Generic Device Profile with TouchScreen Functionality

Will there be a generic profile for (multi) touchscreen
devices supporting FL3 in the near future?
Since there are already devices that are utilizing a
touchdisplay in combination with FL3, like the Chumby, wouldn't it
be nice to test the applications you develop for that device in
ADC?
After years without touchdisplays even Nokia is also
developing new devices (N98) with touchscreen-functionality to
fulfill customer needs that may have arised by the iPhone (that
probably also might incorporate a Flash Lite implementation), so
maybe a generic device profile might be useful to already start
developing and testing applications in that (future) field.
Do you know anything about that topic? Maybe a new Adobe
Device Profile Package Release?

Same problem here. New shiny setup working just fine - until today. iMac G5 lost pairing with the keyboard. Now it's only visible as an "other device", and typing the passphrase into the keyboard achieves nothing. Search for keyboards and there's no sign of it.
I've seen other posts that relate, especially:

I still use Aperture 2.1.4. I need to export an image file with a CMYK profile. Whereas a generic CMYK profile is listed in ColorSync Utility, it does not appear on the list of profiles in the edit portion of the export preset dialogue. Help?

These profiles do not respond to clicking and dragging. Since they are all in one place, more or less, I'm reluctant to make further attempts to relocate them. Accessing the CMYK profile is the first difficult experience I've encountered with this arrangement. I have never needed the CMYK profile until recently, and that need has now past. However, it remains a mystery to me as to why it does not appear with all the others on the menu of export choices in Aperture 2, or on the menu of profile assignment choices in the Preview application (where again all the other profiles are listed as choices). I'm beginning to think my current set up will permit me to view an image that was created in CMYK space, but does not easily assign, or convert to that space. I don't face these restrictions with all the others, so it remains a curious circumstance for me. I anticipate upgrading my computer and software in the near future which might alleviate this issue altogether. Again, many thanks for your attention to this matter. The reach of this community is astounding.

Bat multiple BLF with User Device Profiles

Has anyone able to BAT in multiple Speed Dial/BLF into a user device profile. I have CUCM 7.1 and trying to BAT in a line with multiple SD/BLF for the other buttons. I get this error
Error : Missing key in referenced table for referential constraint (informix.fk_blfspeeddial_fknumplan).
I checked my phone template and it has 1 line with 5 SD/BLF

Hello,
You allocate the profile to a register so you want to have your logical register number.
If you have the equipment number you could go to table ETDZ or call FM ISU_DB_ETDZ_SELECT and fetch the registers.
If you want to see the table of profile allocations you can check table EPROFASS.
If you use IS-U-EDM the tables which contains informations about profile values are EPROFVAL*...
Hopefully some of this infomation is useful for you.

I'm using Generic Data Source with Function Module, When I execute the Function Module (Which I have Created), I'm getting 16000 records and when run extractor(in RSA3) im getting different no.of records(infact they are more no.).
when I run the InfoPackage in BI im Getting more no. of records than what i got executing the function module..
and single record is divided into 2 records in BI side(not all the records), how can it be possible???
is there anything Im missing to explain you my issue???

the datasource frame work starts the function module several times.
1. the initialization
2. the serval times, until you "raise no_more_data".
check you coding: have you refreshed necessary internal tables.

1. FIrst you excute function module according to your paramers, you will get some records. then goto tcode RSA3 --> excute
Provide your Data source name and under setting we have options like Data records/calls, Display extractor calls and selections --> fields .
in that options you have to increase the values. and then you have to pass paramers in RSA3 according to your function module
selections in SE37. Now you will get equal values in both functin module selection and RSA3 Selection. if it fail means you need to
check coding logic in function module.
2. if your are getting wrong values in BI System then check with
              1. compare with PSA data and data target data (here you need to check with characterstic as well as keyfigures)
              if you find any mistake you need change the coding in function module according to client requirement.
              2. compare data with RSA3 and bi report data or data target data.
                             check it properly above steps, you will get solution.

In safari/Facebook, the touchscreen function only works sporadically. Seems to work in other applications.

