Generating Leads in Siebel from contacts availble in external database

Hello All,
Current situation: I am able to generate leads from existing contacts
Future: Generate leads from external contacts that does not exist in Siebel Marketing. This external table is exposed as Subject area in List format and Target level in Segment
1. I am able to create contacts by creating Segment loading and launching campaign. It creates record in contact and campaign contact table.
2. After this I go to Program Lead setup to Generate leads for these contacts. This does not create Leads.
Any Idea?

I am not working with mySQL, try Google it, but what I am saying is that if you are anticipating requests for reports printing and practically every business application would have reporting mechanism, you should look into integrating into your Flex front-end program some server side reports generation. There are free SQL Server versions available, you can try these. But I would carefully select a report engine because depending on user requirements you will get down the road some report programs might not be what you want. What you could do with a free copy is to come up with a vehicle to deliver a report to your Flex interface. You need to decide what format to use. For example: PDF, HTML, Image, something else.

Help needed to generate new target group for contacts from BP Target Group

In CRM 5.0, we have a functionality in which say we have created a target group (T1) for 10 BPu2019s (organization) and each of these BPu2019s have one or more contact persons associated to them. Now if I want to create a target group for all these contact persons associated to the 10 BPu2019s, in CRM 5.0 I have the option to right click on the target group (T1) and then I get an option u201C generate new target group from contactsu201D. By doing so another target group for all the contacts associated to those BPu2019s will be generated. I am not able to find out the similar option in CRM 2007 (web UI) where in I can create target group for contacts associated to BPu2019s (organization). There should be some work around for this requirement.
Please let me know how to achieve this requirement.

we're also using that functionality in CRM 5.0. I think it would be worth a combined OSS message to get this functionality back in standard if it isn't there.

Generating Leads from Campaigns

Our business wants to establish campaigns and then generate leads to assign to service technicans to followup with customers. I understand how through relationships to make leads carry the campaign, but wanted to know if there is a program similar to CRMD_MKT_PROC (create transactions without campaign reference) that would allow you to create leads from a campaign.
Should the approach be to copy this standard program and modify it, or are there alternative approaches functionality from within campaigns themselves?

This is an example of how to create leads within campaigns.
Unique TV, a television manufacturer, introduces a flat television model, Unique Flat Century, and decides to run an e-mail campaign just before the summer Olympics. The target group consists of business partners who had purchased any product of the umbrella organization, Unique Enterprises, in the last five years. About 25,311 business partners qualify.
The e-mail campaign is executed in two steps. In the first step, e-mails containing some information about the flat TV are sent out to all 25,311 business partners. Each e-mail also contains a link to a survey, which includes the question: Would you like to receive any further information on Unique Flat Century? All those who respond positively to this original e-mail qualify for the second step of the campaign.
In the second step of the campaign, Unique TV uses the process of campaign automation to automatically generate leads for all business partners who responded positively in the first step of the campaign.
I think the above Example will give brief idea, how to create the leads from campaign.
create a campaign and two campaign elements, from the campaign F5 or Campaign automation button, campaign automation screen will open and there you can define ur condtions and assign the workflows to create a leads to campaign elements.

Need for generating Leads???

With the help of acquired list or campaign execution any many more. ...we are generating leads and later we qualify them and create follow-up to make them as opportunity and hence sales cycle starts..
But I want to know if at all we have to create the opportunity what the need of generating leads???
Is is mandatory to create leads then only we can create opportunity. OR can say what is the significance of generating leads and storing them in data base???
How can I convince or make customer understandable while going for DEMO of Marketing system...

From where you are getting the leads?
If the leads are getting from external list management. and the leads are rented , then the rejects leads which are created as business partners will be deleted by the system automatically .
we have an option of selecting whether leads are rented oo bought while generating the business partners for external source in ELM.
If the leads are getting from external list management. and the leads are bought by cleint, then we acan decide whether the rejected leads should be deleted or used for other campaigns.
Hope it clarify ur doubts.

Do you need to do that just for these two sequences but not for other sequences? I don't see a problem to use SequenceFilePostStepRuntimeError. Create this callback in both sequence files and configure them to log into the same file. SequenceFilePostStepRuntimeError callback is called after each step of the sequence file if it has runtime error. You can access the calling step error information via RunState.Caller.Step.Result.Error property. Take a look to attached example.
The "other way" is useful if you need to log errors not for every step of the sequence file, but for some of them. This is more complex, because you need to create a custom step types for these steps. For the custom step you can create substeps (post-step in your case) which will be executed every time after step of this type executed. Then, this is you job to determine if error happened in the step, acces to step's error information is via Step.Result.Error property.
Also, be aware that step's post-expression is not executed in case of error in the step.

How to generate XML Publisher report from PLSQL Stored Procedure in APPS

Hi,
I have concurrent program of type PLSQL Stored procedure.I need to generate XML Publisher report from the same.I have changed the output of the concurrent program as "XML" but when I tried running it,the XML tags are not generated.Due to this I am unable to create the template.Its a urgent issue.

Hi Kaveri
Sadly there is nothing magic about that output field. The only program type that you can flip it to XML and then magically get XML is for Oracle Reports. For plsql you will need to recode the plsql to generate XML rather than text that you have now.
You have some options, best option first:
1. Move the sql to a data template - check the user guide and blog for help or
2. Use SQL XML or XMLGEN (not great for large datasets) or
3. Use dbms_output.put_line and write the XML file manually - not performant at all

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8.2, I can no longer print head shot photos from CONTACTS. Please assist.

Before upgrading to Mountain Lion, I was able to print head shots - in ALPHABETICAL order, mind you - from Contacts. Why do we not have this feature any more? Please bring back the way it was! Thank you!
Issue printing from Contacts: can't print head shots and it's no longer in alphabetical order.
Please don't tell me I can do this from iCloud, because it only prints one contact at a time.

Click GO from Finder and hold down the Option key. You'll see the Library folder in the list. Or you can click GO and select Go To Folder and type ~/Library. This will open the user\Library folder.

I don't think there is such an option on a limited phone like the 2630.
On phones running S60 such as the Nseries and Eseries devices (and a few others) there is an option to copy a number from the contacts into the clipboard and you can subsequently paste it into a new message. Older S40 phones like the 2630 don't have a clipboard facility to do copy/paste actions.

Printing a phone book (or an 'Address Book" as ontacts Help refers to it) is done directly from Contacts, and does not involve Pages. Details are available in Contacts' Help files. Try searching 'print phone book' (without the quotes).

I am following this OTN tutorial to generate the XML document from Java classes got from the XSD document.

And that is pretty annoying 'cause I need to SEE what I generate ...

Actually I would think that no indents and no new-lines would be more correct, but maybe it's an option for parsers to do it either way if you don't specify it. If you want to specify it, look at this post from last month:

Iam looking for a way to generate multiple idoc's from single appl document (sales order). Based on the plant details on line items in the sales order i have to generate multiple idocs, i.e., send one idoc to each plant entered in sales order line items. any help will be appreciated.

You can create a Z-program and call Function Module MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE.
You can make a call to this FM to send the Idoc as many times as u have plants in your Sales Order.
You can call FM IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDRSP to fill the IDoc structure.
Then u can keep the materials of only that plant for which u want to pass on the information.
