General Recommended Procedures for Restarts in BI Apps ETL process

I have two question...
What are recommended procedures to follow if informatica abends occur in the ETL batch? For example, increasing the error count or copying the program to another folder and executing, then marking the step complete in DAC?
I had the error count increased and was going to restart the step. DAC documentation states to then update the status of the task to queued and restart the etl flow. Unfortunately, for some reason the etl flow won't start. Prior times I had just left as failed and restarted however this time I figured I would follow the documentation. so then I went in and marked the flow complete..now when I try to starta new one..nothing happens. has anyone seen this before?

in the past when restarting...due to a timeout error..we would always just go to current run and select start and it would restart...however the documentation for DAC says to update the status to queue (from failed) prior to restarting...so I did that. For some reason...with the status as queued..the flow would not execute....so based on documentation for failed run it says you can mark it as complete which is what we did...however that causes the last step to not execute..we were only 3 tasks from completion when this occured and I checked the PLP_ARsnapshot sessions and feel comfortable that we can not run those. If the end date of the last completed becomes the start date of the next run..then if I run the last session in the execution plan which marks complete, then our next run should grab the correct dates. I would NEVER take this approach if I new we were not 3 tasks from the bottom. However if we restart from the day we just got near completed..i would think I would have bigger issues.

The procedures for restarting Mountain Lions downlown do not seem to apply in my ssituation. Before today's impass I had failed twice to download then was able to start all over again from the beginning. The system knew that I had purchased the program and allowed me to start again. Both times i lost the data (6-8 hrs per attempt) in the downloads. But that's not the problem that I am faced with now. The techniques provided to restare don't work. I can't initiate the program's download through "purchasing". The message "an error has occurred" is persistent. It don't disappear. I reboot, reenter the Apps Store. There it is again. The "pause/download" button is dead, Has anyone had a similar experience? I wish Apple would supply a disk for this program.

Looking for FREE info on app submission process

Hello,
I am looking for information on the app submission process to assess the feasability. I am at a very, very early stage at this point and would like to get details on the technical requirements, any finacial requirements, and an approximate timeline for an iOS app submission.
I have poked around on these forums and found some info, but most of it seems to be locked behind the paywall. As I stated before, at this time I am not looking to pay the $99 to sign up as a developer without getting some of the very basic background information. Does anyone know of any handbooks or publications with the details that are available for free? Am I just looking in the wrong place?

Recommended procedure for SOLMAN_SETUP when CUA is Active

We have upgraded to Ehp1/SP20 in Solution Manager. As recommended, we want to use the guided procedure SOLMAN_SETUP to automatically generate the roles and userids required in the managed systems. DEV/BWD/PID etc. We use CUA and it is active in the managed systems so the Userids, Roles, Profiles etc are not in the managed system nor are they in the CUA parent client.
What is the recommended approach/Best Practice to configure Solution Manager with CUA active?

Answering my own question so it might help others.
As I understand it to get the .folio to the Apple store I then have to use the Viewer Builder application to make it into an app and submit to Apple, but this is only available if I sign up for a Professional account at a huge cost!

General design help for a basic web app with DB

I'm fairly new to Java EE development (lots of years of Java SE experience). In the not-so-distant future I'm going to be tasked with writing a web access feature for a database-backed catalog-like application. The application helps biologist keep track of all the dead animals they have in their research collections. It is meant to be a full-featured desktop application with the ability to setup a web portal to allow other researchers to search the contents of a collection (to see if there are specimens that they would like to see or borrow, etc). So, I have to write a bunch of servlets, JSPs, JSF pages, or something like that to provide a search page and a number of results views including tables, forms, maps, etc. Our desktop app uses Hibernate for ORM.
From what I've seen of the framework, I would really like to use JSF to do the views and navigation. Can I use JSF with Hibernate persistence? My Hibernate mappings are in *.hbm.xml files. How can I meld these technologies together. Better yet, can this be done using the Visual Web Developer pack for Netbeans 5.5?

It sounds to me like a very simply web app and you
are going way overboard. You don't need much code,
much less a bunch of extra frameworks, API's, etc.
I'd make a few servlets/jsp's and avoid getting into
JSF, hibernate, etc. unless you know they are worth
your time.I'm planning on using Hibernate because all of the Hibernate data classes and bindings are already setup. I guess in the initial version that doesn't do anything but view the data, I could avoid Hibernate since I don't need any ability to detect user changes to objects and commit those back to the DB.
I'd really like to write the web app using the Java EE 5 persistance API (JPA) and not have any Hibernate-specific code in the mix.
One requirement I forgot to mention was the need for a login page that can allow for access above the standard, anonymous guest level. Some information that these guys collect, such as where they located a rare plant variety, is highly sensative (since pharma companies have been known to want this information). For that reason, some of the info is not made available to anonymous web access users. Users with a registered account can get at more info.