In Facebook via Safari, the touchscreen function works sporadically for Like, Comment, Share. On all but like if I depress long enough I get a drop-down menu and can choose OPEN and execute from there. This does not work with LIKE. Touchscreen seems to work on other websites and applications.

Read through the 'more like this' over on the right. Facebook has apparently changed their coding and no longer plays well with mobile browsers. your choices until Facebook fixes things is to either not use your mobile devices or find a third party app. I've had some success with Facely HD, but there are plenty of others out there.
Nothing is wrong iwth your iPad and there's nothing you can do but wait for facebook to fix things.

Velocity profiling with SoftMotion Module

Hi Folk,
I need to move a stepper motor following a velocity profile, i.e. I need to change continuously the velocity while motion is in progress.
I intend to perform the move with a cRIO platform equipped with a NI 9512 module.
By using the property & invoke nodes, introduced first in NI SoftMotion Module 2009 SP1, I have created a small test routine to perform my task.
I have used the property & invoke nodes, instead of the function blocks, because I want to update the velocity profile as fast as possible.
For the test routine I have used a simulated axis (a servo motor) and the routine is developed by using the scan interface.
In the main loop, a sinusoidal wave (point by point) generates a sample velocity profile, the velocity is passed to the "velocity" Straigth-Line Move property node and it is applied to the axis by the "Start" Straigth-Line Move invoke node.
The test routine runs circa correctly until the velocity profile cross the zero, at that time the routine stops with the following Error -77070.
I have added an offset to the generated sinusoidal profile. The test routine runs correctly if the offset sets the sinusoidal profile all positive or all negative, i.e. the offset is greater than sinusoidal amplitude.
Question (1)
I beleave that this behavior is due to a bug in the Straigth-Line Move node. I am right?

I have written that the routine runs "circa" correctly because furthermore the previous bug there is a timing issue.
I have set the Scan Period = 5 ms as it is requested for 951x modules.
If the timed loop (Synchronize to Scan Engine) is set to 5 scans or more the timing of the timed loop seems to be correct (the sinusoidal wave shows the period that has been configured).
If the timed loop is set to 4 scans or less the timing of the timed loop becomes longer (the sinusoidal wave shows a longer period as that has been configured).
Any idea about this timing issue?

I am developing a system for low-force tests of very thin tissues in tension and fatigue.
The force is measured with a load cell and is applied by pulling the sample with a linear translation stage and the elongation is measured with a linear encoder.
The linear stage is motorized with a 2-phase-stepper motor, and with two limit switches. The stepper is designed for applications with very limited space conditions and the motor is hollow.
The linear encoder has a 20 nm resolution and a 1 um accuracy, and includes an electronic for signal conditioning that is compliant with the encoder input of the NI 9512 module.
The load cell is a full bridge with an accuracy better than 0.01 %. For acquiring and conditioning the full bridge, the system uses a NI 9237.
The system will provide tests that are controlled both in force and in elongation.
For the tests controlled in force, the loop is closed with the signal measured by the load cell and the translation stage is driven in velocity.
For the tests controlled in elongation, the loop is closed with the encoder signal and the translation stage is driven in position.
For both type of tests, the user can select different test profiles, for example: a linear increasing, a sinusoidal profile for fatigue test, etc.
The user can pause the test at any time, and the system must take the condition, until the next proceed command.

I ran the code Axis Override Test 1 on my machine on a simulated Axis and this was the performance I observed:
Our versions maybe differing did you see the same behavior on a simulated axis?
Concerning the velocity that is read from the Read (Data) function block, I observe the following:
With a simulated axis (both in My computer and in cRIO-9073) the values are positive for forward move and they are negative for backward move (as you also have observed).
With the real axis (NI 9512) the values are positive both for forward move and backward move.

I want to point out that the simulated-axis is a servo drive while the real axis is a stepper drive (NI 9512).
With my software release, I believe that this behavior is due to a bug, probably in the stepper drive interface. I am right?
I suggest that you try on a real stepper axis (NI 9512).

