Generate a pdf page from OAF using XML publisher.

Has anybody come across a successful way to generate and display in browser a pdf page based on results passed from OAF page. Would like to know what are the steps involved and where the pdf templates and datasource files need to be stored.

Generate Multiple copies of same Invoice using XML Publisher

Hello All
I have a requirement wherein the existing XML report Output should print the same Invoice twice one orginal and one a Customer Copy.
i.e say Earlier the Invoice was INVOICE-ABC Customer and ran into 3 pages with Page 1 of 3, Page 2 of 3, Page 3 of 3.
Then now the requirement is to print same once more with a new Heading Invoice Copy- ABC Customer Page 1 of 3, Page 2 of 3 Page 3 of 3.
Has any one of you faced a similar requirment.
Suggestions/Inputs would help a lot.

create main concurrent and run INVOICE-ABC Customer and Invoice Copy- ABC Customer by
fnd_request.submit_requestso if you want to use one template and changing Heading for 'COPY' then you can add parameter for invoice concurrent for identify type (copy or not)
so in parameter not 'COPY' then Heading is 'INVOICE-ABC Customer' else 'Invoice Copy- ABC Customer'
if you can't change template then copy and change Heading and in main run two concurrents

Not getting Euro Symbol in PDF Report using XML Publisher

Hi,
We have developed an Oracle Report from Report Builder 6i and also a Template in RTF Format.
We are using XML Publisher to display our XML Output in PDF Format to Users..
There is a Field called Comments on Customer Transaction Form, where user can enter any characters and that we are querying in Report and displaying on the PDF Output.
Currently, the user entered a Euro Character on the comments section and that was not visible to user on PDF Report and replaced by a Question Mark as below:
"3% price reduction ?89.91, 20% marine"
When i am Querying to the Database, i am able to see the Euro Symbol, but when i checked the XML generated on the Unix Box for the Report. I found as below:
"3% price reduction \342\202\25489.91, 20% marine"
So, the Euro Symbol on the database is replaced by " \342\202\254" in the XML Output and ? in the PDF Outbut.
Please help ASAP.

How to call a jsp page from oaf and run in jDeveloper

I created sample jsp and then tried.

But now i need to call that page.

1. Hope you have placed the custom jsp page (which you have downloaded from server) under "jdevhome\jdev\myhtml\OA_HTML" directory ?
2. Try to run the custom jsp page from Jdeveloper directly and check whether its working properly or not ?
(i.e. add jsp page to any project in Jdeveloper then right click on jsp page and select Run xxx.jsp)
3. If page errors out then custom jsp page seems require few parameters to run it successfully. Pass all requied parameters and test.
4. There is no problem in the way you are calling jsp page from OAF page.

I tried to create a printable page in OAF using the following steps given in devguide of OAF
Step 1: Add a page-level button as described in the Buttons (Action/Navigation) document.
Step 2: Assuming your button label is the standard "Printable Page," apply the OA Framework attribute set /oracle/apps/fnd/attributesets/Buttons/PrintablePage.
Step 3: Set the button's Destination URI property to point to the current page and set the UIX facet parameter (OARF) to printable as shown in the following example (See Controlling UIX Rendering Output for additional information about facets). Remember to retain your application module.

Step 4: Set the button's Target Frame property to _blank to ensure that the printable page opens in a new window.
but after doing this i am getting below exception.

How to inclulde digital signature in PDF outputs using XML Publisher

I'm working on AR invoice print report which is a custom report. One of the requirements of this report is to include the digital signature in the output which is in PDF format.
We have below code components for this custom report.
Oracle Report (RDF) - to extract the invoice data
RTF template - for report layout
Bursting file - to split the output into individual PDFs
Is there any document available to implement the digital signaure in my case?
I'm looking for the steps to implement this in my custom report using XML Publisher.

If I am not mistaken, this would require using PDF templates and use of Adobe Acrobat Professional.. Maybe others can chime in with other/better options..

If you are in client/server mode, you can put an OLE container component on your form. However, be warned that this method does not work when you convert to the forms server web enabled mode. If you anticipate moving your application to the web anytime soon, my advice would be to web-enable first and then add in the feature to view .pdf (or other) files. In our client/server app, I went to a lot of trouble to add in OLE features such as you describe, and now I have to completely re-write those features for the web.

Printing Arabic text in Oracle Application(R12i) using XML Publisher.

Hi,
I am using Oracle Application R12i version with Oracle database as 10g, base language as English and installed language as Arabic.
I am trying to print the data which is there in English/Arabic in Oracle Application(using XML Publisher).
I've created a rdf using Report Builder 10g and registered as concurrent program (XML as Output format). There after i executed the concurrent program and generated the XML file.
Based on the XML file, i created a rtf file using XML Desktop(in Ms word) and register the same rtf file in XML Publisher Administrator for creating the XML definition and Template and Output as PDF.
After creating a XML template, when i executed the Concurrent program, english text is shown in english but arabic text is shown some ascii characters like Question Mark(up side down).
Could anyone please let us know the steps for doing the same or plz let us know are we missing any step.

Unable to view image if the size is more than 3KB using XML Publisher.

We are printing PO approver signature using xml publisher (rtf) on a pdf.
If the size of the image is 3KB or less, the image gets printed.
But, if the size is more than 3KB the image does not get printed.
Additional Info:
1. The signature is stored as jpg image in fnd_lobs table.
2. On following code is mentioned in the rtf

I had a similar error which when I searched, came up with this thread.
My issue was resolved after I discovered that my RTF template was not really RTF. It was sill in MS Word DOC format. This was discovered by reviewing two templates in NOTEPAD. The MS-DOC files have a lot of "special" characters in them. My RTF was not really RTF.
After doing a SAVE AS - RTF format, then the preview worked as expected.
