General Errors : Large files, proxies, help page

Hi!
I've just signed up for CreatePDF to combine some pdf files down to a single file for use on my iPad, but so far the service has been rather disappointing...
1. Large Files
According to this help question: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5234707#5234707 (which references the FAQ), the max file size is 100MB, I guess this refers to the max output size. However I am getting errors trying to combine two PDF files, the first is 7394 KB and the second 13991KB. In Firefox and Internet Explorer the error is "an unspecified error", in Safari its "Please use files greater that 0 bytes". The files themselves read fine in Adobe, so I can only assume this is an upload file size issue - can any one confirm this?
2. The desktop application fails to install, stating that I should check my internet connection or proxy. My connection is behind a proxy, but the installer never gives an option to set the proxy, or use the system wide proxy connection specified in Windows!
3. When trying to click on the "CreatePDF Help" i get a 404 (http://www.adobe.com/special/errorpages/404.html)
So... yes! so far not so good! Can any one help?

You can't read larger than 1gb. I had it grab the data in multiple pieces and it works now.

GENERAL ERROR WON'T OPEN HELP!!!!!

for a few months now, i've had a problem that, every week or so, won't allow me to save. I've since gotten over it (i never found a solution) by exporting it to a quicktime file every time it happens, so i can re-import the changes i've made that day. Today, it gave me the error message again (it reads: "Unknown error: cannot save"), and so i exported it and quit w/ out saving. But when I restarted it (and eventually the computer) nothing will open and i get "general error" message (no ID #). I have sifted through other posts, but no one seems to have the exact problem as me, or else nobody offered a solution. I've made this entire project w/ FCE 2.0.3, I've trashed prefs, i've tried opening from an autosave... nothing. This has nothing to do w/ exporting to quicktime movie or logging/capturing, which i have seen other people have trouble with.
also, found today that it is only this project that seems to be corrupted- others will open. but i still need this project!!!
fyi, yes this has been cross-posted in the FCE forum, but a) nobody answered it there b) some people only check this one and c) i find a LOT of problems apply to both systems

Did you get your answer in FCE forum?
Corrupted projects happen often when you bring a Photoshop file in that is in CMYK space.
If you can find that file -- remove it.
Or -
Move your scratch folder to another location... move all your title files and pic files to another location.
Your project file should open then and you'll be asked to reconnect the media. DON'T. Reconnect one by one from the application's browser until you get the corrupted file.
Re import that file (as I assume...) into Photoshop and change it RGB space. Then reimport.

I can't watch shopnbc on my iPad from their website. I used to be able to watch it live, but now it says error loading file. Help?

Having issues with watching shopnbc live, from their website, on my iPad 4. I used to be able to watch it live, but for some reason, when I select the play button, it tells me "error loading file" . That's it. Anyone know a fix for this, or what may be going on here?

My guess is that they recently changed how the videos work. I logged in on my MacBook and the stream worked fine, but it is Flash content in a JW Player video player. From what I see on the website. This video player works with html5 as well as Flash so I'm not sure why it isn't working, unless the site has not updated the content for html5 and is only using Flash right now. But you should get the message on the iPad that the content is in Flash and can't be viewed on the iPad.
I tried it with three different browsers identifying as mobile and as desktop browsers and I get the same results as you no matter what I do. So my assumption is that the site content was recently changed and it has to be updated. But that is just a guess.
The message about the website having issues when I used iCab Mobile and identified as a desktop browser. The issue has to be on their end.

Error on file copy HELP

Windows xp clients get this error when trying to connect to a share point.
"the specified network name is no longer available"
I can replicate the error. And i can still see the share, and access files. But the current operation (usually a copy) dies
I have the following services running:
AFP
DHCP
DNS
OD
SMB
I'm on a closed "air gap" network. All I want to do is share files.

LSM_Map file keeps backing up (large file) please help!

Hello, Since upgrading to Lion I have an issue where there is a file (LSM_Map) that is in the Library/Preferences/SDMHelpData/Other/French folder....
This file is quite big. In my case it's over 150 megs. Another user I found via google's file running a spanish version of OSX Lion with the same problem and has a 300 meg LSM_Map file. The problem is the file is being backed-up not every run of TM but quite frequently.... It looks related to non english Lion setups...
It does not appear to be slowing down the backup but would like to know why and what exactly this is?

