General gd-80 stuff plus I got my raid 0 working!

I had put in a new thread a cpl days ago reguarding not bn able to get the control-f to display so I could get to the raid rom bios. Well, I finally got to it, but I guess I just pushed the control-f at the right moment because I still couldn't see it to know when I could. My only thought is that possibly my 46 inch HDTV may have cut off the screen a couple inches or so making it unviewable. I did notice on my bios that It does the same thing but in the bios it doesan't really hurt anything. I now have two 320 gig western digital hard drives in raid 0 (8mb caches,7200 rpm) with one being blue and one black. I truly love this board! A lot of naysayers blah'd about MSI boards being junk and whatever but let me tell you this: I recently(10/12) bought a new Zalman Z11 case and it unknowingly had both top fans crosswired from the factory and I didn't have a clue. Well, it ran fine with the exception of no top fans but after about a week (hadn't had time to troubleshoot with my work schedule) I smelled something bad and shut her down. Looked at the mobo and the fan header had a chip right next to it and it was actually MELTED into a blob. I lost that hdr, and my #1 ram channel for some reason but after switching my ram to channel 2 and unplugging the fans, voila! She ran per4fect! I did rma it a week later but I couldn't believe it still ran as fast as ever! Then MSI,after I told them what happened, gave me a brand new board, and the V2 one at that! I bought this mobo "open box" for 127 bucks and it wasn't even their fault. Thanks MSI for standing behind ur product evenb after unusual abuse. Fellas, this company seems great to me! I would say the Windows PC would be your best bet but the odds of recovering anything at all is still extreme poor even there.
The way RAID 0 works is a bit like dealing cards. When you start a new hand in a card game the dealer deal a card to each player in turn. In the case of RAID 0 the computer is the dealer and the disks are the players.
So what you are attempting to do is undeal the hand. Now while that may sound trival, it is in fact not. Hence on of the reason that everyone says RAID Arrays should always be backed up.

There may be an add-on installed for the toolbar. Go to Tools>Add-ons (or about:addons), select Extensions tab and remove the toolbar from there (if it's there)

Hotmail Plus' SMTP Server, anyone got it to work?

Well, my gf just got a new macbook after I finally converted her to a mac, but now I am trying to set up her Hotmail plus account in Mac Mail. (because entourage is too slow)
Since microsoft is now offering a pop3/smtp service for their plus members, I decided to upgrade her account and pay the 20 bux.
so far so good.
Obviously, when I try to set up her hotmail account in outlook on windows, or in entourage in mac, it works perfectly.
Only thing is, I want to use it in mac mail.
so I got the necessary info from microsoft (after 20 emails back and forth, and them pretending not to understand my question...)
POP: pop3.live.com (port 995)
SMTP: smtp.live.com (port 25)
Note: make sure you check the box that indicates that your outgoing server requires authentication (in most mail clients this is not checked by default).
Username: your full email address
Password: your Windows Live ID password
After setting up in mac mail with this info, I can now receive emails perfectly.
The only problem is that I cannot send any.
the smtp server seems dead, or non existent.
So my question is, is there anyone out there who got this to work? in mac mail or any other pop3 program?
I think its not a port problem, as I send my own mail on my own smtp server on the same router using port 25 as well.
Lastly, I would like to clarify that I do understand that hotmail *****, but moving to gmail or anything like that is not an option for her, its too big a hassle atm, so please do not respond if that was going to be your response

IF you are getting no messages period - not just no iMessages - then it is very likely a carrier issue. It is AT&T and not the phone. SMS travels via the carrier wave used to make phone calls - iMessages use data and go through Apple servers as you know
If you are getting no messages at all - then I wonder if your cell service is ok or if you are in an area of strong signal - then does your SIM card need to be looked at

iTunes only keeps one backup, every new backup replaces the old one, only backups used to restore from are not overwritten and marked with a time stamp.
If you can't find any other backup in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, your contact info's are gone. Only if you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you would be able to restore the old backup folder containing the latest backup at that time.

Has anyone got NVrotate to work under Win98SE?

I installed the latest driver for this card for Win98
NVrotate is not available as an option in Win98SE
Display properties-->settings -->GeForce FX5200
I temporarily moved a drive with WinXP Pro onto this machine.
NVrotate is an available option in
Display properties-->settings -->GeForce FX5200
and works fine.
But for various compatibility reasons this machine has to been running Win98SE.
Has ANYONE got NVrotate to work under Win98 ??????

