GeForce 4 Titanium 128mb
Hi everyone,
I have a GeForce 4 Titanium 128mb AGP and I want to install this card in my Mac Pro G5. I see that the slot of the original card (GeForce 5200 Fx 64mb AGP) is different.
The name of this slot is the same: AGP
I can install ma GeForce 4 Titanium?
Thx for this info.
Dekino
Power Mac G5 dual Mac OS X (10.4.9)
The Mac Pro uses PCI Express cards, not AGP.
Also, is Intel-based, not G5 PPC.

GeForce4 Titanium 128MB works without drivers?!
I have a MDD dual 1Ghz and have been using the ATI 9000 64MB card since new, no problems. My Itunes visualizer frame rates have really slowed down (can't remember when this happened, maybe years ago), and I saw an NVIDIA GeForce4 Titanium 128MB Graphics Card FS cheap so I bit. Plugged it in and it works, no drivers. In fact the installation CD that came with says its incompatible with my system when I try to install it. This is in the Apple box, with the Apple CD, and this card is clearly compatible with my hardware according to specs. It was an option when new, just too expensive then.
Regardless, frame rates are unchanged, though moving windows around from one monitor to another in extended desktop mode is clearly faster, and cleaner.
Was my expectation of faster visualizer frame rates unrealistic? If I could find compatible drivers would this help? I'm kind of afraid to change anything as its driving my second monitor at 1920x1080 which isn't even in the specs.
I used to get 64+ frames per second, the past year or two its more like 25. Any theories as to what may be gumming this thing up?
Thanks for your opinion, Mark
MDD Dual 1Ghz Mac OS X (10.3.9) M-Audio Revolution 7.1I believe that iTunes 7 makes even more use of display routines than the earlier versions did - it wreaked havoc with my stock 32MB GeForce card with display artifacts just displaying the album art, forget about even using the visualizer.. The frame rates you're seeing in the visualizer are comparable to my Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB card. I don't know if you're going to see anything better on a card that's compatible with the G4's other than the latest 256MB cards with full Core Image support that still have to live within the 4X AGP standard..

MSI GeForce 6200 128MB running DVI 1680x1050
Hello,
My VGA is MSI GeForce 6200 128MB. VGA driver is GeForce 175.19
Monitor is Samsung T200 with native resolution 1680x1050 and DVI input.
When I set resolution to 1680x1050 using DVI output, desktop is streched wider than screen and I have to scroll down for taskbar or scroll right to show clock for example. Setting resolution at 1680x1050 using analog output, it looks fine except that desktop icons are slightly streched verticaly.
How can I get correct picture in DVI? Is it driver problem and what version is recommended to install?
Thanks&RegardsAlrite thanks, I’ll see what I can do. A friend told me that older drivers might be more convenient for 6200 and he mentioned 91.31. So I might go with that.
Also browsing other forums I found this solution, and they said it will work well with static screens but not so well when playing games. Well this might be the last alternative, providing I don’t find solution with drivers.

okey wth ?
I used to have a geforce 2 mx400 with 256mb ram and had 99fps in counter strike up to 100
I installed the MSI Geforce 5600fx 128mb a while ago
I even putted in extra mb ram
and now, after so much tweaks etc I've come to the conclusion that the fps of this 5600 isnt even anywhere near that geforce 2, when I play counter strike lets say in a kz map, I have a max of 30fps :/
this really affects my gameplay and I want this fixed, how do I do this ?
my system specs:
Pentium 4 1,5ghz
ECS motherboard
1GB ram
audigy soundblaster 2zs platinum pro
120GB HDD
300WAT power supplytuning down the graphic detail in counter strike is not an option, it may be in ut2004 and so, but not in any half life mods
so basically I have to buy a new power supply ? :/
what is the point of buying a new graphics card for more framerates, if you have to buy basically a whole new computer ? -
I have the MSI Geforce 4 ti4400 128mb AGP 4x. Lately my system has been freezing at random points... I've done memtest, and my memory isn't at fault... Asus seems to think that it's either the L2 cache on my processor, the northbridge on the motherboard, or the memory on the vid card. Often times after a freeze, sound will continue for several seconds after video has frozen... this leads me to believe it's a video issue. I've had a problem w/ bad ram on a vid card before, and symptoms were ALOT like these. Also note that my freezes appear to have ceased with having replaced my GF4 w/ my old GF2
My specs are:
Asus P4C800 Deluxe
P4C 3.0ghz
1gb Corsair TwinX 3200LLPT
Audigy 2
2x WD Caviar HDs in Raid 0 via onboard Promise controller
5 80mm fans, 2 front mounted HD coolers... temps all under 40 degrees C.
450w PS.
I have no IRQ conflicts... while my Audigy 2 and my firewire port do share an IRQ, that is quite simply because the Audigy 2 has the firewire built onto it, they MUST use the same IRQ... they plug in the same slot.
Nothing else shares my video card's irq.
So... any ideas? I'm pretty certain it's the vid card... and I'd much rather it be the vid card than the Processor or Mobo...Nebor,
Just humor me and list the IRQs please.

