Generated ear file has no file name
Hi experts,
I need to deploy the changes made to an existing webdynpro project but upon generation of the ear file to be deployed, the generated ear file has no file name. The created file is .ear whereas the previous generated ear files have filenames. Example is test.ear. I generated the ear file from the webdynpro explorer, then right click on my project and click on Create archive option.
Please advise if there are any settings or configurations to be done in NWDS so that the generated ear file will have a filename.
Thanks,
Eric

File name field not generating dynamic file name for report printing
Hello Folks,
I have a report region on a page and have enabled report printing. I would like to have the file name generated dynamically. So, I add the substitution string, say "&P1_CUSTOMER_NAME." (no quotes). The output file I get is literally named "&P1_CUSTOMER_NAME..pdf" (no quotes).
I have seen several posts suggesting the file name field should accept this syntax but, I cannot get it to work.
We are running Application Express 3.2.0.00.27 and BI Publisher.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help.
-Markus B.I was finally able to make it work using a page process and the APEX_UTIL.DOWNLOAD_PRINT_DOCUMENT with a submit button.

Please guide me how to generate in specific folder.

Best Regards,
Velu.First, LabVIEW 7 allows you to pass string and path data types directly into the Matlab script node. Otherwise, in LV <= 6.1 you can do the following:
In LabVIEW, convert the string to an array of U8s using the String to Byte Array function. Then pass the U8 array into the Matlab script node as a Real Vector type. Finally, in Matlab, convert the Real Vector to a string using the char() function. For example:
stringAsString = char(stringAsRealVector)
Attached is an image that shows how to do this.
Good luck,
-Jim

Generated EAR file for Hcm Compensation
We have Hcm Compensation JDeveloper environment. I tried to create EAR file. I cannot see EAR choice. I tried to create deployment profile. I can see EAR file is disabled.
How to create EAR file?
Thanks
Gang CaiWe tried to customize Hcm Compensation. We got EarHcmCompensation.ear from Unix and ported to local JDeveloper and weblogic.
I right-clicked on my application -> deploy. I cannot see EAR option.
I created another testing HRApplication(Not Hcm Compensation). I right-clicked on my application -> deploy. I can see EAR option.

How to deploy ear file with jar file and war file with different names
Hi,
As part of weblogic migration from WL 6.1 sp3 to WL 10, Iam facing some problem.
Problem:
I have one ear file(abc.ear) to deploy which contains one jar file(xyz.jar) and one war file(pqr.war).
In config.xml file of WL 6.1, it was mentioned as :
<Application Deployed="true" Name="abc" Path="./config/mydomain/applications/abc.ear">
<EJBComponent Name="xyz" Targets="myserver" URI="xyz.jar"/>
<WebAppComponent Name="pqr" Targets="myserver" URI="pqr.war"/>
</Application>.
The above is working fine.
But in config.xml file WL10,I cannot mention the same.
I need to have different application anmes for ear,jar and war.If I deploy as a ear file,the jar and war files are deployed with the same ear file name.
I tried the following options:
1) Deploying as a ear file by adding <sub-deployments>
2) Deploying both war and jar seperately which is not recommended in my application.
Please provide the content I should place in the config.xml so that everything works fine correctly.

How to retain input file name in b2b
Hi,
I have requirement in the project where I need to flollow below steps
1) pick up file -> transform into binary format -> push into JMS queue
2) b2b channel listen to JMS queue -> transforms into text format -> creates .text file format.
Every thing is working as expected however the issue is b2b is able to generate the file name is didn't match with the input file name though I have mentioned preserve file name option in b2b target channel.
How can b2b generate/retain the file name which is same as picked up input file name by FTP adapter.
Regards,
AnjanaHi,
Thanks. this issue has been resolved. If we set below proprties in bpel, b2b can retain same input file name.
<copy>
<from>concat("contentType:application/octet-stream;filename:",$varFileName )</from>
<to>$varActionName</to>
</copy>
<bpelx:toProperty name="jca.jms.JMSProperty.ACTION_NAME"
variable="varActionName"/>

Pick a particular file and keep on target side with the same file name
Hi Guys,
I have got couple of files in a folder. I need to pick only two files, I have setup BPM procedure 2 payloads merge. To keep these merged file with the same source filename.
Source side file Directory
abc_12345_20100408101029.xml (abc_seq number_timestamp.xml)
xxx12345.xml
test.xml
abc_12345_20100408101149.xml
Target Side, How do I keep with the same file name?
abc_12345_20100408111239.xml --- same file name with diffrent timestamp.
One more question: How to setup a file adapter to trigger between 2:00am to 5:00 am? in a particular time
Does anybody has got quick idea, any links etc.,
Your quick and positive response will be much appreciates.
Kind Regards
SanHi,
One more question: How to setup a file adapter to trigger between 2:00am to 5:00 am? in a particular time
For this you can Availability time planning (i.e you can schedule the file adapter to poll for the files with in the time interval i.e 2 -5)...
for generating the file name at target side you need to look for the Dynamic Configuration as you need to change the timestamp for the file..and i am not sure how this works in BPM..
in normal scenarios dynamic configuration will help....

