Generation Question!

Could someone please help me figure out which generation my Ipod mini is? I got it last christmas and have no clue what generation it is.

Since the second gen wasn't introduced until February of this year, it's most likely a first gen.

  • Contract Generation question: Formatting, Numbering of clauses, variables

    Hi!
    I am trying to create a Contract Document Template (for Contract Generation) with Variables
    I created some Variable Collections, but when I link them to the Contract Template, they add on with a different formatting altogether, which is neither like the placeholder in the template nor like the template attached to the variable.
    My variable configuration was of the type Paragraph.
    If anyone has any helpful tips on formatting Contract Document Templates, it would be most appreciated.
    Also, how do I ensure that numbering of sections and clauses is sequentially made in the final Contract.

    I was able to fix the problem by making some word document format changes.

  • Report generation question

    Hi,
    With regards to BI Discoverer and BI Publisher, is a report/workbook re-generated from the underlying data source every time someone requests it or does the BI server serve up an existing copy of the report?
    The context: we will have some 600 reports being accessed by 2000 odd people. I'm trying to get some understanding of the load on the server and the performance of the report generation.
    Appreciate any help you can provide.
    Cheers,
    Nim

    BI Publisher will execute your query each time you access the report, by default BI Discoverer will do also. But BI Discoverer has the possibility to schedule reports, each time the report is accessed, the scheduled (saved) result will be shown on the report. An other possibility is to use snapshots on the DB to schedule your queries and base your reports on those snopshots.

  • Pulse train generation - questions about PLL and jitter

    I need to generate a pulse train having a pulse width of 20ns and a period up to 100ms, selectable by software.
    The jitter requirement of the period is 10ppm (1us over 100ms).
    I thought to use PCI6221 to generate this pulse train but I could not find all answers in its documentation or anywhere else.
    1. Can the PLL be used to get a clock frequency to the counters of 50MHz out of the internal clock of 80MHz (5/8 factor)?
    2. Can the counters be set to output a pulse width of a single clock period in "Pulse Train" mode? (then the above 50MHz clock gives the 20ns pulse width).
    3. The datasheet states the base clock accuracy is 50 ppm, in "Frequency Generator" mode. What is the clock period jitter in "Pulse Train" mode, including the PLL effect?
    Is there any other counter/timer board that may be better for this job?
    Thanks.

    For this task first let’s take a look at the counter
    specification of the 6221.
    3. The datasheet states the base clock accuracy is 50 ppm,
    in "Frequency Generator" mode. What is the clock period jitter in
    "Pulse Train" mode, including the PLL effect? NI 622x Specifications
    page 9 states as you said 50 ppm for the “Frequency Generator” for the pulse
    train mode it will be the same 50 ppm as it is stated I below the: “General-Purpose
    Counter/Timers” title.
    I hope this knowledge base helps: How
    Do I Change The Frequency Output Of My Pulse Train On The Fly?
    You will not be able to generate a 20 ns
    pulse, since you can only derive integer multiples of the 80 MHz time base in
    this case, 1/40MHz pulses will be the closest you can get to a 20 ns
    pulse.  Also another note is that the
    frequency generator does not have a selectable pulse width, it is a 50% duty
    cycle signal.
    For more information look at the M Series User Manual  page 7-21.
    Two other products that you might be
    looking at are High Speed Digital Inputs and Outputs and Function Generators;
    take a look at those and post on the right discussion forum if you have any
    questions.

  • Ad-hoc query generation question

    I have a LTS which has 5 tables -
    Item,
    Purchase_Categories,
    Order_Management_Categories,
    Inventory_Categories,
    Costing_Categories
    Now each %_categories table is joined to Item table in physical layer. In the LTS however, each %_Categories table has an outer join with the Item table so that if a category does not exist, the item is still displayed.
    When I run a query where I select a column from Item and a column from Purchase_Categories, OBIEE still generates a query
    SELECT ITEM.COLUMN1,
    PURCHASE_CATEGORIES.COLUMN2
    FROM ITEM left outer join purchase_categories ON ...
    left outer join order_management_categories ON ...
    left outer join inventory_categories ON...
    left outer join costing_categories ON ....
    I was expecting that OBIEE would generate a query select only the tables which were need i.e. the expected query was -
    SELECT ITEM.COLUMN1,
    PURCHASE_CATEGORIES.COLUMN2
    FROM ITEM left outer join purchase_categories ON ...
    I have seen that in some cases, OBIEE selects only the table that is required to generate the join based on the column selected, even though there are multiple tables in the joined in the LTS i.e. if the query is selecting columns from only 1 table and there are 2 tables in the LTS, OBIEE generates a query with only one table which has the column being selected.
    Why this difference in behavior during query generation ? Why does OBIEE intelligently select a specific table from the LTS definition some case and in other cases does not ?

