GeForce 560 Ti, CS6 and Windows 8 - no acceleration

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 8, I have not been able to use hardware acceleration properly on my GeForce GTX 560 Ti. I previously had the card working fine (using the cuda_supported_cards.txt 'hack'). Now Premiere Pro CS6 allows me to select hardware acceleration, but it won't actually render. It either freezes at 0%, or it spits out an "error compiling movie" error.
I'm using Premiere CS6 6.0.2, nVidia driver 310.70, 8GB RAM. I have followed one suggestion to edit the nVidia settings for Premiere Pro.exe, changing the "mixed-GPU acceleration" to "compatibility mode". But that didn't make a difference.
I have tried an older nVidia Windows 8 driver, but that didn't change anything either.
Anyone have a suggestion?

  • Managing fonts in Adobe CS6 and Windows 7

Previously I had students add their fonts to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts. This worked well. I gave them write access to this folder and they would drag their fonts into this folder and they would be available to all products from the Creative Suite. This was when our school was on CS5.5 and Windows XP.
Over the weekend we reimaged the machines to have Windows 7 (64-bit) and CS6. Students can no longer add fonts to Adobe, as I am unsure of where the fonts folder is. They also cannot add fonts system wide, as they are not given admin access to these folders (which makes sense). I have tried to add fonts to the folder found at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts" but this does not make the font available to Adobe CS6 applications.
Is there a way to have fonts added to Adobe? I know that there are manny different applications that can manage fonts; can the Adobe forum users recommend one? I don't want students to be able to affect system wide fonts. I have dealt with the repercussions of giving students access to the Windows fonts folder.
Help in this would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Blake

I have been hodling off upgrading to CS4 for a year now, since Adobe has not make any statements about Windows 7 support.  If adobe has release some statements, can someone point me to the statement?

What is the possible release schedule for CS5, I am thinking May 2010?
That's as good as anyone else's guess.
    CS: Sep 2003
    CS2: April 2005 (19 months)
    CS3: April 2007 (24 months)
    CS4: Oct 2008 (19 months)
CS5:  May 2010 would be 19 months - but only Adobe knows the real date.

  • I am unable to capture using Matrox MXO2 LE with Preimere Pro CS6 and Windows 8

I have a Matrox MXO2 LE and trying to capture with Preimere Pro CS6.  My OS is Windows 8 and it sees my Matrox Device via my device managers.  No option comes up in CS6 to allow me to actually capture.  I am a new beginner with both Matorx and Preimere so learning on the way.
    Background Information:
I have a Datavideo SE 600 Switcher (SD) and it is connected to the Matrox.  I am trying to capture into Preimere Pro so that we can make DVDs instanly after service, we are a church.  I am able to capture using Adobe Live Media Encoder for Live streaming but not Preimere Pro CS6.

Check with Matrox... ask 2 things
1-do you have a device driver that is "certified" for PProCS6?
2-do you have a device driver that is "certified" for Windows 8?
The only NATIVE support in Premiere (any version) is Firewire

  • PS CS6 and Windows 8.1

Yesterday I installed Photoshop CS6 on my Windows 8.1 computer, but now I can't find it.  I'm so new to 8.1 that I don't know where things are stored yet.  When i search for Photoshop cs6 on the start screen, I get links to where I could buy it, and apps in the store, but nothing about where it is on my machine.  Help. please

Right I might be left with make documents as tabs so they are up top....as you mentioned.
What was nice in old CS4....is lets say I had 5 windows open and 1 of the 5 was max size (working project) and the other 4 where minimized (bottom stacked inside cs4)....and then if I had to grab another file, it would bring it inside PS while keeping all current windows active and left as there where.
Now the new CS6 treats this differently, the minimized windows are tabbed outside of the PS program into the windows taskbar....and if I open a new psd file in cs6, it will open just that one file live inside, while keeping the older minimized documents still in the taskbar ....which taking more time to see where in taskbar I need to grab image C to marry it up with what I just opened up live in CS6...
Hope this make sense..Ideally to have all windows stay within PS itself on minimize would be great....but might have to go with the TAB option as it seem that might not work anymore how it used to.

  • CS6 and Windows Vista

On various websites, yours included, it is stated that CS6 will not run on windows vista. However according to your article kb404901 it would appear that CS6 will run on vista as it talks about having to select either the 32 or 64 bit option, unlike XP or win 7 which load both versions. Please clarify this issue as I will be purchasing CS6 in the near future. I will be installing it on a Toshiba Satellite laptop running 32 bit vista ultimate and a centrino core 2 duo processor. If I do have to move to win 7 it will be win7 pro.

Giffoj - A correction in my previous post. Sorry about that.
Adobe dropped 32-bit support in CS6 for Mac. Hence that is 64-bit only. However, on Windows, you can use the 32-bit or 64-bit depending on your OS - Vista/ Windows 7. You cannot however, choose to run in 32-bit mode. You cannot install the 64bit on Vista. 64-bit can only be installed on a 64-bit compatible OS such as Windows 7.
Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks & Flash have no reported problems in 32-bit. However, you cannot install/run Premiere, After Effects, Encore & Speedgrade on a 32-bit installation.
The only key advantage if you use the 64bit OS and install the 64-bit Photoshop is that your computer can leverage more than 4GB of RAM (even if your system had more installed in it), which was not possible in a 32bit OS with 32bit installation.
Photoshop CS6 Native Memory Module offers support for way over 4Gigs of RAM which is something you can experiment/ enjoy only on a 64-bit installation.
However, in your case, you could install the 32-bit version of Photoshop on your Vista OS.
    I apologize for the confusion.

