General Error Message Won't Let Me Save

Hello,
I was editing an HD video earlier and I switched my audio/video settings to sequence preset DVCPRO HD - 720p24 - my capture present to DV NTSC 48 Khz (since im not capturing. i pulled files off an external hard drive - my device control preset was on SONY HDV FireWire. My video playback was on apple firewire DVCPRO NSTC 720x480. I opened another project and switched my user settings to regular DV NTSC. when I got back on my HD video, it showed that I needed unexpected rendering. When I rendered it gave the "general error" message. I had to select each clip that needed rendering and move it a little, then re render the selection. when I went to save the project it gave me the same "general error" message. I need to export this project to qucktime ASAP to put on a DVD. what should I do? pleeeease help......

sounds like you have some corruption going on, or perhaps a permissions issue (though I think that's less likely). Here are some things I'd try.
Create a new sequence with the proper settings for your footage. Copy all the clips in your old sequence and paste into the new sequence.
Create a new project with a new sequence. Copy and paste the clips of old sequence into the new sequence of the new project. Save As and give it a new file name.
Check the pathway to your Render folder and your Save folder. Make sure that permissions allow for READ AND WRITE all the way down. In other words, if your render folder is in:
Harddrive/FCP/Render
Then make sure all three have READ WRITE permissions applied. Do this by selecting them one by one and hitting CMD+I for info. Then look at the permissions.
Hopefully one of those options will help.

Error Message - Won't Let Me Use My Memory Chip

I need help. I turned off my phone today and when I turned it back on this message came up, "A Media Card has been inserted that contains errors. To correct the errors please use a disk error-checking utility on a computer." I previously had songs, ringtones, pictures, etc on the media card and now it won't let me access them. I hooked it up to my computer hoping it would automatically fix itself but it didn't. However, when I brought up my media manager it would let me click on my media card as if it were still there and all of the media was still there. But the same message appears. I've tried taking out the media card and everything. PLEASE HELP.

I had the same problem only when I ran the disk error checking utility, it did seem to scan and fix a huge number of issues, only I still get the same error message and now I cant seem to access my SD card from my phone. Also, when I hook up my phone to the computer I am able to view most of the pictures but not all of them. The pictures that I cannot open do not seem to be readable. They are saved as weird symbols and I cant seem to view them or save them as picture files. Can I still recover these pictures and how can I resolve this error message??? Please help

J6480 Ink Cartridge Door Hinges Broke. Door Open error message won't let me print. What can I do?

Have always been very careful with cartridge & scanner doors. Pressing OK doesn't remove error message. Broken hinges will no longer go down, so Door Open message won't go away and preventing printing.

The problem is the spring tension used to hold the cover open is stronger than the poorly designed weak hinges.
The way I solved it was to break both the hinges, (pretty easy to do just open and close the cover a few times), lift the cover up being carefull not to break the ribbon cable (wires) from the cover to the base. Then I pryed out the lower spring plates, these are located in the hinge assembly of the printer and removed the black plastic plunger and the large springs below it from both hinges. The cover wil now stay closed and allow you to print. You just have to be careful when changing the print cartridges as the cover can open too far now and possibly break the wires going to the top cover.

ITunes Error Message Won't Let Me Finish Syncing...

When I sync my iPod it comes up with and error message that says "Error occured reading iPod, the disk could not be read from or written to." I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if they may have found a solution that they would be willing to share... I would appreciate the help...

this message can show up on Macs too.

called efax they said it was an hp problem. downloaded all updates. uninstalled and reinstalled printer(envy114). still same error message.

Error message - won't let me burn any dvd's

Hello
Tried a couple of times to burn this DVD project using DVD SP 4.1 and the first DVD went well, tried a second one got this error message...tried a different dvd got the same message:
Formatting failed
The recording device reported the media error: Power calibration area error. (0x73, 0x03.)
Never saw this before - fix?

