Geil PC4000 won't run in 1T? (K8N Neo2)

Hi!
My system is in my sig. I bought recently a Geil PC4000 Ultra plat. 2x512MB. I get nice overclocking reaching my cpu limit 1:1, but only at 2T. 1T won't post. Is there something to do with the BIOS or something else?
Thank you!

Sorry for that. I have an Enermax EG-465P 460W Power Supply which is plenty of power in my opinion. It also has lot of ampers in the 12V line: 33A and 35A for the others.
Yes, I'm using a modded BIOS: 1.41 from here: http://www.lejabeach.com/MSIK8N/k8nneo2.html
Using official 1.4 makes Windows NOT BOOT no matter which memory I'm using! I have the MSI technical support supposedly working this issue. There is the Windows logo extremely slowly fading in and finally freezes. This does not happen with 1.3.
I tried reverting to 1.36MOD which I used with some success before, but after the flash, Windows didn't want to boot saying that there was an error with a file called something like "biosinfo.inf". As I'm writing this, I figured out what is the problem with that file: I moved every file from windows\inf to a temporary inf2 directory so that I could cleanly install new video drivers without Windows automatically installing old drivers. I'm putting back the files in the original location and I'll try the 1.3 BIOS and 1.36MOD to see if I can get 1T working.
Before installing the OCZ booster, I indeed successfully booted at 1T, 200MHz with loose timings (about 2,5-4-4-7 which are SPD), but couldn't get any overclocking which is the raison d'être of the PC4000 I have. I then installed the booster and the overclocking didn't improve until I tried 2T and I get excellent overclocking at 2T, but what's the point if 2T cripples that much performance?
By the way, the Geil link you sent is not the product I have. I have PC4000 while it seems you linked a TCCD PC4400 because mine would never be able to do 2-2-2-5 at PC3200.

Nothing has ever been overclocked on this system.
Everything is plugged into a Belkin Surgemaster powerbar.
I haven't mentioned the power supply. I'll get to that. I have been using an ANTEC NEOPOWER 480W POWER SUPPLY (ATX12V  DUAL 12V RAILS ACTIVE PFC W/ DETACHABLE OUTPUT CABLES) for about a year on this system without
any issues. One morning, I wake up, hit the power button on my coolermaster case, and nothing happens.
CPU fan won't even spin. Nothing happens.
    O.k., blown power supply, I think . . . .
So I take out my Antec and put it in another system. That system turns on
    without any problems.
    Hmm . . .
I come here, and I read posts about
potential compatibility issues with Antec power supplies. But if it's a compatibility
issue why was my system working for about a year?
    O.k., fine. I'll buy a Enermax 535W EG565P-VE FMA 24P (115/230 VAC) power supply.
I just plug it into the mainboard (nothing else). Hit the power button . . .
The CPU fan spins for half a second, and then nothing.
Did my motherboard just suddenly die for no reason?
    Any suggestions?

Pull the AC plug from PSU and set cmos in clear position with battery removed for atlest 20 minutes perhaps longer .
Then try to post the system barebone .
Just cpu,1 pcs memory in slot 1 , gfx card , and keyboard in PS2.
No usb devices at all including card reader and no pci cards harddisks or cdoms/dvd/floppy.
It could also be caused by a short or a malfunctioning fan connected to mobo.
Try to disconnect all case fans from mobo headers if you have any connected to additional fan holders.
The chipset fan can also be disconnected momentarily just to see if it posts.
If none of this helps , replace cmos battery and try again .

  • Is there any problem for the board running HTT@1100mhz (k8n neo2)?

Well, I'm running my system 275x4=1100HTT, can I keep this if it's stable or is it risky? I think I've read somewhere that HTT shouldn't go beyond 1000mhz, could someone elucidate me?
    Thanks.

