Generic object services - Object services toolbox not visible in ECC 6

We recently upgraded from SAP 4.6 C to ECC 6 and are encountering problems in the generic object services in Plant maintenance.
We use this feature extensively in SAP 4.6 C to attach URL links, documents etc.
In ECC6 , In Transaction IL02, IE02, IW32 when i click on the services for object, i don't find the object services toolbox through which you can attach the documents, links etc. It surprisingly disappears. Instead of that we get a toolbar to "AddFileNetImage", ViewFileNetImage, DeleteFileNetImage.
Can this feature be added back to the screen? How is this done? kindly help.

Thanks Deepak,
But I thought the described methdology in the PDF pointed by the URL is for how to do it for any custom business object type, will it be useful for the SAP standard business object as well like BUS2093. When I try to edit an already created SAP object, it starts asking for an access key.

  • [Solved]Web Service Data Control operation not visible in Data Controls

    Hi!
I've created Web Service Data Control (named MyDataControl ) in my DataModel project for my web application (ADF BC 10.1.3.3). I've finished the wizard successfully (added initiate operation to the right side in step 2: Data Control Operations) but when the wizard finishes the initiate operation is not visible in the Data Controls (MyDataControl is visible without the operation). I'm using CVS so I think maybe some files were write protected while creating the control.

  • Dynamically changed view within a IFrame object in HTML page is not visible in UI Automation tree

    Hi,
I have a webpage where are are some links in the top of the page. Then there is a IFrame. When the web page is hit, it opens with a default page in the IFrame. Clicking on each link will load a page in the IFrame alone.
The UI Automation tree detects the controls in the IFrame when application is opened in a new IE page.
I tried to navigate to a new page by clicking on a link and iframe was loaded with the  new page.
Then navigating to the iframe in the UI Automation tree i was just able to see a ControlType.Custom control and not able to navigate beyond further.
Note: I just work on the client side and don't have access to the server or the application code.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • OAM 10g attribute is not visible in object class in Identity System console

    Hi All,
This is about OAM 10g environment with OID used as user/config/policy store. There are one custom user object class and custom attributes defined in Identity System console already. Now there is a requirement to add another custom attribute to that already existing custom user object class.
I have created the attribute in schema through ldap command and I am able to see it in LDAP browser as well. However even after restarting OAM identity server and webpass services, the attribute is not visible in Identity System console -> Common Configuration -> Objectclasses -> Custom object class.
Appreciate any help. Please treat this as urgent.
    Thanks
    Mahendra.

The solution is to add the attributes in OVD schema as OVD is the user store.

  • Load Balancing, User Visible Service objects, Runningman

    1. Load Balancing
Load Balancing a partition has nothing to do with single or multi-threaded
behaviour of that partition. If you load balance a partition it means that
you can start 1 or more copies of that partition. How many to start can be
specified. If the partition is load balanced there will be router partition
that routes calls to any of the services in that partition.
Now let us look at a special kind of partition (load balanced partition
that has an Env visible SO and a user visible DbSession). This is one of
the design patterns to acccess the database efficiently. Each of these
partitions are single threaded because DbSession is inherently single
threaded. This partition is single threaded because Dbsession is single
threaded and not because the partition is replicated.
Another case is when you make a partition load balanced and it has only
SO(s) made out of tool classes and does not have Dbsessions then each of
these partitions can run multi-threaded beacuse there are no
single-threaded objects to make the partition single threaded
    2. User Visibility
Case A - If you have only User visible SO(s) in a partition then each
behaves like a global named object. Whoever accesses it will get a copy of
    their own.
Case B - If you have a user visible SO and an Env Visible SO in the same
partition then the user visible SO will be private to the partition and
cannot be accessed from outside that partition.
    3. Running Man
When you run an application by clicking on the running man Forte uses its
default partitioning scheme and runs the application. The partition scheme
that you made will be used only when you run the application distributed or
from the partition workshop. This is the time you might encounter errors if
    your partitioning is not right.
    Hope this helps.
    Nirmal

    Don,
You are right. I should have said - Forte uses its own partitioning scheme
not the default scheme you see when you open partition workshop.

Actually, clicking on the "running man" from the repository or project
workshop will cause the application to be run VERY differently thanrunning
    it distributed.
It's not technically correct to say that the default partitioning schemeis
    used with the running man.
Forte consulting offers a deployment workshop that covers the finerpoints
of this and other distributed issues.