Deployment and .ear files
I have two questions; one may relate to the other.
First, I would like to know the best way to deploy Session beans which have dependencies on other EJBs, be they Entity Beans or other Session Beans. The dependency is limited to the implementation class, not the interfaces. I have tried just putting all my EJBs in the classpath in startWebLogic.sh, but I get the "bean cannot be redeployed while the server is running" warning. Is there another way?
Second, I have read of .ear files, which seem to be a good way of dealing with many EJBs/JSPs en masse(I'm working with ~100 EJBs and ~2000 JSPs). However, I haven't found anything on exactly what they are, how to use them, or how to generate them.
If anyone has these answers, or can point me to a good site on the matter, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks, --Tom SeufertHi Tom,
The "best" way to generate EAR files is to use an IDE that has built-in
tools to do it -OR- to use ANT (kind of an xml-based gnu-make-like utility
for Java).
Most dev groups that I've seen start by using .sh/.cmd (i.e. batch) files to
generate the JAR/WAR/EAR files. ANT allows you to do things like
dependency-based builds, to avoid re-generating parts that are not
necessary. That was very handy with WL 5.1 when EJBC could take several
minutes (even running locally with a fast compiler like JIKES). (I have
only used ANT a tiny bit, but Jesse Tilly who frequents this newsgroup is an
expert with it.)
The EAR is just a means to bundle different parts of your application
together. For example, your EJBs will be bundled into a JAR, and your JSPs
will be bundled into a WAR, and you can put both into an EAR. WL6.0 will
accept an EAR file for deployment, will auto-deploy, and will even re-deploy
it if the EAR changes!
The easiest way to build a JAR or WAR or EAR file within a batch or build
file is to use the JAR command. If you have a directory structure that is
exactly how the JAR file will be layed out, then I believe the command is
"jar -cfm0 my.jar *" or "jar -cfm0 my.jar .".

Large file/name transfers between macs & win 2003 server
When trying to move a file between a mac power g4 running os x 10.4.6 and windows server 2003, if the file name is greater than 31 characters an error msg is generated:
"The file name is too long or contains characters that cannot be displayed."
The copying process stops.
Is there a process/change allowing copy/transfer of files with names longer than 31 characters?Hi Chris!
"File Services for Macintosh" on Windows Server has not been updated in years. It's still using the old AFP 2.2 protocol, which has the limit of 31 characters. Mac OS X 10.4 is using AFP 3.2, I believe.
I have little hope that Microsoft will ever upgrade these services since they haven't done so in the past six or seven years since Mac OS X has been around. You'll either need to use a better AFP server such as Group Logic's ExtremeZ-IP or use SMB to connect to the server's file services for Windows. I suggest you not use Apple's built-in SMB client but instead use either Dave or ADmitMac from Thursby.
Hope this helps! bill