What is the recommended procedure for upgrading the OS?

I'm a creative cloud subscriber and am about to perform an upgrade from Win 7 to Win 8. Has this scenario been tested? Should I deactivate and/or uninstall my Adobe products before the upgrade, and then reinstall after? Will this be considered a 'new' computer, and cost me another install?
Let me know if there is any documentation available for 'best-practices' when upgrading an OS with Adobe products installed.

What you want, I think this is unrealistic,
If you two G/L account will debit, then two G/L account must be credit...
In OBYA, this is just for cross company code, to post the amount to G/L for company code clearing account..
This is not possible to enter third G/L account to this company code clearing for inter company process.

I have Windows Server 2008 Enterprise and have
2 Domain Controllers in my Company:
Primary Domain Controller (PDC)
Additional Domain Controller (ADC)
My (PDC) was down due to Hardware failure, but somehow I got a chance to get it up and transferred
(5) FSMO Roles from (PDC) to (ADC).
Now my (PDC) is rectified and UP with same configurations and settings. (I did not install new OS or Domain Controller in existing PDC Server).
Finally I want it to move back the (FSMO Roles) from
(ADC) to (PDC) to get UP and operational my (PDC) as Primary.
(Before Disaster my PDC had 5 FSMO Roles).
Here I want to know the best practice and Microsoft best recommended procedure for the placement of “FSMO Roles both on (PDC) and (ADC)” ?
In case if Primary (DC) fails then automatically other Additional (DC) should take care without any problem in live environment.
Example like (FSMO Roles Distribution between both Servers) should be……. ???

For me, I do not really see a need to have FSMO roles on multiple servers in your case. I would recommend making it simple and have a single DC holding all the FSMO roles.

No. This is not true. Each FSMO role is unique and if a DC fails, FSMO roles will not be automatically transferred.
There is two approaches that can be followed when an FSMO roles holder is down:
If the DC can be recovered quickly then I would recommend taking no action
If the DC will be down for a long time or cannot be recovered then I would recommend that you size FSMO roles and do a metadata cleanup
Attention! For (2) the old FSMO holder should never be up and online again if the FSMO roles were sized. Otherwise, your AD may be facing huge impacts and side effects.

Force close message - application App Shop (process com.mobihand.skylight) has stopped unexpectedly

Just started to get the fore close message "application App Shop (process com.mobihand.skylight) has stopped unexpectedly. I even did a factory reset and still it is showing up. Funny that Lenovos own App Store is causing the force close message. Frustrating....have had the K1 for 3 weeks with no problems and now this everytime i turn on the tablet i get the above message twice.

I just bought the K1 two weeks ago. Soon after I received a system update, it said there was an App Store update available and, from then on, I received the error and force close message described above. I just uninstalled the app and that solved the problem. Are you suggesting that the app store app is what updates all of the apps I have loaded? I just thought it was a marketing feature and thought it unnecessary since I could get to the app store another way by going to Apps and Shop. Could someone clarify its purpose, please? Thanks!

This is covered in the documentation pretty well I believe; however, here's the outline I followed...
- Copy FDM databases to v11 database server. (I renamed mine to follow my v11 naming scheme, but ...)
- Copy FDMApps folders over (i.e. Inbox files, scripts, etc)
- Add the applications to the new FDM. (i.e. from the login screen, pick Add Application
- Run Schema Update tool on your FDM applications
- Run User Migration Tool on your FDM applications
- Extract Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialDataQuality\SharedComponents\DBSetup.zip to /Data/Scripts/Custom folder for each FDM App
- Update Machine Profiles (Workbench) (Repeat for each application)
- Add Adapter (Repeat for each application)
- Configure Adapter (Repeat for each application)
- Fix mappings*
In v9, you don't have to map dimensions you don't use. In v11 you do.... Instead of doing it that hard way and manually updating hundreds of maps, I used SQL to do it. In my environment ICP, UD3, UD1, and UD2 generally were not mapped. You would need to update this accordingly.

I have the 4S and downloaded a fax reader application that converts the TIFF file to JPEG, solution they recommend is to go to settings, app-general-location services but I don't see a way to do this on my phone, help!

If you are looking for this area, in the newer iOS, it is Settings>Privacy>Location Services. I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish here, so I cannot give you more information. Is it possible you are trying to give this program access to photos in your Camera Roll? Please provide a little more information.
