Generic technology connector

How do i delete a generic technology connector in IDM ?
I can see manage , create .... How do I delete one ? :)
Cheers
S.

Everything can be done at DB level. That's too obvious. Usually we do DB Backup.
But its not recommended. Anyway you are always open to R&D and it would be good if you can find a solution and share it for other users as well.

  • Regarding Generic Technology Connector OIM

    Hi,
    With what type of resources can we use a generic technology connector (GTC) for recon and provisioning ?
    Can it be used for recon/provisioning with common resources like AD, ACF2 or simply with resources like flat file, ODS ?
    Kindly reply.
    Kind Regards,
    Varun

    For AD, ACF2 etc quite sophisticated OOTB connectors are already available. GTC is only for Flat File etc.
    GTC is a buggy technology and not recommended to be used.

  • What is data sets,parent data,child data in generic technology connector..

    Hi All,
    I am a new learner to OIM. Please try to give a brief details of data sets,child data,parent data,providers in Generic Technology Connectors..
    Thanks in advance..

    Description:
    You get this error, if you are passing reserved key words to the XML Parser or the XML syntax is wrong.
    Cause:
    I suppose, you are getting this error from tcImportOperationsIntf's addXMLFile() method. From your error message it looks like, when a file is submitted to XML Parser during the import operation, syntax is wrong.
    Solution:
    Check the code that is generating the xml file. Easy way to test is : open the xml file in IE. If there is syntax error, IE will throw you the error.
    Hope this helps you.
    Cheers,
    Raghavendra

  • Generic technology connector and SPML problems

    I'm having some trouble finding docs for my problem. What I'm trying to do is create my own spml web service (employing the new Java 6 JWS technology), which can be used by OIM by means of a generic technology connector . But no matter what I do, I can't seem to make the two communicate. I can't find any documentation explaining how to create a SOAP web service for SPML: what methods should be created, their signature, whether there is any specific WSDL that I should use to generate the Java classes and methods for the web service, etc...
    I actually don't even know whether the new JWS can be used at all. Perhaps I should be using Apache Axis (or Axis2) or something else.
    Thanks.

    This is what I've found in the docs:
    "Each SPML request is sent in a SOAP message. The SOAP header carries authentication information for the request. The actual SPML request data is the SOAP message body. "
    All I'm trying to do is create a SOAP web service (in this case with Java 6, but that's not fundamental) that can intercept that message and grab the SPML request (and then do what I have to do).
    I tried with something like the following code:
    package wsspml;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.util.logging.*;
    @WebService
    public class SPMLServer {
         public String processRequest(String requestData) {
    but it won't work. It's like the exposed SOAP method "processRequest" is invisible. It's not being called. Perhaps the signature is wrong. I don't know what to make of it. I'm trying to understand how to grab that SPML request that's coming from OIM through the custom generic technology connector that I configured.

  • Generic Technology Connector Process Form

    Hi,
    I have created a GTC database connector which provisions data to 3 tables. The problem i am facing is after the connector is created and if i create a new version in the form manager and add pre-populate adapter and try to make version active. I get the following error.
    ERROR [XELLERATE.SERVER] Class/Method: tcSDK/validateReconciliationFieldMappings Error :Newer version of the user defined form does not contain all of the fields that are mapped for reconciliation.
    ERROR [XELLERATE.SERVER] Class/Method: tcDataObj/save Error :Data Update Failed
    I am not changing any fields only adding pre-populate adapters
    Thanks & regards,

    I have also tested the same with 2 test database tables and if i update the child form with pre-populate adapter and than update the parent form with pre-populate adapter, it gives the same error.
    So what are the things i need to take care of while updating the parent and child forms.
    Thanks

  • Issues with WS/SPML Generic Technology Connector

    Hi,
    When a recon event occurs from my trusted source(user created in iPlanet), the user is to be provisioned to my WS based Target via the WS/SPML GTC.
    If I set the access policy to be 'with approval' (default approval process - approved by XELSYSADM), the provisioning shows up in the Admin's Pending Approvals, and I am manually able to approve and complete the provisioning.
    However, If I remove the 'with approval' from the access policy, the GTC Framework Provisioning fails, and the entire transaction is rolled back - i.e., the user is not even created in OIM (but the event shows up in the User Management -> Reconciliation Manager of the Design Console).
    I would like to completely automate the provisioning, i.e. the user created in iPlanet should be reconciled and automatically provisioned via the GTC without the intermediate approval step.
    Any clues on how to set this right?
    AJ

  • Generic LDAP Connector

    Hi,
    do we have in OIM such as a Generic LDAP connector to connect
    LDAPs like OpenLdap?
    Thanks.

    The traditional solution to your problem is to take the "Sun Java System Directory" connector and customize it. All the LDAP based connectors are based on JNDI so they will work fine with any LDAP v3 server.
    I seem to remember that there was some talk of LDAP support in the generic technology connector framework but it doesn't look like the support is there in 9.1.
    Best regards

  • OIM 11.1.1.5.0 BP02 Generic UNIX Connector Configuration Problem

    I have an inquiry regarding the configuration of the Generic UNIX Connector on 11.1.1.5 of OIM. Basically, when I try to do Primary Group Recon and Shell Recon, I get an error saying:

    Thanks for the reply! found out that I populated Connector Server with a value hence it was giving out this error. Thanks!

