Generated authorizations on 0ORGUNIT - Time-dep.hier.struct&Temp.hier. join

Hello gurus,
We use generated hierarchy authorization for 0ORGUNIT with Time dependent heirarchy structure & Temporal hierarchy join.
Authorization objects (RSR_*) seems to generate well, however they don't work - query ends with EYE 007 message.
If I make a copy of generated authorization object and split it into two objects - one with very the same 0ORGUNIT limitation and the rest of original auth. object, it suddenly works!
So I don't know what's wrong whether the generation of authorization or evaluation process.
We use EHP1 with 05 support package.

Dear all,
With our customer we have an reporting presentation issue that we cannot solve. Can you please help us with a solution?
It is a hierachy display problem in a report.
We present a time dependent hierarchy structure with a temporal join. This is to have the postings in the correct periods of the hierarchy. A characteristic of this hierarchy is the validity period. This validity period is default displayed in the report. This cannot be suppressed in the query designer. Is there a way to suppress this? This is a wish form the customer.
Can you please help us with a sloution?

i know how to create a hierarchy in the flat file.also i know the time dept hierarchy. how to create a entire time dep hierarchy . give me some flat file with scenario.

answers to your questions:
Answer 1) If Hier istime dependant, then it is compulsory to have the dateto and date-frm fields in FF as those two fields decide from which time to which time, which data should be used.
Answer 2) all the changes, it is always suggested to do first in Dev, test the same and once all OK, then transport in Prod.
Is the FF is on application server?

BI 7.0 : Error in loading text of a Master Data with a data source time dep

I have a problem loading text from the data source(time dep) to the Master Data.
For instance if the Data Source 0EVALGROUP1_TEXT is time dependent as there are the fields DATETO and DATEFROM, while i create the transformation these 2 fileds does not have any target fields. After i create the infopackage and execute it to load into the PSA, i have a error message : the message says "An error occurred in the source system."and "The error occurred in Extractor "; and the PSA is empty.
Can anyone tell me if there is an OSS note to apply for this kind of problem, actually we are running under SAPKW70015 SAP_BW.

The l_dta data target that you want to load is an InfoObject (master data or text
table).
You must declare this for the InfoProvider in Transaction RSD1.
You do this on the 'Master Data/Text' tab by assigning any InfoArea to the InfoObject.
The InfoProvider (that is, this InfoObject) is then displayed below this InfoArea in
the InfoProvider tree.

Problem with Time-dep hierarchy in BEx Query

Hi,
I have a workbook that consists of 3 queries. All the 3 queries uses heriarchy and hierarchy node variables on 0CUST_SALES. The hierarchy is time-dep. 2 of the queries returns the output and 1 of them just displays "No applicable data found" for some of the nodes. I checked the hierarchy table and the date range for the nodes are in the range (01/01/2010 - 12/31/9999), the leafs have the range as 01/01/2010 - 06/30/2010. The 3rd query is the actually the summary of the other 2 queries. I checked the queries and found that the field 0CUST_SALES is on the characteristic restriction pane of the filter tab in the incorrect query and in the remainiing 2 its on the default values pane.
Will this be causing the problem in the incorrect query?
There is also a key date derivation type defined in all the queries. Its defined as Basic Time Char with the derivation type as "First day of Period". We are not using any infosets. The quries are on a multiprovider which has only basic infocubes.
Can someone please explain how this works?

I don't think its possible to write a query from within SAP that allows you to get data from another SAP database.
I have used SQL Reporting Services to report on data from multiple databases, and this works very well for many of my clients. It depends on what you want to do with the data, do you need to display it on the screen in SAP and it to a field or will a report suffice?

i keep gettin duplicate records based on validity periods
eg i give validity from 2004 to 2007 i get one more record from
2008 to 9999 (ofcourse without any attribute value),
How to get rid of them , if i delete one the whole record
disappears,

I don't directly close the doc. I only play, e.g. here : Cmd-F7 (OSX).
Process: the doc. is saved [1] ; export to pdf [2-3-4] ; the doc. is closed [5]

IDOC generated a very long time

Dear all,
what reason will cause that IDOC generated a very long time ?
My own thinking is this due to one instance's update processes are all running, 'update are all running' is due to 'high lock entries in SM12',
but I don't know how to check what caused 'high lock entries in SM12'.
When I confirm with user about the lock entries in SM12 that users reply they are running some reloated article in system but very slow, so I cannot delete the lock entries also cannot cancel the update process.
so who can tell me which reasons will cause large lock entries in SM12 ?
how to resolve it and avoid it happened again ?
how to find the root cause for large lock entries ?

