wmv is a Windows Media format. I don't know why Realplayer is coming into it since that deals primarily with Real format files and maybe a few generic formats.
You need
Free Flip4mac QuickTime player components - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx
After installation a new Flip4Mac pane will appear in System Preferences. Make sure you set the boxes to ensure that it will play WMV files in Quicktime.
or play the files with VLC
VLC media player - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ - general media player that plays just about anything.
While you're at it you might install:
Perian codecs for Quicktime - http://www.perian.org - plugins to add functionality to Quicktime for playing additional audio and video formats
Quicktime audio problems, Perian, VLC - http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9013669 - read note about uninstalling prior DIVX support before installing Perian.
Perian doen't do WMV but it's handy to get many things to play in Quicktime.
Note, if these are protected WMV, nothing on a Mac will play those (unless you also have Windows installed).

Running Creative Suite 6 Production Premium Win ESD on Windows 7. Premier Pro locks up intermittently when trying to export media files. We have updated all Adobe and Windows software. Error message says PP has encountered a problem and will close. Can anyone help?

Error code = -32766 when trying to export to flv

I get that error when trying to export to flv using iMovie 08, any idea why I am getting this error?

iMovie 7 allows export to YouTube accounts that would generate a .flv file but I believe that conversion to Flash is still handled by the YouTube upload.
Long ago Macromedia (now Adobe) offered a Flash Exporter that, when installed, added the option to export to Flash Video from any QuickTime aware application. You may have moved that old component from a previous install to a newer machine.
I don't think it has ever been updated to run native on Intel Macs so you would need to run the app under Rosetta.

I can´t open FC project ( it is related to my previous post: File error: Access denied when trying to export).

No, I did not use material with avid codec but I wanted to export to a .avi video.
2- What exactly are your clip settings and your sequence settings?

So I tried to change permissions of the Hard Disk with OS, then, one after another some windows appeared, here first of them, and a detail:
The system extension can´t be used
The system extension "/System/Library/ Extensions/ACard671xSCSI.kext" was not well instaled, the it can be used. Try to reinstal it or contact manofacturer to obtain a update.

(NOTE: there were a lot of more windows related to differents extensions, some are: "Sustem/Library/Extensions/Apple BMC.Kext"; "(...)Apple EFI Runtime.kext" , "(...) AppleEFIRuntime.Kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleEFINVRAM-kext", etc. I have almost all captured, in case you need more details I can upload the as well).
Then, I turn off the computer (because it stop working with all those pop ups windows) and next time I tried to turn it on, it never restart again ( it turn in but never start the OS), therefore I restarted from the DVD.

I have the external disk in technical service, they will try to repair it. It was in MacPlus (registrered) format, configured in Raid 0 ( two hard disk enclosed together and working as one). Now, to recaptured the tapes for the project I have purchase another hard disk ( 1 T and configured it with MacPlus (registrered) format), this new hard disk is well detected by my computer.

Why is Premiere getting an error when trying to export .MXF files?

I have a video that I need to submit to DMDS and it must be a .mxf file. This is the first time I've ever had to export a .mxf so I am not too familiar with the type. I have been exporting every other type of file for years and never had an issue (H.264, quicktime, etc.). However, when I try exporting .mxf I get the generic rendering error which then stops the export.
The first time I tried, the video was down to 12 minutes left (after about 2 and a half hours) when I got the error.
The next time, it crashed right away with over 2 hours still remaining.
So it does not seem to be a corrupt clip because: A) I've been rendering this video out as other file types for rough previews, drafts, etc and it's worked fine and B) The 2 crash times were on opposite ends of the spectrum.
I am running an iMac with OSX 10.7.5, 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 8GB ram...I am using Premiere Pro Version 6.0.0
I do have Third Party plug ins installed but have never had an issue exporting in the past, only with this .mxf file.

If you have GPU accelertation enabled in Premiere Pro, try switching to Software Only.
Are you queuing the job to AME or clicking "Export" in the Export Settings dialog (which encodes directly through Premiere)? Whichever path you're going down, try the other one.
I'd also keep an eye on your resource usage, especially RAM, while encoding in progress. With 8GB of RAM, I'd be surprised if that were the problem.

I am using EPM 11.1.2.1 version and trying to export all resources using LCM utility. When select any application in share service ,the error info as below (extracted from SharedServices_LCM.log ):

OEDQ 11 - error.connection.externaldatasource - While trying to export excel file into local drive

Team I am trying to export a dataset as a excel spreadsheet on to my local drive. when I ever I try to run the Export I am getting error.connection.externaldatasource error message.
Even I tried creating a excel file in my local and point that file in EDQ - Data Stores connection , still getting the same error message.
Please help.

Error code 11 when trying to open .indd file

Im having a small issue opening certain .indd files, they were working fine when i tried to view them earlier in the week. When i double clicked to open them today, i got a small box saying " configuration error, uninstall and reinstall and it shows as ERROR CODE: 11." I already unistalled and reinstalled indesign cc, but it still shows the error when trying to view files. Any help fixing this issue.

In iPhoto I get "unable to render file for export" when trying to export a file to an SD card?

I have been trying to save jpg files to an SD card. When I export from iPhoto is says "unable to render file for export". It will let me export to the desktop. Then when I try to copy or move to the SD card, it says the SD card does not have enought free space. It's a 1 gig card and the files are under 100k. I have tried different SD cards, formating the cards with the camera. The card has 200 filles (57mb) when I started and wanted to add more. I have ereased the card trying to see if that would help. No go! Any ideas?

What is the filesystem on that card?
i assume, you made sure that the little white lock mechanism at the side of the card is unlocked?
Try, if you can set the "Ignore ownership on this volume" flag for the card in the "Get Info" panel for the card.

Lightroom crashes when trying to export any files

When I try to export retouched files to hard drive files my Mac crashes and has to be force quitted. I thought this maybe a L'room 4 problem so I bought L'room 5 and it's still happening. What can I do?

Why is illustrator crashing when trying to export .ai file as a .psd

I am trying to export a fairly small .ai file (1mb) to a layered psd file. My computer has over 100gb of memory and during export says startup disk full then crashes illustrator and my file is not exported. I have exported with all rgb settings

Error message when trying to export audio file to DVD

I recorded an interview on a portable voice recorder and transferred the data into Garage Band by connection of a cable connected to the headphone of the device to the speaker input in the Mac. Garage Band took the audio file. It is 1.5 GB. I did some minor editing and wanted to save the file onto a DVD. When I selected "share" to export song to the DVD, an error message came up stating that the file was over 2 GB, which it wasn't. The file was then broken in two and one part was "shared", but the same error message came up. I took the computer to the Apple store for the Genus to help me with, but he had the same problem. The only way that he was able to save the audio file to a DVD was to select the file and place the file on a blank DVD. However, it can only be listened on a computer with Garage Band. I intend to use my voice recorder again to interview people. How can I input the audio file in the Mac and have it saved on a DVD to be played on multiple devices?

What software version are you using?

Is it happening with all kinds of PDF you are trying to convert or any specific one?

Error code 180 when trying to export HD movie

I have tried exporting two different iMovie projects, all with 1080 hd footage. One about 25min, the other about 10min in length. I have tried the "Large" and "HD" settings on both movies for export and receive error code 180 about 2/3's into the export. I can export to iDVD from the same projects with no problem.
I am using a brand new iMac (OSX v. 10.6.4, i7, 8gb ram, 1tb hd, ATI 5750). iMovie 09 (8.0.6). Any suggestions?
