Geforce GTX 760 why is my system slow?

I need help with my NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX760 card, it is fully capable of handling the job, I don't know why failing to meet my expectations.  Its slow and sluggish as my system below far excess the specs..  Feedback would be greatly appreciated...
Running CC2014 Premiere Pro
Win 7  new system, this is strictly an editing computer no facebook or games, etc...
I7-4960 Extreme @3.60Ghz
64 GB running Corsair Vengence Pro DDR3- 2400 MHZ
motherboard ASUS X79+
3 SSD drives plenty of room
1200 watt power
-Very stable system.
Resource monitors show the CPU, and memory are hardly breaking a sweat.  The hang up must be with the GPU, if so what the heck?
BTW, I installed CC2014 PP on my 3 year labtop and it runs way smoother then my monstrosity of a computer listed above.  What is going on?

Not everything uses CUDA... read this

Not sure by what "getting very slow"or "I always have to render that project" means but I assume you are having less than stellar performance.
What version of Premiere, what is the footage you are working with, what effects, if any, are you applying, what are you trying to get done?
I have an EVGA GTX760, i7 4771, 32GB and I have no performance issues in Premiere CC 2014.2. Renders are about 3-5% slower than CC but editing is real time with no issues.

LoL...... I've not used any DVI cables for almost 2 years.
The last card I used was MSI R7770-2PMD1GD5/OC & no problem. Waiting for MSI Nvidia card with 2x mDP or DP ports.
Why must I use back DVI cables?
    http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/3dvision-surround/system-requirements
DVI + DVI + (HDMI or mDP)
The DVI connector is always the primary output, so it's a good idea to start with it.
On the other hand, a GTX 760 is not powerful enough for triple monitors.
If you're a gamer, you'll face a terrible perfomances drop in most of the recent games.
For triple monitors (3D Surround), Nvidia recommends a GTX 780 or 2 x GTX 770 in SLI.

  • Editing 4k RED files in CS6, does SLI help in playback and editing? (GeForce GTX-760 vcard)

I just bought a GeForce GTX-760 card and noticed great improvements to video playback over my old card.
I want to start editing RED 4k files and be able to play them back in 4k, currently I can achieve smooth playback in 1/2 resolution, but thought if I bought a 2nd card and used the SLI I'd be able to get 4k to playback on my system... would this work?
I've been doing searches for this, but can't find much on using SLI in Premiere CS6...
Short of getting a RED Rocket, how could I achieve smooth RED 4k playback and editing in CS6?
    Thanks all!
    Aza

WIth CS6 you are limited to ONE video card.
With CC, SLI does not help. See Tweakers Page - What video card to use?
A second video card can help marginally with CC only, but the one thing that really helps is more cores, more L3 cache and higher clock speed.

  • MSI GeForce GTX 760 Startup freeze.

Hi, first I'll start by listing specs:
    -MSI geforce gtx 760, 4gb GDDR5
    -Gigabyte H81.Amp-Up, LGA 1150
    -Intel Core i5 4570 LGA 1150
    -Corsair Vengeance LP, 2x4gb
    -Seasonic S12II-620Bronze (620 watt)
    -Windows 8.1 64-bit
I just recently attempted my first build, while putting the hardware together seemed like a breeze, the updating did not go so well. I booted up installed windows and went on as normal. When I opened a game it was extremely sluggish, so I decided to see if updating the drivers for the GTX 760, First I visited the official site for the drivers and once downloaded and installed was prompted to restart to finish the download. Once it restarted the entire system seemed to freeze just before windows started up. I had control of the mouse, but windows seemed to never start up. Since I couldn't access Windows I decided to re-install it. It booted as normal, so I decided to use the CD that came with the videocard.  The exact same thing happened. I was thinking of updating BIOS, but that was a last resort sort of thing since I am admittedly not very tech savvy. Thank you ahead of time for your responses.

I actually found the problem late last night sorry I didn't post until now. The videocard wasn't getting enough power, I just switched leads. Thanks though.

I see that you are looking to install the GeForce GTX 760 in your Pavilion. I did some research and the Pavilion only has PCI Express 1.0 slots and your GeForce requires a PCI Express 3.0 below I have included the links to the specs for both pieces of hardware.

  • New Build - evga nvidia geforce gtx 760 only running x8?

New build of x99s sli plus. Going mostly well, but I can't get my GeForce gtx 760 to run at x16, only x8.
    Config:
    MSI x99s sli plus
    Plextor PCIe M.2 card
evga gtx 760 in top slot (only 1 video card)
    32 gig 2133 RAM
Also have 3 additional  PCIe cards: Firewire, SATA, Audio.
    (4) HDD as RAID 10 in SATA 1-4
    sata 7-8 ODD's
AFAIK, the video card should be running at x16.
Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks

    Quote from: VideoDave100 on 17-November-14, 05:41:09
    Thanks for input:
    The audio card in PCI_E4
    sata card in PCI_E5
    firewire card in PCI_E6
(I'm afraid I might know where this is going, but will appreciate explanation)
Power supply is Corsair HX 850
Now we know why the vga is at x8. Your cpu just offers 28 lanes. No matter what card you use once E5 and E6 are populated lanes are auto switched for multi gpu. Use all x1 slots and the third card in PCI_E3

  • 'Which is better quality?' EVGA or MSI - Nvidia GeForce GTX 760

    Hiya
I am looking for feedback and suggestions on which manufacturer creates the best video card hardware particularly the 760 I am currently looking at two cards but am also open to other suggestions and feedback on cards
has anyone had any experience with MSI video cards?
these are the two cards I currently have in mind

does the MSI have any advantage over EVGA in longevity with something like solid state Japanese capacitors? I am kinda looking for a card that will last the longest with out warranty support ect
and do MSI cards have rust problems? I thought I would ask just to be sure when I made a account I saw this thread at top of forum with a picture that will surely haunt my dreams

This is an MSI forum. Discussing competing brand's products is not allowed. The MSI card is a great one. Google it and check online reviews.

No, I'm using all kinds of MSI vgas for more than 10 years and have never seen anything like the pic in that thread. It's something the user did physically to this card as that doesn't happen just after time.

  • GPU for Premiere Pro CC, Geforce GTX 760?

    Hello!
I am looking into purchasing a new GPU for running Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC. I have gone over the lists of approved GPUs for each software, and I noticed that the Geforce GTX 760 is an approved card for After Effects, but not Premiere Pro. I was wondering if anyone could explain the performance issues I might encounter using the GTX 760 with Premiere Pro? From what I have read, it seems that the Mercury Playback Engine will have to run off of the CPU if an improved GPU is not installed in the computer. Is that indeed the case? And if not, are there other features in Premiere Pro that might not work well with the GTX 760?
    Thanks!

Adobe's approved list virtually always lags behind hardware releases due to the time it takes to test/certify new cards
My understanding is that PPro CC will use that card without problems

What card do you have exactly? By the way meanwhile there is a GOP vbios for the OP but your individual card needs to be checked. You can't use any random vbios from techpowerup or such as even for the same model there are different versions depending on the batch of card.

I have tried at least 3 driver version (335.23, 334.89, 320.63, and the one on the included on the CD... not sure if it is on of those) and the result is always the same.
I can go to safe mode without any problem.