[GeForce 6] Geforce 6800 128MB - Computer won't boot with add. power cable conne
I've had my computer set up in it's current configuration for about a year now except that I've recently replaced (RMA) my motherboard and it's been working solidly for the past two weeks. I was playing a game yesterday, hit <Escape> to go to options and then my computer shut off. After unplugging everything from the motherboard, I have found out that the computer won't turn back on if I have the additional power cable attached to the video card. If I have the power cable attached to the video card, the computer will turn on for about a second, and turn off. The power LED won't stay on, the CPU fan won't turn, even the power supply fan won't turn. When I detach the power cable from the video card, my computer will power on, but I get a horrible screech (which I assume is the video card warning that the necessary power cable isn't attached). In this case, all fans on the system start turning, even the video card fan. So, I turn off the computer within a few seconds to make sure I don't damage anything. I have tried using different power connectors from the power supply to the video card to make sure it wasn't just one particular power cable.
My question is: Is the video card at fault, or my power supply?
I'm hesitant to test the video card on the only other system available to me (My girlfriend's 5 year old Gateway with a 200W power supply [+12V 6A Max] which I'm using to post this thread) for fear of damaging it. And unfortunately, the video card in my girlfriend's computer is of a way older AGP style which won't fit into my motherboard (for testing).Glenn,
I cleared the CMOS, as suggested, and nothing has changed from my previous post. I'm trying to figure out if the video card is now drawing too much power from the power supply, indicating something went wrong with the video card or if something went wrong with the power supply in that it now can't handle the power being drawn from the video card. I disconnect all my hard/optical drives power connections, so that the power supply is powering only the motherboard and video card and it's the same story.
NEXT DAY UPDATE:
I bought a SmartPower 2.0 350W Antec power supply from Circuit City to test my situation further. I get the same problems even with the new power supply, so I'm certain that the video card is drawing too much power from the Molex power connector. Time to RMA MSI ASAP. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to comment on this thread. -
MSI NX6600GT-TD128E Geforce 6600GT 128MB other models
Ive heard a lot about this VGA and its supposed to be good but there are diffrent models at diffrent places with the same name. If you go to the buy now for this card it will take you to zoom as the cheapest but if you go to newegg the models are diffrent so does anybody know what the deal is. I have also heard that there are some heating problems with the older model does anybody know.