You'll get no advantage from doing so. Best quote i heard about htt(ldt) is
    Quote
    RGone(DFISt)
Speeding HTT out of spec has about the same significance as 8 cars traveling the same direction on a 16 lane highway and you suddenly make the highway 20 lanes wide. It does not speed up anything. All 8 cars already had their own lane and adding lanes did nothing to speed up anything.
most pps drop the 4 to 3 when going past say 255/260

  • K8N Neo2-F Problems all around

I currently run a MSI K8N Neo2-F Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra ATX AMD 64 with an AMD 64 3200+ processor, and lately I have been getting random power issues.
When I use a high-end gaming application, which is my primary function on the computer, I get random BSODs after a very short time.  The only one that continues to work is World of Warcraft - weird eh?  Every other game I play is having BSODs.  Also, my keyboard PS/2 port as well as my USB ports are randomly dying - I have to unplug and replug my mouse and/or keyboard to get it to work again.
Bought a brand new power supply this week, and it didn't change a thing.  Gave me a couple more FPS in WoW, so I know the PSU was a good choice.
Is this an RMA issue?  And if so, is it possible to obtain a new motherboard without sending this one back?  It'd be a major pain to be without a main board for that much time.

Welcome to the forum.  In order to best help you we need to know exactly what is in your system; see my signature for what is required.  In fact, spend a few minutes creating a signature so we can see at a glance what you have.
Ensure you list make/model of old/new psu inc max amps on +12v rail.
Run memtest - link in my signature.
Download cpu-z to check memory timings.  Could try increasing vdimm a notch.
Could be other factors of course but unless we know what you have .......................

  • Weird multipel error with K8N Neo2 and XMS Pro 3200LL

Hi everyone, i recently got a winchester 3200 running on my K8N Neo2 Platinum 54G board and i discovered a very weird thing and im not the only one having this problem either with this mobo/cpu. Its a bit hard to explain but i´ll giv it a try.
I can start with my current spec...
    MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum 54G
    AMD A64 3200+ Winchester
Corsair TwinX 1024 XMS Pro 3200LL
    2x Maxtor diamondmax s-ata 80BG
    Gainward 2400GT GS (6800GT)
    Coolermaster Hyper 6 cpu cooler
    Tagan 480w psu (28A on 12V)
Then i can continue with saying that this problem that occurs with my corsair memorys dose not happend with Adata vitesta 566 memorys.
I figure your getting curious by now
Well heres the deal. In normal frequencys, multipliers and dividers this setup runs just fine, but when i try to oc it past 220Mhz FSB only one multiplier will work, regardless of HTT multiplier or any other bios setting. The only cpu multipel that it will boot with in 133 divider is X5 over 220Mhz FSB, with the 166 divider the only cpu multipel that works then is x6, and only the x4 cpu multipel works in 200 divider. Keep in mind that this didnt happend with adata vitesta sticks, it ran fine with every multipel/divider config...
Oddly enough it works fine in 100 divider on the memorys, every cpu multipel works then past 220Mhz FSB. So far i have gotten my winnie stable at 2,6GHz in standard vcore (with adata vitesta in 200 divider or with corsair running in 100 divider, 290x9 on the cpu).
The divider table is as follows with the corsair sticks   :
100 divider= every cpu multiplier bootable
133 divider= only x5 cpu multipel is bootable
166 divider= only x6 cpu multipel is bootable
200 divider= only x4 cpu multipel is bootable
With Adata vitesta 566 the following applys:
100 divider= every cpu multiplier bootable
133 divider= every cpu multiplier bootable
166 divider= every cpu multiplier bootable
200 divider= every cpu multiplier bootable
Could someone please tell me what causes this I realize that it´s because of some incompatabillity between my corsair sticks and the mobo/cpu, but what?

im having the same problem running 2x512 crucial value select 3200.
with everything at default speeds,  cant lower memory speed or comp crashes before windows loads.
if i take out one stick and just run 512, then i can lower memory to 100. but thats it, except i can do the speeds that u listed with the specific cpu multiplier.  with 2 sticks in though i cannot lower the memory speed at all.  i cant find any fixes for this, if anyone has any clues please help!

Do I need a new PSU?? or is there another problem?