  • Question about 'Generic Database Connector'

    Hi SAP IdM Gurus,
    I found 'Generic Database Connector' in the list of SAP NW IdM connectors overview.
    I'd like to check the capability of this connector in detail.
    I'm wondering whether it could provide not only  a connectivity of RDBMS, but also custom-developed application using the RDBSM for their ID/Password repository. If it provides only a connectivity of RDBMS, Is there a connector for the custom-developed application using the RDBSM for their ID/Password repository?
    My question is that which connector is used for the connectivity  of custom-developed application using the RDBSM for their ID/Password repository.
    I would really appreciate it if you could answer the question.
    Thanks
    Kenneth

    Kenneth,
    The Generic Database connector uses a JDBC connection and allows for the and writing to databases.
    That being said, you can also use this connection to set up access to the system or drop access using SQL commands and set them up per the framework.
    What specific Database are you working with?

  • Generic LDAP Connector used against AD

    I am trying to use the generic LDAP connector to provision to a development AD. The only port available is 389 so the AD MA cannot be used because it requires 88 for Kerberos.
    The generic LDAP hangs during configuration after the Configure Anchors screen.  The release notes say that it will work against 3389 on a GC.
    Is there some special set of choices to configure this to connect to Active Directory?
    Randy

    I let the process run for about an hour and the MA create wizard moved to the next step. It took about an hour on the last property panel of the create wizard as well. The configuration was limited to just the Users container and only the user object type
    and only a handful of attributes.

  • Generic connector with webservice and SPML provider

    Hi,
    I have created a Generic connector in Oracle Identity server successfully with Webservice transport porvider and SPML payload provider. But when I am trying to create a user using this connector I am getting following error in OIM server log:
    AJPRequestHandler-RMICallHandler-20 XELLERATE.WEBAPP - Setting the response code as GCPROV.ProvTransportProvider.WebServices.Caught exception while handling request: malformed array t
    Can anyone please help me regarding this? I am even not able to identify where it is getting failed.
    Thanks in advance

    This is what I've found in the docs:
    "Each SPML request is sent in a SOAP message. The SOAP header carries authentication information for the request. The actual SPML request data is the SOAP message body. "
    All I'm trying to do is create a SOAP web service (in this case with Java 6, but that's not fundamental) that can intercept that message and grab the SPML request (and then do what I have to do).
    I tried with something like the following code:
    package wsspml;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.util.logging.*;
    @WebService
    public class SPMLServer {
         public String processRequest(String requestData) {
    but it won't work. It's like the exposed SOAP method "processRequest" is invisible. It's not being called. Perhaps the signature is wrong. I don't know what to make of it. I'm trying to understand how to grab that SPML request that's coming from OIM through the custom generic technology connector that I configured.

  • Generic Connector - Web Services - Format provider other than SPML?

    Hi.
    Using OIM, I need to "talk" with Windows Sharepoint [Web] Services in order to provisioning an user (actualy, I need to associate a user to a Sharepoint Group).
    To do that, I'm exploring the Generic Technology Connector capabilities.
    From what I understand reading the documentation, the target Web Services have to "understand" the "SPML" format provider standard, and I didnt have found any evidences that the Sharepoint Services are SPML compliant.
    So, my questions are:
    1) Anyone knows of a GTC talking with Web Services non-SPML compliant (in particular, Microsoft-branded Web Services)?
    2) Are there alternative ways of doing what I need (using the Generic Connector... or not)?
    Thanks in advance.

    the way we did it was to get the wsdl of the service you need to talk to.
    try and create the client stubs with axis or xfire (depending on which version of axis you may need other than rpc/encoded format) create the standalone client to test you service.
    once you get it working take you client code, jar it up into the ThirdParty directory along with the required jars for the service implementation.
    then write your adapter using the code from the your client jar.

    Well what is the error which you get while doing Trusted Recon. If its some connection error then confirm that you have required connection jar files placed in the ThirdParty folder of OIM.
    I am not very sure but I thing these would be the jar files required:
    Oracle 8i - classes12.jar
    Oracle 10g - ojdbc.jar
    so make sure you have right jar files.
    Thanks

  • OIM 11g GTC DB Connector Error

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to perform trusted recon with Database Tables. Thus have deployed connector "DBAT_91050". However , when i create connector for the same its thworing error
    "An error occurred while updating the IT resource parameters with the values provided for the run-time provider parameters of generic technology connector EMPLOYEE HR SYSTEM"
    Here are the connection parameter specified by me :
    Database Driver     oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Database URL     jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:orcl
    Database User ID     dev_oim
    Database Password     ********
    Customized Query
    Use Native Query     No
    Connection Properties     SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS),NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT)
    The connection property provided here is as per the sqlnet.ora configuration as specified in Oracle Database.
    Can anyone please suggest what can be the exact issue here.
    Thanks & Regards

    The issue is resolved. The problem was with attribute datatype mis-match.

  • Availability flat file connector?

    Hi Everyone,
    Is there any flat file connector (ex: loading accounts from .csv file) from oracle. Bcoz, i didnt see connector in the connector download list. If yes can some one help me giving that link. if not, Any guidance on how we can build this connector.
    Many Thanks,
    Murli

    Hi,
    You want to load accounts from .csv file to Oracle Identity Manager?
    In That case, you can create a Generic Technology connector (GTS) for csv file, both trusted and un-trusted reconciliation, Using Oracle Identity manager user and admin console.
