General problems with Traffic info

I purchased a 1 year license for trafic info Benelux + on nokia maps
Each time traffic reports a congestion it interprets it as a problem in BOTH directions.
Yesterday I was advised to take another route because of a 11 Km traffic jam which was on the other side of the road.
Anyone experienced this as well?

Hans Goris

• Problem with Creating Info Record

Hello Gurus,

Purchase Organization Data screen but i'm getting error
Make an entry in all required fields
but there is Mandatory Textbox ie "VALID TO" which im unable to select Bcos its Disabled
pls help me regarding this
thanks in advance

Hi
Have u given the net price. VALID TO is the date until which the price shown in the info record is valid.
If there is no price that is valid on the current date, the last-valid price is displayed and the date field contains the day before the start of the next validity period (this may be 12.31.9999 if there is no further validity date). If all validit periods lie beyond the current date, the price of the next period is displayed. The date field then contains the end date of this period.
These validity periods we will maintain Purchse data CONDITIONS while creating info record. Check the validity period for the conditions.
Hope this will helps u

• What is the general problem with this OriginLab VI?

I'd like to use some VIs provided by OriginLab for their graphing and analysis software. They apparently haven't updated their VIs since Labview version 8.5 The attached screenshot is an example of the general problem I'm seeing in their VIs. If I hover over the property nodes, the Labview context help gives the error "This property is not valid for this class." It looks to me like these are Origin classes and Origin properties, so I'm surprised by that error.
Any idea about the reason for this problem? I'd like to explain it to them in a little more detail and try to motivate them to fix it. Still, I doubt it will happen soon. Any suggestions about whether it's something I could fix myself?
Thanks!

The activeX interface might be inside a *.ocx, *.dll and even a *.exe file. So manually browsing and trying files with these endings might work. You could even try a text search with a hex editor to identify possible ActiveX components, you should find the keywords IDispatch and IUnknown in them.
The proper way would be when they show up in the list. This actually is derived from some registry keys (I think it was a bit cryptic to track in the registry, as it involved searching for CLSID or the like). Proper registration is done by command line regsrv32 (if memory serves right). Normally this is automatically called from the installer.
So it might be the best you just try to reinstall Origin.
Also search the Origin folder if there are some other examples included there (and if they work).

• General Problems with iMac 9,1 's

There seems to be a disturbing trend as of the last two OS releases, Mavericks and Yosemite, and it involves a lot of iMac 9.1's. You see a lot of reports of sudden shutdowns, kernel panics, graphics issues, Safari crashes, Messages woes...and the list goes on. I have an early 2009 iMac 9,1 with 8GB RAM and an nVidia 130gt 512 Mb. With the release of Mavericks 10.9.4, I started getting the Sudden Shutdown Syndrome (machine powers down with no warning, like the power cord was pulled). After doing the required switching of power cables, using different RAM, switching of UPS's, opening the computer to clean it, etc..., I thought it might be a problem with either the power supply unit, the graphics card, or the logic board. Unfortunately, I'm overseas in a country that doesn't have an Apple Store so an easy repair option isn't available to me.
Pressing forward, I noticed that I didn't get any crashes or shutdowns in Safe Mode. Granted, only subset of the extensions are loaded, but if it was a flaky PSU or logic board, it would seem that it would show something at some point. And, the thing about graphics cards is that when they go bad, they start to leave artifacts and pixilate, and that wasn't happening in full boot or safe mode. I also noticed that in full boot mode, I could repeat certain actions that would cause a shutdown 100% of the time. I have also read reports where people had the logic board, graphics, and/or PSU changed out, the problem went away for a bit, then came back!
I'm now thinking that this is a software conflict that specifically affects iMac 9,1's and Macs of similar architectures. I'm fairly convinced of this because when I entered the Yosemite Public Beta Program (I was desperate to get a fix), I noticed that with each release, certain actions that would cause 100% failure/shutdown were gone, while others remained. When I installed Public Beta 5, and did a cache cleanup...MY SHUTDOWN PROBLEM WAS GONE! All the actions that used to crash the machine didn't work anymore. If it was a hardware problem, it would seem like the shutdown problem would still be present.
But, alas, mine is still a tale of woe. When I installed Public Beta 6, THE SHUTDOWNS RETURNED! When I looked at the release notes, it mentioned unspecified driver changes. Hmmmmmmm. Unfortunately, Public Beta 6 was the GM so when I downloaded the Yosemite Final Release, nothing changed...same old crashes.
So, what do I think is happening? I'd bet my bottom dollar that the problem lies in the interaction between the GeForceTesla driver, the kexts which control the power management of the graphics cards, and the system/user cache files. I think if Apple investigated those areas, a solution may be found. Also, I wish they would go back to Public Beta 5 and see why that release was so stable for iMac 9,1's (at least for mine anyway).
However, if anyone else has any insight to these problems, I'd love to hear it.
As a side note, Safari (along with my system) crashes frequently while Google Chrome Canary 64-bit is as solid as a rock. And, again, I experience no crashes in Safe Mode, even with using Safari.

