General \ About \ TTOU - What is TTOU?

On my iTOUCH i discovered something called TTOU (under the General \ About section). I have researched this and have been unable to find anything about this. when you select it, it reads:
title: TTOU
Manufacture: illegal instruction
Mondel number: ting point exception
serial number: bad system call
firmware revision: 0.0.0
hardware revision: 0.117.115
Does anyone know what this is? or how to remove it?

That is definitely odd. I did some digging around myself and came up with this thread from another forum regarding the same issue and output. Nobody has really identified what it is, except that is more than likely a glitch in the software. For more information, check out the thread.

Enhancement request: Show actual songs downloaded to device in General|About

After switching to iCloud for my iPhone 4S, when I go to Settings|General|About I am shown the number of "available" songs in the cloud rather than the number of songs actually downloaded to the phone. While this is certainly impressive to imagine that I have so many tracks available to me, I really would rather have a clear picture of what is actually on the device. Even if I put the device in Airplane Mode so that it has no access to the cloud, I'm still shown the cloud statistics.
I can plug the device into my Mac and see in iTunes how many songs are on the device, but that is obviously not a convenient way to measure usage. Of course, I can also look into "Usage" on the device and see how much physical memory is being taken up by songs, but I'd still like a way to see how many of each available item are actually ON the device, and not just what I have available to me in the cloud.

Maybe your "iTunes Music Library.xml" file got corrupted?? Try searching this file for some of the songs in question and see if they're in there at all and if so if there's anything funky about them.
Next step:
Try uninstalling iTunes and verifying that "iTunes Music Library.xml" is REMOVED and then reinstall and drag all your music into it again. I believe this will remove any playlists as well, so you should back them up...not quite sure how to do that.

Short answer:
Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

If you at least know your Apple ID you can go to this Apple Support page.

Click on Forgot My Password.
Try to recover or set a new password. Hopefully your email addresses still get mail from Apple.

Can you make and receive calls and texts? If you can, I wouldn't worry about it. If you can't, you may need to call Verizon. However, try this first. The 4S has a Vodafone SIM card in it for foreign travel. Try taking the SIM out and doing the *228 again. Once it activates properly, you should be able to put the SIM back for safe keeping. It's not used in the U.S.

If you ask this, you will not probably need it. X11 is a version of the popular X Window System, used by most UNIX operating systems (including OS X). Since OS X Lion (I think), it is no longer included, and you only need it to run some specific applications.

I'm still with you, just having a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that you reinstalled OS X, which is like shooting a mosquito with a cruise missile, yet the problem remains.

Admittedly there is not much to it, but it should have eradicated the problem.
I would guess that the 17 "hp_" messages have something to do with Hewlett-Packard and in fact I do use an HP printer with the computer. I uninstalled the printer software and reinstalled it. The printer seems to work fine, but the kernel extension error messages still keep appearing. I'm inclined just to delete these 17 kernel extensions and then, if the printer doesn't work correctly, unintall and reinstall the printer software again. Sound sensible?
It certainly does. The only thing I can think of is that the OS reinstallation did not recognize those kernel extensions and left them untouched, AND the HP uninstaller did not remove them, AND the HP installer did not perform correctly. Having suffered through several HP botched software attempts I tend to believe that remains a posssibility.
If you are so inclined, I would remove the troublesome .kext files as you say, then reboot. Be prepared for the printer to stop working, but once you remove them try the printer again anyway. The vast majority of printers do not require any specific downloads since their drivers are already built into OS X.
As a last resort try reinstalling OS X again (I know...) and run Software Update to bring everything up to date. Apple released some new printer drivers a few weeks ago.
Finally, if this doesn't work post the same question as a new topic since I am out of ideas. A new topic will get more attention than unresolved questions with responses.

My wife's 4s needed to update the software. when it was updated/downlaoded the Wi-Fi would not work. It is currently grayed out and under General, About: the Wi-Fi is N/A. Does anyone have a suggestion to correct. I called Apple support and they felt it was the software update because it worked prior to the update however they wanted to charge 19.95 to assist. If it is a hardware issue, then you don't get charged the $19. But, if it turns out to be a setting you messed up, then YES, they will want to charge you $19 to help you learn how to use your phone after your 90-days of FREE phone support expired. Or you could read the manual or articles that are available for free online.
Basically, if you want someone to hold your hand, then you'll pay for it.

Yes when you first set up the account or when you first add a device to the cloud, if it is not the first time, it will merge with the other data

By default it merges. There is no option to change this.
What happens to the information on the second device that is not in the cloud?
It will sync at the next sync interval if that data is selected to sync.

It resolved the entry the next time the first and second device syncs. Can you elaborate on the second part of this question?

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1. Are you sure you really do not have a 2G iPod? Those can only go to 4.2.1

Thanks for your reply Niel. I had concluded the same thing prior to seeing your post. The way I solved it was to look on the back of the iPad mini BOX which I had saved! The thing that threw me was that the model listed on the device under settings, general, about was MD529LL/A but on the box it says my model is A1432 and my PART No. is MD529LL/A. I checked out your link and it was one character off from my actual PART No.
