  • TalentFramework module -  Position Details Panel General Information

    Dear Nakisa Experts,
    TalentFramework module
I would like to know in Position Details Panel > General Information.
    May I know how:
    1.  to make field Org Unit field data unclickable.
    2.  to enable additional fields  Cost Centre and Qualification/Experience
Please specify which folder and file need to be configure in Nakisa.
Hope you guys could help me on this.
    Regards,
    Andi Rossi

    Hi Andi,
    1. The Position Details Panel does not have OrgUnit listed on it.
    2. To achieve this you need to follow this procedure in the AdminConsole:
    a. Create a new function in the AdminConsole in Application-wide Settings > Data Center > Edit/Create new data element joining multiple SAP Tables
    b. Navigate to Job Architecture module > Positions > Details Designer
    c. Select Create Linked Detail
    d. Enter a name, select SAPPositionDetailsConfiguration, select the data element you created in step a and then map the fields to link them together (usually ID and the key field from your new data element, possibly OBJID)
    e. Add a section in the details panel using your new linked details and au voila!
All of this should be documented in the Admin guide in the Root\Documentation folder.
    Good luck!

  • Generic iViews in MSS- problem with launching in the general information

    Hi,
My requirement is to display information with a custom query (display info from P0008) in the General Information.
For this, we have chosen to work with Generic iViews.
I have followed the following links:
    Link: [http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/6c/9358f7d8dc43838e4f1135b9c37adb/content.htm]
Link: [MSS Generic iView not working in General Information Page ]
The problem i am facing is with Launching the iView Wizard and General Information provided in the 1st link. I am not able to continue with the pointsd under Portal Content Administration
    Thanks,
    Pinki

    Hi Siddharth,
Thanks for the reply. But my query was not regarding ESS in MSS.
Its about Generic iViews where you can fetch data using custom queries and user groups and display the same in the general information. I have attached the link provided by SAP below. There are mainly 3 parts to the config:
    1. Creating of custom query.
    2. Using FPM to add the generic iview for list to the perspective of the FPM appl of General information.
    3. Then creating the WD iview of the added view within General information from content Admin and then adding the WD page to the General information page.
This is my comprehension of the steps provided. However there is one of the link within the Portal Content Admin that does not work.
Please find the link from help.sap.com below:

  • Customization of MSS -- Team -- General Information Page

    Hi Experts,
I have to customize MSS --> Team --> General Information Page.
The General Information page contains following iViews:
    1) Employee Search iView
    2) Personal Data iView
    3) General Data iView
    4) Absence Days iView
Personal Data iView, General Data iView and Absence Days iView are populated based on Employee Search iView.
For the new requirement, we have to add one new iView say XYZ iView in General Information page. The XYZ iView will be populated based on Employee Search iView.
There are two approach to do this work:
    a) Make changes in the Web Dynpro code of Employee Search iView - This appoach seems to be difficult. If you have worked on similar requirement, kindly share with me your experience and how you completed the work.
    b) Do some configuration changes - This appoach seems to be easy. If you have worked on similar requirement, kindly share with me your experience and how you completed the work.
    Regards,
    Gary

  • Would like to see  General Information of an Image

    Hi,
My iMac is running OSX Yosemite Version 10.10. I have a rather simple question, but can't seem to find instructions of how to do so. I would like to have the "General Information" of an image pops up when I open the image in Preview.  In the previous OS, there is an "Show Item Info" option under Finder->View to do so. I can't find this option under Finder->View in OSX Yosemite. I would appreciate it very much if someone could let me know the solution to this problem.
    Thanks!

Select the image in Finder, then CMD+I. If you need more info, open in Preview, then Preview->CMD+I.

  • Salary Data iview inside General Information

    Hello Colleagues,
In MSS, we added the "Salary Data" iview to the "General Information" section/workset. However, when we select an employee in the "Search" area, no data is displayed in the "Salary Data".
However, the "Salary Data" works when used inside the "Compensation Information" section/workset.
The Search iview for General Information is com.sap.pct.erp.mss.generalinfo_employeesearch
The Search iview for Compensation Information is com.sap.pct.erp.mss.compensationinfo_employeesearch
My question is: Is there any way of having the "Salary Data" iview working under the "General Information" section (with General Information Search..)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marco

    Hello Marco,
The iView will not event on selection by just adding the standard delivered view  to the General Information Page. You'll probably have to do the following steps first:-
    1) Add the Salary Data FPM view to the General Information FPM application perspective using Self-Service Administrator
    2) Create a new Salary Data iView by selecting Webdynpro Java Application ->MSS Empl Profile application --> General Information --> Salary data. Add this new iView to your General Information Page
    Hope this helps.