I have an iMac9.1 24" and had no issues in Mavericks and have no issues at all in Yosemite. So it seems to rule out hardware-problems.

• General problems with iMac displays

Why is it about iMacs that has these pseudo "burn-in" issue with their displays?
Is this due to cheap component (LG panels)?
Or is this some scheme by Apple to make people pay?
Or both?
I am a proud mac (for that I have insulted enough PC and Linux sinners), but during the day I am forced to be a PC at work. But I have NEVER EVER seen any image persistence on any make/model of 3rd party LCD monitors before. My iMac is currently connected to a Samsung LCD monitor, and when my "dangle" a window (say Safari) between 2 monitors and leave both screens ON for 5 hours, my iMac monitor gets the "burn-in", but the Samsung doesn't.
Maybe 5 hours is a bit extreme, but I am starting to see faint "gridlines" showing up on my screen after I had my Excel open for more than 40 minutes.
What gives?

You are not alone with regards to this issue with the screen.

Apple does not seem to want to acknowledge that this is a problem and will probably tell you that the issues are "environmental" and do not see any problem with it.
I have a similar set up with a Samsung monitor connected and have not issue with the Samsung.

• General problems with iMovie '09

Hello,
I am a big fan of the programme iMovie, but have been encountering some serious problems with it recently. Any help would be much appreciated.
I originally had iMovie '08, which I was quite happy using, until one of the automatic updates left it unusable: when loading the programme, the spinning timer in the viewer screen would stay there indefinitely, and trying to play any clips in the viewer resulted in either a blank or a scrambled a screen.
I remedied this by reinstalling my entire iLife '08 and using the most basic version of iMovie - not acceoting any of the automatic upgrades - and it seemed to work fine.
However, I upgraded to the Leopard OS recently and had to upgrade iMovie accordingly so that Leopard would run. This left iMovie in a state where I could only import certain video files (mostly .mov, I believe).
So I went and bought iLife '09, thinking that any problems would be sorted out on the updated iMovie. They are not - I am still only able to import .mov files, so I bought myself a file converter and have spent the last week converting all the movie files I want to work with into .mov - a very long-winded process.
Now I'm finding that, although I can import these .mov files fine, once I drag them to the project editor, they stall and crash, and I can't edit them at all.
Does this sound like a simple problem to solve? I do love using iMovie, but these recent problems have meant that I have wasted a lot of time and money trying to sort something out that doesn't ever seem to work.
As I said, I would be extreme,ly grateful for any help, because this is causing me an enormous amount of frustration, lost time and wasted money.
Thank you!

Hello,
Thank you very much for getting back to me. I have to confess a certain amount of ignorance to some of these types of things! I'll just quickly explain what my situation is now and if you can help me out I would be very grateful (and happy).
Basically, most of the files I want to import into iMovie are .avi. When I look at the Inspector, they are listed as either "DivX 5.0" or "Generic MPEG-4". I have a lot of files, so there may be some other formats, but when importing clips to iMovie, the icons for the "DivX 5.0" files appear faded and cannot be selected (wrong codec) and the icons for the "Generic MPEG-4" files appear dark and can be selected (compatible codec). However, if I try to import any of the "Generic MPEG-4" ones, the time bar that says "optimizing video" appears for less than a second, disappears and then the spinning timer icon appears for a second before disappearing, without the clip having been imported.
What I did therefore was to use a converter to convert my files into .mov. Now my problem is that when I import clips, they do import and appear in the Event Library, but when I transfer them across to the editor, and spool through the clip with my mouse cursor, the screen remains blank... in fact sometimes the screen disappears completely, leaving just a grey background. This seems to be my main problem now, since importing videos is now possible.
Do you have any suggestions for what is causing the clips to be uneditable?
Do you have any suggestion for how I can simply change the codec of my original clips so that they can be imported successfully?
Thank you again for your help. I hope I explained the problems I"m experiencing well enough to understand - I'm not very literate with the more technical aspects of file formats and so on.
Thanks!
Ed