Generating Indep Reqs rather than Dep Reqs from Planning Strategies

Is there any way when using a Strategy 50/52 to generate Indep Reqs rather than dep reqs for components.?
Can this be achieved by using strategy 70 at the component level ? - I am not sure this can be done. It seems to always give Dep Reqs ?
If so what are the settings ?

Am I correct that unless you plan at component level and use strategy 70 you cannot generate Indep Reqs they will always be Dep Reqs?
Just to be clear I am not after a MTS scenario here (i.e. 40 ) but rather a Sales Order driven demand so 50/52.
So Mat A FG would be a 50/52 and Component X would be set up ith a 70 - unfortunately this gives dep reqs not indep reqs?

I don't really know what this means. Independent requirements by their very nature are not generated by other requirements, they are Independent.
Independent requirements are mostly created as follows
1. Manually
2. Copy from other independent requirements
3. Copy from a Material Forecast
4. Copy from SOP
5. Copy from Flex Planning
You could create a Z program that would create them as well.

Time dep master data reorganization / process seems to do nothing

I created a process chain just to reorganize time dep master data for 1 InfoObject (0UCINSTALLA). In this process variant I choose only to process time dep attributes - not text or time independent tables.
The InfoObject is flagged for change run (have som entries in M version)
The InfoObject with the properties:
/BI0/QUCINSTALLA = 9 393 539 rec (4 162 in M version) (same goes for Y-table). Those tables have just a few (3-4) fields.
The InfoObject 0UCINSTALLA exists in a few aggregates, but none of the time dep attributes does.
The system have these components:

A little update:
I could see that the background process (which seemed to do nothing) ran a oracle process and on the DB server instance this was no.1 in top cpu. So - something is happening. The DB only has 2 cpus. Is there any way to run this job with more then 1 process?

Generating Authorization from ODS

Hi gurus,
I followed the white paper on generating authorization from ODS's, and found no place where you can specify which key figure should be authorized, although key figure is included in the authorization object.
Same is also true for the infoobject that is included in the authorization object. For example, if you are defining an object for hierarchy, in ds02 you can specify all about hierarchy. However, where do you specify ":" or other?
One can surely go and manually modify in the user authorization. However given the number of users this solution is intended, there is perhaps a better way to do it?

System is not generating a spool request for Dep.?

When I am running a test run with 'planned posting run' system is not giving me any error but when I am executing it in a "repeat run" system comes up with a message
"!! This processing can only be carried out as background processing !!
But when I go to (Jobs Overview screen) see the spool request system is not generating the spool request and Please help me out what's wrong is happening and what shall I do.
It is a new company code for the first time we are running the dep.

ITunes movie rental sync generates "authorize this computer" error message

Hello. I've rented Cabin Fever (HD version) via iTunes and am trying to sync it to my iPad 2. The sync process continues for some time but then cancels with a message saying something like "this device is not authorized to play this content. Please authorize the computer in settings ..." etc. But my computer *is* authorized. Clicking "authorize" simply generates a message saying "this computer is already authorized" and a number count of how many devices authorizations I still have left to use.
I've read in other searching that HD movies can't be synced, but that seems outrageous. Is that the issue? (I feel like I'm *certain* I've watched other rented movies in HD because why would I ever choose SD?)
What can I try to get this to work?

Generate authorization profile with RSSM

Hi,
I have a problem with the central User Management.
We have the Central User Management in a CRM-System.
1) In BW we generate an authorization profile with the transaction RSSM. Automatically the system assign the profile to an user.
2)When we additionally assign a BW-role from Central User Management (CRM-System) to the same user, the authorization profile which is generated in BW (Transaction RSSM) is deleted.
Unfortunately we can not forego to the functionalty in rssm.

I have twist and turn this problem and I see no way around it. It seems like it going to be a lot of configuration in ACS but it is only for one time. It better to do that job with the installation rather than troubleshoot every time the PC administrators type the wrong vlan name.
As Bastien wrote in his answer:
"so basically create an internal group, add user to this group, and create an access-policy that match this group and apply an authorization profile with the vlan you want"