  • Illustrator CS6 and Windows 7 Fix

When I try to place an ai file or a vector that I purchased from istockphoto.com, nothing happens.  Is this a Windows 7 issue?  Please help!!!

We can't know. You are not providing enough info. What format is the source file in? How do you place it? Does it open by itself?

  • CS6 and Nikon D800

My Nikon D800 and CS6 are not playing nice. I have updated CS6 and some of the updates have errors. I am getting U44M1P7 error message...whatever that means. I can load photos into Bridge. From there it goes thru a translation program that takes quite a long time. Ultimately, the photos showup in my CS6 on the top bar. I can not get them to thumbnail preview or into slideshow. I can view a selected photo, but can't do any editing. Any guesses? My Nicon D7000 works well with this software. I don't get what the problem could be.

    jackiehamilton wrote:
Will CS6 and Windows 7 (32 bit) open Nikon D800 Raw files?
Yes, you just need to update Camera Raw to the latest version (7.1).
Also, beware of Nikon Transfer, which has been known to modify the D800 raw files making them incompatible with Camera Raw. Adobe Photodownloader does not have this problem.

  • After several time installed CS6 and a clean Windows 8.1 bridge still pause after selecting a picture or right click with button mouse.

My bridge pause all the time. I have to wait 30 seconds after selecting a picture or click the right button of the mouse. I have installed a new windows 8.1, and a fresh CD6. But still these problems in Bridge. No problems in Photoshop. What to do

    What is the problem:
When I choose a picture in Bridge I have to wait 20 till 30 seconds (sometimes more).
When I choose with right click of the mouse. I have to wait the same time.
When I choose the menu. Also
After opening the picture(s) in Camera RAW. There are no problems
In Photoshop there are also no problems. Everything works all right.

  • Photoshop CS6 x64, Windows 8 64-bit and an error in my display driver

So I have 64-bit Windows 8, 64-bit Photoshop CS6 and an ATI Radeon HD 4770 GPU. When I go to the settings in PS, it tells me that there is a problem with my display driver so I cannot use GPU graphics processing. I would really like these features to be available to me, especially since my GPU meets the recommendations by Adobe. I installed the latest driver from AMD. What am I missing?

Might want to read this link about uninstalling driver  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1142340?tstart=0

  • InDesign CS6 and CC hang constantly in Windows 8 x64

Id anyone else experiencing a similar problem? If I do anything at all in InDesign, the application will "hang". I can still move my cursor, it does not crash, I can still see what text block or other item I have selected, but I can't do anything at all with it. Oddly enough, if I press "esc" one time, I will get the frame handles, and I am then able to do whatever I wanted to do with it. If I deselect it, the select something else (or the same item again) it does the same
thing. I get a box around the item, but can't do anything with it. I can't move it, I can't select the text, I can't select anything else. BUT ... if I hit "esc" I get the handles, and can then do what I want. This is extremely annoying. I have both CS6 and CC installed on my desktop here at home, using Creative Cloud. Both versions exhibit the same issue, regardless of file (they all do it, even a brand new document with only one word placed). At work, I have a desktop that is running Windows 7 x64, and they both work fine. The issue seems to only be happening on my desktop here at home, running Windows 8 x64.
Any thoughts would be extremely grateful. Thanks!

Thanks. I periodically check for new drivers and have indeed installed the latest drivers. Last night, just as a check to see if it was a problem with new drivers, I installed an older version of the driver and it still behaved the same, so I reinstalled the newest drivers. I'm going to get with Wacom's support team and see if there is any known issues from their end. Thanks for your response. Double-checked this morning, and the problem does not exist here at my office where I have the nearly identical set up, with the exception of running Win 7 x64 instead of Win 8 x64. Same model tablet, same drivers from June of this year, same file. It seems to be an issue with Wacom, Win 8 and InDesign. I don't have any issues with Illustrator CC, PS CC or LR 5.

  • I am running a laptop with windows 7 on it and trying to use the save as feature in Photoshop CS6 and won't let me save as anything. Please help?

I am running a laptop with windows 7 and am trying to use the save as feature in Photoshop CS6 and it wont let me save as anything. Can someone please help me with this?

A screenshot of your Photoshop work area showing the open file you want to save as, the Layers panel open, and the Save as... dialog open might give us a clue as to what is going on.
To take a screenshot and save it as a file
For Windows 7, Printscreen, open a New File in Photoshop, Ctrl v to paste, then save as jpeg (the other trick was for windows 8)
Use the Camera icon on your reply to upload it.
Also File > Save for Web is a good workaround if you just need a jpeg, png, or gif.

Ok, look at your files in Photoshop. What is the profile assigned to them? You can find this out by going to the Status bar at the bottom, clicking on the right-pointing triangle and choosing document Profile from the list.
Then in Windows, go to your Control Panel > Color Management and add sRGB (if it isn't there) and select it as your default profile.
    I hope that will work.
