]
    Some final points:
Loading the default settings in the BIOS setup menu will overwrite any changes you make using SYMCMOS.EXE. So keep that bootable disk around in case you need to re-apply your settings in future.
The token numbers above are specific to version 3.03 of the Lenovo 3000 N200 model 0769 BIOS. They might be different for earlier BIOS versions, and will be different for other models of computer.
Once you have created a bootable floppy disk with a text file containing your updated settings, you could create a bootable CD with the floppy's data on. Just boot that CD to restore your settings in future.
Before experimenting with randomly changing token values to discover other hidden settings, make sure you know how to reset your computer's CMOS memory! Changing some settings results in your computer becoming unable to boot, so you can't use the BIOS setup screen to reset. I wrote about how to reset the N200 model 0769 CMOS in this thread.
If you discover any other settings, please let me know.
Any changes made are at your own risk; if you "brick" your laptop don't blame me!

  • How to install Windows 7 in UEFI modeand what bios settings for D30

How do you install windows 7 in UEFI mode and what bios settings do I need to install it on a D30 workstation.

Not a ThinkStation guy, but FWIW, that can happen when installing Win 7 in UEFI mode when CSM support is not enabled in BIOS.
Is CSM support - either explicit or by selecting "other OS" and turning UEFI back on as suggested above - an option?

  • How to enable LCD sensor in Satellite C850-B374 after BIOS update?

    Hi, friends
I m currently a satisfied Toshiba customer since april 2013. I have been using laptops since 2007 having used various brands I found Toshiba to be good one.
I have recently updated the Bios from 6.0 to 6.50 from the Toshiba service station.
Update was successful and the computer works fine.
But after rebooting the LCD sensor which activates the Power button in this specific model of laptop is not working. After entering the bios setting utility i came to know that ec version is 6 and bios version 6.50 At this point How to enable the lcd sensor to automatically boot while i open the lcd

You want to boot up the notebook by opening the lid. Right?
In this case you have to enable the option within the Windows 8 system settings
[Why does my Windows 8 notebook start automatically when opening the display lid?|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ2C03FA0001R01.htm]
You have to look for the option called: +Panel Open - Power On" feature+
This option needs to be enabled in order to boot up the computer automatically when the display lid is open

  • Hidden BIOS settings on Satellite P100

Finaly a new BIOS is released! Sweet!
Hmmm But my issues still remains, graphic fan never idles... The strange thing is that, just after updating the bios 4.10 to 4.20 my graphic fan spins down to idle :) but after reboot the issue remains?!
I have the latest Intel chipset driver installed and Nvidia driver delivered by Toshiba.
    For example:
    1: Entering Bios (4.20)
2: change the thermal control setting to Silent-mode
    3: F10= "save and exit"
4: Entering bios again, the thermal settings is set as desiered. OK!
5: Loading OS windows vista, selecting reboot when the first screen appear "enter password"
6: Entering bios during boot, Now the thermal setting is set to Preformans-mode again??
Next thing! How do I open the "Advance Hidden" bios settings. Aopen motherbord is by pressing ctrl+F1 at the main window of bios. How do I do the same with Pheonix? I have tested Alt+Ctrl+D, Alt+Ctrl+Esc and Alt+Ctrl+Ins (The common procedure for Penonix Bios according to www.safeit.se/support/faq/blancco.html)
    Regards

    Hello
As far as I know there are no hidden BIOS settings. If something like this persists it is definitely not for public usage. ;)
About graphic fan I can not say much but please be sure you use Toshiba provided drivers. Dong this you are definitely on the safe way.

  • How to restore default BIOS settings on Toshiba 1410 / 1415 / 2410 laptops? Option to CHGBIOSA?

I  have problems booting to any operating system but DOS on Toshiba Satellite 1410 (in very good physical condition) after few years of inactivity (drained down main battery and CMOS battery - now they're charged)
Windows stops with BSOD (error 0x0000008e), Linux stops with kernel panic, bad_area_nosemaphore and IRQ error.
Plain MS-DOS 7.10 seems to run OK.
BIOS was 1.40 with main password set. After first boot it displayed request for entering password and pressing F1 key to set the hardware clock. Now it doesn't display this message anymore.
Two memory modules (Nanya - 256 MB, 266 MHz, CL 2,5) are OK - checked on different versions of MemTest86+
(Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool hangs when starting!)
I dismantled laptop and cleaned very small amount of dust inside with compressed air.  Changed thermal paste on the processor (Celeron M 1,8) and bridge. Turned laptop on with extension cards, battery and disk and without them also.
    It didn't help.
I flashed the CMOS with BIOS 1.20, 1.30 and 1.40 back again. None of the versions didn't let booting neither Windows nor Linux.
MS-DOS, PC-DOS, FreeDOS still run OK.
What's more interesting - after flashing procedure all BIOS settings were intact (booting priority, battery saving mode, etc.). And yes - I removed the password before flashing!
I was suspicious about problems occuring when laptop was entering 32-bit mode and checked it with Video Memory Stress Test.
When CMOS was flashed with 1.20 BIOS above test was running flawlessly. However, with 1.30 and 1.40 version it stopped >>Unhandled Exceptopn "Access Denied"<< in 8th iteration when lucky. Most of the time it stopped after 2nd or 3rd iteration after framebuffer subtest.
    So my question are:
    - did CMOS lost its settings or somehow they were corrupted after long period of laptop's inactivity?
    - is Video extension of this BIOS flashable?
    - why the settings are NOT restored to defaults after each CMOS flashing?
    - or maybe there is some hidden switch/option to CHGBIOSA flasher to reset non-flashable CMOS area?
    - or is my built-in Video Card (nVidia NV17M) or IRQ enumerator dead?

Hi Jerry! I think I'm on board now, anyway I hope so. I removed both devices and switched them around. The device manager shows two USB devices. One is Mass Storage and one is Composite. I don't realy know which one is the 1TB and which one is the 16 GB. In my boot menu, it just says USB now?? My laptop only has three USB ports. Two on the right and One on the left. I have a wireless mouse plugged in one of the ports on the right as you can see in device manager. I hope this is what you were asking. I can be a little thick headed at times, so let me know what else you want me to try Thank you for your kind reply. It really means a lot to me.

  • How do I find the BIOS settings? I'm trying to install a VM so I can run CAD programs for my work.

I am an engineering student and thus having the capability to utilize CAD programs is highly advantageous to me, so I talked to several of my friends who have Macbooks and they recommended using Parallel. After I installed the program and my Windows OS, it keeps giving me an error message saying that the hardware virtualization has been disabled in the BIOS settings. I cannot find the BIOS settings anywhere! How do I change this? Does anyone know?

There are no BIOS settings, because Macs don't have a BIOS. I don't use Parallels, but I assume it has simulated BIOS settings. You'd have to consult its documentation to find out how to change them.

Please can someone tell me what button i press too get into the bios setup at the start when i switch my pc on cos i have tried every thing, but nothing works.

    Hello
Every time when you switch the notebook ON you can see at the bottom left hand site the short instruction how to enter BIOS settings. In your case you must use F2 button. Please keep it down immediately after switching the notebook ON.
Generally the Toshiba notebooks are delivered with two different BIOS versions (BIOS producer):
    - TOSHIBA BIOS: enter using ESC and F1 button
    - Phoenix BIOS: enter using F2 button.
According the specification your unit has Phoenix BIOS.