  • IPhone GPS general information

Apple, please contradict if this accurate.
This is not a complaint, just general information as I understand it. However, many people on complaint threads appear to be confused about whether or not their unit is using satellite GPS. This is an attempt to give information for anyone who wants to know about GPS. It is NOT official.
I have both a dedicated GPS (Garmin) and an iPhone 3G.
While the dedicated GPS only works if it can pick up satellite signals, the iPhone can get your location approximately if it cannot pick up the satellites (you're indoors).
In both cases your blue dot on Maps will be surrounded by a light-blue circle indicating that your fix is approximate.
If WiFi is on it will use the nearest WiFi station - even if you're indoors It can do this because there's a database called SkyHook that maps installed WiFi stations to their location. One person on a complaint thread said that "he" was getting located some miles from his present home. He had moved lately, so it makes sense that the SkyHook database hadn't been updated with the new location.
If WiFi is off and you've got some sort of cell service (and can't "see" the satellites) you can still get a location from the nearest cell tower, but it will be less accurate still.
With approximate signals like these, Maps will display a plain blue dot that doesn't do anything special. If you soom in close enough, Maps will shoe the light-blue circle to indicate that it thinks you're in the area under the circle.
The dot will also "jump" from place to place as you move closer to another WiFi station or cell tower.
If your iPhone actually sees satellites, the blue dot will appear to "send out rays" and will move in a fluid fashion along your route.
NOTE ABOUT SEEING SATELLITES: When you first go outdoors, even a dedicated GPS will take a few minutes to locate you. These units may say "Acquiring satellites" until they get a good fix. Trees, tall buildings, and perhaps heavy cloud over will prevent any GPS from seeing enough satellites to get a fix, so that the location shown on any unit or an iPhone might jump from place to place if it can't see enough satellites to get a fix.
DISCLAIMER. I have an iPhone 3G and don't appear ever to get a satellite based fix. The unit used to get good fixes regularly, so that the problem could be due to something else such as a hardware failure or a problem with the 3.0 version of iPhone firmware. A number of solutions have been suggested, and some have worked for some people; it happens that none of them yet have worked for me.

    Thanks, everyone, for clarifications. I hope I haven't added any mis-or dis-information.
To add lne item: Motion has a free version of its software called MotionX GPS Lite, CroftUK, you can download it and read the FAQ that w7ox refers to.
That app will tell you what kind of GPS reception you're getting.
Thanks to ShadyMac for the feedback form. I will also search the Apple Knowledge Base in addition to the discussions. If I find a useful article I'll plst its number and title on this thread.

  • Removing Sevices from General Information in MSS

    Hi All,
I am very new to EP, i want to remove some links like PCR,Photo and etc from General Information in MSS. How we can remove thse links?
please need help in this regard.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

    Hi Ramesh,
To remove the services you need to do the following:
Go to transaction spro & look for Cross Application components to Home Page Framework to Services to Assign Services to Sub Areas.
If you want to hide a service in a sub area that has been delivered by SAP, proceed as follows:
    1. Look up the relevant entry in the first view (Assign Services to Sub Areas(Find Entries)) of this IMG activity.
    2. Repeat this entry with position 0 in the second view(Assign Services to Sub Areas (Add & Change Entries)) of this IMG activity.
Go to tcode SPRO in the backend and Personnel management to employee self services to service specific settings to address book to who's who to who's who:maintain settings then uncheck the photo check box
Follow it & you will get your problem solved.
Do award points if found helpful.
    Thanks
    Gourav.

  • MSS - General Information Page - "Contract Text"

    Hello Experts,
I am having trobule finding out where the field "Contact Text" comes from.  The field is shown on the MSS Page "General Information" on the iView "General Data".  The subheading is "Contract Data".
I have run a trace on the portal page.  It looks like the page is reading the following infotypes:  0000, 0001, 0002, 0016, 0041, 0105, 0008, 0032, 004.
I assume the "Contract Text" field would come from IT0016.  However, there is no "Contract Text" field on that infotype.  Can anyone please tell me where this "Contract Text" field comes from?
    Thanks,
    Mike

The information that is displayed in the field "Contract Text" field is in the Infotype 0001 , field P0001-ANSVH
    Hope this solve you doubt.

  • MSS General Information (Employee Search iview Fetching wrong Manager)

    Hi,
In MSS we have General Information page which has Employee Search iview. This iview display the information in a table which has several columns... (Name, Personal Number, Manager, Position, Staffing Ration, Job... etc)
The problem is under the Manager Section its displaying the wrong Manager Name, it should show the name of manager who has logged in but instead its showing some other manager.
e.g. If David has logged in as a Manager and is searching for employees reporting him then in the employee search iview it show David's name as Manager for all his reportees) But in our case instead of David its showing wrong manager name.
We have checked from functional point of view and the reporting relationship is okay as the manager (David) is able to approve the leave requests and overtime requests raised by his reportees.
    Kindly suggest a solution.
    Regards,
    Mittal

    1) For all other managers its working fine but this is the case with only one manager.
    2) Can you please tell me which is that FM which gets called through standard Java Webdynpro iview.
    Thanks

  • Add field to MSS General Information

    Hi experts,
I'm trying to customize the iviews in MSS > General Information to add fields to the iViews. Thus, I need to identify what are the function modules they are calling. However, when I open sap.com/mss~eepro/ Web Dynpro component in NDWI, I could not see any model! Can anyone explain to me how does this application work then if it has no model to store function modules?
    THanks,
    Zm

    Hi,
if you have access to ECC System go to transaction ST05 and run the trace with the user who is having access to run the iView. after it is on go to portal and run the General Information iView. after executing that go back to ECC system and switch off the analysis and see the RFC trace.
it will show all the Function Modules that are called when executing the iView.
and it is better if we don't make any changes to the standard FM and instead use the custom FM to add the fields, since we did the same sought of development using custom fm.
creating a model and making changes to the application.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers-

    Hi Anand,
    Hope you are doing good.
As you would be aware, a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException exception  is thrown when an application tries to load in a class through its string name using, the forName, the findSystemClass or the loadClass method in class ClassLoader, but no definition for the class with the specified name could be found.
Please deploy the Business packages (MSS and ESS) again and you should be able to fix this.
Deploy using any of the tools available: seeSAP NOTE 1715441 .
