When I look by the installed plugins I normaly saw 7 or 8 plugins. At the moment I just see two plugins Google update and Zeon Plus 2.000.When I visit a side, the side asked me to install a plugin b.v. Adobe Flashplayer. These plug in is already installed(by hand). When I try to install the missing plugin I get the message C:\Users\Hidde\AppData\Local\Temp\FP-PL-PFS-Installer.11.exe.

When I open Firefox, now I see the Plug- in Shockwave Flash and some others.
Ithink so far so good. Now I go to a side which needed Shockwave Flash.I open this side and donot get the answer cannot loadthe plug-in.
After this I shutdown the webside and closed Firefox.
When I open a moment later Firefox the plug-in are gone again.
I must re-start my computer to see the plug-ins again.
The 2 plug-ins that are not in the are always visible.
Has it some thing to do whith my network?

  • Adobe 11 plugin on Firefox which I didn't load!

I updated my Adobe Flash (to latest 10 update, I thought), but when I go to the addon page and when I do the check at the Adobe page, both show I have Flash 11,0,1,152 loaded. I can't find it on my desktop or in my download folder. Could Firefox have embedded it, like Chrome does??
I recall during the download to update to the highest level of 10, that Firefox froze. I thought it didn't download, but an update DID download and it's the one I listed above (the 11).
My Norton shows VERY few users, so I'm wondering if it's okay to leave it or if I should uninstall it and go down to the top level of 10.
I downloaded and saved to my desktop the 11 version, as it will uninstall the 11, should it be suggested I do so.
I have 4 versions of Flash....one an Active X 10+ for IE, one that Chrome embedded, the 11 that embedded in Firefox, and my old plugin 10 update 26 that I used for FF. I didn't uninstall any of them yet, as I like to ask before taking action.
I know it's suggested that older versions be uninstalled, but since Flash 11 is so new with few users, I'm thinking I should uninstall that and try to update the 10+ plugin I have on my desktop.
Any suggestions or feedback as to Flash 11 plugin on Firefox?
Oh, when I view the "more" option in the FF addon page, it shows it was last updated on October 5th. It was updated only 2 days ago, though.
I went through the same thing with my Java 6. Same thing. It shows that I have 6 update 26 on Java test and I updated it to 6 update 29.
Oh AND in my listed programs, the only one that shows is Abobe Acrobat! I have Adobe Reader updated to x. It doesn't show, nor do the other Adobe products in my list of programs.
I can't recall now, but one of them shows the proper update date...but Java test shows I have 6 update 26.
    Weird stuff, eh? lol
I'm confuzzled now. I'll come back and edit this to show the update dates, after I check for the "update dates" in the FF addon manager page.
I DID see that FF doesn't update from that addon site, and we have to do the updates ourselves. Is that still the case?
Thanks for your help, in advance~Donna
P.S. Although flash froze twice after I did the update 2 days ago, I haven't had a problem since. I can view videos on Youtube and news.

Okay, this is how the plugins are listed in my addons Manager page on FF:
    1) Adobe Acrobat 10.10.534 - last updated 6/6/11 (I wasn't even on the computer then, as my cousin died...after my mom and aunt...rough times)
    2) Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.290.11 - last updated 10/3/11 (think it was updated by FF, I don't recall doing this at all...I DID try to update Java on 10/20/11 and have the 6 upate 29 in my download folder, but didn't use it, as I saw it was already updated from 26 to 29)
    3) Java (TM) Platform SE 6 U 29 6.0.2901 - last updated 10/3/11 - Same as #2....I didn't do this one...FF must have when I clicked "update".
    4) Shockwave Flash - 11.0.1.152 - updated 10/19/11 (this was the 10+ one I tried to update on 10/20/11 and FF froze.)
    5) Google Update 1.3.21.79 - updated 10/14/11 (have no clue what this is for)
    6) Windows Presentation Foundation 3.5.30729.1 - last updated JULY 29, 2008
What on earth is THIS one for?? Should I disable it, since it won't update?
Okay that's all my plugins and the dates updated, as shown on Addon Manager page.
Advice anyone?? I'm not sure if Ishould disable the Google and Windows plugins.
And I'm wondering about the Shockwave Flash 11 and if it's okay at this point in time for use?
    Thank you!