"There is not enough memory" message won't let me save

After running photoshop cs6 for an hour or two, I could not complete the save command because "there is not enough memory" message comes and my file won't save

Firefox 37 keeps crashing, Plugin-hang...aplication error message, & won't let me update Adobe Flash player

Ever since I updated to Firefox 37 my Firefox has been crashing. It started only doing it periodically, then it got so that if I scrolled down a page it would close. Then it got to the point where as soon as I opened Firefox it would immediately crash every time. I ran antivirus and Super AntiSpyware and rebooted, but it only let me into Firefox, nothing would load up. They only way I am able to be on right now is through my computer's "safe mode".
I have tried repeatedly to update Adobe Shockwave Flash Player, but when I click "run" the box disappears and nothing happens from there. It just won't update.
I am on a Windows XP computer which, as we know, is no longer supported by Microsoft, but am I really this SOL?
All scans say I am clean, BTW.
I am afraid to reset Firefox because if I can't update the flash player now, who can promise me I will be able to get anything back if I reset Firefox?
I am moments away from getting my hammer and having a meeting with my computer in the backyard, if you know what I mean. Please help.

Thank you so much for responding. I appreciate your help very much. There are TONS of these reports without "BP" in front of them. Most all reports are without a "BP" in front of them. They take forever to load from Archives and once I do get one loaded I can't locate a "submit" tab anywhere.

This error message won't let me install a 3rd party app. need a guru. help me ob1.

i get this error everytime i try to run setup on a particular app.
could not load the dll library c:\documents and settings\owner\my documents\palm os desktop\userdata.dll. the specified module could not be found.
i did an online chat with a palm rep and he couldn't help. the provider of the app can't help either.

the application is called aapalm which is a program for archery arrow tragectory. it is a palm app. when installed on the computer, it is supposed to load into the handheld at next hotsync.

Strange Error Message - won't let me sync

I've been able to sync 107 of the 232 songs in my iTunes library. When I try to sync so that the other songs will appear on my iPod I get the message:
"Attempting to copy to the disk 'KDESCH'S IP' failed. The disk could not be read from or written to."
Is there something wrong with my version of iTunes? I feel like I'm miising a file or something. Any suggestions about how to solve this. It's very frustrating. I got some songs on my iPod but not nearly all of them. UGH!!

so my computer crashed a while back and i redownloaded itunes on my new laptop. when i tried to put new songs on my ipod it says i need to sync my ipod. is there a way i can do this without having to start over, so i dont have to take the time to put on each and every one of my cds on it? it took a long time and i just want to add more songs. can anyone help me. what does it mean to consolidate your library, can that help me?

FCP 5.1 won't let me save project.

Hello All
Working on a series we are networked on OS and running FCP 5.1 system osx 10.4.11
pretty much every other day FCP has an error and won't let you save to the network where all the projects live.
So we have to save to the desktop quit out of FCP drag the file from desktop to it's rightful home on the server and then all is good.
As I said keeps happening and is a drag so if anyone know why this conflict keeps arising would love to know the way out!
BTW once FCP starts acting this way it will continue to do it for all projects until you quit out of the app and restart FCP, then it behaves.

Always work locally. Keep the projects you are editing on your computer, and back up to the server at the end of the night. This way, you have a copy in TWO places, and that can only be good.
I have been to three companies that use FCP in a SAN environment and this is the standard practice for that. Unless you are running something like EDIT SHARE, that is designed around the Avid Unity concept...work locally, save globally.

How much is "plenty of storage"? Go to Settings>General>About>Available
The GB size of the download file is the compressed size (like .zip or .dmg). When the file is installed/uncompressed it can be 2-3 times larger.

Missing Render files, won't play, General Error message

I have Final Cut Pro 5.0.4 on my Mac 1.8 Ghz Power PC G5, using Mac OS 10.4.10.
I just opened a Final Cut Pro project and got a message that several render files were offline. No idea how that happened, and I couldn't find them to reconnect. Now, when I try to play the video, it stops and a "General Error" message comes up.
I tried re-rendering the whole thing,and reconnected all my media files, but it still won't play. Any ideas on how to save my project?

There are just too many possibilities for us to start guessing. Try searching for GENERAL ERROR and MISSING RENDER FILES, both topics get posted often so you'll find several suggestions and possible causes. However, not many people bother to close their threads around here so there's no way to know if any of the information we passed on was of any help.
FCP 4 and 5 had the odd super-power to make files disappear as if they had never existed. General Error often indicates a corrupt project file so try to open one of your AutoSaves.

Adobe After Effects CS5 won't let me save!

I am trying to save in After Effects CS5 and it won't let me save the project, this error code keeps popping up:
I try searching for this folder and I cannot find it. Are these files hidden? I have been searching for the passed hour! and can't find the folders anywhere! I am at the tipping point here! Please Help!