    In case of outer join oracle applied all the join conditions defined among LTes. In normal joins it is able to figure out the correct source for column and does the trimming.

  • Data Model: generation questions

    Hello,
    i'm using a latest and greatest version of the tool.
    I seemed to have problems generating the relational from logical.
    2 questions :
    1.
    emp/dept relation. in emp table i create a UK on deptno. Deptno is a FK from dept table.
    that's fine in the logical diagram, but once i hit generate it produces 2 columns in the emp - deptno ( as a fk ) and deptno2 with UK on it.
    I can't figure out why it's doing it and how to prevent it from doing this.
    2.
    when i create a view . BTW, if you can please! make the process of creation more... user friendly - i think it would be great.
    Anyway, step by step:
    create view in logical.
    add 3 tables using the query builder.
    add where clause using all 3 tables.
    generate to relational.
    go back to logical and remove on table. save changes to logical, try to generate to the relational.
    My end result - no changes to the relational view....
    Please advise.
    Also would be great if you can point me to smth more than a "help" about all those convoluted options in the "generate" menu(s).
    And thank you for this neat tool. The more i use it the better i like it.

    Maggie,
    > .. That's really unusual, so I would ask why this isn't a single entity
    you are right - it's making little sense. I agree. The reason been - I have to extend an existing schema. And i can't modify objects.
    Here is the real life scenario ( maybe you will have a better approach - i'm all for it ).
    1. I have a table Servers( server_name varchar2 - PK, + bunch of other columns )
    2. Yes, it's not a mistake PK is defined on the varchar server_name.
    3. I can't alter the table in any way.
    4. I'm creating a new entity - Book.
    Book should have only one entry per server, and have other information about the server, applications installed on it, etc.
    5. there is an entity that describes applications, per server, per environment. Where PK is defined server_name, application_name,environment_name.
    6. I think to combine these 2 ( server and applications) into Book . I'll have other entities off the Book.
    So in logical I have:
    applications:book => N:M
    applications:servers => N:1
    servers:book => 1:1
    speaking of which... hmm.. i can actually have another entity where i'll store the server_name and other information from Book. and i can create a view where i'll display servers' + book's info joining them on the server_name. I'll have to put "on update/insert/delete" trigger to handle the DML. Plus i'll have to have a UK on server_name in the new entity...
    I think it's good solution to avoid 1:1 relation.
    But it seems that 1:1 will be more streamline at this point - faster to implement, lesser locks, better scaling...
    ... Which is the parent entity and which is the child entity? With a 1-1, how do you tell?Agree.. no way to distinguish.
    ... Let me ask this, on examples where you have a standard 1-to-many relationship between two entities, do you get just the one standard foreign key column?If you imply - "does modeler generate one column in rel model ?" - then my answer is "yes". It generates one column wo problem.
    Happy New Year.

  • IPhone 1st generation question

    When iphones update to the 3.0 for picture messaging and etc. do first generation iphones still not have picture messaging because mine doesnt and im still using my email for sending pictures.

    The problem is that Apple simply isn't adding it in to the 1st generation iPhone. The phone is more than capable of doing so and there are ways to enable the 1st generation iPhone to do MMS on the internet (google). In the future there will be even more features left off the 1st generation because well, Apple wishes you would upgrade every year, it's how they make money.