I just upgraded from a Geforce 2mx400 32MB to a MSI Geforce 5900 128MB. After I installed the card, everything seemed fine. I had installed the latest drivers and firmware. But after the computer being on for about five minutes, the screen went all crazy. The screen was just a pattern of small multi-coloured dots and a big block as the mouse.
I tried lowering the core and memory clock speeds to the lowest possible and this seemed to let the computer go longer before the screen went corupt. I could even play a game for a long time with no problems. But If I raised the core/memory speeds higher (still below stock speeds), the video would die.
So I thought this might be a power problem as I had a cheap 350W PSU. So I just installed a Thermaltake 420W. With the core/memory clocks at stock speed I tried to play a game and the video did the same thing, a black screen with multi coloured dots in a pattern.
It is set to AGP 4X, and set in the BIOS at 64MB.
Anyone know why the video crashes even with sufficient power, latest drivers/firmwareI did a lot of searching about the card and from what I've read, the memory doesn't even get very hot and many other makes of the FX5900 don't even use heat sinks on the memory chips.
So would this mean there is something else wrong?
The temp of the graphics chip is well below anything near over heating when this happens. But from what is happening (working fine at low core/memory speeds) with the screen going to all coloured dots it does hint at overheating. Weird problem. -
GeForce 6600GT AGP 4x/8x Compatibilty Question
Hi, I have received an MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 Geforce 6600GT 128MB DDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card as a gift. I also have a media center pc with e-Home TV Tuner. I was wondering if i replaced my Current GeForce4 MX440 with this new MSI card, would there be any compatibility issues with the tv tuner card, or does this MSI Card support all tv tuner cards?
Thanks,
~SnikkleSnikkle,
My friend's car is having problems, the car has 4 wheels. What do think is the problem?
I would greatly appreciate any help . . . thanks in advance.
Richard
P.S. If you have trouble helping me with my problem. Think about how much trouble I am having helping you with yours. Especially when I do not have a clue what the specs of your Hardware, OS and Power Supply are. -
When ever i click on the option in display settings to view the msi clock settings i get a pop up problem saying 'Invalid pNvuClockInt' and the 3d clock speed is shown with a ? mark. it used to say 'Could not load NvGpio' but after i installed some things off the disc that came with the graphics card it stopped saying it and said the next thing. I was also wondering if this would affect the game Halo since it runs rather slow at times even though my pc is well above the recommended spec. It's a P4 2.8ghz, 512mb ddr ram, MS-Starforce Geforce FX5200 128mb.
Is there any way to sort this problem out?
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
El NinioEl Ninio,
Download and install the latest nVidia ForceWare Drivers
Delete the file msicpl.dll from your Windows Directory and the problem will go away.
If you want to be able to have the hidden functions, create a file with notepad and put this in it.
Quote
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak]
"Coolbits"=dword:ffffffff
"NvCplEnableHardwarePage"=dword:00000001
"NvCplEnableAGPSettingsPage"=dword:00000001
Save it as agpsetting.reg to your desktop or anywhere you like. Then run it and it will give you all the hidden options from nVidia which include extra Resolution settings for your desktop and overclocking for both the memory and core.

MSI TI-4200 Win 98SE Rebooting
I needed to create a Window 98SE disk so I can play some of my games that don't work on XP Pro. I have used the latest drivers, but after I installed the drivers for the card, the PC reboots and goes into safe mode. On my XP drive, it all works great. How can I find out what the problem is? How can I fix this so I can get to playing my games again?
Thanks, Dean.
FYI ...
nVidia 45.23 drivers
Intel 845PESV board with Pentium 4 3.06 Mhz
1 GB ram
WD 80GB hard driveOk, my current confuguration is as follows:
Intel DE845PESV motherboard
Intel Pentium 4 3.06 Mhz(533 FSB)
1 GB of Kingston 133mhz DDR ram
MSI TI-4200 Geforce 4 128mb graphic card
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card
Compaq DVD-117 DVD drive
Liteon LTR-48246s CDR-W drive
Sony Floppy drive
Windows 98 SE
Promise Ultra ATA-133 (Tx2)
After some additional research, I believe the problem is with the nVidia drivers. I removed the drivers and had Windows configure the card as a standard VGA display card. Then everything boots OK, but only 16 colors. As soon as I install any version (I tried 40.71, 44.03 and 45.23) of the nVidia drivers, the PC re-boots with a problem loading ndis2sup.vxd. I don't know where to go from here.
The games I want to play are Mechwarrior 2 Titanium additon and Mechwarrior 3. I have tried many configurations in XP but no good. So I figure a drive with Windows 98SE will do the trick. I have everything loaded except the graphics card.
Is there any more info you need to help me? -

