MY NX6800 Ultra-T2D256 (AGP ONLY) IS RUNNING IN PCI MODE ON AN K8TNEOFSR 754 BOARD AND INFO ABOUT THIS IS VERY HARD TO FOUND OND YOUR SIGHT. ARE THE BIOS UPPDATED TO VIA® VT8237R CHIPSET WHITH AMI® BIOS 2.2 TO A SINGLE PCI X SLOT? AND IF SO HOW DO YOU INSTALL THE DRIVERS AND SET UPP BIOS TO KEEP RUNNING AT FULL SPEED:AFTER ALL IT WOULD BE REALLY GREAT IF I COULD HAVE IT UPP TO AGP8X AND NOT IN PCI AND I HAVE TRIED EVERY DRIVER AND COUPLE OF BIOS SETTINGS IT DOESENT STATE THAT IT IS PCI X JUST PCI MAYBE THE CARD IS FAULTY? I THINK IT SHOULD BE A BIT FASTER I DIDNT FIND ANY INFO IN THE MANUALS EITHER? I WOULD BE REALLY GRATEFUL FOR  AN ANSWER WBR NISSEHULTH.

  • NX6800 Ultra T2D256 Power problem...

I have read all threads I can find on the NX6800 Ultra T2D256 but can't find the solution. I keep getting the "power down because not enough power" error at the start up of XP Home. With the Thermaltake Purepower 560w ps, I'd think it is more than enough to power this card. I have installed the card in my son's computer and he get's the same msg. I have made sure the pins are tight and making contact, it's set up on one rail, and I have tried every combonation I can think of. I called Thermaltake and they say it should run the card fine so they are sending me a replacment ps. For some reason I just don't feel the replacment will do it. Could it be the card? Or is it the slow AMD 2100 CPU? I don't what that would have to do with the power problem of the video card though... I'm pritty sure everting is up to date but I could have missed something...
    Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Ok, I will try the 2 power cables again and I take it that nothing else but the card should be run on those 2 lines?
Also, that leaves me with only 2 power lines to run 2 cd/cdr, 2 HD's, and 1 floppy. I also have 5 case fans.
Now can you point me to an explination of what "replacing all the AGP/Gart drivers and doing a driver clean on the NVidia drivers" is?
I am running the ATI 850Pro on that computer right now so I know to un-install the ATI drivers of course before installng the NVidia card. I have never heard of "Gart" and didn't know there were seperate AGP drivers from the mother board drivers...
Still got a lot to learn and thank you for all your help...

  • Fx 5900 U with agp 8x runs in pci mode

I just bought a msi fx9500 ultra card with 8x agp but the configuration box shows it as a agp card running in pci mode, when i run dxdiag i cant enable agp.
i want the card to run in agp 8x mode, does someone knows a solution for this problem please help i am sure my mainboard supports 8x agp.
my harware congig looks like this:
    Intel 3.00 ghz
    1024 mb ddr kingston memory
875 p neo lsr mainboard from msi
    120 gb maxtor harddisk
and the msi geforce fx 5900 ultra vtd256 with 256 mb ddr

NewGamer you are running a system that locks you out of alot of the BIOS settings. An Intel board would work real good. It will give you most stable platform to build on and compatiblity second to none. only problem I have had with my new system was all ths crap software that came with the MSI video card. just make sure that after you install the operating system that u install the Chipset drivers first thing. by doing this it updates the INF files and things will be configured right. In the BIOS always have the plug and play OS set to NO that way windows will get it's instuctions from the system board for configuring things. and by the way my last system was a P3 933MHz with 512 MBs ram and a MX 440 card it played BF1942 fine, nice and smooth. I just lost alot of one on one fights the speed was not there.

  • Ti 4600 Running in PCI mode ?