  • Mapview dynamic theme generation questions

    In exercising the MapViewer tool with thematics map I had a view questions on the capabilities of the component:
    1. Is there a way in the map _request element reference a dynamically defined expression (column)
    that is returned from the query defined in the value of the "<jdbc_query>" element. I want to show counts from an inline view,
    but for brevity consider the the SQL
    select geom, state , state || '-' || state_abrv concat_state_name from states
    It seems that both the "label_column" attribute of the "<jdbc_query>" element and the "column" attribute of a "<rule>" element in
    a style rule can only reference columns that exist in the base table either of the base map/theme or in the query .
    I cannot seem to use a specification of "concat_state_name"
    in the "label_column" attribute ... throws ClassCastException. Should this be possible ?
    If not would the workaround would appear to use a view that is dynamically defined and insert a new map based on the view ?
    2. In my inline view example, I found in the "<jdbc_query>" element that when I specifed a "render_style" that
    was an advanced style with buckets it automatically selected my count expression and rendered the map correctly, which
    is great, but it might be a good idea to make it explicit if 1. could be handled (or can).
    3. For thematic maps it would be nice to dynamically define the buckets (<AdvancedStyle>)
    within the map request as the potient for permutations of numeric ranges in any application could vary.
    It looks like <styling_rules> might be able to handle this if you can use the BETWEEN operator or something
    like runway_number >= 10 and runway_number < 20 as expressions. Are these valid and if so where are they specified
    in the map_request ? I did not see them nested anywhere in the DTD yet the Example 2-1 in the documentation would
    imply they can be specified in the map request and the tool map definition tool does not seem to support the concept of a
    variable in the base table. The workaround would appear to be to dynamically add the theme using an insert.

    <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <map_request datasource = "mvdemo">
    <themes>
    <theme name="theme1" min_scale="5.0E7" max_scale="0.0">
    <jdbc_query
    datasource="mvdemo"
    jdbc_srid="0"
    spatial_column="geom"
    render_style="C.RED"
    label_style="T.STREET NAME"
    label_column="concat_state_name"
    >select geom, state , state || '-' || state_abrv concat_state_name from states where state_abrv='MA' </jdbc_query>
    </theme>
    </themes>
    </map_request>
    As long as the name specified in lable_column matches the alias you give in the select list it should work.
    If not then maybe you need to use the view-based approach. It will definately work in the up-coming 9.0.4 version.

    in the map_request ? Yes that may indeed be a good thing to have in a future version of mapviewer. In the mean time yes you can always use such expressions as you provided in the styling_rules (which is only for predefined themes) or in a <jdbc_theme>.
    I did not see them nested anywhere in the DTD yet the Example 2-1 in the documentation would
    imply they can be specified in the map request and the tool map definition tool does not seem to support the concept of a

  • PC generation question

    Hi. Currently on my project we're working on our validation logic. We've
    got two associated questions.
    Q1: Can Kodo generate constants representing column lengths and add them
    to the PC classes? We could then use these for length verification.
    (furthermore it would be cool if Kodo could optionally validate the
    lengths itself in the PC classes without users having to write any code)
    Q2: What is the recommended/typical approach taken by your customers for
    validation such as length validation. Do your customers typically let the
    database itself catch the problem and do the database messages directly
    get displayed to users, or do Kodo users explicitly check for these types
    of validations in their PC classes so that they can hand-craft the
    messages pressented to users. (I realize that length validation is
    typically done in the UI and that the answer to this question largely
    depends on requirements; nonetheless I was just wondering what the typical
    scenario is for Kodo's user-base).
    Thanks for your time support.
    Mike

    Here's what we do in our application (I'm a Kodo customer). We have a legacy
    database with many fixed length CHAR columns.
    Q2 first - We validate the length in the set method of the PC class. We
    generate a static final constant for each fixed length column and in the set
    method compare that to the length of the new value being passed in. If too
    big, we throw our own exception with a customized message. If you just catch
    the database exception it can be hard to dig out the relevent info, the
    exceptions will vary by database vendor, and they won't be thrown until
    commit time. We also use our PC POJO classes in our client (i.e. via detach
    and attach) so any edits like this that can be performed there, will be.
    Now for Q1-
    We create the classes and metadata using first the Kodo schema gen tool to
    get an XML schema, fix that XML up with additional information, then use the
    reverse mapping tool. This gives a first draft of the classes. We already
    had our own tool for generating get and set methods that we like because it
    can generate the JavaDocs, add and remove methods for collections, and other
    niceties like this length check and notification of observers. We use that
    tool to replace all the gets and sets that Kodo generated. We enhanced that
    tool to read the Kodo metadata files to do things like include the column
    name in the JavaDoc and to create the length constants and the code in the
    set method that validates the length. Alternatively, I believe you can
    replace the Kodo code generator (see the reverse customizer) with your own
    and you can also read the metadata at runtime through Kodo methods.