Can anyone please reply to my Query ?
We have to generate the *.TXT file as an output of Open Hub Destination.
For this the File Naming convention should be Yesterday's date + .TXT. ( for example if today's date is 27.07.2011 then the file name should be 20110726.TXT).
Here I could generate the file name using <YYYY><MM><DD> for today's only ( 20110727.TXT). But We need to generate the Yesterday's date here..
I tried to create the Function module ( FILENAME_EXIT_TEST) as suggested in F1 on that Physical Location input area. And I tried to give the Physical location as <F=FILENAME_EXIT_TEST>.TXT.
But I'm getting the error as " The Function Module doesnot exist" or "Function Module FILENAME_EXIT_TEST is unknown".
But I'm sure the FM is available and activated already.
Could you please let me know, How to fix this issue.
NOTE: I have created this Function Module with Export parameter as OUTPUT and DATS Associated type. In the Source code I have written as OUTPUT = SY-DATUM - 1.
Edited by: jayaprakash j on Jul 28, 2011 2:30 PMHi All,
I got the solution.
The code which i had written in the FM is wrong.
OUTPUT = SY-DATUM - 1. // Wrong.
The correct one is below :
DATA: Temp TYPE SY-DATUM.
Temp = SY-DATUM - 1.
OUTPUT = Temp.
And after that, in FM's Export tab, it should be Export parameter as OUTPUT and checked the "Pass value" check box.
For the Physical File : <F=TEST>.txt.
Here the FM which i created was FILENAME_EXIT_TEST.
When I am calling the corresponding Logical file in the APD, It is working fine.
Thanks for your inputs. -
Logical file name or logical path name incorrectly defined
Dear All,
We are doing archival in our IDES for test purpose before we do it to our Production.
Steps Performed
Copied AM_ASSET archive object to ZAM_ASSET
Logical Path
Logical path ZAM_ASSET
Name Asset
Syntax group UNIX Unix compatible
Physical path /archive/test/<FILENAME>
Logical File Name
Logical file ZAMASSET
Name Asset
Physical file FI_<MONTH>_<DAY>.txt
Data format ASC
Applicat.area AM
Logical path ZAM_ASSET
But when we run the WRITE though SARA , in the job log we get the following
Logical file name or logical path name incorrectly defined
When generating a file name for an archive file that is to be created, the system determined that the logical file name FIAA_ARCHIVE_DATA_FILE or the logical path name ARCHIVE_GLOBAL_PATH was defined incorrectly.
But we have maintained a Logical name ZAMASSET , so we are unable to change the location of archived file and as well as the format.
So is there any setting we need to maintain apart from the logical file name and logical file path.
Suggestions are highly appreciated.
Thanks in anticipationhi,
follow this steps :
- transaction SARA
- enter authorization objects, eg SD_VBAK
- hit button CUSTOMIZING
- Archiving Object-Specific Customizing: execute Technical Setting
- field Logical File Name enter or select ARCHIVE_DATA_FILE
- leave CONTENT REPOSITORY as blank if you are not using 3rd party for storing (eg. IBM Tivoli)
- back to customizing
- from Basis Customizing, execute : Cross-Client File Names/Paths
- on Logical FIle Path Definition, highlight (select) ARCHIVE_GLOBAL_PATH on the right pane
- double click on the Assignment of Physical Paths to Logical Path on the left pane
- double click on OS used, eg. UNIX, define Physical Path where archive file (on WRITE process) will be stored
- save changes made
- double click Logical File Definition, Cross Client on the left pane
- double click ARCHIVE_DATA_FILE on the right pane
- make sure that logical path is already set to ARCHIVE_GLOBAL_PATH
- save changes made
this setting also can be done using transaction FILE
we have experienced on this case using SAP standard archiving (SARA, SARI) and everything is fine with this setting above.
hope it help you.

Dynamic file name in case of .txt output files
Hi all,
I have a query related to dynamic file name scenario.
In case of IDOC-XI-FILE sceanrio,
<b>Is it possible to generate .txt file name based on Plant number like</b>
<b>%<Plantname>%_%<BusinessDay>_filename.txt</b>
<b>Note:I have implemneted this for .xml output files but I am not able to implement it for .txt output files .</b>
PLEASE HELP ME .
Regards
PrabhatHi Prabhat,
I think, the normal Dynamic File Name generation should work fine in your case also. Even if you perform Content Conversion, you can use Variable Name Substiution to create your Destination file name as, the name of the file is determined first and only then is the content converison perfromed.
for info on content conversion, I would suggest that you go through this thread and check my reply,

Dynamic file name creation problem
Hi Friends,
I had a requirement where i had to generate file name at target side with the following format
" raw_text_yyyymmddhhmmss.txt" . This can be acheived by using "currentdate" function but there is no field at target side which holds this value, if there was a field then i would have used variable substitution method to generate the file name.Another option is Dynamic Configuration UDF already
my root node is mapped to some src field say FLD1 based on which i will be getting multiple files.
How to customise this udf to get current date as filename for multiple target files:
DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" , "FileName");
String Outputfile = conf.put(key,a);
return Outputfile;
Regards,
Vinod.Hi Nityanand,
Your solution is right but actually problem here is recently a slight change was made for file name it should be "raw_text_yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss.txt" by using variable substitution we get file name as this format "raw_text_yyyymmddhhmmss.txt" .
@Prateek: I cant give Currentdate as direct input to udf becoz we are generating files based on a certain field from source side.We are sorting this multiple source fields and generating target files.
Any suggestions.....
