General error- trying to call n900

Hello, first i am sorry for my english. So i have a problem with my Nokia n900, when i am trying to call other person i hear strange signal and on screen showed text with GENERAL ERORR. i tryed with other sim cards but its the same. Ofcourse  i can received calls and sms. also i tryed to update software with nokia program to clear device from application but it change nothing. so i dont understand why i cant call??? what i should to do ?

Hi,
Don't worry about your english as it is fine.
In reference to the issue you are experiencing I would check over my settings and if your handset is unlocked i would also try an alternative Sim card.
If as you say updates are not clearing the issue then it would not hurt for you to seek assistance from an approved Nokia Service centre.
Hope you get this sorted soon so you can continue to get the most out of this awesome machine.
Nokia Lumia 520
 iphone 6 Plus.
Be happy !!

2 days ago, when I tried to make a call, it started to display "General Error".
I can't call and send SMS, but I can receive them.
I changed the Sim, reflashed, clear device... but it doesn't work.
I bought my N900 from Nokia online store, in UK, free sim.
Finally, I searched on Google, lots of people have the same problem like me, one could fix it but I can't contact him, the rest couldn't.
    Anybody can help me please?
if a reflash didn't fix than i think this might be a hardware problem, try searching at http://talk.maemo.org/ first than look for the nearest nokia care center .

Yes- stop invoking an object that is disconnected from its clients.  This will get rid of your "error"
Of course, that means nothing to anything that is not a 'Windows OS'.....
Please - post the offending code so we can analize the code and not the"error" messagases  Hmmmm

  • FABridge - Error: You are trying to call recursively into the Flash Player [...]

I'm using FABridge to communicate between JS (and GWT) and a flex component I've written, but I've run into a strange error:
You are trying to call recursively into the Flash Player which is not allowed. In most cases the JavaScript setTimeout function, can be used as a workaround.
I know what the error means, but what I don't understand is why I'm only receiving this error when I run the application locally (127.0.0.1) in this one webapp.
Once I upload the app to the remote testing server, the error goes away and the app functions as it should.  I've tried to use setTimeout without any luck.
I thought this might be a crossdomain problem so I set Security.allowDomain("*") in flex and the same on the testing server via a crossdomain.xml file but this did nothing.
The function that is being called takes a parameter (image or an image wrapped in swf file) via the querystring and adds it to the stage.  The files all exist on the remote server.
Another strange part is that when I run the flex app via Flash Builder it behaves fine. Also, I've run the component as part of a separate project locally without issue.
The problem only exists when I run the component as part of the this project, when I'm working on it locally.  I even have another local app using the same component that works fine.
I'm at a loss.  Any ideas?

Ok, I was excited when I noticed I didn't change allowscriptaccess, but that didn't work.
    Just to recap:
-I have Security.allowDomain("*") as the first line in the init() (creationComplete) function
-I have a crossdomain.xml file located on the remote server that allows="*" and ports="*" (because gwt debugs through :8888)
    -allowscriptaccess is set to always
-I am using FABridge to communicate between JS and the swf.  Calling the function directly from Firebug causes the same error.
Even trying to call a function that is completely unrelated to the remote domain produces the same error.  For example, getAppHeight().  So at second glance, this doesn't seem to be a security issue?
The only post (Google Cache) about the error suggests I use FABridge.MethodsToCallLater which doesn't seem to exist anymore in the version of FABridge that I downloaded.  The copy of FABridge I have doesn't have any version information in the file, but I believe I pulled it from the Flex 3 SDK.
Can anyone tell me if that feature has been removed/added in recent versions?  Or any other insights into my current situation?  Thanks for looking!

Processing the soap call in the test programm ends in a system exception (cx_ai_system_fault)  with the message:
"General Error Es ist ein Fehler bei der Proxy-Verarbeitung aufgetreten (  PART UNKNOWN (NULL)    )"
It seems as if there is no response or a response in a wrong format given by the webservice.
We had a look at the ICF-Trace.
The request seems to be a proper soap-call.
But the response is not in XML-format and therefore could not be completely displayed.
    it says:
Ungültig auf der obersten Ebene im Dokument. Fehler beim Bearbeiten der Ressource 'file:///C:/Dokumente und Einstellungen/S...