  • 5th or 6th generation question...

    Hi,
    I am based in the UK and want to buy a 80gb video ipod, many websites are marketing 6th generation but Amazon (UK best price) and others are selling as 5th generation, i assume there must be some difference??
    Thanks
    Michael

    There is no such thing as a 6th generation iPod.
    There is a revised 5th generation often referred to as a "late 2006 model", or a "5.5 generation".
    If you're looking at the 80gb version, it will be the latest - regardless where you purchase. The early version of the 5g was only available in 30gb and 60gb sizes - the 80gb capacity was introduced with the "late 2006" release.

  • HT1339 Ipod Nano 1st Generation Question

    I have an Ipod Nano 1st Generation.  It was initially set up on my old Mac G4.  The power supply on my G4 crashed so now I have a Mac G5.  My problem is that when I plug my Ipod into my Mac, I can see and listen to all my songs from my Ipod, but can't download them to the computer.  However, I can click & drag songs from my computer to my Ipod.  Since I lost my whole Itunes library when my other computer crashed, I really want this library from my Ipod uploaded into my computer.   How can I fix this?  Also, I want to download my Ipod songs to my new Iphone 4 and I think I need to have them downloaded to the computer to do that.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    It's not really a "fix," since iTunes works that way by design.  Your iPod was set on your old Mac to Manually manage music, so it was not "synced" to your previous iTunes library.  That is why you can connect it to your new Mac and manually add more songs to it.  (If it was set for automatic syncing to your old library, you would not be able to add new songs from a different library without replacing the iPod's existing content.)
    iTunes generally works in one direction, from computer to iPod, whether it is set to sync automatically or load manually.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to Mac, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to Mac.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
    Once the song files are on your Mac, you can add them to your iTunes library.  Then, you can set up syncing for both the old iPod and iPhone 4, from your "consolidated" iTunes library.
    Edit:  Actually, that last bit may be a problem, because I don't think you can use an iPhone 4 with a PowerPC iMac, if your iMac is actually a "G5."

  • Document generation question

    Hi All,
    I'm facing a problem with the generate document option
    as for example I want to create a document with all the employee details
    I can get the Title, F Name, L Name but i can't get the job, position
    any suggestions ??
    Thanks in advance

    I'm using the document management in the SSHR to create a full detailed pdf-report about the employee from the personal information function.
    i was able to merge the data like the first name and last name with the form field but other form field like job and position couldn't retrieve any data (blank)

  • PDF Generation Question

    Hi, I have Acrobat 8 profressional. I currently have a pdf (landscape) being populated with data. It is a government form so we started with the actual form and added the formfields and populate them with cfpdf... but now I need to make a printable for users that want to print on the actual forms. So I would just like to copy all the formfields and paste them into a new blank form. But I can't figure out how to create a landscape pdf document! I've read that there's a "Rotate" button but I can't find it. I also tried to remove the background from our existing pdf. I went under Document > Background > Remove and removed the background, but nothing happens. I still see all the government form fields and text.
    What is the best course of action for the situation? I can't believe I can't figure it out. Acrobat just doesn't seem as intuitive as many technologies. Like I created a blank image and converted it to a pdf, but I wasn't able to go into "Edit" mode (Forms > Edit Form In Acrobat).
    Thanks in advance for any guidance.
    Greg

    The PDF content, upon which you placed your form fields is a scanned image of the form.
    The image is content and not "background"; so, of course it cannot be removed by the add/replace/update/remove features associated with PDF "background".
    Something to try.
    Create a "test" copy of the PDF you now have.
    Scan the new form (eMedNY-000103 (8/09)) into PDF.
    Make a "test" copy of this PDF.
    Open "test" PDF (-000101 form). Try Document > Replace Pages
    Replace "-000101" test PDF page with "-000103" test PDF page.
    As the form's authoring file is an MS Word file, perhaps you could cajole the NY State folks into making it available (?).
    Or, a PDF of it...
    Unless it is already available via the eMedNY Electronic Gateway/BBS?
