GeForce GTX 560Ti TF2 OC (Artifacting)

Good evening, or morning, or whatever it is where you are. I bought myself this card about 7-8 weeks ago, and it's been doing splendidly. However, in the past few days I have started to notice some artifacting, tonight, the artifacting went balistic. 3d models/shapes/objects were blown apart to hell and back.
The long and skinny
Temps are fine, peak 59°C under load
I have removed any Overclocks on the system
I updated the drivers
I ran ATiTool for artifacts,a nd it found none
I ran Kombustor, and it too popped up some artifacts, and after 5 or so minutes, it shot a ploygon out the side of the I
System:
AMD Phenom II 940
AMD 790GX NB
AMD 700 SB
PSU: Thermaltake ToughPower 775W
4x2GB PC80000 Memory
All temps are fine, and the card diagnoses ok, but there's definetly something going on.
Any ideas? because I can not fathom the idea of RMAingsuch a new card. I'm going to run back over to Frys and beg and plead tomorrow, but my hopes on that reality coming to fruition are not high.
If I have to RMA, does anybody know a way to both expedite it, and/or have MSI pay shipping both ways. I'm fed up as a consumer of having to pay a shipping "penalty"  for rubbish quality control/engineering.

Voltage was untouched, and I had a mild OC to 925Mhz and 2300mhz on the memory. Not exactly abusing the thing. Although, I don't run that OC unless I need it, and I haven't needed it, so it's been running stock. :(
Last night, I decided to pull it out and reseat it, and the artifacts appear to have stopped. but that kind of concerns me anyway, so I'm going to put the card through it's paces today, stress the heck out of it, and see if it holds together, then I'll call Frys, and see if they'll deal with me, if not, then I guess I'll have to go down the RMA path. Which I'm seriously tired of the RMA path.
It's not like I'm violent with the stuff either....
PC is a 24/7 rig, but power management stays in tact,
Mild non-24/7 OCs on everything but CPU, which is a 24/7 OC.
UPS for power filtering
I've always researched and bought good quality PSUs
I keep it dust free
I keep it well ventilated.
Yet I seem to be able to kill a lot of hardware. :(

I get artifacts (pink squares all over screen) in heaven benchmark, fluid benchmark and gta 4,  a few seconds  later I get a black screen and then an error message there windows tell me the driver has crash but praise msi it was successfully recovered. All this then the card is nearing 50 degrees Celsius.
    I have:

    Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H, Socket-AM3
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition

    DC OUTPUT    +3.3V +5V  +12V -12V  +5Vsb
    MAX LOAD    24A    30A  52A   0.8A   3A
I tested driver on msi site and the latest nvidia driver, even tested some beta driver. All give the same result as stated above. I also tested to set the clocks at reference speed but no go. Also tested voltage at 1025.

Got a new card today, same card but new.
No problems now, seem the new card has newer bios and lower  core voltage. Maybe that is a way to fix it, just upgrade bios.

  • [solved] MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti

Ok, I'm sorry to make my debut on this forum a cry for help, but here it goes.
Just bought a MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti as my old card said goodbye with flickering colors and Code 43 error.
Uninstalled the old drivers, removed the old card, slotted in the new one, powered up and was hoping for the best. The result? Nothing.
Nothing but beeps from the BIOS (2+8), and a screen who wont react at all. Just goes off in to power saving mode.
    Any ideas?
EDIT: I'm so stupid, I should have been required to carry a license. Problem solved by myself.

  • Nvidia Quadro 600, GeForce GTX 560 Ti or cheaper for Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3?

    Hello,
I am a professional photographer and I am setting up a new PC (i7, Windows 7 64bit). But I have some troubles to choose the graphic card.
I use Lightroom and Photoshop CS5 3, no video editing.
Between the Open GL, Open CL, CUDA accelerations etc ... professional graphic cards models and consumer ones I am lost!
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti seems more powerful and more versatile but I tell myself that if Nvidia has professional range there must be a reason.
So in Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3 what would be the best: GeForce GTX 560 Ti or Nvidia Quadro 600?
    http://www.geforce.com/Hardware/GPUs/geforce-gtx-560ti/specifications
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-quadro-600-us.html
Any reason to get a Quadro 2000?
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-quadro-2000-us.html
Or the graphic card doesn’t matter much and I should take an entry-level GeForce to enjoy the HDMI and the silence? Which one then?
Does the Quadro 600 manages 10bits display 10bits? And the Geforce?
Any change announced with Photoshop CS6 and Ligthroom4?
The only 3D application I use is Google Earth in 3D mode, does it make any difference?
    Thank you for your help.

