  • Built-In TV Tuner in MSI Geforce4 MX460-VTP ?

I notice that MSI Geforce4 MX 460-VTP has TV-Encoder Philip 7108.  People also claim that after the installation of Capture driver, the Device Manager also shows these 4 devices in Sound, Video & Game Controller :
    - NVidia XP WDM Audio Capture
    - XP WDM Crossbar
    - XP WDM TVTuner
    - XP WDM Video Capture
As I also have Leadtek WInfast TV2000-XP, it also installed these 4 devices.  Does it mean that the card already has a TV Tuner function on-board and I can get rid of the Leadtek TV200-XP card ?
However, I remember correctly that the spec for this card doesn't mention anything about TVTuner function.
    Can anyone explain ?

    Hey there,
I've got exactly the same setup.
Using the MSI geforce 4 4600 and a Winfast XP/2000 TV Tuner
Huge Problems...like I can't get the Winfast card to work.
The system recognizes it and installs the Winfast version WDM drivers. Great right?!?!?! ,
Well after installing the Winfast APP (newest version), I get no TV?!?!
I can't remember exactly where the problems started.
But at one point, my system worked perfectly.
I think it may have something to do with either installing the WDM drivers on the MSI CD or Windows XP Pro.
I've emailed Leadtek support and they couldn't find a solution. So they've asked me to RMA the card.
    Some other things to note.
After removing the card and all instances of the drivers and app. I still get errors in my event viewer...all saying that the device is not present. No !!!
If you know how to get rid of the errors...please enlighten me.
    Does your setup work?!?!?!

    Hi
On Live Update 2 I found bios for G4 MX460 - MS-8863-M7.I have 8863 card.Does anybody knows what is the difference between those two card's.
BTW. I could not find any info about MS-8863-M7.
And I need to flash Vga bios because my card works fine only with 28.32 driver. Can I use bios for 8863-M7?

update your card bios with the msi live thingie..
tv-in/out doesnt work out of the box with any drivers (except 27.?? and 28.32, which are, mm, crap)
i'd recommend using 30.87 drivers (download the stereo drivers from nvidia site) and newest wdm, 1.22, i think..

try riva tuner and the regfile he talks about
nvidia do this in drivers to early via boards as agpx4  a lot of the time never worked properly on them
so the drivers override the bios

  • Video capture max resolution 1024x768?

    Hi,
I have a Geforce3 MX460-VTP card, and in the box it says that the video capture resolution can go up to 1024x768, but when I try to capture, tha max resolution with all of the softwares I used is 720x480.
Does the card not deliver what it promisses, or do I have some sort of driver problem?
Althogh I think this is a common problem, I could not find anything similar on the forum archives.
    Thanks.

  • G4 MX460 -VT - capture

    I bought a G4 MX460 in September 2002 and I have many problems:
1.it does not give any TV out with the LATEST MSI or Nvidia drivers. I had to go back to (old) version 2.7.2.0 of the VGA driver to make it work. This card will not give TV output if you are using the following (new) versions of the VGA driver, 2750, 2890 or 2940 or 3100 ?
2.it dosen't work with any drivers version for video capture(nVidia WDM Video Capture drivers) I have digital camcorder JVC that it's working very well on the USB port...but dosen't with Video In. (I got the message "the device is used by another application" ...but there isn't another application I checked everything ...)

  • Lockups, Crashes: WinXP or MB-related?

    Error   5-Oct   1:47   acpi   None   5
IE was open & in use for the Oct. 8th errors.  These errors were generic and referenced an "Unknown device driver" without providing any details.  The system did not lock up.
The approx 9 AM Oct. 7th errors are interesting.  These were failures while the system was idle & in standby mode.  When I returned about 12:30 PM & hit the keyboard/mouse, the system froze.  I needed to powerdown & reboot, but the system came back up.  Not the fasttx2K Promise driver is referenced.
The Oct 5th errors are also interesting as these occurred immediately after system went into standby mode.  I woke up the next morning & was unable to bring up system.  Eventually I rebooted & the system reported failure on the RAID1 array.  I recovered by checking drives with SeaTools; sweeping with Norton; and using sfc scannow command.  No problem found with my SATA drives.  I then reimaged RAID drive 2 to RAID 1 drive and system operation returned to normal.
Any comments or suggestions regarding these errors?  While I suppose these could be a WinXP issue, I also note each error refernces hardware:  ACPI, fastx2K, or "unknown driver error."  AS of 10 days ago, My drivers are current, incl BIOS ver 2.3 for MB and ver 1.29 for Promise Controller; and Intel MB driver up-to-date as well.
Only devices I feel might be nonstandard are:  (a) Soyo 6:1 card internal flash card reader, plugged into USB ports on my MB; and (b) PCI-based USB card.  Rest, I believe are std cards/devices with signed drivers.
    Thx.

    IBM DeskStar 45GB 7200 rpm
    17" AOC 7GLr
I have tried various graphic card drivers (both drivers that were on CD supported by MSI and downloaded detonators from nVidia), for my monitor i have correct drivers from AOC. I was able to set refresh rate to 100Hz using PowerStrip 3.3. In SiSoft Sandra Professional i found warning, that i should use PnP/DDC compatible monitor or video adapter.
Guys from AOC support told me, that problem is probably in my graphic card.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance.  :(

I experienced the same problem with a new msi 440mx VTD (8x). I tried the latest detonator drivers (41.07 and 41.09) and could not get more than 75Hz refresh in any resolution, though the configuration told me it was 85Hz. In Monitor Inf my Iiyama MT-9017T has the specs 96kHz and 55-160Hz, that used to give me 1024x768@100Hz with my old graphics adapter.
    my configuration:
    Athlon XP 1600+
    Epox KTA3pro (KT133a)
    WIN2000

The more information you give, the more likely somebody here can help you.  Here's a hint from the Forum Guide:
"Before posting a question, create a signature using the Profile button at the top of the screen, and then clicking the Edit Signature button. In this signature include all the components that make up your system:
-Motherboard type and model (MSI 865PE Neo2 FIS2R)
-Bios type and revision (AMI rev 1.9)
-CPU type and model (AMD Athlon FX-51)
-Memory name, model and quantity (Kingston KHX4000K2)
-Video card name and model plus drivers and version (MSI GeForce4 Ti4800SE)
-Power Supply name, model and the amp rating for the +3.3V, +5V and +12V lines plus any limitation on the +3.3/+5V combined watts. This information can be found on a sticker on the side of the supply.
-Hard Drives: Manufacturer, type and size and which IDE or SATA ports they are located on
-Optical Drives: Manufacturer and type and which IDE ports they are located on
-Operating system and service pack level"
Good luck and please repost with all the info.  Even if something worked in your old system, it might be incompatible with something in your new system.

  • Dead MSI Fan on Geforce4 TD64

*sigh*.. I noticed a lot of my games were freezing constantly. I reinstalled every driver imagineable.. no change.  I reformatted my system and reinstalled WinXP Pro... no change.  I pulled out some hair.  No change.. at least to the computer.
I look inside the box and realise the freakin' fan for the MSI Geforce4 Ti4200 64MB card I have JUST recently bought has STOPPED.  So of course the card is heating up and freezing.
I took a can of compressed air and flushed out the fan and now it seems to turn.. but I feel its turning a lot slower than before..
    Suggestions?

sadly I WORK for the retailer.. and they arn't going to help me at all.  We RMA every defective product  ;(
So.. lets say I DO call MSI.. what kind of horrendous turnaround time am I looking at?
Or should I just buy a Thermaltake Geforce4 heatsink/fan assembly and replace it myself..
