Generic Object services : Store business Document in VA03

Hello Everybody,
I  want to store business document in VA03, using SAP archive link.
To get service object toolbox I had been added SD_SWU_ACTIVE = X for my user.
Now the Toolbox appears, but the Store Business Document function is not activated.
Could you explain to me, how to activate this functionnality for this document type (BUS2032) ?
Regards.

Hi Kenneth,
For the Store Business Document option appear at GOS buttom:
1) Check that in the OAC3 entry with Bussines Object are 'X' at field 'S' (Status)
2) The Bussines Object are generates on SWO1 transaction.
Can you upload any document to the repository to slant OAAD transaction??
Best Regards

  • What is this "Store business document" option in SAP/PO

    Hi
    please let me know what is this "Store business document" option in PO -> services for object -> Create -> Store business document?
    Thanks
    Raju

    Hi Raju
    Create Business Object is used to Attaching a PC Document to an Object and Storing, and you can append documents, which have a connection to an object, from your PC to the object and at the same time store it in an optical archive.
    Prerequisites
    This function is only then active if an optical archive is connected to the SAP System. The document type (format template, for example FIINVOICE) and document class (for example DOC or FAX) of the document that you want to store must be known.
    Procedure
    In the Toolbox of the object services, choose .
    Choose Store business document.
    Expand the node of the document class that corresponds to your document.
    Choose the document type that corresponds with your document by double-clicking on it.
    Enter the path and file name of your document in the following dialog box.
            Alternatively, you can use the value help to call a window with the directory structure of your PC,         in which you can call the directory and select the document by double-clicking.
    Choose .
    Result
    The PC document is stored in the optical archive. You and other users can call it by using the Attachment List of the object.

  • Services for Object - Store Business Documents (issue with XLSX files)

    Hi,
    We are using the Services for Object > Store Business Document to be able to drag and drop files into (for example) Sales Inquiry, Sales Order, Sales Quotations etc.
    Within OAC2 we have set up the global document types and these have been linked to the relevant Object Types and Content Repositories in OAC3.  We have also set up the Content Repository as Document Area 'ARCHLINK'.
    The ArhciveLink Basic Settings in OAG1 have the 'Always Copy Document Class from Document Type' set under Storage Settings.
    The issue we are having is with XLSX document types.  When we drag and drop the XLSX documen type using the Store Business Document the file is stored against the Sales Order but when you come to view the attachments MS Excel opens but an error message appears saying 'Excel cannot open the file '******' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file'?
    We have reviewed SAP notes 1925897, 1739026 and 1145885 however non appear to give me a clear answer as to why this is happening?
    I have found that if we unselect the option 'Always Copy Document Class from Document Type' in OAG1 then we can open the XLSX files.
    As we have a significant amount of documents attached to various objects, what would be the implications of making this change agianst existing records and new records?
    Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi David,
    No joy I'm afraid!!
    I added entry 'xlslx' with the relevant MIME Type, Application and Description into table TOADD for the ArchiveLink settings and also this entry was already in tables SDOKMIME and SDOKFEXT for KPro.
    I then following the process via the Services for Object within VA12 (Change Inquiry) to then Create > Store Business document > Select the relevant Document Type > Drag and Drop the XLSX file into the empty box.
    I then saved the record and tried to view the attachement but I am still getting the same message  'Excel cannot open the file '******' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file'?
    Our client is on componet SAP_BASIS release 701 Support Level 0014 and Support Package SAPKB70114 and I can see that note 1237688 is for SAPKB70112?

  • How to attach document using Generic Object Service

    Hi all,
    How can i create attachment to the parked invoice using Generic Object services? i want function modules which are used to do it.
    Actually I want to do this from the business object method. I am having word document as one of the workitem step. once i get this document I need to attach this document to the parked invoice so that users can see that document by view object list.
    Its urgent.
    thanks.

    Hello,
    Check your configuration of document type assignement to required business document - object type, Archivelink table, content repository in OAC3 transaction.
    Goto respective business document > Click on GOS > Create > Store business document - Here you can see defined document type with desctiption. Double click on this the assign your document to this business document. Save it.
    This will help in attaching the document to your required business document.
    To verify you can check the archivelink table or by transaction OAAD.
    Hope this will help you.
    -Thanks,
    Ajay

    In ECC 6.0 the generic group services can be found in several transactions. But in VA02, VA03 transaction e.g. it is missing. Does anybody know how we could activate it there?
    Thanks in advance to all

    Hello everybody
    Unfortunately I still couldn't find helpful answers. Isn't there a way to activate those generic object services in VA02, VA03 e.g. like it is available out of the box in MM02, MM03, FB02, FB03, etc.?
    We would like to link a sales order (business object type BUS2032) with an URL pointing to a PDF-Document.

  • Connect a Word document instance to Generic Object Services/BDS

    Hello all,
    how can I manage to get a word document created via the Doc_template step to a certain Business Object (like Business Partner). I tried to trace that but I got lost in generations of codes like archivelink, sap office, knowledge provider etc.) I guess it should not be that difficult as I have the key of the word doc instance and the key of the business partner instance. What I want at last is to have that word document linked via attachments/linked objects or something similar....
    Kindest regards from Germany,
    Markus

    Markus,
    Welcome to the forum!
    I have done this sometime ago at a past client site and will see if I can find the code.
    If I remember correctly, this involves converting the attachment to an SOFM object (using method CREATESOFM of BO WF_DOC) and then using function module BINARY_RELATION_CREATE to attach it to the BO. The links below will give you more info. Also Google for BINARY_RELATION_CREATE which should give you more links.