You say "no video editing"...  If that's going to be the case, and you won't use the Mercury engine in the Adobe Premiere Pro package, which needs the nVidia Cuda subsystem, then I recommend you consider the ATI brand over nVidia.
    Why?
Because while neither brand's developers (ATI or nVidia) always release perfect drivers, I find ATI display drivers to be of consistently higher quality than that of nVidia releases.  What this means to you is generally fewer crashes or quirks.  ATI has also traditionally supported older cards into the future better than nVidia - this might matter to you in a few years.
People ask me what video card I would recommend, and right now that would be a VisionTek ATI Radeon HD 6670 1 GB GDDR5 card.  I like this particular card because:
I've had 100% success with VisionTek cards in a number of different systems, not only initially but they have all run as long as I have used them, without ever breaking down.
The 6670 model uses very little power (under 70 watts) and as such doesn't stress your computer's power supply, need a separate power connection, nor make a lot of fan noise.
It's not the fastest card made for 3D gaming, but it's inexpensive and excellent for Photoshop.  No matter what you choose, you should get a card that scores over 500 on the Passmark GPU benchmark, ideally over 1000:  http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/
The ATI Catalyst display driver implementations for the 4670/5670/6670 line of cards have been good and solid.
1 GB of on-card memory seems to be a good size, even for editing a lot of images, and GDDR5 memory provides faster access than DDR3.
You should know that besides using Photoshop heavily, I also develop OpenGL-based software as well, so I have some additional insight into driver implementations.

    -19" hanns.g monitor
    -750w psu
In Afterburner i can see the temp running ok just above 40c so that seems ok so im not sure whats up with it.
I got this just in time for xmas and i can't play with it  :(
    please help!

I was afraid of that. means i will have to buy a new PSU then. I'm looking at these..
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 750W V2 High Performance '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CMPSU-750TXV2UK)

I'm thinking of getting the 850w one because it only costs a little more and will be future proof.
    What would be your recommendation?
wish i could test tho before buying but i don't have any other PSU's and don't know any one that does have a good one to use.

  • MSi GE70 Apache Pro w/ nVidia GeForce GTX 860M Graphics Issues

    Hi there,
I recently purchased an MSi gaming notebook with nVidia GTX 860M graphics. However, just recently I've been having game-breaking issues with textures rendering, artifacts and particles as well as the drivers crashing now and again(desktop flashing and flickering).
I've only had this laptop for just over two months and am quite disappointed with issues coming up already.
To get to the specifics; I have recently been playing through the Mass Effect trilogy and, just the other day, started up a file in Skyrim. The following screenshots show my biggest issues aside from the obviously serious driver crashing issues. I believe the issues started maybe a month into owning this laptop and since it has been getting progressively worse. I feel as though I have been all over the internet trying to find a fix to this, I've tried everything suggested, everything that I could think of, and I am just about ready to have it sent back. I was hoping someone may have some other options before I do send it in.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/d8koa8f8i1z9j3d/Photo%202014-09-30%2C%201%2040%2044%20AM.jpg?dl=0
On the title screen for Mass Effect 3 I get these consistent blue and red glowing orbs, they also occur on several other maps within gameplay.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/a9c47w320u5xylb/Photo%202014-09-30%2C%201%2043%2016%20AM.jpg?dl=0
Once I get in-game, this occurs everywhere. Textures "expanding" off of characters into random points.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/v37un4vespalosx/Photo%202014-09-30%2C%201%2045%2036%20AM.jpg?dl=0
This happens occassionally on characters; ridiculously shadowed faces to the point where they are barely recognisable.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/8cebgs4t10ghnh0/Photo%202014-09-30%2C%201%2046%2020%20AM.jpg?dl=0
On almost all wall textures there are white glowing particles like the ones behind the character here. In extreme cases, the wall becomes a texture of textures. All of the textures in the game are miniaturized into a wall of textures on certain objects.
I've also had signs and the game's menus and interface stretched and skewed all over the place. If I continue to play it with the above issues, the game eventually hangs and I have to alt+tab out and back in, or close it using the task manager. All of these issues also occur in Skyrim and any game using the same, or similar, engines. The only game I have been able to play almost seamlessly without any issues is Ragnarok Online 2, an online MMORPG.
    I have tried the following:
nVidia's GeForce Control Panel: any and all combination of options.
    Re-installing video drivers.
    Re-installing DirectX and PhysX.
Formatting and a fresh install of Windows and all games and drivers.
Any other troubleshooting other forums have provided.
Removing the pagefile for virtual memory limits.
Using Intel HD graphics to test for other issues.
    PC/nVidia power settings.
The one time I thought it may be fixed, all it took was me plugging in my laptop to cause the issues all over again. I've tried downloading MSi Afterburner to check GPU temperatures and I rarely even go over 65~70. I'm absolutely out of ideas. It was suggested to me by a family member that it may be a hardware issue, hence the consideration for sending it in.
    I'm running Windows 7 64-bit
    nVidia GeForce GTX 860M
    Intel Core i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz
    12GB of RAM
Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated. I would really rather not have to send it back. I've also posted this over at the nVidia forums because I'm -hoping- it's a software issue.
    Thanks in advance!