AMD recommends a PSU with atleast 24a on the 12v rail. This does not mean your PSU won't hack it, it just means that as a rule of thumb, it's not supposed to.
Could your PSU be the cause of your problem? Possibly! You have a lot of components drawing power from your PSU. It would be wise to buy a beefier PSU with 12v/5v/3.3v amps all in the 32+ range (see my PSU in my signature or the enermax 460/465w whisper II)).
The problem with not having a better PSU to work with is you could encounter an error, deem it as a result of something it's not, and think the PSU is good and something is bad when it's really the other way around. Moral to the story: get a new PSU.
I tried searching microsoft's knowledge base for your error and nothing turned up that had anything to do with windows installation errors. Are you sure you copied the error down correctly?
If so, the only recommendation I have for you is this. Try installing windows with minimal components installed (CPU, motherboard, videocard, single cdrom, single hard drive). Leave your SB Live! out. Leave your WinTV out. Leave your linksys card out. Leave your DVD-R from LG out. And if you are willing to conserve even more power. If you really want to conserve power, you can install windows with only one stick of ram installed.
Next thing you want to do is check to make sure the memory is not faulty. Start by putting only one stick of memory in slot one and testing it using memtest86+ (i hope that link is correct). You're going to want to run a 1-4 hour standard loop of tests followed by a 12-24 hour loop of test 5. Then you will do the same thing with stick two in slot one. After this works, test to make sure there's nothing wrong with the motherboard by doing the exact same tests again one by one with the sticks in slot two this time around. After this is all done, do the tests again with both sticks in slots one and two. if it doesn't work like this, you could have faulty memory (but this should work). You can always run your memory in the same colored slots (single channel (slots one and three)) but this will cause you to take a hit in performance. Generally, for all instensive purposes, you should be able to run it in dual channel mode without any problems. I imagine you will be able to if the sticks are good.
If they don't work in dual channel mode, to be completely honest, I don't know what you would consider the problem then... could be the PSU... could be a badly matched pair... could be the motherboard. All this is determined by how you handled the parts when installing them. There are a lot of unknowns when trying to help a user without knowing anything about their install.
If all memtests' run successfully, you are now ready to install windows. If windows doesn't install correctly, you probably have a botched BIOS setting somewhere (like aggressive memory timings) or something similiar that's stopping you from successfully installing windows.

  • DDR400 RAM won´t run at 200MHz?

What can this be? First off my specs:
    - A64 Venice 3200+ (cooled by ZalmanCNPS7000AlCu, all temps ok)
    - MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (BIOS v1.8 )
    - 2x 1024MB DDR400 OCZ Performance
With some overclocking guides I got these max values:
    - HTT Max: 300
    - CPU Max: 250
    - RAM Max: 215
    My settings:
    - 10x235
    - HTT x3
    - VCore 1,475v+5.0%
    - RAM-Teiler 166 (=195MHz @ 2350MHz)
    - Timings 3,3,3,8,1T
    - VDimm 2,6v
    - disabled: Spread, Q&C, Aggressive Timings
Normally I would set everything to 240/200 or 250/207 with a RAM divider of 166. But this won´t work! Somehow I not even get 200MHz with this divider. I reach the CPU´s Max at a 100 divider, and I reach 215 with a 200 divider. But 166 makes me nuts. Is it a bug?
I hope someone can help me, or show me a link, where this has been already discussed. Sorry, if it has been discussed before, this is my first visit here

Good benchmark. Seems as if I can forget 4x 512. I wonder if I have more chances with the ASUS A8V Deluxe and my 2x 1024MB if there´s really a bug in MSI´s BIOS. It can´t be that my RAM runs up to 199MHz and then locks up everything...
Yes, I got an ASUS A8V Deluxe rev2, myself and I will make some tests with that MoBo / Venice / 4x512, in the days to come.
However, their latest beta biosversions 1014.006 are horrible regarding voltagecontrol ( extrem overvolting ) and mem.dividers logic.
The 1011 with venice support seems ok except for the 1T/2T control ( same result no matter what enabled / disabled / auto-setting).
I would most of all, see a new good written venice-bios version for the MSI Neo2 MoBo.
By the way did try higher RAM Voltage, like 2.7 -2.8v ?
Does not hurt running memtest86 as well.

