General question: Apple support by e-mail

Is there no chance to contact Apple for support by e-mail? Crawling through the support pages, I only found a support telephone number which is not available after 7.45pm. For iTunes, they give e-mail support. For the iPod touch they don't, as it seems.

Sorry but no, Apple does not provide product support by email. The only email support is for the iTunes Store. If you need technical support from Apple, you'll have to call them or visit an Apple Store, if there's one in your area (there are Apple Stores in Hamburg, Frankfurt, and München).

Mainly because these forums are for users to assist other users with technical questions about specific products.
Perhaps if you provide details about your problem, someone here can help. I'd suggest starting a new topic, as the subject of this one is not likely to attract the attention of someone who might be able help you.

That's a left arrow, the characters "br", a slash, then a right arrow. This started happening to me on Saturday. My Friday stuff is fine, but starting with Saturday it's cluttered with < br / > every place there should be a line break...

Yes, this problem has been brought up by some of the Oracle Aces. It has been a known problem since last week. Check out the thread below and if you wish, you can add your comments as well.

Which is the official apple support e-mail since I can't find it in the apple site.

Apple Support for e-mail or rather Mail Feedback,
Open up your email or rather as Apple would prefer Mail. Macke sure that you mail window is active. This you can see by looking at the top left of your screen, just to the right of the apple icon. If it's active the word Mail is bold. right click on Mail and the drop down menu will appear and the fourth item down in the list is Provide Mail Feedback... click on that and then double click on the Continue box on the lower right of the pop up and you will be directed to a Web page for submitting your feed back question or comment.
If that is what you were really looking for.

I'm not sure what you mean by the 'apple support contact wont open' (?). If you mean the 'contact iTunes Store support' link on the page that you posted from I've just tried it and it seems to wok ok for me, though I haven't gone as far as to actually contact them.
You can contact either iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset you can then use the steps on the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use, or if it's available in your country you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

Two questions, why will Apple support not recognise a uk telephone number and why will the diagnostics button on an e-mail work! It is driving me crazy trying to get through to Apple support!!!!

I am soooooooooooo confused now. Ok, if you are having problems with Yahoo Mail and Gmail but you do not use Apple's Mail you need to do the following:
1 - Post in Yahoo's Mail forums and/or contact their tech support.
2 - Post in Gmails forums and/or contact their tech support.
Neither of the above are Apple's products.