  • Installing Adobe Flash Player 10.0.42 Plugin for Firefox 3.5.7

I currently have Firefox 3.5.7 installed and am trying to access a site that requires the current version of Adobe Flash Player (10.0.42). When I download and install it, the website still doesn't recognize flash player being installed.
I go to Adobe.com, make sure I am downloading the one for WinXP/Firefox and install it, then it says that it is successfully installed. However, when I try to access the site, and it says that the current version of flash player is not installed, with a link to the adobe site to download the latest version (which I already did).
I have tried uninstalling the flash player, from both Windows and Adobe's uninstaller, and reinstalling with no success. I have even tried uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, still nothing. For fun, I tried updating IE, and it works fine, but I REALLY don't like IE.
Another note: when I uninstall Flash Player, it doesn't remove it from my machine (add/remove program list), even when Windows asks, "Adobe ... is already uninstalled, would you like to remove it from the list?" Additionally, when I go to Adobe's Flash Player version tester site, it reports that IE is running version 10.0.42, but when I access it with FF, it shows a link to download the latest Adobe FP.

  • I have Adobe Flash Player Plugin for Firefox, but I'm still missing Flash Player?

So I have installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player Plugin for Firefox, and I'm able to watch youtube videos on my browser and other things that require flash player, but I have a disc that i got along with my Samsung monitor, and when I put it in my computer, it says that I do not infact have flash player. Also, when I try playing a game, DawnGate, theres a black box where a video should be, and it says that i do not have flash player, and it is required to watch these videos. I tried uninstalling, and I was unable to watch youtube, and when i reinstalled, I was able to watch youtube again, but that did not fix my problem. Is there something I'm missing? I look forward to hearing from someone soon.

Odds are it's looking for the IE plugin: (A lot of software just assumes ALL Windows users are "slaves to Microsoft" and only have IE installed.)
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
    or the standalone Player:

  • JRE 1.5 plugin for Firefox on Linux works as root but not as an other user

I am trying to usel the JRE plugin for Firefox on Fedora Core 4. I downloaded and installed it as "root" and created the symbolic link so Firefox can "see" it. It now works just fine if I run Firefox as "root", but if I run it as any other user, it thinks that the plugin is not installed.
I checked to make sure that the path to the symbolic link is accessible by anyone (all directories in the path are x to "other" and the link and the .so file are both rx for "other").
What else do I need to do so non-root users can use this plugin?

remove $HOME/.mozilla/plugins and $HOME/.java and try again

  • What exactly is the Default Plugin in Firefox?

I am looking for detailed information on the Default Plugin in Firefox, specifically for v3.6.20. When I envoke the Troubleshooting Information page and select Plugins, I see that it is Disabled. However, in Preferences/Manage Ad Ons/Plugins, it appears enabled.
I am experiencing issues with Firefox that I need to solve before I make any future upgrade attempt, and this is an issue that I need to solve.
    Thanks..

That is OK. The default plugin is used if there isn't a plugin installed to handle specific content and ofers to do a search.
What kind of problems do you have?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Two Adobe Acrobat Plugins In Firefox ... Want to Remove Outdated Plugin

Creative Cloud Customer with all Adobe software current
    Windows 8 Pro 64 bit
    Adobe Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.2
    Firefox 19.0.1
In looking at my Plugins, I notice that I have two Adobe Acrobat, one 11.0.0.379 and the other 11.0.2.0. The last one seems to match my Adobe Acrobat Pro version number. I assume the 11.0.0.379 is outdated?
If I am correct in my assumption, how do I remove the the outdated plugin? Please be precise and detailed as I am still learning Windows 8. In the picture below, I have circled the plugin that I want to remove.
I look forward to your assistance.

Okay, well I just an interesting experience.
    Here's what happened:
Deleted oldest program without remembering to deactivate first.
After I uninstalled, I noticed that the program listings in the Control Panel were blank. That is, both the old and new versions were gone.
In Firefox, the first entry of Adobe Acrobat 11.0.2.0 was gone, but the other listing of Adobe Acrobat 11.0.0.379 remained
Thinking that I erred in not deactivating first, I used Adobe's Chat to reset my counter. The nice man asked me for my email and then my order number for Creative Cloud. After I logged into my Adobe account to retrieve the information, he promptly told me that he couldn't help me and that I needed to call back on Monday using a 1-800 number. I am puzzled why we bothered with the dance of email addresses and order numbers.
Throwing caution to the wind, I decided to try to install Adobe Acrobat from my Creative Cloud account. The worst that happen is that it will fail to load.
I successfully loaded Adobe Acrobat without difficulty. When I viewed the installed programs in the Control Panel, I saw that I had an outdated versions. See picture below.
Intuitively, I would have expected programs downloaded from the cloud to be current.  So I went Help | Check for Updates
I installed the updates. See picture below for Control Panel shot.
Now, going back to Firefox, I am exactly at the starting point.
In summary, the "older" version appears to stay regardless of whether Adobe Acrobat is installed or not. Perhaps it is attached to Adobe Reader XI. Or, perhaps, it's just there. Installing Adobe Acrobat XI Pro seems to add two programs to the list in the Control Panel. And it seems to have two Adobe Acrobat plugins in Firefox.
I will call Adobe on Monday with regard to the Deactivate Issue. I have a hunch that it isn't not an issue. They might be able to tell that I uninstalled and reinstalled on the same computer.
    That's it for now.