  • CS3 installs but won't run

Ok - not sure if this goes in this section or not.. but it's a technical question.
My b/f bought me a Dell Laptop last week. It has the recommended minimum of everything adobe says it needs for photoshop CS3 (see below for 1721 specs)
When I installed it on the laptop - it was slow, but said it installed. But when I go to open up Photoshop, it opens the screen - and then just hangs. After about 5 minutes it says not responding and I close it. Any of the other programs that came with won't even get that far. I click on them and it gives the little "thinking" circle (as I call it.. lol) and then nothing.
I have read that CS3 has issues with Vista - but their site says the home premium should work. I've also read about 64 bit issues.. but the OS is 32 bit - so it's capable of running 32bit systems... I guess.
I called adobe yesterday after installing and reinstalling CS3 15+ times... with the same issue. I was on the phone for about 2 hours with them. Basically - they have NO CLUE what it would be since it installs fine and opens with no error messages. I checked the log files and there is nothing in there I see that says any kind of error.
I have disable windows defender, uninstalled McAfee and google desktop (all are known to cause issues with CS3), I have ALL non MS startup services turned off.. I have turned off the MS users control.. all suggested by the adobe tech.
I have installed using the run as administrator. Nothing. Created a new admin account and installed on that user and opened on reg admin account. Nothing. (again typical things that correct cs3 install issues)
The last thing the guy said was that it might be a video issue. I checked and there aren't any issues mentioned and no driver updates listed.
We tryed installing this on my b/f's laptop. He bought the exact one I have (except his is red.. mine blue.. lol) and it does the EXACT same thing...
So today we called dell. they say it's a software issue and won't answer any questions for free. Apparently only hardware support is free... But they won't accept this is a hardware conflict with the software..
    errrrr
Anybody have any clues on this?

Rob - thanks for taking a stab at this.
I have tried installing from the DVD and also from the zip file. the zip file was extracted to the hard drive brfore I ran it - and I ran it as administrator.
And when it stalls - it gives the (NOT RESPONDING) tag on the window - which usually means that even if I leave it (and I have for up to 20 minutes) - still nothing.
Here's the update from my dealings with DEll today...
Dell tech support guy told me that it was a know issue that CS3 WON'T run on Vista and that Adobe is working the issue
Told them that I knew others that were running it on Vista and it worked fine. They had no answer.
Then I waited for the Technical support manger to call. This is after expressing my displeasure to the technical supervisor about them trying to pawn this issue off on anyone else but themselves. Why can't they go grab a 1721 off the shelf and replicate the issue and try to figure it out from there?!?!?!
I used to work on a network helpdesk.. if I tried to pull that crap answer without trying to replicate the issue and AT LEAST try to find an answer.. I wouldn't have lasted very long at all!!!!
The Tech manager told me to call customer support and ask for an OS swap (from vista to XP) because they don't know what the problem is and so it muct be a Vista compatibility issue
I call customer support. They say that they no longer will give out XP since it is a step backwards. And to install XP on the machine ourselves (even a liscensed copy) would void the warranty. They suggest I talk to sales about swapping the laptop out with a "more compatible" one. Which isn't a totally bad idea since I really do think it is an AMD/ATI conflict.
They transfer me to Sales.. ohh - you used the Employee Purchase program.. you need to talk to them.. and they transfer me.
The EPP people tell me.. ohhhh you didn't actually go through us since you bought it off the Dell Outlet store. So they transfer me.
The dell outlet store says they will be more than happy to swap me out to an Intel based machine.
Only catch is the Intels are more expensive. They don't have any for the price we paid for the amd's. Fot about $40 more I can get one with a slower processer, a gig less ram, no dvd writer, but with a 160gb hd. To get compatible to mine - would be about $150 more.
And they only have silver in the low end, and black or brown in the higher. Not that I really give a s@!t what the color is.. but it brings up the main reason I am sooo pissed abput all of this....
Why should I have to pay more money, settle on doing without option/features want/need.. just because THEY don't want to take the time to figure out what the real issue is?!?!?! Why isn't it them doing these calls and doing all this troubleshooting.. Why am I being peanilzed for THEM not wanting to do their jobs....
Told the B/F that I am done with Dell. That I don't want the laptop anymore and I don't want any other one from them. He says he'll pay the extra and get me the other one.. but that isn't the point....
Not sure what my next move is.