• General problems with Nokia E72-1

Hey there,
I've got a couple of problems with my Nokia E72.
1 - GPS via Ovi Maps. I have to wait like 10-20 minutes even although I use aGPS to get a fix (to get the GPS signal)... And even tho I've got polish lector voice in the navigation installed it doesnt work. There are only two communicates working: "Now get off the roundabout" or "You will reach the destination". Why? I checked twice, I've got properly installed and choosen polish voice and polish maps.
2 - Random phone freeze. My phone freezes randomly. From time to time when I check the mobile, I notice its frozen. I can't perform any action, except getting battery out...
3 - Random message sounds getting disabled. It happened 5 minutes ago, it's the first time it happened. I get SMS, the screen is lighting and lighting all the time, until I read it. I checked the profile twice, I even setted the sound again, but it still doesn't work. I had to get battery out and reset the phone to make it work again.
Why are those problems? What should I do with it?

1 - GPS: Other people have complained about this, too, and there may not be a simple answer. For me, I have been more careful where I hold my E73 (so as to not block the internal antenna) and the problem seems much less common.
1 - Polish Voice Navigation: Where are your map and voice files stored? Look in \cities\diskcache\voices for a "polish_f" directory and the contents should look like this

If you are missing files, try deleting the entire contents of "voices" and downloading the navigation files again. Even if all files appear present, you might try this anyway. (Note: I don't think there is another way to refresh the voice files, but I haven't actually tried this myself.)
2. This is a hard question to answer, as a freeze could be caused by anything. But what is your phone doing when not in active use? Downloading email? Downloading podcasts? Do you keep an IM or a Facebook program running? My first guess is that one of these programs is causing the crash. Try shutting things off, or factory reset the phone and install/setup each of these programs, one at a time, and install the next one only after a day or two has passed with no crashes.
3. Other people have complained about this, too. I don't currently have this problem, but please see this thread: /t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/E72-No-tone-vibration-upon-receiving-SMS/td-p/660837/highlight/true .
I hope that helps!

• WRT54G General problems with this model

Has anyone else seem to find that WRT5G4 Routers always seem to be having problems? Im having a problem ( I think I fixed it though thanks you to guys) My friend always has a problem with it not dialing though his PPP0e. And both my neighbours have a problem with it droping the signal. Or maybe I have had bad luck with them.

i have had problems with this one too. it keeps dropping my signal. i have v.8 i was told to upgrade my firmware but it is a .bin file and i am not sure how to access the file. anyone have any ideas?

• Problem with traffic over Remote Access VPN (Cisco ASA5505)

Hi
I've changed the VPN IP pool on a previously functioning VPN setup on a Cisco ASA5505, I've updated IP addresses everywhere it seemed appropriate, but now the VPN is no longer working. I am testing with a Cisco IPSec client, but the same happens with the AnyConnect client. Clients connect, but cannot access resources on the LAN. Split tunneling also doesn't work, internet is not accessible once VPN is connected.
I found a NAT exempt rule to not be correctly specified, but after fixing this, the problem still persists.

I've checked all the debug logs I could think of and tried various troubleshooting steps. Any ideas?

Hi
The bulk of the devices are not even routing through the ASA, internal devices such as IP phones, printers, etc. There is also large wastage of IP addresses which needs to be sorted out at some stage.
Outside IP address is 196.215.40.160. The DSL modem is configured as an LLC bridge.
Here are the debug logs when connecting if this helps at all. Nothing is logged when a connection is attempted though.
Regards
Lionel