To me it sounds like a hardware issue (especially if you have rolled back to factory default and reinstalled from scratch)
It wouldn't be a hardware issue since you can play other games without problem.
Easiest way to tell if it's a hardware issue or not is to run the benchmark tool for example 3DMark 11 and see if the problem also happens during the benchmark.
For the rendering problem you were talking, please provide not only the problem picture but also the picture without problem to let us make the comparison.
I'm sorry to say, but some of the picture I'm not really getting what the problem you're talking about.
For the shadow face, here are few user provided fix which might be helpful.

I'd suggest to post the issue on EA, steam or obioware and see if there are people looking into it.

  • GTX 560Ti Blank Screen on Boot

    Hello guys,
I purchased a MSI GTX 560Ti (Twin Frozr-II edition) 5 months back. Recently, when booting...I kept getting a "No Signal" message from the monitor. There was activity on the PC , it managed to get past the POST (beep sound) and eventually I did hear the Windows 7 login music. But the screen was still black.
After restarting the PC a couple of times, I managed to get normal display again. Shut down the PC after around 4 hours of gaming , but on the next boot I had the same black screen issue. Again , a couple of reboots later - the monitor managed to get the signal.
I even plugged the card into my friend's PC , but the same black screen problem was there too. Just for testing , I tried plugging my old Geforce 9600 GT and I got normal display on the monitor.
Well, it pretty much continued in this fashion for around 2 weeks , then the card absolutely refused to give any signal to the monitor despite countless restarts. I took the card for RMA to the service centre , and when the technician plugged it into his motherboard, the card was running fine!
Brought the card back home and plugged it into my mobo , and behold...normal display! Well, it didn't last long because the motherboard died 2 hours later.
I've given the motherboard for RMA, but I'm still concerned about the card. It was malfunctioning on my PC , didn't work on my friend's PC (the card was fully powered mind you) , but then decided to work at the RMA centre. What could possibly be wrong with it?
    Here's my config :
    Intel Core2Quad Q6600 (2.4 ghz)
    ABIT IP-35E Motherboard
    5GB DDR2 800 Ram
MSI GTX 560Ti Twin Frozr II
    Corsair VX450W
    1x250 GB HDD , 1x200 GB HDD
    Windows 7 Ultimate Edition
I was told that the VX450W was capable of powering the GPU (and it did quite well...for 5 months). Btw , my friend's PC was running a slightly identical configuration. He had a Corsair VX450W as well.
I'm not sure if the problem is in the card itself or something else. Just to be on the safer side, I'm also going for a PSU upgrade (Corsair TX750W) when my motherboard returns from RMA.

Personally, I prefer to have a PSU with an extra 5 or 6 amps to spare on the +12v rail.  The VX450 only can deliver 33A and the recommendations for a system with a 560Ti is 31A(probably a system with 2 sticks ram, ONE HDD, and one ODD).  2 extra amps is cutting it a tad close in my book.  And remember, any overclock, CPU and/or the GPU will increase the number of amps needed.  The TX 750 should serve very well.