  • How do I install the FM10 licensing fix when Adobe Update Installer won't run?

Adobe Update Installer won't run so can't install FM10 licensing fix
This question is Not Answered.(Mark as assumed answered)

Because FM10 began crashing with "fatal" errors whenever I tried to generate a TOC for a small (65 page) book, I researched workarounds and none of them worked. Now that I have delivered a crippled deliverable via Acrobat manipulations, I would like to fix FM. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, got some updates, and then received the "licensing fix" error that popped up in January. I'm wondering why this fix was included not in the updates. That said, the licensing fix package, first, would not unzip so I downloaded it again. I unzipped it but I got a message that Adobe Updater Installer could not run and after several clicks I found that file. I reinstalled Adoble Update Installer but it still does not run.
I am running Windows XP and have TCS 3.5.I uninstalled FM and RH but not Acrobat, Captivate, or Photoshop.
So, now what? Listen to my supervisor who says never use FM again?
P.S. Why do I have to enter a title for my question and then do it again when this page opens??

Give Adobe Support a call or contact the TCS team at [email protected] - something in your environment is causing the installer to fail (I'd guess).

  • Action steps that won't run correctly in PSE 7/8/9 (but did in 4 and 6)

I have a wonderful action that was written to work in PSE 3/4/6.  It won't run in PSE 7/8/9.  After fooling around for a while, I think I understand why.  Adobe changed the way Adjustment Layers are handled.  In earlier versions of Photoshop and Elements, Adjustment Layers threw up a modal dialog box.  That changed so that Adjustment Layers now appear in the Palette Bin as a palette.
Here a sample of some of the action steps that won't work correctly:
    Make adjustment layer
    Using: adjustment layer
    Type: levels
    Set Selection
    To: none
    Set current layer
    To: layer
    Name:  “Adjustment 1”
    Set current layer
    To: layer
    Mode: luminosity
    Stop
    Message:  “Move gray slider left”
    With Continue
    Set current adjustment layer
    To: levels
In earlier versions of PS and PSE, the way these steps would work is that a new adjustment layer would be created, the dialog box giving the instruction would open, it would be dismissed by clicking "Continue," and then the "Set current adjustment layer to: Levels" would generate a model adjustment layer dialog box would open up which would let one make the adjustment.
In newer versions, since Adjustment Layers are handled in the Palette Bin, after dismissing the instructions, the action doesn't stop to allow the user to make change the sliders on the adjustment layer.
The action runs perfectly in CS4 and CS5 and throws up the levels adjustment modal box as it did in PSE 4 and PSE 6, but the action doesn't throw the modal box in PSE 7/8/9
Does anyone know of a way to alter the action steps to allow the action to stop to allow the adjustment and then to resume again?

Adding a new levels adjustment layer on top of the Midtone contrast layer
should work, just use a clipping mask to restrict the adjustments to the
areas of the levels adjustment layer below. The histogram will be different, but
actually testing the action is really the only way to know if that makes any difference.
Replacing the levels adjustment layer is another option, though it requires a few more steps.
The following assumes when the action gets to this point,
the Midtone contrast adjustment layer is the active (selected) layer.
To record this part of the action:
    1. Duplicate current channel (in the channels panel. drag the Midtone contrast mask
down to the Create new channel icon at the bottom of the channels panel)
    2. Ctrl+click on the newly created channel (Midtone contrast mask copy)
This loads the selection of that channel.
    3. Drag the new channel (midtone contrast mask copy) to the trash icon at the bottom
       of the channels panel.
    4. Back in the layers panel, delete the Midtone Contrast adjustment layer.
    5. Go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Levels
This creates a new levels adjustment layer using the selection loaded from
the duplicated channel and opens the levels dialog.
To load the RGB (composite) as a selection, Ctrl+click on the rgb in the channels panel
and the same is true for the red, green and blue channels.
With layer masks, elements doesn't seem to want to load them as selections in actions,
so that's the reason for the action steps above.