These two questions I feel share the same root cause. It takes a little bit longer to calculate the a preemptive move in the opposite direction.
Considering the observation on the Read (Data) function block issue, now I note that my second question arises from the sum of two different behaviors. In case the Read (Data) function block issue is solved, as for simulated axis, the sentence can be rewritten as:
The velocity plot shows some computation troubles as the velocity is approaching the zero, with the derivative both positive and negative.
Furthermore I have discovered that this computation troubles gives a blocking error if the velocity is approaching the zero with a zero derivative.
Once the velocity reaches the zero with a zero derivative, the "Velocity Override" Write is no any more able to change the velocity!
No errors or warnings comes out in this situation!
This behavior is true with an axis both real and simulated, and is still true both with an all function blocks code and a mixed function blocks/invoke nodes code.
From this point of view, the velocity troubles with the approaching to zero are very very bad!
Please consider that in the previous posted example you can find an all function blocks code, Axis Velocity Override_test_0.vi, and a mixed function blocks/invoke nodes code, Axis Velocity Override_test_1.vi.
You can easily test the velocity blocking error by putting the parameter offset = amplitude in the previous posted example.

I am curious if you are observing that around zero % the override function performs poorly, was this present on the function block example? I think the problem here is the preemptive move being called from the straightline move function. Basically, the trajectory generator is still calculating points when send the command to it. Since we are updating the velocity at a very fast interval we notice some of this breakup due to the longer latancy times. Even with this

Possible reason(s):
Motion: A required resource is busy and unable to accept further commands at this time.
To get around this error you will need to call into the trajectory generator at a slower period of time to allow it to finish the operation in progress. Keep in mind the control loop we are calling into in RT is the command loop to the trajectory generator and the position control loop is performed on the FPGA of the module itself.
I want to underline that the computation troubles as the velocity is approaching the zero has not apparent connection with the Error -70216.
I have tested the posted routines with Scan Period = 5 ms and the Number of Scans = 5 or more (25 ms for cycle or more) and the computation trouble is still there every time that the velocity is approaching the zero.
The Error -70216 come out randomly and increases as the cycle time decreases.
I did not observe any decay in the time to perform the Velocity Override around zero %, but you have to consider that I did not make any test to investigate this issue.
I agree with you, the Error -70216 can arise from some commands that try to access the same resource a the same time.
In my opinion the Velocity Override has to be predominant, i.e. no matter what the routine is actually doing, the routine should start immediately to correct the actual velocity to reach the new value.
Suggestion: for the future release of the Velocity Override, please consider to leave the opportunity to select from percentage velocity (as it is now) an absolute velocity.

How to use Device Profiles and Viewing Conditions Profile in Photoshop Elements 11?

In trying to get to grips with the Colour management aspects of PSE11, I have encountered the following problems:
Having selected "Display" a sequence of clicks (Change display settings -> Advanced settings -> Colour Management -> Colour Management tab -> Colour Management)
gives a screen which includes the headings:
Device Profile and Viewing Conditions Profile.
1. Device Profile. Besides sRGB and ARGB, the profile list includes the profiles for all of the Epson papers. (I have an Epson Stylus Photo PX810FW).
I changed the Profile to an Epson Grayscale, this was accepted within the menu, but there are no changes from normal when I viewed the image on the Windows screen or within
PSE11. ("normal" is sRGB or ARGB).
I thought it worth a try to test that, if I wanted the display image to closely represent what I would get on a particular Epson paper, this may be a way to do it.(I suspected this approach because I have never
seen it in the literature!).
So what is the purpose of all of the paper Profiles appearing in the Display listing?
2. The Viewing Conditions Profile has also several options. I have tried to find the criteria for choosing one rather than the other, but failed to find any information. Can anyone help? I seek general guidance
rather than the details of the Profiles.
As a seperate question:
Selecting Image on the PSE11 menu across the top of the displayed image, and then Convert Colour Profile, I tried this process on an image, converting tiff to sRGB. When saved there was an extra asterisk in the saved title but in this case,
the file was still labelled tiff and there was no change in the number of Mbs. If a conversion has taken place, how is one to know? Does saving a tiff file as jpeg change its colour profile? When is it useful to use this feature?

