Geforce 4 mx440-t vga card

Hello. I have got a MSI-6712 KT4 motherboard, with athlon xp2100+ processor
bought a MSI geforce4 mx440t 64mb agp graphics card, and cant get it to work at all. If i stall drivers from disc, or web site, i get 16 colours, and 640x480 display only.
I have a voodoo 3 pci card which works fine .
can you offer any suggestions?

Hi,
Make sure you fully uninstall your previous drivers before you install the new ones, You should install the VIA 4 in 1 drivers if you haven't already.
You could try that and if it dont work then Reinstall the OS like Maesus said.

HELP! GEFORCE 4 MX440 FREEZE ON 3D

Can someone please help me. I just bought a geforce 4 mx440 64mb DDR card to replace my older M64 32mb card. I uninstalled the old card and its drivers. When I installed the new card, it worked, but it freezes my computer whenever anything 3D runs. Like my screen saver, games, and benchmarking utilities. I have tried both MSI and nvidia drivers. Even a few different versions of the drivers. Still, nothing works. I used MSI 3D turbo software and that starts up, but immediatly pops up a small window stating my voltage or something is high? I read about this on the other forums and it states that you must be AGP 2 compliant. Which my board is. So, I am running out of things to try. Does anyone have any suggestions or news about this? My old card works fine, but this new one wont do any 3D.

Im fully aware of whom Deathstalker and Wonkanoby are. There older than dirt (no offence gentelmen). Everyone knows there the go to guys. None the less, my issue wasnt the PSU as they "thought" it was. Seems that there is a lot of mombo jumbo about weaker PSU's. YEAH, you should have over 300. But for those whom dont, dont let these guys tell imply that your PSU is the issue. Seems to me that PSU is always mentioned. I agree that PSU is a hugh dertermining factor, but not ALWAYS the ISSUE. I almost went out and purchased a new PSU based of what the guys stated was my issue. Im glad I didnt ( I was poor at the time) becuase it works fine and has since I changed the IRQ's.
I would like to say that Death and Won.. are two smart dudes whom help more people than the OEMs do. For that, there awesome people. But the PSU thing is a TAD over rated.
For all of you whom will argue me, slam me, or bicker. Im not arguing the fact that more is better, but sometimes less works too...

Change the PCI slot your soundblaster is in, preferably slot 4. You can change the IRQ for your VGA card but its a little more complex.

MSI Geforce 4 MX440 TV OUT?????????

Hi Guys,
I have a P4 2.4Ghz + an MSI Geforce 4 MX440 with TV Out. The problem i have is when i connect my graphic card with a TV. When I choose the TV as a display monitor and try to watch a DVD, i am getting a picture (on my TV) full of horizontal lines and a lot of flickers. I tried different programs such as Windows Media Player, Real One player, Win DVD 4 but i had the same result with all of them. I noticed that the flickering increases as soon as i maximize the picture to full screen. I also updated the drivers of the graphic card.
Can anyone help me re this matter because for me it is important to use the TV out.

your tv will be 50 hz and the computer uses a 60 hz refresh rate ,try turning off your monitor while watching your dvd on the tv,Best regards Tony

MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card, Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE REBOOTS Windows XP when it renders.

The Problem is that once video is captured by the MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card, Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE crashes Windows XP when it renders.
I am using the latest MSI 44.03 drivers and the WDM drivers as shown in Windows XP system properties, hardware, are 2.0.3.0 09/04/2003.
The VGA card is set to CLONE mode and OVERLAY controls to FULL SCREEN DEVICE = SECONDARY DISPLAY, to get video output using thesupplied 9-SSCCR adaptor and
S-VHS cable to an analog VCR.
IF I DISABLE THE OVERLAY CONTROLS, RENDERING COMPLETES, XP DOES NOT REBOOT, BUT I CAN NO LONGER EXPORT TO THE VCR!!!!
I would appreciate any assistance or explanation.

Another issue I have relates to video captured by the MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card showing distortion or tearing in the bottom lines.
I am trying to capture, using an MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card, I am using the latest MSI 44.03 drivers and the WDM drivers as shown in Windows XP system properties, hardware, are 2.0.3.0 09/04/2003.
The capture system is PAL, I have selected PAL-I, my video sources are either an analogue VCR or an analog Camcorder. I use the analog VIDEO IN or the S-VHS IN of the supplied 9-SSCCR adaptor.
The software packages I have used are Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE, Intervideo WinProducer 2.0 or MSI Media Centre II deluxe (including patch).

the question im asking, because i play qauke 3 alot... im not happy with my fps.. its as if its capped at 60fps... is there any way how to get it higher i can remember with my previous card i could hit 120 with it, please answer back asap

are you sure that gf4 4200's price is close to gf3 ti500? i'm sure you're referring to the 64mb version of gf4 4200?
but still no, unless you're comparing a gainward geforce 3 ti500 to a cheap geforce 4 ti4200, like inno3d? inno3d with the value version, no anything?
actually, after all you guys have said, i'm having second thoughts on buying a gainward, its much more expensive than inno3d, is it worth going for gainward? i mean, well it looks better, golden sample "overclock", PRIDE :P , but they're all baically the same, right? i mean, we change video cards very often anyway, then why buy an expensive one? is my thinking correct? please correct me if not....
but gf3 ti500 is in anyway faster than any gf4mx? gf3 still has all the advantage? speed? features? except for nview like ender said?