CS2 won't run, says activation code no longer usable. Been running win7 on this system 3 years. Adobe says it won't activate in win7. Well, it did, and ran just fine. what's up?

I assume when you say "Adobe says it won't activate in win7" that you talked to customer support....
A drive change could trigger the need for reactivation.  Did you tell them that you're running from a mirrored drive?
It sounds to me that they're being aggressive about trying to get you to upgrade when they should still be supporting you with active maintenance of their activation database.
But unfortunately if you can't get them to adjust their database you're out of luck.

  • K8N Neo2 problems running 300MHz HTT and higher than "100MHz" RAM divider

    Hi!
Got some problems with my K8N Neo2 when running the HTT much above 300MHz, only RAM divider that's stable is "100MHz" which means the RAM runs at the half speed of HTT. That's not good since my RAM does 270MHz with "200MHz"/1:1 divider.
This is not a problem when I run my FX-55, but when I was going to overclock my 3000+ Winchester where the highest MP is 9 this is a big problem. It does 3004MHz (9x334MHz) stable with Prime95 and runs Super Pi at 3135MHz (9x348MHz), but with only 174MHz (348MHz/2) on my RAM the performance is bad. CPU is cooled by Prometeia Mach II.
I'm running HT Frequency/LDT of 3x, any of the settings under 3x doesn't work right (looks like 2,5x equals 3x and 2x, 1,5x and 1x equals 4x). Any BIOSes where the HT Frequency settings below 3x works right?
Thanks for any inputs on this subject.

Why are you insistent on running your frequency at 300Mhz and higher?  Why not lower the frequency and increase the multiplier?  For example, you could run 275Mhz x 11 for a CPU frequency of 3025Mhz.  Then you could still run your RAM at the 1:1 ratio.....
Just a thought -- curious why you haven't tried that...

  • K8n neo2 running with 260 FSB ?

    Hi !
Well, I have one question about the FSB and Multi settings.
    first, my sys:
    -K8N Neo2 Platinum
    -AMD64 3500+ winchester
    -OCZ 2x512 DDR (PC 3500 - 433Mhz) Ram
    -2x S-ATA HDD Hitachi 160GB @ Sata 3&4
    -550W PS
So, with some tests, I can found the fastest CPU-freq @ 2600Mhz with 1,58V VCore - testing with Prime95.
But I want the fastest clock for the rams, too.  The Ram works with FSB 217, DDR200-setting in BIOS. Multi 11x. very well at 217Mhz...
    first settings:
    FSB @ 237 / Multi @ 11x / HT @ 4x / Ram set to DDR166.
So the effective CPU-clock is 2604Mhz, the ram is at 186 Mhz.
The setting works fine... but with very poor ram-clock...
(I had to set the ram to DDR166, because with DDR200-Setting the clock will be 237 which is too high and I can´t boot. )
    2nd setting:
    FSB @ 248 / Multi @10.5 / HT @4x / Ram set to DDR166.
The setting works fine... The Mobo shows a ram-clock of 208Mhz. The Tool "Clock-Gen" shows a ram-clock of 200Mhz...(I dont´know which is right...?) But: The Ram-Clock can ba 217Mhz, I guess..?
    3rd setting:
    FSB @ 260 / Multi @10 / HT @3x / Ram set to DDR166.
This setting crashes up while booting.... normally, I think, the CPU-clock will be 2600 (which will work), the RAM will divided down to 217 Mhz.
Now my prob: the CPU runs with 2604 Mhz, the RAM runs with 217Mhz - but why can´t I set the FSB to 260 and Multi 10x ?? PS: the system ist still crashing, when I set the Multi to 10x and try FSB to 250Mhz... ?
    Does anyone know ??
    Many thanks !
    A.