MSI Neo2 K8N Platinum - Freezing Issue during games
First off greetings to everyone on these forums...
I purchased the MSI Neo2 K8N Platinum motherboard from NewEgg back at the end of March to compliment the AMD 64 "Winchester" processor that I also purchased at that time to replace a slightly older AMD XP "Barton" system that was using the Abit NF7-S motherboard. For the past month I have been fighting an unusual and highly irritating issue that I have noticed during game play and have tried everything that I know of and more in an attempt to remedy this issue, but to no avail. This is the general background of the situation and now I will descibe in greater detail as to what this issue I am referring to is and the symptoms of this issue and some of the various methods used to remedy this issue.
The issue is that while play a game the system experiences a short 5-10 second freeze during the game randomly, but usually several times an hour. During this freezing the sound would loop and as suddenly as the freeze occurs it would cease and the game would continue on as if nothing happened. However, sometimes this would result in the system freezing outright after this short 5-10 second freeze... but it does not feel like a total system freeze, but rather a video freeze as the sound continues and I still have keyboard control... but this does require me to force a manual reboot of the machine itself. I have scowered the internet and various forums in an attempt to find what the issue was and use various methods to remedy this issue, but so far nothing has worked in my favor... but it does seem like this issue has been plaguing other users with the MSI Neo2 Platinum motherboard. Below are some of the methods that I have used in an attempt to solve this issue:
*Default Clock for CPU/Memory/GPU; Over/Under Clock for CPU/Memory/GPU
*Increased voltages to CPU VID, AGP, and Memory
*Disabled/Enabled AGP Fast Writes
*Increased AGP Aperture from 64MB to 512MB
*Enabled/Disabled ATI/nVidia Speedup option in BIOS
*Forced AGP clock lock to 66-67mhz
*Relaxed/Aggressive memory timings
*APIC enabled/disabled
*Gate A20 turbo/normal
*Disabled all unneeded onboard components (Realtek NIC, Sound, SATA)
*Disabled nVidia MAC and attempted to use 3Com Gigabit PCI card instead
*Swapped HDD Cables
*Tried PCI Sound Card (SB Audigy2 ZS Gamer) in PCI Slots 3/4
*Tried video drivers from 71.89 Official to 76.45 beta modified drivers
*Tried 5.10 official nForce drivers to remixed 7.02 nForce drivers (5.10 drivers uses 4.36 GART, higher drivers uses the 4.40 GART)
*Applied all the latest updates from Windows Update Website
*Reinstalled Operating System (Windows XP SP2) 5 different times clean with various settings (APIC on/off, etc...) and different drivers.
*Installed Audio Card (SB Audigy2 ZS Gamer) with older and the latest drivers available from Creative's website
*Replaced PSU (Previously was a Thermaltake 420watt PSU, 18A +12v) with a OCZ Modstream 520watt PSU (28A +12v)
*Video card is KNOWN working from previous build (AMD XP 3000, Abit NF7-S)
*Hard Drive is KNOWN working from previous build
*CD/DVD-ROM drive is kNOWN working from previous build
*Heat is not an issue... all components temperature is well below rated level, the only unknown is the chipset temperature (it has a active heatsink and seems to not be hot to the touch, applied AS5 to it anyway)
*Used latency tweak to the video card
*Used Rivatuner to force constant performance level
*Tweaked BIOS to force even clock rates and forced 1.4v to the GPU Core
*Used original GPU BIOS
*Used MSI Neo2 K8N Bios 1.4 - 1.8 and modified BIOS 1.8
*No background applications are running (not even antivirus)
*Used application to force maximum refresh rates for my monitor
*Memory passed MemTest86+ for over 24 hours
*System passed Prime95 and SuperPi for over 24 hours
*System seems stable in all non gaming related applications
*Checked through various troubleshooting procedures
*Disabled SBDRVDET.EXE using MSCONFIG
*There are no IRQ conflicts outside of PCI system management sharing IRQ11 with the NIC and USB... in APIC there are no IRQ conflicts what so ever. Regardless neither method worked
*Installed AMD 64 drivers from AMD
*Disabled DEP in boot.ini
*...and many other various tweaks and modifications.

I have been fighting this issue for well over a month now and I am frankly nearly out of ideas, this does not necessarly prevent me from playing games, but this does interfere with the games I do play (especially online games). I do demand absolute stability from the games that I play and this issue only began AFTER I upgraded to the new motherboard, processor, and memory. The only thing I have not tried is something that I do not have access in attempting on this motherboard, and that is increasing the voltage to the chipset.
Here is my theory on what is going on is that I believe is there is a fault with the chipset on this motherboard and this is manifesting itself while I am playing various games on this system. Of course I would like to try increasing the voltage to the chipset as that would increase stability, but there is no option in BIOS to increase the chipset voltage like the previous motherboard I had (Abit NF7-S). It is possible that either a) the chipset is at fault and is causing me this issue or b) the chipset is not recieving enough voltage.
My question to the rest of you is this, what do you think the problem is and what ideas do you have that I may try that I have not tried yet. Additionally if there is nothing else that I may try should I attempt to RMA this motherboard and will that help, and is there any other versions of this motherboard that I should be aware of. I would appreciate any response from a MSI representative and any comments from those that may have positive suggestions for my issue. Thank you in advance for your time and any help that you may be able to render.

