(solved)-Windows update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer

I restarted my computer but still have this issue.
I changed the setting from "install updates automatically" to "never check for updates". clicked ok and then changed back to "install updates automatically". Tried to check for updates and still receive the same error.
Windows defender was turned off. I turned it on updated it but still receive the same error message.
The background intelligent transfer service and windows update are set to "automatic delayed start" and the status for both is "started".
I'm running windows 7 home premium 64 bit
I ran the MGADIAG tool and here is the report (windows tab)

I've read through quite a few post and ran the MGADiag on the system in question.
I tried turning Auto update on and off, rebooted, removed a ton of malware, and have scanned multiple times using Hiron's to make sure it's clean. After all that, it still gets the exact same error referenced in the subject line. At this point I'm in serious
contention to do the 'upgrade' to repair the OS. Windows 7 Home Prem OA is listed on the tag attached to the tower.

Windows update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running
Running Windows 7 on a Dell N5110.
I get the above message for Windows Updates. Below that it states: Find out more about free software from (null).
I have restarted the computer.
I have run McAffe and MalwareBytes Pro- nothing wrong.
This answer didn't work because the Software Distribution folder was
already empty:
go to services and stop Windows update service
locate C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ folder and delete all its content
start Windows update service
check for update
Under Services:
BITS is set at Automatic(Delayed Start)
Windows Update is also set at Automatic (Delayed Start). It is stopped. If I try to start it, I get the following message: Windows could not start the Windows Update service on local computer. Error 1079: The account specified is different from the account
specified for other services running in the same processes.
In addition, the Windows Update shows nothing under view update history and nothing under hidden updates. Change settings allows me to do absolutely nothing. Red Shield with an x and the options are shaded.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Hi,
How's everything now?

Hi All,
I am using SCOM 2007 R2 CU4 in my environment. I want to do a service monitoring on specific agents. When i try creating this service monitor which comes under the Management pack template when i select the service which i want to monitor it does not
show all the services in the drop down.
For example - I have Windows audio service which is present on the machine, But it is not showing in the service list.
So from the services stating from "W" i see only 5 in SCOM and in services.msc in the Agent i see more than 5.
Below is the screen shot.
Can any one please help.
Gautam.75801Hi Yan Li,
So based on your above suggestion, If the services are already managed / monitored by a specific
management pack those services will not appear here in the Wizard while creating this type of a Management pack object alert right ?
If that is the case why does not the same reflect here in the operations console in the Services monitor
TAB ?

My phone randomly doesn't ring when people call and not sound the text alert. I checked all the settings and them seem to be correct. Sometimes it rings, many times it doesn't. I have missed several calls. Same with texts. Anyone know how to fix this?
Symptoms
No ringer sound
Go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtone and select a ringtone. Does the device ring? (YES: Issue resolved) (NO: Go to step 2)
Go to Settings> General> Reset> Erase All Content and Settings. Warning: This will delete all user data on the device. Verify that you have a backup before proceeding. Go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtone and select a ringtone. Does the device ring? (YES: Issue resolved) (NO: Go to step 3)
Restore device using latest version of iTunes. Go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtone and select a ringtone. Does the device ring? (YES: Issue resolved) (NO: Contact Apple for service options) -

How to verify all the Services in Oracle R12 from Unix OS
Hi,
Can someone please through some details on how to check and verify the unix processes and services from Unix backend in R12. In 11i I was using
ps -ef|grep f60
ps -ef|grep httpd
ps -ef|grep FNDLIB
Currently , I am using './adopmnctl.sh status ' command to see if all the components are UP. But I need to see the conc manager, form/report server , apache etc and on which port they are running as OS Processes.
Thanks
-SamarHi Samar,
Processes in Instance: hostname_domain
------------------------------------------------+---------
ias-component | process-type | pid | status
------------------------------------------------+---------
OC4J | oafm | 29879 | Alive
OC4J | forms | 29801 | Alive
OC4J | oacore | 29726 | Alive
HTTP_Server | HTTP_Server | 29669 | AliveThe above indicates that all application processes (except the CM) is up and running. You may also refer to the log files to verify that.
I can also see the ps -ef|grep Apache but noting is comming as ps -ef|grep FNDLIB or ps -ef|grep frmweb or
ps -ef|grep rwrun. What about "ps -ef | grep -i fnd"? If CM is down (verify by issuing "adcmctl.sh status" or from the application (Administer CM window)), the ps command will not return any result.
For the forms server, does "ps -ef | grep -i frm" return something?
I am using the R12 on linux single node. I shudown and starting all the services with adstrall.sh and it exited with status 0 after bringing up all the components. Apache and DB listeners are UP. I cant opent the forms due to firewall and Virus Protection AD blockers. What is the error you get? Can you open the forms if the firewall and pop-up blockers are disabled?
How can I check if all the services are performing OK.The adopmnctl.sh command should be helpful here. In addition, review the log files (and try the commands in this reply) to verify the application components.

Unable to see all the service of ES Bundle after EHP4
Hello All,
We have upgraded to ERP 6.0 EhP4.
I wish to use the services available in ES Bundle "External Cash Desk"
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ESpackages/ExternalCashDeskEnterpriseServices
But when I open SOAMANAGER and try to search with query as "cash", I am able to see only 1 service in the namespace http://sap.com/xi/FICA/Global i.e. "CashPointOpenItemSummaryByElementsQueryResponse_In".
Please tell me if there is any other way to search for the service.
Do let me know why am I not able to see all the services.
regards,
PiyushHi Piyush,
>Can you also tell me that can we call synch and asynch services without PI in the landscape
Sync service is like any other webservice which work over http and using SOAP protocol so calling Sync service is not issue even w/o PI.
On other hand Async services need some sort of middleware as they are not real time and often need integration with thridparty/legacy interfaces hence they need PI to manage transformation and transport part of communication.
Async services are usually designed for mediated communication (i.e. using middleware like PI).

Start all the service by utils service start
Hello All,
We have a command in CUCM CLI to start a service.
ie: utils service start <service name>
Is there any command to start all the services at a time by a single CLI command ? please let me know.
Thanks,
Raja. Why would you want to start all services? I have never seen a deployment that would require all the services, I.e do you have SMDI voicemail integration to start the messaging service?
Starting all services causes unnecessary CPU usage and other server resource waste.
