I am trying to turn off Skype from starting automatically when Windows boots up. I went into Skype, Tools, General Tab and de-selected "Start Skype when i start Windows". When I hit "save", the tab automatically jumps from "General" to "Advanced", and it prompts me to enter port information as to how Skype connects to the internet???
I do not want to change any of the background connection settings (ie. Ports, Proxy, etc.); I just want the ability to de-select Skype from starting when Windows boots.

Skype rejects payment cards, even from Target

YES rejects all cards (Banks hate Skype for some reason cause it's outside the US); Bought another Skype Card at Target in the US and tried to apply it to paying for my phone # renewal (I get very few calls a year so I don't really need it but it is on my business card and other super important places but they (SKYPE) will not let me pay. They want us to pay using some overseas businesses. That didin't work. Now I have to write to Microsoft I guess. I just want to apply the $30 Unlimited US and Canada card to renewing my number for a year. Since I (in the past) never knew where my next dollar was coming from AUTOMATIC RENEWALS do not work for me. Support so far has been non existent. Even though I deleted what I was suppose to at Paypal it still doesn't work either. Let's face it some aspect of Skype wants you to pay their way or don't use the service.
Too bad I loved and promoted skype. Maybe the telecommunications industry took over Skype to remove one competitor. Yeah, that's probably it. Another monopoly taking away freedom worldwide. Got it.

I think this may be a clue as to what is occurring:
I just want to apply the $30 Unlimited US and Canada card to renewing my number for a year.
I learned from a colleague that Skype cards are designed and intended to fund specific Skype purchases, and not considered general credit cards. If the Skype card is offered as payment for Skype items not covered, the card would be rejected. So, in other words, if you are attempting to transfer the offer or redeem an Unlimited US & Canada subscription offer for credit needed to renew your Skype Number, this can not be done.
I am sorry to be the bringer of bad news.

SKYPE FRAUD! HELP!

Hello, I'm with Skype for the past few years now, unfortunatelly not far ago (26.06.2014) someone unauthorised made 11 payments from my account (11.50 british pounds each) and it was not me. On the same day my card issuer canceled my card as I reported the incident immidiately, yet paymets did went through and I lost over hundred ponds! I am also not able to recover my Skype acount as I dont remember first four digits from my previous debit card and this question its included in Skype account recovery form.
Today spoke to customer advisor in one of my bank brunches and he advised me to sort it out with Skype representative. I could not find contact number to your customer support call center that is why I am writing here. PLEASE HELP!

Skype number on phone

Hey everyone!
I'm not sure if this has been addressed before, if it has please forward me to the post.
So I'm about to set up a Dutch skype number for use in Canada and I'd like to know if there is a phone we can set up with the skype number. The idea is to have kind of a landline set-up for the foreign calls. Is this possible, or can a Skype number only be answerred over the phone?

You can use something like the RTX 4088 phone or one of these devices:

You will generally receive any calls to that Skype account and to the Skype number. If you wanted to keep it more separate, it would be best to have a dedicated Skype account with a Skype number in which you don't give out that Skype name. Be aware that normally you need a traditional Skype account vs. a Microsoft account to use these devices. If the phone or phone device you use supports a colon in the user name (in it's firmware) then you could sign in using the TV & Phone user name and password in your Skype account to sign in.

Money withdrawn from my bank not credited to Skype...

On July 5th 2013, THREE separate amounts of 25 pounds sterling were withdrawn from my Bank a/c on the automatic top-up system. None of them has been credited to my Skype account. Two of them should not have been withdrawn in the first place. I would like to receive refund on two payments and ensure that my account has been topped up with the other 25 pounds sterling.
I did not wish for automatic top-up of 29.50 pounds sterling ([removed for privacy]) for European calls until 2014, as I have not used this system for a year. Can this also be withdrawn, please?

Skype uninstalled automatically / Cannot redownloa...

I got on Skype yesterday and Skype was automatically updating itself. So I waited, but a little while after, Skype had problems updating. After that, I tried updating again by opening Skype on my desk top. Apparently, I noticed that it automatically uninstalled itself. It was weird, so I tried downloading Skype again. I was able to download the SkypeSetup, but while it was installing, a pop up showed up that says,"Object already exists." At the bottom, there's an "OK" button. I clicked on it and it showed me,"Installing Skype failed; code 1603 A fatal error occured during installation." Afterward, I deleted everything involving Skype. From Skype in the control panel and even folders. I tried redownloading again and the same thing showed up. I thought that Skype was having problems in general, so I tried logging on Skype on my cell phone. It worked on my phone, but doesn't work on my computer, Window 7. Know any way to solve this problem?

I've been charged today for a 3 month subscription which I'm extremely happy about because I'm pretty sure I didn't do it. Other questions: Why can I not have Live Chat.. only for "premium"users. So you can charge more, for correcting a fault!? XD I call this steeling.
I also love your method, of users having to learn your system to resolve fault. As if I don't have enought to do.

Balance Not Coming At Assignment GRE Period to date

Hi All,
I have a balance for which I am querying a value for ASGGRE_PTD dimension but I am getting the zero value but for the same balance the ASGPTD value is coming.So I guess the balance is not accumulating for the GRE attached to the employee.
When I am changing the GRE for that employee that time ASG_GRE_PTD is coming for the same employee.Can you please let me know if I am missing any setup for the new GRE and because of that the balance is not coming.
I have pasted the function below.I am setting up the contexts for tax_unit_id and juridiction code before.

You do not need to have your profile complete in order to use Skype. For that matter, I would recommend a review of what you have already added seeing as several settings are set by Skype to be viewable to the general public by default.

Lenovo y40-80 Temperature

Hey everyone, I bought a new y40-80 laptop about a month ago. So far I'm pretty happy with it, but I do have a few questions regarding concerns about overheating. I've been doing some gaming with it (namely Skyrim) and noticed that the fan gets very loud whenever running on the AMD Radeon GPU. The keyboard and chassis also get very hot after about an hour (on the left side, where I presume the GPU is). The fan is also loud in general, even when opening things like Skype and Chrome for the first time, though it will usually quiet down if I'm only doing light web-browsing. I used CPUID'S HW Monitor to check out some of the internal temperatures in the machine. With just a few programs open (basically idle), the CPU averages at about 39 C. While running Skyrim, I noticed it peaks up to 70 C, maybe even higher, though it's never exceeded 75 C as far as I can tell. I can't seem to get the HW Monitor to get a read on my GPU. In fact, every program I've tried so far doesn't seem to support reading the temp on the GPU - it'll either not show up at all, or it'll give me 511 C, which I know is impossible. I downloaded the GPU driver straight from the Radeon website, and I'm fairly confident it's up-to-date, so I'm not sure what I can do to be able to get an accurate read on the GPU temp. Is any of this cause for concern, or is the y40-80 made to endure these temperatures? Thanks.

If you are still worried about your CPU temps (there is no reason really), you can do the following to stop the temp rising too much.
1) Go to Control Panel > Power Options
2) Click on Change Plan settings for the current active plan.
3) Click on Change Advanced Power settings.
4) Under 'Processor Power management > Maximum Processor State', set the 'Plugged In' value to 99%
This will stop the CPU turbo boost, should not affect gaming and give lower temps (ONLY in games where turbo boost kicks in and raises the temps to dangerous levels).
I did the above process yesterday and my max CPU temp reached 70 celsius, down from about 79 max.