    Hi,
I have downloaded the Squid & werewolf demo from the Nvidia site.... they seem to run very slow.... slower than my old Hercules Gforce 2 MX card ... Whys this ???
In the options I note it says ... Bus Type : AGP (PCI mode)
Is the card running in PCI mode or something ??? I thought it was a 4 x card ????
I have tried the drivers that came with the card and the Nvidia Detonator drivers... no difference ... Or do I need to turn something off ???
    2 Ghz Pentium 4
    512 Meg Ram
    Gigabyte 8irX Mobo
    MSI Gforce 4 Ti 4600
    Windows 2000 Professional
    Thanks in advance

    lee,
    That does not sound right.
I was looking at your Mobo and it is a i845 DDR Chipset.  That is a good chipset for AGP Card unlike the Via Based motherboards.
Is your motherboard the 8IRX or the 8IRXP?
If it is the 8IRXP BIOS F5 fixed:
    Quote
Fixed easytune show incorrect PCI frequency when AGP/PCI divider is changed in BIOS setup
But that was the only hint of anything related to the AGP that was fixed by BIOS updates.
If your BIOS is not the latest, (8IRX-F9, 8IRXP-F7) you could try flashing the BIOS to the latest Version.
    Good Luck,
    Richard

  • Temperature Check: Nvidia Ultra 6800 AGP & Quadro 4500 PCIe

    Hi Chris
    Hi BD
    Just curious about these temperatures:
Used Genuine Apple Ultra 6800 AGP - Temps run approx. 139F - 144F
Flashed Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 PCIe - Temps run approx. 112F - 118F
No PCI cards above the Video Cards - Fans Free & Clean
    Look ok?
    Thanx

MX-2 is very good; have used a couple tubes.
MX-3 is yet improved, with MX-4 being the latest and most highly refined....
MX-2 is more than adequate, a bit thicker (harder to apply) than other MX compounds.
Worth the effort, and best of all, won't fry components if one gets too much on.......

  • Burnt up GeForce 6800 Ultra NX6800 Ultra-T2D256

Ive got a MSI K7N2G-ILSR, AMD XP 2200+, 2*256 DDR RAM, Antec Truecontrol 500w PSU, and of course the grpahics card described above!
Ive bought this card exactly 9 days ago (Received it 2 days ago). Installation was a breeze, i was playing Call Of Duty 2 without any problems, such as glitches, random crashes etc.
Everything was fine until i left the computer turned on overnight, i was uploading a movie clip on the internet, a hardly demanding task, i am used to leaving the computer turned on all night, as i have owned this setup for the last 2-3 years (without the gfx card obviously), and it has been perfect since.
Around 4 AM, i awoke, because i was coughing. I could smell some plastic-ish burning smell. Fearing the worst, i realised the smoke was coming from the computer. Since the mains power supply is behind the desk and i cannot reach there quickly, i pushed and held the "On" button. After what seemed two minutes, (In reality it may have been 5 seconds, with the adrenaline, i am not too sure of the timeframe), I ran out of the room, and grabbed the fire extinguisher, that my dad insists on keeping, opened the side of the case as quickly as possible, and gave a shot to the interior of the case. This quickly put out the fire.
Upon closer inspection, after the power was cut, the Video card is unrecognisable, The PCB is now a hue of burnt black with patches of the original green where it wasnt affected much by the fire, also, the graphics card is permanently bonded into the Graphics Card Slot now.
Thankfully, no-one has been injured because of this incident.
As of today, i am still at the conclusion, the graphics card must have had a major fault, as the previous graphics card, a MSI Geforce FX 6200, had no problems.
Upon installation, correct procedures was followed, such as grounding myself, turning the power off etc.
The card or any of the components in my computer have NOT been overclocked, as a few measly megahertz is not worth the warranty. (Overclocking the graphics card is especially pointless, as it is already powerfull enough, the onboard Geforce 4 can handle the newest games thrown at it, at moderate settings)
The case itself is properly cooled with 3 Fans (2 Intake, 1 exhaust) and also the wiring is routed and tidy. The graphics card had the 2 4 pin molex power connected also.
As of present, i do not have a list of what is ruined in the fire, but in general terms, the Graphics Card and Motherboard is wrecked. (I havent turned the computer On again, due to what happened before). I suspect the CPU and RAM may have been damaged, Hard drives and optical drives should still be functioning, the case itself is blacked out on the inside with smoke.
Any ideas on what to do guys? This was a very expensive graphics card, that has just gone up in smoke.    I bought the card from the USA as a self xmas present, i would normally just RMA the graphics card, but it somehow melted-ish in the AGP slot, so i cant take it out. I cant take the motherboard out, because it is bolted and padlocked to the desk! (i've lost the keys). I would post some pics up, but i dont have a digital camera, or know anybody that would lend one to me. So any ideas on what i should do? Ive filled out a technical support form, but i havent had a reply yet.
    BiG K