  • Attach Documents to Custom Program Using Generic Object Services

    Hi There,
             I created Object type ZGOS and used in the custom program, when i try to attach documents it allows and then shows in attachment list.
            But When I use that program next time that document attached is not available.
    Is there any separate save Class or FM available for saving the document to the specified custom program.
    I am using following code in the program,
      CLEAR obj.
    SET OBJECT TYPE TO 'ZGOS'
      obj-objtype = objtype.
    SET OBJECT KEY = REPORT NAME
      SELECT SINGLE name
      FROM trdir

    CALL GOS MANAGER WITHOUT CONTAINER (WILL BE DISPLAYED IN THE TOOLBAR)
      CREATE OBJECT manager

  • Attach Documents using Generic Object Services

    With reference to Manual Bassani's SDN Contribution of code examples on how to attach documents using Generic Object Services - we have found that since implementing ECC 6 the following code no longer works (at the end of page 9):
    CALL CREATE ATTACHMENT SERVICE FROM TOOLBAR
    WHEN 'ATTACH'.
    CALL METHOD MANAGER->START_SERVICE_DIRECT
    EXPORTING
    IP_SERVICE = 'CREATE_ATTA'
    IS_OBJECT = OBJ
    EXCEPTIONS
    NO_OBJECT = 1
    OBJECT_INVALID = 2
    EXECUTION_FAILED = 3
    OTHERS = 4.
    It is necessary to use IP_SERVICE = 'PCATTA_CREA' to get this to function correctly.

  • Generic Object Services with SAPGui Classic Theme

    Dear Experts,
    the button for Generic Object Services is available in different transactions like VA03, ME23N, etc. We are facing now the problem that if a user has in his SAPGui the "Classic Theme" choosen the button for the GOS is not visible. The services can be only accessed through the menu (System->Services for Object)
    With other SAPGui Themes the GOS button is visible.
    We are using SAP Logon 720 Patch-Level 4.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi again,
    Thanks for the answers, they were very helpful,
    but the customer isn't happy with the "Store business Documents" and it's Drag n' drop interface.
    I'm to develop a new GOS menu item, that will show
    a normal Open File dialog, and a following popup
    where the user can change the document title shown
    in the Attachment list.
    ARCHIVOBJECT_CREATE_FILE and ARCHIVOBJECT_GET_TABLE
    along with ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT should probably
    cover the functionality I need.
    I know both the BOR type ID and the object ID is
    available to me in the Execute() method of the GOS menu handler I'm overriding, but for the ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT, I'm supposed to supply an AR_OBJECT parameter (I know that this information is stored in the TOAOM table), but I have no clue where to get this information for the current object I'm trying to add an attachment for.

  • Attachment List in Generic Object Services disabled

    I want to attach documents to a work centre (transaction CR02, business object BUS0011). This has been configured so that the document will reside in the content management server and will be accessed using Archivelink. I can successfully store the doc using trasnaction OAWD, and can then retrieve the doc using transaction OAOR. The links are correctly created in table TOA03.
    However, when I try and view the docs from the Generic object services button for transaction CR02 the "Attachment List" link is greyed out.
    I've just set this up for invoices (object BKPF) so can't understand why this hasn't worked for work centres.
    I've implemented the interface IFARCH21 for BUS0011, and this hasn't resolved the issue.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Richard

    Richard,
    Your using the wrong object, I don't have access to an SAP system right now, so I can't tell you what the correct object is, but when it's configured correctly in OAC3 it will not be grey out.  Best thing to do it see what the object the program is publishing.  This is what GOS is looking for.  IFARCH21 is not the answer, unless your using workflow

  • Using GOS to store business document on the content server

    Hello All,
    BACKGROUND
    We use content server to store business documents via ArchiveLink.  The process to store a business document is via Generic Object Services menu path "Create -> Store business document".
    ISSUE
    When document is stored in such a way, the actual name of the document is not displayed in the "Attachment list" of the GOS menu nor is it stored on the content server.  What we see instead in the "Attachment list" is a description of the Archive object (TOASP-objecttext) for all documents that we store.
    NEED HELP
    We need to have a document's name (i.e. name of the uploaded file) displayed in the "Attachment list" of GOS.  We also need to be able to retrieve this file name programmatically via a function call or a class method.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Gene.

    1. In GOS attachment list i can able to see the attachment name (without extension) may be you need to check your layout using change layout (its may hidden)
    2. For getting attachment name programatically try this way
      i_object-typeid = 'BUS2012'.
      i_object-catid  = 'BO'.
      i_object-instid = yatthdr-docno.       " Document Number
      refresh : i_brel, i_link.
    * Get Attachment List
      append 'ATTA' to i_brel.
      if not i_brel is initial.
        select *
          from srgbtbrel
          appending corresponding fields of table i_link
          for all entries in i_brel
          where
            instid_a eq i_object-instid and
            typeid_a eq i_object-typeid and
            catid_a  eq i_object-catid and
            reltype  eq i_brel-reltype.
      endif.
      wa_filter-send_info = ' '.
      wa_filter-no_content = 'X'.
      loop at i_link into ls_link.
        clear : wa_doc_data.
        wa_fol_cont-doc_id = ls_link-instid_b.
        call function 'SO_DOCUMENT_READ_API1'
          exporting
            document_id                = wa_fol_cont-doc_id
            filter                     = wa_filter
          importing
            object_header              = wa_obj_hdr
            document_data              = wa_doc_data
          exceptions
            document_id_not_exist      = 1
            operation_no_authorization = 2
            others                     = 3.
    You can find the File Name in the WA_OBJ_HDR