*EDIT* Added additional methods attempted... (there was a lot... so I did not remember everything that I have tried)Quote from: dacull on 25-May-05, 16:06:33
Does it only happen in online games, or can it happen in all games? One thing to make sure of is to turn off CRC checksum offload in your NVidia MAC properties (everyone do this, it is incorrectly calculating checksums which leads to servers ignoring your packets). However as you have tried a different network card you can discount this theory.
For me it looks like the biggest culrpit is your 6800NU, i have read alot of bad things about the NU and you have a low bios revision there, just because it worked well against your old chipset doesnt mean it will work well against your current chipset. Sounds like a BIOS fix is needed as some timing is out somewhere.
Ensure Spread Spectrum is off (and as you have already pointed out Fast writes, ATI NV Speedup) and your card is running at default clock.
As a test beg/borrow/steal another graphics card (preferably nvidia) and see how it goes so you can narrow in on your video card.
It is not just one game, but it is more prodominate in certain games than others... the game in question here is Planetside... though I stuck a demo of Unreal Tournament 2004 on a loop bot match and it seemed to have locked up after 4 hours (not sure how many times it experienced that 5-10 freeze as I went to bed). As for the video card it was KNOWN working from a previous build in those same games (Previous build was a AMDXP3000 and a Abit NF7-S nForce2 motherboard). The only components different in this build is the AMD64, the MSI Neo2 K8N, 2 new sticks of Corsair XMS to replace the Corsair ValueSelects, and the SB Audigy2 as I would never use a software codec audio solution. Spread Spectrum is LOCKED in BIOS and disabled... ATI/nVidia speed up was disabled from the start... and I tried the Video Card at default clock, over clocked, as well as under clocked and the same issue resulted... as I said before it is NOT the video card.
There are two other things I could try is use my old Geforce4ti 4200 and see what happens... or even try out WindowsXP 64-bit edition as someone earlier suggested. I wish I could find a new BIOS for my XFX 6800NU, but there there is only the revision 1 BIOS that I was able to find. The mystery continues...

Serious performance issues and no sound???
I just purchased a PM8M-V VIA P4M800 + VT8237 Chipset Basedd motherboard, for the primary reason that my EVGA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB video card was having random artifacts popping up all over the screen. My problem is my performance is very laggy (2 FPS in Battlefield 2...version 1.1.2554-356.0, lowest video quality settings, tried it at both 1024x768 and 800x600 and I've messed around with the desktop resolution); I opened up the task manager during battlefield 2 and it showed 100% PC usage, which never went down during the game. I set the video card AGP apeture size to 256 MB which helped the performance a tad. Also, the video swap memory I set to the lowest possible in the BIOS. Drivers for both the new mother board and the EVGA card are installed up to date. I ran Norton and Adaware, my comp is clean, and I also ran disk defrag. I haven't done disk cleanup, ETC but I figured something that small couldn't effect performance that bad. I saw something in the BIOS about changing the AGP Voltage, not sure if I should screw with this setting
My second problem is I have no sound. My sound is a built in card and it reads, verbatum (from the Motherboard manual)
AC97 link controller integrated in VT8237R
Realtel ALC655 6-Channel Software audio codec
- Compliant with AC97 v2.2 spec
Again, the drivers are all up-to-date on the sound, as well
Here again are my PC stats

The EVGA card isn't the problem; I'm positive of that because I already returned it to newegg.com and they sent me a new one that had the same problem. Any other suggestions? Again, performance is horrible and I have no sound, even with updated drivers
please, reply to this post, or email me a solution at [email protected]. I'm desperate to use my $400 in computer stuff I bought
If you want, I can email you the dxdiag.txt file, I've heard that can help greatly to see that info...dxdiag.txt part 2