First of all, I'd take pictures.
Then, I'd contact your local MSI subsidiary. Call them, don't bother with online forms or e-mail.
    How to contact MSI.
Can you tell exactly where the fire originated?
Please post pics...while I feel bad that happened to you, that is rare, and to geeks like myself, seeing the carnage is equal to a spectacular car wreck for some race fans

  • Kt400 ultra hanging when running wireless pci card with XP

I've tried installing two different wireless pci (802.11b) cards on my system.  Windows usually hangs within 1 to 3 minutes.  I've tried different pci slots, updating drivers, etc.  No go.  Can't find much on google, only thing I found was a possible conflict between wireless card and USB controllers.
    Anybody have any ideas.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I've got the same issue with KT3 Ultra2 + XP2000, wireless NIC Netgear WG311.
Tried a lot of tuning, from Bios setting to driver options, but nothing worked.
I'm sure this is not related to PCI revision ( 2.1 or 2.2 ) because this is running
pretty fine on the same computer under Linux Mandrake 9.1
I tried every possible combination of PCI slot / driver / Bios setting ...!!!!
The problem now is that, in addition to having found not workaround, I still do not
know where the problem come from : VIA chipset, Netgear driver, AMi Bios, ....
Don't know if I should change the motherboard or the NIC, or just wait for ....???
Any suggestion will be welcome !!!!

  • NX6800 Ultra

This may be quite an easy one, but I'm totally lost to whats happening, firstly card installed no problem there all drivers fine. Ok here comes the problems-
    1. When playing BF2,( I haven't installed the drivers supplied with the game at this point! ) the game starts all graphics showing full 32 bit settings at medium/high, map loads and at the game screen I see it minimap in all its technicolor, but the rest of the screen is black except for the player names! Now installed drivers and exactly the same problem
    2. When playing movies in media player the highest resolution only seems to be 4 colour

  • Geforce FX with agp speed 0.0 (PCI mode)

    Someone!! Help!!
Here is a brief description of the problem. I have a geforce FX and MSI K7N2G mainboard and I installed asus nvidia detonators. Once I uninstalled them (if you have a asus card I strongly reccomend not instaling the drivers) and installed 100% pure nVidia drivers. The problem is when I go to the hardware or agp tab in Geforce FX controll panel thingy, it says AGP 0.0 (Pci mode). I reinstalled nForce drivers, nothing helps.
    Someone!! Help!!
     ?(  ;(  ;(  ?(

Have you tried reinstalling the exact same drivers that it will not let you uninstall? If the reinstall is successful you should be able to uninstall them after you reboot. If you still cannot uninstall them after a reinstall you may have to reinstall the OS.

