[GeForce 6] I'm Cheated/receive wrong specs...MSI 6800GT, a Problem...what should i do...???

I recently bought a graphics card which is the MSI 6800GT...after i browse aroung the net i found out that MSI has flawlessly manufactured the card by putting an NV40 gpu instead of NV45...

MSI sells over a million Vid Cards a Month. There were a total of 350 vid cards with the wrong Pipelines and Vertex Units. I had one of them, so that only leaves 349 of them out there. By now all the Vid Cards in question should have been sent in to MSI and swapped out.
I would run Riva Tuner and see how many Pipelines and Vertex Units your Vid Card, if you have 16 Pipelines and 6 Vertex Units, then you have the correct card.

FYI, you're primarily talking to other customers here.
As you've seen, Verizon doesn't do support by email.
When I call Verizon I try to do it during weekday business hours. That often gets me a helpful representative located in the states. It helps if you get to the retention people by selecting the options to cancel service.

Well, as we all know the IT industry changes really quickly but the problem is they usually release the upgrades before fully testing it. Due to this, a lot of bugs and loop holes come with the up-to-date systems and firmwares. I'm an IT so I know... Same with thousands of people who troubleshoot these kind of problems. Based on my experience the best action would be waiting for a couple of months after the release of (whatever it is) and joining forums like this (thanks to the people who offer help in this forum) so you would have an idea with the problems you might encounter if you're going to upgrade from one version to another. Eventually fixes for these mishaps would be released but it usually takes time to do so. So again, always be cautious when making the decisions since sometimes it makes things worse. (Learned my lesson when I upgrade my N70 without studying the effects)
All I can say is **bleep** happens (sorry for the language) but we'd have to accept these kind of things.

Logic Studio 2.0 purchased off Ebay... came with Logic Express 9 upgrade instead of full version, serial works to unlock registration but seems wrong and perhaps a loophole. What should I do?

I purchased what was advertised as a Full Version of Logic Studio 2 off ebay. It ended up being Logic Studio Pro 2 Upgrade and came with a copy of Logic Express 9 upgrade which did unlock the installation. I didn't realize it was the upgrade version til I saw the sticker in the upright corner of the box post installation. I feel like this is a loophole and not a legitimate installation now. Is this legit or should I acquire a full copy of Logic Express? The seller continously tells me that it's 100% legal and legit, etc.. I have already demanded he should send me or reimburse me enough to acquire a legitimate copy of Logic Express that supports the upgrade. Am I right in doing so? Or is it okay to use the Logic Express 9 upgrade copy to upgrade to Logic Studio Pro 2? Doesn't seem right. I'm very confused and would love some advice. Thank you in advance.

The Logic Express 9 upgrade package requires you should own Logic Express 8 Full.... for that to be a legal use of the Logic Express 9 upgrade serial which then you could use to register LP9/Logic Studio 2.0 upgrade package using the LS2.0 upgrade serial..
This is an apparent loophole, in my opinion, that is being exploited by the seller....
However, when in any doubt with anything regarding possible legal issues... contact Apple directly and ask them for their advice/opinion on the matter.

Just received a patch from a kernel developer, what should I do?

Hello, I have been in contact with the linux kernel scsi list because of some issues I have with a SAS controller, and recently a developer sent me a patch to try.
As I have not done this before, what is the best method to recompile only the affected module and replace it with the patched one?
(I want to avoid recompiling the complete kernel and rebooting)

T-Dawg is correct. You built the kernel module for a newer version, and then loaded it using an older kernel.
To build a stock kernel from the sources, do the following: (replace /usr/src/linux with where-ever the kernel sources actually are)
cd /usr/src/linux
make clean
make
make modules_install
make install
The second command cleans out all the binaries in the tree. The third builds the kernel and modules. The fourth copies the modules over to a directory in /lib/modules . The final one copies over the kernel image, the config, and the System.map over to /boot .
If all of this concludes successfully, you just need to update your boot loader to start the new kernel. For classic GRUB (Grub 1.x), edit the file /boot/grub/menu.lst as root. For new GRUB (Grub 2.x), run the command 'update-grub' as root and it should pick up any new kernels in /boot automatically.
In case all of this fails for one reason or another, check out the Arch docs for doing it the Arch way. That may be easier. The directions I've given here will work in any GNU/Linux distro so long as you have the Linux kernel source, gcc, and the correct development libraries and headers. (The development version of libncurses is needed for make menuconfig, for instance. That command brings up the ncurses dialog to change the current configuration of the kernel source tree you run it in.)