Addressing your second question, you are confusing two different things.
tiff is an image file format, as is jpeg, as is psd, as is png, as are dozens (if not hundreds, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_file_formats) of other formats.
A colour profile represents the colour characteristics of devices so that, for example, displays know how to display the colours, printers know how to print them.
Image files MAY, but do not have to, contain colour profiles.

Is it possible to separate call forward unregistered & busy on a device profile?

I've got the following situation cropping up a surprising amount at our site:
User has 2 jobs within our institution. Works 3 days a week on job 1, 2 days on job 2. Each job is billed to a different cost centre, and the user doesn't want to be getting calls for job 1 when they're supposed to be working on job 2, and vice versa.
As such, we've created them 2 device profiles. When they log into the phone at the desk of whichever job they're currently working, they get prompted for which profile they want to log in to. The other device profile (if still logged in to the phone on the desk of the other job) is then forcibly logged out.
When profile 1, for job 1, is logged in, but the user is already on a call, they want incoming calls to that extension to be directed to their voicemail (i.e. set Call Forward Busy [Internal|External] to send to voicemail). They can then check voicemail and follow up on the call as soon as they're off the current one.
When profile 1/job 1 is logged *out*, i.e. they're currently working job 2, they want incoming calls to job 1's extension to be immediately diverted to a colleage within the same job 1 team.
I thought I could do this by utilising Call Forward Unregistered [Internal|External], but this does not seem to be the case. When a device profile is not logged in to a device it seems like the busy trigger just gets treated as 0 so the value of Call Forward Busy is followed. I can't see any situation where Call Forward Unregistered is ever utilised if an extension is only associated with a device profile.
Is there any way to do what I want (without massively convoluted configuration on Call Manager)? If not, do people think this is worth raising as a feature request (or bug in expected behaviour) for later versions of Call Manager?
We're currently on CUCM 8.5, FYI, in case this is something that's already been updated in version 9 or later.

Some progress on second idea. Saved a copy of universal access plist with cursor set to large then set the cursor to small again. Replacing the plist file had no effect until I went into the UA pane and changed a setting at which point it must rewrite the file and refresh because the cursor size also changed at this point.
Tried the same again and restarted Finder, no effect. Also tried altering another pref pane instead with no effect. Need a way to force the computer to look at the plist files, no idea how though. :-)

LoadUserProfile() creates a profile with Chinese characters on a remote system

I'm working on an application where LoadUserProfile() is being used to remotely load a user profile on a machine. The token being passed to LoadUserProfile() is obtained from LogonUser().
When doing this only with a Domain Admin user which is added in Active Directory, it creates a profile with Chinese characters in the C:\Users\ folder of the remote machine. Note that this happens only when logging in for the first time with
this Domain Admin account remotely on that machine.

CreateProfile won't load the profile. You need to use LoadUserProfile to load the profile, and you need to query for a roaming profile path to put in the lpProfileInfo parameter if you want to include that as well. You need a token for a
user to call LoadUserProfile, but not a profile handle. LoadUserProfile will populate that for you before it returns if it was successful. See this excerpt from

ISE 1.2 Profiling with iPAD Mini and Chromebooks

Anyone run into issues with profiling device properly with iPAD mini and Chromebooks. Recent testing with customer shows that ISE was not able to identify the devices properly. We have a case opened with Cisco, they came out with a patch for Chromebook last week but still broken, continuing to pursue with TAC. Just wondering what others have came across.

Iam facing some issue with the Function Module 'SKWF_FIND_BY_QUERY' in a BW ECC6.0 system.
As shown below, in the function module, the Table IT_PROPERTIES_RESULT gets populated with some values based on inputs like IT_CLASSES, IT_QUERY, and L.
This updation of IT_PROPERTIES_RESULT table is happening for some of the services sent through IT_QUERY and is not getting populated for some.