I managed to get it to work, you have to install two files
the first for the actual python script files.
the second for the user interface.
you might have installed the user interface, but without installing python, and that's why its not loading up the application, also make sure you install python to phone memory.
On my N96 I installed:
Python for S60 1.4.4
Python script shell 1.4.4
if you get an 'update error' when installing its because you have not un-installed all of the old python stuff, open app manager on the handset and un-install all python relating files
one last thing, install python and the shell to the phone memory (c drive)

This is sometimes caused by a problem with the iTunesPrefs.xml file, normally found at C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunesPrefs.xml. Try dragging this to the desktop and trying again.
Alternatively the problem may be that you have McAfee AV and it is preventing iTunes from updating the same file and thus causing the problem. See Why does iTunes delete my itunesprefs.xml? for details.

RegisterAlarm - has anyone got this to work?

I'm trying to get the registerAlarm function to work on a real phone, but it only works one time. I want the Midlet to be executed once every 30 sec, but after the first reschedule it stops rescheduling.
Does anyone have a clue on what's wrong? I do everything according to the book as far as I know.
I've looked everywhere, and have not been able to find anyone that actually has got this to work. Is it a bug in Midp 2.0? Does registerAlarm work more than once?

...even starting the Midlet manually to force a rescheduled task won't work, but what is strange, is that if I turn the phone completely off and back on again, I can get it to work one more time.

[Solved] KDE 4.4 Knetworkmanager, has anyone got this to work yet?

Been trying to get knetworkmanager working on KDE 4.4 and haven't got it to work yet. Well initially it did work. Here's the steps I did.
1) Had network running '/etc/rc.d/network start
2) Installed 'kdeplasma-applets-networkmanagement'
3) Commented out interfaces in '/etc/rc.conf' and defined dhcp:
eth1="dhcp"
INTERFACES=(!eth0 !eth1 !wlan0)
4) Set hostname in '/etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf':
[main]
plugins = keyfile
[keyfile]
hostname = pavilion
5) Added 'networkmanager' to daemon array in '/etc/rc.conf'
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng crond alsa hal kdm dnsmasq networkmanager cups netfs)
6) Added 'network' group to user:
gpasswd -a gen2ly network
7) Stopped network '/etc/rc.d/network stop'
8) Brought down interfaces 'ifconfig eth0 down && ifconfig eth1 down && ifconfig wlan0 down'
9) Started networkmanager
/etc/rc.d/networkmanager start
10) Started networkmanager applet (seems to me it was already started but I guess not??)
11) Got connected to network.
After reboot however, the networkmanager applet is telling me 'Unmanaged' when I rollover it, and when I click it it says 'Network Management disabled'. I've tried a couple things (like un-commenting the network devices on the interfaces line and restarting) to no effect. Doesn't seem I'm able to get it up again. Anyone else had luck with this? Did I miss something?

Off-topic somewhere here now, Ok, a good deal off-topic.. looking at the wiki page for configuring I think the wiki under section, 'Disable interfaces' is erroneous. Does NetworkManager really parse rc.conf? I can't think of any reason it would need to. I'm thinking that NetworkManager would naturally scan and then do dhcp on wired, followed by wireless. And for those that do a static ip, they can configure the applet. To test, I put this in my rc.conf:
#eth0="dhcp"
#eth1="dhcp"
#wlan0="dhcp"
INTERFACES=(!eth0 !eth1 !wlan0)
And it worked fine. I'm thinking I could erase them and not have a problem.

Did you try to go to Settings > Store, tap on Apple ID, Log out and Login again.
What message do you get when you open the App Store?

I've spent the last good while trying to get the versioning download protocol to work so that only the changed files are downloaded using a jardiff. I've seen these messages before on this forum and I have never found a successfull answer. Rather than first off posting the contents of my entire version.xml file, jnlp file etc, I would REALLY appreciate it if anyone could tell me if they have actually got this to work.

ScheduleWorld.com uses this and it works perfectly.
There are bugs related to foreign characters and the versioning servlet will bomb because of this. It's 100% reproducable, and I logged a bug but I never heard back from Sun (maybe 3 months ago).

SQL*Plus COPY command does not work in SQL Developer. I am using SQL Developer 1.5.1 on Windows XP.
copy from <source_db_connection> to <target_db_connection> create <target_tab_name> using select * from <source_tab_name>
Does it work on different versions of SQL Developer ?
Anyone had any success in trying COPY command in SQL Developer?

While it hasn't been updated for v1.5, this page lists the supported SQL*Plus commands. COPY is explicitly listed as not supported.
