Genius Bar and non working 3G iphone

My new 3g iphone was not working, I could hear people but they could not hear me regardless of signal strength. Went to the Genius bar and was told it was a SIM card issue and it was ATT's problem. No I am not a MAC Genius but I would have thought it was the microphone, so to male MAC happy I went to ATT who were more puzzled then me. They replace SIM card and still no one could hear me now. went back to the BAR and demanded a new phone, I was look at I was wrong and it was something I was doing (maybe not talking into the phone) and that’s why people could not hear me. After a demo for the genius he agreed it was the phone, so He disabled the 3G on the phone and placed a work order and said they would call me when the new phone came in. So now I have a new 300 dollar phone that I can not speak to people with or surf the net at faster speed, for this I pay $70 a month? I was referred back to ATT.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Call Apple and complain, complain about the stores service, and insist they replace the fun with a new iphone. You just bought a 3G phone, it only came out a couple days ago. There is no excuse for them not replacing the phone for a new phone. Thats just horrible service.
Raise **** on apple's support line.
Frankly i'm seeing a decline in Apple store service over the past 2 years...
Demand that they replace it with a new phone. Apple should not be allowed to take your money and leave you with a "refurbished" Iphone 3G, a couple days after its launch!

    Please correct your porfile: iPhone 4 do not have IOS 6.1.4.
    The usual troubleshooting steps are, also remember to test it after every step:
    1. Restart
    2. Reset
    3. Restore from backup
    4. Restore as new.
    If no joy, make an Appointment with the Apple genius and have them evaluate

    You're not using a supported carrier. What did you think Apple was going to tell you?
    As fizzDripper suggests, contact the SIM card provider. How to make an unsupported SIM work on your phone is not Apple's problem.

    Assuming you have Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks, restart and hold the Command and R keys.  When the reboot has completed, click Utilities on the menu bar if the utilities window has not automatically opened.  Click Terminal.  When the Terminal window has opened, type exactly the following:
    resetpassword
    and press Enter.
    When the Reset Password Window opens, select the internal storage, the user, and type a new password twice.  Do not enter a hint.  Click Save.
    Accept the next window that opens, and back at the Reset Password window click the lower right button to accept the reset of the user's home directory permissions.
    Click the apple left side of the menu bar, Restart and you will now have a new password.

I have tried restoring to a backup but that didn't help. I haven't had time to do a full restore but I will try if the problem persists.

    An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.

    Is there a Mac guru who makes house calls in Concord, California.? I'm getting finger pointing between the Genius Bar and Adobe Support. It;s been a week and I'm at my wit's end.

    I upgraded from OS X 10.4.1 to Snow Leopard 10.6.8. After lots of application problems I took the computer to the Genius Bar. The computer upgrade was given the "thumbs up". They said the problems are with licensing issues with Adobe Creative Suite 4. The other application problems could be resolved by just uninstalling Microsoft Office and reinstalling it. The Microsoft Office reinstall seems to have gone well, however it is still slow to open and the color wheel spun extra-long on this morning's first opening.
    We are operating two accounts on our one Mac Pro computer. Since the upgrade, we can not both have an Adobe application open at the same time. They work fine when only opened on one desktop, but we get an "ATM Subsystem Failure" notice when the program attempts to open on the other desktop. I've spent many hours on the phone with Adobe, they helped me remotely to reinstall CS4, but the problem remains. Finally, last night, the tech guy said that it has to be an Operating System failure and to take the computer back to Apple.
    Frustration prompted my writing. I have a call in to someone local who may be able to help, who knows!

    As of February 1 all my notes disappeared from my iPad, iPhone and iCloud. Went to Genius Bar and they had no answer for me.  Reset my iPad with a prior iCloud backup date, no luck getting my notes back.   Genius Bar and apple have no clue, any ideas.  Thanks

    Try Spotlight Search your notes.
    1. From any Home screen page of iPad, drag your finger down anywhere on the center of Home screen.
    2. Spotlight search will now appear and you can search for apps, texts, or any other content you'd like just as you did on previous versions of iOS.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Lion was just installed by Genius bar and I am updating software.  I downloaded software from Apple to update my Brother MFC-J6710DW printer.  It won't install...have tried 3 times.

    Lion was just installed by Genius bar and I am updating software.  Also did 10.7.4 update.  The driver for my Brother MFC-J6710DW  will not install.  Have downloaded it three times.  When I try to print I get the message that there is new software to install from Software Update.  Grrrr.  Have also tried a reinstall from  the driver on a disk that came with the printer.  Any insights?

  • Completely frustrated with downloan not working and deleting and attempting to reinstall resulting in three different accounts on my computer and none working.

    I downloaded Firefox mobile to my Droid. Connected to computer and followed instructions, using code provided on phone. Did not work. I tried to re-sync phone. It didn't work. I deleted Firefox on phone and reinstalled app. The connected phone to computer to re-sync. Could not get anything to work using"I have an account" tab so opened up another sync account. It didn't work. I deleted app again and tried again and used a third sync account to sync phone with computer. I got nowhere. Completely frustrated with three sync accounts and none working.
    Need help to delete all accounts and start over. Can't seem to find a way to do this.

    I tried this (opening in Photoshop CS5 and resaving as jpg) as you mention:
    The remedy to this problem has usually been to open the image (the one that is having an identity crisis) in Photoshop or another image editor, and simply resave it. You don't need to edit it or rename it or anything--just open and resave.
    Re-imported and it does work fix (I get picture1 and picture2 instead of  just picture1 for all pictures).
    Having said that, I looked at all the file properties I could for:
    picture1.jpg (original)
    picture1.jpg (resaved in CS5)
    To see what changed. All are properties are identical (color depth, pixel size, etc.) except that resaved image is ~20% larger (I saved max file size jpg in CS5).
    So original is ~6MB
    resaved jpg is ~8MB
    So the question - why can't CS5 premiere import these directly (with resaving?) and what is working with the resave that locks up the first time?
    These pictures are straight from a Canon 50D, with no editing or resaving - dumped off camera to computer.  I can reproduce this error 100% of the time (new project, new folder, import 2 pics) so it isn't something goofy with the way I'm importing - 100% how premiere is handling this.
    Very disappointed that I now need to open/resave/rerender each of ~1100 images to simply use them.  Given that these jpgs are being produced by a mainstream camera with support image format.
    Any thoughts?

    I have to desagree its not normal !!! be advised

    Open up activity monitor and under all process, see how much dock is using.  highlight it and hit quit process.
    since you're already at activity monitor, hit quit process on anything else using more than 10% of your CPU's resources.
    see if your Retina runs cooler once you've done that.