Saving large files as 1 page

I made a poster in Publisher size 10x14 I saved it as a pdf. It saved in 4 pages. Is ther a way I can save it as 1 page sized 10x14

Acrobat Reader was a long time ago; I believe v6 and earlier. Today it is called Adobe Reader.
Adobe Acrobat is the PDF creation and editing tool.
What did you use to create your PDF from the Publisher document?

Remote Desktop Connection Drops when opening a large file or Transferring a large file

I am running a Dell R720 Windows 2008 R2 Server. When I open a Large PDF or transfer a large file to the server, the server drops the remote desktop connection. I do not see any errors and no events are reported. I can access the server via
iDRAC 7 enterprise and the server is still up and functioning properly; however, the remote desktop connection can only be restored after the server is rebooted. I have read the following article below do not see any conflicts.

That said, the issue happens when:
1. opening a large PDF
2. Using a UNC path to transfer a large file
3. Using Hyper-V to import a .VHD (another large file)

Does this issue facing for single user or multiple users?
Have you tried on other system? IS it, facing same issue.
From description it seems network issue, please check whether there is any drop for network connection or it works on low bandwidth. You need to see there is no loss from bandwidth perspective. There are other certain reason which can drop the connection or
performance as remote desktop works on many different points.
For try you can autotune disable and check with following command.
netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled
To renable follow beneath command
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
When you are remote desktop to the remote server, please set the connection speed accordingly to optimize performance and might it will resolve your case of dropping connection.

General Error B2B-50014 during AS2 send

I have setup 2 B2B Servers - Sender and Receiver. I am trying to send a custom xml document from the Sender to the Receiver using AS2-1.1. I have setup a listening channel on the Sender to pick up the source xml file from a folder and transmit to the Receiver through AS2 using the httpReceiver URL on the Receiver. I have turned off Validation on the agreement o both sides and agreements have been successfully deployed.
When I drop a file into the folder on the Sender, the file gets picked up (file disappears from folder), but I get an error message as follows. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The flow starts from a file folder. The sender instance of Oracle B2B is setup to pick up the file from the folder using File protocol and send to the Receiver B2B instance using AS2. When I look at the application message on the error message in the Reports tab, it indicates that the file has been picked up as follows:

switch the location of your render files and see if that helps. I had this happen week before last and it drove me crazy (crazier) I switched scratch disks and met deadline. Now it all behaves like it never happened. some bit stuck somewhere, that took the machine being off for a while to cure

Importing QT general error

Ok so Im trying to import a clip into FCE2 its h.264, and its saying general error, or file not recognized. Should it be in a different compression?

Yes, DV is ~13GB per hour. I think your conversion via QTPro is probably the best way to do it.
One of the great benefits of H.264 is that the quality is so good in such a small file, but it is an output format, not an editing format.

Deleting all users WER (Windows error reporting) files

I am using windows server 2008 R2 (Standard), I have created around 120 users in this server, yesterday i found that my C drive is full, after checking all i found around 30GB is used for Windows error reporting files, Please help me to delete This files

For what it's worth, this is the script I use to find Windows Error Reports that have not been sent, and delete archived Windows Error Reports:
It's not currently doing per-user error reports, as we don't have people logging into the servers, typically.

HELP! Can't Open a FCP project File, "General Error 41"

Trying to open a project for a Good guy
over a barrel, using FCStudio /FCP 5.1 FCP opens,
then says "General Error 41". All I need to
do is create an SD Version DVD, But first
I Gotta open it.

Since this is your friend's FCP project file, check to see if he/she has version 5.1.1 or above.
I think the project file is from a newer format.
For some reason, the bump from FCP 5.1 to 5.1.x was big enough to require the project files to be a different format.
If that is the case, (and if you want to take the chance on the unknown,) you can upgrade to the version your friend has (or above.)
Make sure you really want to upgrade and are prepared for all the potential problems!