  • RE: (forte-users) User-visible service object

This solution will cause network traffic for all method calls on the
environment visible SO. This overhead is not incurred when calling methods
on a user visible SO in the same partition. Depending on the frequency of
calls and the volume of data being passed in and out, this could be
    significant overhead.
We have successfully implemented the following.
Create a second User Visible SO based on the same class. Then you will be
able to partition the one SO into the client partition and the second into
    the server partition.
For example, assume the underlying class is named MessageService then define
    your SO's as
    ClientMessageService -> MessageService
    ServerMessageService -> MessageService

    Subject: (forte-users) User-visible service object
    Hi folks!
We've got a user-visible service object that handles
    initialisation of and
    access to the message catalog.
This works well on the client, but we would like to use the
    same
mechanism (and even the same service object) on the server
    so that
service objects on the server have access to their message
    catalog on
    the
    server.
I was hoping that if we referenced this user-visible service
    object in
both the client and the server code, that it would partition
    a copy in
each of the client and server partitions. However, we
    cannot get this
user-visible service object duplicated on the server. If we
    drag and drop
it onto the server partition in the partition workshop, it
    disappears from
    the client partition!
Anybody got any idea how we could do this?

I would try going to the "lowest common denominator" between WindowsNT and
Windows95 - DOS. Both windowing OS's sort of have their roots in DOS, or at
least both are capable of opening a DOS session.
Therefore, from a DOS prompt type "set" to view the environment variables for
both OS types. Look for a common variable between the two that stores the
userID. If you can find one of these your application will be that much more
portable between these two Windows mutations.
I used "set" on my NT and found my userID assigned to a few variables. I haven't
done this on a Windows95 machine in quite some time, but if the machine is on
the network it should have at least one environment variable with the userID.
I'm just guessing that DOS has a variable to store the userID that will be
    common to both machines.
    Good luck....

  • Service Objects Toolbox

    Hi All,
Could anybody please try to answer the following
If we store anything in the Service Objects Toolbox (PATH- Go to any change PO mode - System (on the top menu) > Services for Object.
A pop up window is displayed. We can enter any note/attachment etc there.
My question is if we enter anything here, will it considered as Internal (within the company) or External (communicated to vendor). I mean, will it be printed on PO print or in any forms of output such as ALE etc
    Thanks

Basically it is internal but with some configuration changes, you can even send that information out.

  • Services for Object in Maintenance order can not link

    Hello,
"Services for object" in Maintenance Order can not link to share point.
Linking documents from the C drive or Global drive is successful but if SHAREPOINT is used, it fails
When trying to link to a Word document on our Sharepoint... It fails... when I'm in an order... it gives me an error... (displayed on the attached Word file...) and when I'm working within a document... (CVN02) it merely links to my C:\ drive which won't work...
We need to link to our "master" Sharepoint (web based) documents.

  • Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion

I was able to call the services on the development box - windows server without any problem at all, everything was working fine but the moment i uploaded to a linux box production server I get this error. "Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion"
What could be the cause of this problem, i have googled a lot but no solution yet any ideas.

    Let me make it simple:
    1. Server A is our development server.- hosted inhouse with coldfusion installed.
    2. Server B is our production server - a linux server with coldfusion installed hosted on the internet
    3. Server C is a third party server containing the webservice - this is a windows server with .net
coldfusion is installed on Server A, the code works here and can connect to server C without any problem. It gets the required respone
but when the code was uploaded to server c it gives the error when we run it.
now i tried just a simple code which works fine on server A below:
    <cfinvoke webservice="http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL" method="ConversionRate" returnvariable="ConversionRateResult">
        <cfinvokeargument name="FromCurrency" value="EUR" />
        <cfinvokeargument name="ToCurrency" value="USD" />
    </cfinvoke>
    <cfdump var="#ConversionRateResult#" />
But when i uploaded it to server C: it returns the error
Cannot generate stub objects for web service invocation.
Name: http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL. WSDL: http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL. java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/coldfusion8/stubs/WS728929035/NET/webserviceX/www/Currency.java (No such file or directory) It is recommended that you use a web browser to retrieve and examine the requested WSDL document to ensure it is correct. If the requested WSDL document cannot be retrieved or is dynamically generated, it is likely that the target web service has programming errors.
The error occurred in /home/works/public_html/currency.cfm: line 7

    6 :
    7 :     <cfinvokeargument name="ToCurrency" value="USD" />

    9 : </cfinvoke>
Now if you try the preceeding code on a windows environment  it works fine but the moment you put in the in the linux environment it generates this error
I feel that the error may actually be :
java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/coldfusion8/stubs/WS728929035/NET/webserviceX/www/Currency.java (No such file or directory)
but i am clueless as to what to do next