When I update Nvidia drivers to anything new than 306.97 after a few days I get a TDR driver crash or artifacts.  310.70 would cause driver crashes. 310.90 caused artifacts in Civ 5 in the diplomacy screen which renders a 3d model of a civilization's leader.  This screen is much different than the rest of the game's graphics.  The artifacts didn't carry over to the normal graphics.  314.22 caused a TDR crash today.  I rolled back to 306.97 whenever a driver failed as these have been very stable.  I used these drivers from the end of January until the start of April without issues.  I have double checked my system settings with all matching the specs of my parts; Ram, CPU, PSU, etc.  I have no overclocks beside the factory OC that comes with the GPUs.  Is there anything I can do to check if this is an issue is linked to my GPUs?  Could this just be a series of bad drivers released by Nvidia?
    Any help is appreciated.

I followed your instructions and have installed a fresh download of the 314.22 drivers.  During Driver Fusion's cleanup a small window opened stating that Driver Fusion could not remove all the files due to being a trial version.  For a full clean I would have to buy the Premium Edition.  Will this have any effect on your troubleshooting instructions?
I will reply if/when this drivers had any issues.  It could be a few days based on my past experience.

  • MSI GTX 560Ti TWIN FROZR II 1GB GDDR5

Currently I'm experiencing a problem where no matter what I'm doing, whether it is gaming or browsing, green/orange chequered squares appear exactly as in the picture below:
The problem lasts for a matter of seconds and then windows informs me that the drivers have recovered from a failure. This is very remininsant, but not identical, to when I had a 9800GT that died. This issue has only started within the last month and the card is over 6 months old. Is this likely to be a GPU issue?

    Thermaltake 500W PSU

Sadly I've no way of testing the card in another PC or a different PSU.
What is the likelihood that it is the PSU even though the card has been performing flawlessly for almost a year? Also I could understand if it was causing artifacts just when gaming due to power load, but it happened when I was merely surfing the net, where power draw doesn't even reach 300W.
Is a known solution to this issue an increase in Watts or is there a chance that it is a problem with the GPU?

    Hey guys,
I have an MSI GTX 560ti Twin Froz II OC card which was giving me weird artifacts on desktop and many random places so i send the card to rma. They replaced it with a same model MSI GTX 560ti Twin Froz II OC card but since i got this card i am getting very high temperatures like it reaches 90-95 C in 10 minutes and keep rising with fan speed 100% in games like Dota 2,Grid 2 and many other games so is there anything i can do to solve this problem.
My Nvidia Driver Version- 320.14 i have even tried 320 but the same result.

  • 560ti TF2 1g OC possible issues

Let start with my system specs
    CPU: i-5 2500k
    M/B: Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3
    Ram: 2x4g g.skill Ripjaws f3-12800cl8d-8gbxm

    PSU: Corsair 850w TX
    SSD M-4 crucial
OS: win 7 64 home premium
I have been getting very random texture bugs, flickers on lighting and shadows.  I only play a few games so I will note what issues I have had per game
WoW: 1. The lightning effect has flashed in the foreground blocking foreground textures with a brief white square like texture where the lightning has occurred on screen.  This has only happened a few times.
               2. Similar to the lightning effect but regarding shadows.  A black texture would flash on an area or texture then return to normal.  This has only happened a few times as well.
GW2: 1. Rarely I would see black square or texture block flash on the screen, usually happens during movement or turning.  Doesnt happen that often compared to WoW
              2. Flashes of white or black at the corners and side of my screen, this happens the most often out of all the issues.
Alt-tabbing: At times I would alt tab the screen would go black for a second or two with a broken up white line going horizontally across the screen.
UAC /also firewall prompts:  A few time the screen would turn black before the prompt would pop.
MSI Kombustor: I have run the various tests but havent seen any issues.  The only thing I can comment on is the GPU burn-in test.  The words are blue with red lighting on the sides that varies as the image rotates.  Im not sure if this is an issue.  I thought I would mention it as 1 of the 560s tint everything red but I have since RMA'ed this card and have received a different card according to the serial.  The burn-in test heats up my top slot GPU to over 90C.  The other only push it 75C
Heaven dx11 benchmark:  I used this program to so I can run it in a loop watching for bugs while not being distracted by a game.  Not every pass produced the issues above but at certain points the same issue would occur every 1 of 5 or so passes.
    1. The sky would flash white at the scene showing all the islands
    2. During the night scene cross a bridge the building on the right at the end of the bridge would flash black
    3. During the evening scene pass a building on the left going to the dock the airship was next to the white broken up line would flash while passing the building on the left
    4. I had one instance of the screen showing square pink pixels at the top of the screen when a new scene was loading.  This could of been cause due to me changing the settings during the scene.  I have not seen it since or been able to reproduce it.
    5. The scene from the small island over looking the town the smaller house's texture would bug out.  At time parts of it disappeared, bug out completely or the shadow effect on the roof would turn into a lighting effect.
What I have not seen or has happened are any drive crashes, bsods, hardlocks or type artifacts I have seen in other pictures and videos.  This is why I am not 100% sure about these issues as artifacts are usually very obvious and easier to reproduce.   No overheating on an part aside from the burn-in test hitting 95C.  Normal temps on hit 50-60 on the GPUS, 40-50 on the CPU, HDD stays around 35.
Im not an expert when it comes to troubleshoot.  Previous issues have been very obvious such as a red tint.  Other issues were due to the fans making a grind noise.  These were easy to figure out so didnt require much effort on my part.  If you can suggest any tests I can run I would appreciate it.  I do not have another system that is capable of using any of my current hardware so I am limited to the hardware my system has and whatever tests I can run.