  • New Plugin for Firefox- Maps Blank

I just went to maps.ovi.com and got offered a new plugin for Firefox. It seemed to install OK and now the website - which used to take about 5 mins to startup for me - starts up in seconds. Almost as fast as Google maps!
SNAG - the map area is blank. I can't see any maps!
    Is it just me?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Malicious software had switched my Internet Options to use a proxy server. Firefox showed the Maps website and navigation perfectly but the map did not download. Simply disabling the "Use a proxy server" in "Connections" fixed it. Since I do not use Internet Explorer I had not noticed this!

  • I can't install the Flash plugin for Firefox

I can't install the Flash plugin for Firefox (Firefox version 1.5.0). I've tried to install the latest version 9.0.16.0 from the Adobe Download Centre. There are no error messages or warnings during the installation.
The Flash plugin for IE is working fine.
I've tried everything, uninstall the pre-installed version (7), re-install FireFox, uninstall all plugins, download and install everything over and over..... still the same problem.

    Hi Stephan,
Thans for your reaction and suggestion.
I've cleaned up the register, deleted all the macromedia and flash keys.
Restarted, installed Flash plugin again, IE is working fine (again) but Firefox (and Opera!) only showing the message "Flash plugin needed" when I try to display a site with Flash content.
I have the same combination working on several desktops, does it have anything to do with te pre-installed software from Toshiba?
I have two Toshiba Sattelite's P100 with both exactly the same problems! Flash on IE working, Opera an Firefox NOT.

  • Why can't I have the Windows Media Player plugin in firefox? Why is that there is a page maintained on Mozilla that links to some port25 for plugin whereas other are available directly from firefox?

I am sick and tired of going to 3rd party websites and install plugin that have malware and virus. Need to have this Windows Media player plugin from Firefox directly.

Thanks, but again, I'm either missing something or Firefox is being finicky. I play videos on Apple.com just fine thru Firefox, so the QuickTime plugin is apparently working. Of course, I didn't try every video on Apple.com so it's possible I picked the few that worked. And with some serious massaging I've actually been able to get Firefox to play low resolution .mp4 videos. Videos rendered at 256x144 display in the HTML5 video player in Firefox. Videos rendered at resolutions greater than 256x144 do not display in Firefox. At least, these are the results I'm getting....I suspect others may be getting different results.
This isn't a file size thing because a 512x288 .mp4 video is actually less than 1/2 the size of the lower resolution 256x144 .mp4 video, and yet Firefox does not display a 512x288 .mp4 video.....again, for me anyway. This is beyond confusing, but thanks for the suggestions. You are correct - Firefox does NOT support .mp4 videos (most resolutions) in the HTML5 video player....for some unknown reason!

  • Circular redirection when trying to install Flash Player plugin in Firefox

When I try to update the Flash Player plugin in Firefox (25.0.x) under WinXP (32bit), WinVista (64bit) and Win7 n(64bit), I'm directed to the "Get Flash Player" page. When I click "Install), I'm redirected to an Adobe Products page, which has a "Get Flash Player link"; when I click on that link, I'm redirected to the (previous) Get Flash Player page, where, when I click "Install", I'm redirected to the same Adobe products page, and so on and so on and so on. What the h*** is going on, and how do I get to download the Flash Player plugin?

I don't know why this is happening, but try downloading the offline installer(s):
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

    Hi richkatz,
I'm on FF3.6.2 and today, I encounter the same problem.
I got the solution by opening the download page in another tab. Then the firefox message switched from "Look for Plugin" to "Autorise FF to install the plugin".