  • Msi geforce ti4200vtd 64 (PCI MODE)???

    specs:
    athlon xp 1700+
    msi k7n420 pro mobo
msi geforce ti4200 vtd 64 video
    256 pc2100 ddr
Using either msi or nvidia drivers, I can't get this out of pci mode.  Both card and mobo support 4x agp mode, but it only runs in pci mode.  Using msi drivers, changing to agp seems possible, but any check in the white box just disappears.  My 3dmark 2001se scores are about half what they were on a cheaper mobo using a 1gig duron.  Yes, the cpu settings are fine and it's running at its normal speed of 1.47ghz.  Nothing is overclocked.

    jeez, you are quick....thanks
i had the msi drivers, and it wouldn't let me change to agp anything... I uninstalled them and went to the detonator drivers, and agp is disabled in the ti4200 properties under the agp settings,
I dont see a place to enable it, and the slide scale to choose rate (1x,2x,4x?) won't move either.

  • GeForce FX 5200 Ultra

I recently ungraded my mobo to a MSI 845GE Max.  I also tried to install the PNY GeForce FX 5200 Ultra video card.  I am running Windows 2000.  When I try to install the drivers for the Video card, the system locks up on reboot and the login image is distorted.  The PNY FAQs suggest upgrading the Intel chipset, which I have done.  Still seems to be in conflict with the onboard vga controller.  When I disable the onboard vga driver, the system locks needing a hard reboot.  System runs great on the onboard graphics card, but I want to install a 3D card.
Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks,

    Hi gdiodati,
Try disabling your onboard VGA, then set your Init. Graphics Adapter Priority to AGP.
Set your AGP Aperture settings to 128MB or 256MB.
Set your AGP Capabilities to "Auto"
Make sure that its running on at least 4x(1.5v) or max 8x(0.8v).
Check if you've any other devices sharing IRQ with your VGA card.
    All the Best... :D!!!

  • How to flash ? nx6800 ultra

    as above, please help me..
im sick of my slow 6800ultra
    please help :(
steps on how to flash it
    thanks in advance

If you look up some of the 6800 Ultra threads, you will get a list of these problems and the way to sort them, Also it would Really helpful if you could give a list of your computer specs....
    - live update doesnt detect my card
Everyone has this, its just that MSI have not updated there Live update for the card yet!
    - ingame videoplayback error (choppy) [i.e farcry begining]
Your running Bios 14 which in alot of case the bios is faulty so change to bios 15,  look on the forums to where to get this and install it, Also sound like you need to use a program called driver cleaner and reinstall a fresh set of the newest drivers...
    - mood swing speeds (sometimes fast sometimes slow)
same again, bios change and drivers to resolve this
    - d.o.t (dynamic overclocking technology) doesnt work (infact hangs my com)
    Bios and drivers again
    - doesnt work with some games (doom 3.. monsters are so colourfully scary)
    hehe same answer
    - sometimes after alt-tabbing, displayed graphics is choppy [fuzzy] (like as if someone sneezed noodles out really hard and it hit the screen, leaving imprints)
i had this to with bios 14, sorted when i got bios 15
    - when i finally get to run 3dmark , the score for video card itself is 7000 +
LOL that not very good but that depends on what your computer specs are, i get around 12132 with a Athlon 3200+ 1g ram

  • [GeForceFX] Red lines on my GeForce FX 9950 Ultra

I have recently upgraded my Graphics card from a GeForce FX 5200 to a GeForce FX 9950 Ultra. I have had no problems with the 5200 model, but when i installed the 9950 card (which is HUGE!!!) the Loading up bios screen had red vertical lines all over it and when windows boots up it severly crashes and preforms a physical memory dump. The only way to get in to xp is to run from last good known settings but everytime it detects the new card and i install the latest drivers it crashes again.  When i put my old card back in (the 5200 fx) the computer works fine??? I have a 650w PSW, the MSI KT6V motherboard, 1024 of ram, 2 X 80 GB hard disks, 2 dvd burners, and an Athlon 3000+ barton processor, and im a novice with computers. Can any one help???? Its it A faulty card or am i plane dumb??? Any help will be well appreciated!!

I went out and got a spanking new 650w PSU for this card when i relised that it needed an extra power surply to it. Im just gutted cos its going to cos me to send it back to the ebuyer. thanks anyway. i just needed conformation incase i was being stupid and missed something obviouse.