Just so you know, when you use dividers, your memory performance is only as good as the lowest setting. For example, I you have a system with ddr333 memory and a CPU with a 333mhz FSB your memory performance is as follows:
    Memory Peformance:
    133CPU x 133mem = 166CPU x 133mem
    CPU performance:
    133CPU x 133mem
    As opposed to:
    Memory Peformance:
    133CPU x 166mem CPU performance:
    133CPU x 166mem
    The Kicker:
    Memory Performance (first versus second):
    133CPU x 133mem 166CPU x 133mem CPU Performance (first versus second):
    133CPU x 133mem 166CPU x 133mem
I neglected to try overall combined performance like 3dmark01/03/05 but I was on a time budget at the time and only concerned with running a 4:5 divider as opposed to a 4:4 divider which my results gave me no increase (but no decrease either).
Therefore, you get no increase in memory performance when using dividers. I used sandra to verify this. I simply used my CPU and RAM in every different configuration I could think of and then ran it and recorded the results. Hopefully I remembered my results correctly.
Yes, you will see a CPU increase with dividers but you will not see a memory increase.
    The Kicker Reiterated:
    CPU Performance:
    (133 CPU x 133 mem
Personally I think you should be happy with an FSB of 248 because that means your memory frequency is 198.4mhz which means you nearly have ddr400. How much of an increase do you think you'll see with 260FSB (208mhz memory frequency (increase of 9.6 mhz))? Personally I think you should be happy with 248 with a 5:4 divider.
    ORRRRRRRR:
try benchmarking with a 216FSB x 11mult x 4htt with DDR200 versus 248 x 10mult x 4 htt with DDR166 and see which is faster. You'll do better on the first with memory and better on CPU with the second but the inverse will be the inverse. Then I would do an overall benchmark like 3dmark03/05 and see which had the best overall effect (I'm guessing it will be a somewhat close call but I never tried that... hmmm... something to try now).

  • I have a Windows 2003 Server 64-Bit, and when I upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1 now it won't run, it keeps saying to restart to complete the installation, but I've restarted theserver 4 times, and I still can't use it.

I have a Windows 2003 Server 64-Bit, and when I upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1 now it won't run, it keeps saying to restart the computer to complete the installation, but I've restarted theserver 4 times, and I still can't use it.

I ended up putting it in DFU mode.  It's kinda hard to tell it was in DFU mode because nothing showed on the screen, it was just black, but the sounds from the computer helped to tell me it was connected.
Itunes still didn't recognize the device for whatever reason.
So I used redsn0w.  I don't know if I can say that on these forums, but considering itunes was worthless at this point I am going to give credit where credit is due.
Now I am giving itunes a second chance to upgrade to 5.1, if it doesn't work, well, back to redsnow and maybe I will even jailbreak it this time rather than just using the fecovery fix found under extras.

  • How do I roll-back to the previous version of Firefox? An auto update occurred and now one of the programs used at the office (ACT! v6.0 SwiftMail) won't run with the browser.

The office I work in uses a very old version of ACT!, an accounting package. This package has a component called SwiftPage, an antiquated email system that enables us to email from the ACT DB. SwiftPage runs via the web browser.
Firefox just did an auto update (that I will have to find out how to turn off) and now SwiftPage won't run as it is not compatible.
Can I "roll-back" my version of Firefox or do I have to uninstall and try to re-install an older version?
    HELP!

Try loading and using the add-on from this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/
Many add-ons do in fact work if you force them to run. The procedure to roll-back is given in this article: [[installing previous versions of firefox]]
Unfortunately the official Firefox policy is that you downgrade to 3.6 which is supported for a while longer, and not the now unsupported Firefox 4. If after installing and running the ''add-on compatibility reporter'' you still have problems there are ways around the official policy.
I think it is absurd that Firefox 4 may be used by tens of millions of users one day and a few days later those that upgrade to Firefox 5 should be not only told not to use a now unsupported browser, if they need to revert due to problems, but are actually obstructed in attempts to do so.