CPU initialization hang on bootup- works w/o VGA card!?

After moving my system across country I have encountered a problem. When I boot up my K7N2-L with 2200 and MSI GF4 4200, the system hangs on "processor initialization," as indicated by the D-bracket LED display. Removing *just the VGA card remedies this problem and the system moves to boot up properly.
What could be the cause of this problem? The only way I can see the VGA card affecting the CPU is by insufficient power or a short in the system. Would this be a mobo problem, a CPU problem, a PSU problem or a VGA problem? the system had worked fine months before I moved it.
Any help is appreciated.

I have reseated my processor- overheating is not the cause. It has worked fine before. I have cleared the CMOS, so BIOS settings are not the cause. It is not low PSU power either (unless something is wrong with my PSU). This system has been running fine for months until I moved it. Thanks for your suggestions though...

Ultra 60 with a Hercules VGA Card wont show me anything

i just have a Ultra 60 on my desk, and unfortunately I am not getting anything on my screen. Is there anything special I should look after to get the U60 with the Hercules PCI Card to work? The Model of the hercules VGA Card is: Terminator 3D/DX with a S3 Virge/DX <- if that is of any help.

The Hercules PCI card (and any other PC graphics board) won't work with a SPARC system. You have to use a card with OpenFirmware not a VGA BIOS. Please review the Sun System Handbook page of the Ultra 60 for supported cards.

I assume you got the Hercules card for free.The required Sun graphics boards are very inexpensive today (from second hand, e.g. eBay).
Even with a Sun graphics card (frame buffer) but without a Sun keyboard the output is directed to the serial console.

S3 trio 3D/2X VGA card configuration

I have installed Solaris 8 for Intel on my PIII system. It has an S3 Trio 3D/2X 4MB VGA card installed in it. There is no such VGA card option given in the list while I run kdmconfig. My Monitor is Compaq V500, Which VGA I should choose from the list and which resolution level I should set inorder to get true graphics while solaris is running with Xserver. Right now, I am using standard VGA from the list. xserver runs but the graphics are very poor and dull.

Well unless it's in Sun's HAL compatibility list you are out of luck. Try applying Sun's latest Intel patches for it. Otherwise you may want to try www.xig.com and see if they have a video driver for you.

If you mean restore as in reloading an existing config from a disk image. If you have a bootable diskimage on an external drive of your xserve, and if you have another Mac you may be able to boot the xserve in targeted disk mode and just use disk utility on the second Mac to restore the image from the external drive to the internal drive of the xserve. Restore without erase works the best for this...sometimes you will get a copy error on the last file...not sure what the error really means...but it does not seem to be a real issue.

Upgraded to GeForce GTX TITAN Black video card and a Samsung 4K monitor, recently. Now, everything in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 is too small to read. What can I do to make it readable?

UI scaling for larger displays was just added in the latest CC update, so I don't think there's much you'd be able to do on Premiere's end in CS6. If you're in Windows, you could use the universal scaling in the display control panel, but things might get chunky pretty fast with that.

Performance Problems with GeForce FX 5600 256mb Video Card

I recently purchased the GeForce FX 5600 VTD 256mb video card to replace my old ATi Radeon 8500 64mb card. I'm running an AMD 2800XP+ on an MSI K7N2 Delta-L, with 1gb of PC 2100 on Windows XP Pro.
I installed the latest drivers (from the EGA site) and ran 3DMark 2001 SE. My score for the old card (a 64mb card) was about 9200. My score for the new 256mb card is only 8700. My roommate has a GeForce 4 TI4600 128mb video card. We put his card in my computer, and I scored 11117. According to PCStats.com, the FX 5600 128mb version scored about 11000.
I've tried everything I can think of to ensure my video card is working properly, but I still get low scores. I don't know if I'm missing something somwhere, but there has to be a way to get more performance out of the video card. Can anyone help me out here?

Yeah, I've ran the driver cleaner after changing each driver. And I've tried several drivers with the new card. I've even changed the clock settings a bit, which has helped bring the scores up to around 9000. Still way off from the GeForce 4 or the 128mb version of the 5600.

Driver for Creative graphics blaster 3D CLGD5464 pci vga card

Can anyone tell me from where to find the driver for Creative graphics blaster 3D CLGD 5464 pci vga card. The driver in Solaris8 is for CLGD 5465 which is not compatible with my card. The solaris detects my card as CLGD 5465 but it doesent work. Can anyone tell me what should I do about it?

If it is not supported by the Xserver under Solaris you may find you can get it to work by installing XFree86 (www.xfree86.org), there are compiled binaries for Solaris Intel that will make the transition easier (personally I found the 3.3.5 version works well). First check at www.xfree86.org if your videa-card IS supported under XFree though. There are some tweaks you need to add to get it all to work in the Solaris x86 FAQ. Since you probably have to do all of this in non-gui its not easy but can be done.