    Could anybody help ?

    Hello Mathias,
in our case the problem was, that the WDSL used parameters, which were not correcty interpreted by the SAP-Routine that creates the proxy.
We changed the WDSL using only paramters covert by SAP.
Here ist the WSDL that worked fine:

  • General error (34) ??? tried everything FCP

Hey all, I am confused here. Before you reply note that I am not hugely tech-savvy, you may have to break it down for me.
I am using FCP and trying to export a basic 6 minute video. The source vid plays fine in quicktime. I have searched all over for a fix for general error 34 and what I've found is...
    this
    http://www.geniusdv.com/weblog/archives/general_error_34_in_final_cut_pro.php
which says to check the drive to make sure its not corrupted - did that, disk is fine. not gonna buy disk warrior for this one occasion. changed my scratch disk to a new folder in the same FCP files main folder, hasn't worked.
tried rebooting the program, taking out the extra audio files, i made sure that there were no in and out points, tried putting in and out points at the beginning and the end, nothing is working. rebooted, started a new project, still wont export. i just recorded this vid in eyeTV, works in quicktime, wont export... help?

OK, a number of comments.  Disk Warrior is invaluable and will save your butt when nothing else will.  Buy it.
You're dealing with 2 different issues.  Editing formats and delivery formats.  h264 is not an editing format.  Convert to prores or another fcp friendly formats (look at the easy setups to see other options) and edit in a matching sequence.  WHEN YOUR DONE, export a selfcontained qt with current settings and then bring that file into compressor and choose a high quality h264 qt for your DELIVERY.    Submit that to youtube.  It'll work.  If you need more specific settings for your submission to youtube, post back.  I think there's even a "share" option to youtube from within fcp.

    Hi
Can it be so that You try to boot a G5 (Power) Mac from one external hard disk - then try to boot an INTEL Mac from same external Mac.
WILL NOT WORK - It's not just the Mac OS Extended formation that plays a part here - they have to be formatted differently to be bootable on each system.
I don't think there is any solution to this AT ALL.
When You format a hard disk.
    • Select Partitions
    • Under the graphic representation to the left there is an Alternative button
Here You select if it's supposed to be Bootable on a Power CPU or INTEL-CPU
    No other possibilities.
    Yours Bengt W

  • "General error" while trying to export my movie.

Hi all, I saw a few threads with this topic but no one seems to have a solution so I thought I would post a new one hoping for a miracle
I have a small movie that I made that I want to export with "using quicktime conversion" option. As soon as I rename the title and choose a destination, I get the "General Error" message that pops up with no number or error code attached to it. I tried saving the file to different hard drives with a lot of space to spare and still won't work. I also did the "render all" option before trying to export my movie. BTW, I'm only at around 11 minutes of movie and my whole project should be about 2 hours...
Also, I chose the correct AVCHD 1920 X 1080 codec since my original data comes from my Canon HF200.
When i was only a few minutes into my project, I did a test film and I managed to export it but had no sound when playing the test movie on my WDTV (that's another problem though) but now it won't even export at all... Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    A couple things to try:
    1. Decrease the amount of RAM allowed to the application and see if it was a problem with the OS not having enough to function.
    2. Basic troubleshooting procedure, trashing preferences and repairing permissions:

  • General Error when trying to edit video

I'm trying to put together a short video in Final Cut Express and whenever I try to view clips in the viewer an error message pops up that says "General Error." I click OK and another message pops up that says "Error: Out of Memory." This is a very small project and there should be no issue with Memory. I have about 1.5 GB of footage and there is about 25GB of space on the hard drive. I originally had the clips on an external USB harddrive, but I thought that extra step in the process was causing the error, so I put the footage on the desktop.
    Please help!

The fact that it's a USB external drive shouldnt really matter at this point as I copied all of the videos onto the desktop and disconnected the external drive.
As for the still images, I haven't been able to put anything in the timeline as of yet. The only way I can get something in there is if I drag the entire clip to the timeline, render the whole thing (huge time waster) and then cut it that way. I have the time code for the clips written out where I want to edit it so I'd really like to be able to edit it the normal way.