Sorry Ive never run a Vbios update before.  Should I burn the files to a Dvd and run it booting or in the OS.  What are the commands I need to use ?  I browsed over the different command lines but I have no idea which one I need to use.

Or do I just run the windows script called flash?  Seems like the obvious choice but bios updates tend to brick parts if done wrong.  A lot of users with my M/B didnt follow instructions and bricked their boards which is very I want to be 100% sure what I should be doing
leave only card1 installed in computer [remove/take out the second one temporary]
then extract all files in some folder, and click on "flash", confirm with Y when asked,
then wait to finish [dos windows will self close] then power off/shutdown the computer and add the second card too

  • MSI GeForce GTX 970 with MSI Z68A-GD55 (G3) motherboard

    Hi!
I have seen a similar issue here that was resolved with the help of this forum. (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=251322.0). I still want to ask my questons however, since I have a slightly different situation.
I recently bought a new Graphics card, a MSI GTX 970, to replace my older EVGA GTX 570. After installing it, the time it takes to startup the computer is quite a bit longer. The very begninning of the startup process is the part that takes longer, I see a black screen and "B2" in the lower right hand corner, with the older GPU this was seen for a few seconds but now it stays that way for about a minute. After that I see some random colors in stead of the MSI logo and then the regular "Starting Windows" image appears, from there the startup is as fast as before.
When the computer has started it seems to work perfectly, and the new graphics card is great, everything on "ultra" in games etc.
I guess the way to resolve this issue is to update BIOS. I am a bit afraid of this however, of the risk of destroying something.
What would be your suggestions? Is it better to update bios or to leave it as it is, since the computer works? Are the any risks with keeping this bios version, that seems to have some issue with the graphics card?
Any help would be greately appreciated!
    /Johan

    Ok, thanks for the advice.
I have started looking at the instructions and have downloaded the installer and the bios file. It seems Norton Internet Security has some problem with the installer.  When I start the installer it reaches the point when it shows the current bios version, after that it is interupted by Norton. The reason that Norton gives is that it has found something called "Suspicious.Cloud.9.B" in the file b4.bks. How should I react to this?

Been using the same setup since CS5 with the Mercury CUDA running perfectly. After recent upgrade of OS X to 10.9 Mercury CUDA is no longer available and only lets me run with the OpenGL or software options. Im using a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 for apple computers. Hi Wendell,
Sorry for the inconvenience. NVIDIA is currently working on drivers that support CUDA on Mavericks 10.9 with some of the older NVIDIA cards such as the GTX 285 and the Quadro 4800.
For others interested, the Quadro 4000, K5000 and GTX 680 ect... work with CUDA in 10.9.

I have latest CUDA drivers, so i guess i am just waiting till a proper update that have the fixes to support my card.

    Hi:
There is a specific order you need to install the graphics drivers for the notebooks with the nvidia/intel graphics.
    1. Install the Intel chipset installation utility and reboot.  If the one on your notebook's support page doesn't work, use this one.

    2. Install the Intel HD graphics driver and reboot.  If the one on your notebook's suport page doesn't work, try this one.
