Genius doesn't work for any songs
When I want to start genius of any song, there always shows either "this song does not have enough related sons to create a Genuis playlist" or "Genius is unavailable for the song" even for the "most famous songs". Now I am so frustrated that I never know what this product really does. Does anybody has the same problem?

Genius doesn't work for newly added songs
I've noticed lately that Genius Playlists don't seem to work for anything I've added within the last 6 months or so. I get a message saying that a playlist can't be made, and a suggestion to pick a different song.
It seems like at a certain point, anything I added to my Library from that point forward stopped being Genius-able. I've updated it from the Store menu. I've even disabled it and re-enabled it.
These are not super obscure tracks... Ben Folds, Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens...
Any thoughts? The only weird thing that I can think to mention is that I moved my iTunes library to a shared folder a while back so that my wife could access the same Library from her OS X account. Installer doesn't work for any application
The installer app itself is not working on my mac (Macbook Pro, running Version 10.8.5), and it doesn't work regardless of the software that I'm trying to install.
I get the following error message:
Installer cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure Installer works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.
Any help/suggestions?
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any lines that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

I just downloaded the newest version of iTunes (for windows) and all of my saved Genius playlists disappeared. In addition I can't start Genius at all right now. I tried updating it but it still won't start. Any thoughts?
With iTunes 11 on PCs the drop-down menus are hidden by default - control-B should get the menus to show

Bounce Doesn't Work for One Song
For some strange reason when I bounce one particular song as a wav. file, all I get is a bunch of digital noise part way through and silence for the rest. For all other songs bounce seems to work flawlessly. The settings are the same each time I bounce.
I am new to Logic and I wonder if there is something that I can check to see why this song isn't able to be bounced like the others.

PaulLooks like some plugin causes that... First bypass all processing plugins in the project or at least these which are on the "Bounced" Master channel if any. Start with the "Third Party" plugins - they are the first which can cause such fantom bouncing.

I still cannot get an Unread Mail count in the Dock even after installing the the Nov. 7 Mavericks update. I deleted my Gmail account from my Mac, so I know that's not a problem. I checked the Mail preferences, and thay is configured correctly. Any suggestions?

Nevetheless why does Apple prodcue "updated " software which isnt properly comptiable or tested; with the result that it now doesnt work well with Gmail when the prevoius version worked fine. You would think an update would at least work with Gmail as well as the prevsoius version did. G mail is very widely used, so they, Apple, and probably Google too are shooting themselves in the foot if they can't make the software compitable, -
I bought an external hard drive for backups to use with Time Machine, but however when I try to connect it with the other windows laptop it doesn't work ? intact it doesn't work on any other device except my MAC ?
Do not worry about it.
Time Machine needs that your external drive is formatted in HFS+, or better known as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". This filesystem is used by Apple on Macs and Windows cannot read or write drives formatted with this filesystem, being this the reason why all your devices do not read the external drive except your Mac.
You can only use your external drive to make Time Machine drives. If you store anything different, you may damage the Time Machine structure, so it is better not to use it as a drive to store other data. Instead, get another external drive to do it or create a second partition on the external drive formatted in FAT32 by using Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU3.html FAT32 can be read by Windows PCs -

Go to the Help menu in Photoshop and select the System Info menu item. Copy all that information and paste all of it here MINUS your serial number.
Yes, Photoshop can delegate a lot of the computing tasks to the GPU on your graphics card. You may have to disable that feature in Photoshop Preferences > Performance. -
SPRunConversionVersion7.0.119:Doesn't Work for Account without any ratetype

And the SPRUNCONVERSION doesn't work for accounts without any ratetype : value in the dimension is in blanck.
I though that it was supposed to work like this :
"The stored procedure SPRUNCONVERSION scans all records found in the selected region of data and translates them according to the RATETYPE property assigned to the ACCOUNT specified in each record, based on the following mechanism:
All ACCOUNTS with no RATETYPE (ratetype = blank) will be translated with a factor of 1

The inbox for Mac Mail lists every incoming message twice. When I delete a message it deleted both entries. I have tried the solution in "help" and it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

I transferred my files from a G4 to a new macbook pro, but I can't access my old songs in itunes. I clicked on library in itunes and get the mac page to access mp3 and acc files but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?
They maybe corrupt, try transferring again from the g4. If iTunes is giving you an error then you need to authorize your computer with the same iTunes account as previously. Also, you could try exporting your iTunes library via iTunes on the g4.

Pickup Clock doesn't work for markers. Any alternatives?

It seems that Pickup clock doesn't work for markers (I guess markers are not considered an "event.") Is there a way to move markers as quickly as I do "event" data with pickup clock; e.g. a key command that allows you to write the location start time of your markers? Or even better, a way to move all data within locators to different song positions quickly?
I'm scoring a film and trying to break down my master "spotting" session (in which I placed markers at the beginning of each cue) into separate files. Moving "events" is easy, as I just separate at the marker using "cut at spl" select all following, move SPL to bar 1, and use pickup clock. However, no "global track" data seems to move via pickup clock. Is there an easier way to achieve my goal?

YES!! This would be AMAZING if I could do this easily. As a work around I change the actual movie and of the dialog / sound FX tracks, which can take some time to get them correct and leaves you with multiple song files. It would be much easier if there was a way to grab everything within your Left and Right Locators, and be able to move it around, copy and paste, etc.
I tried experimenting with Split/Cut/Insert Time and a segment of regions which included some volume/fader changes - no dice. Logic can copy automation vertically track to track but not in a Linear way.. though I may be speaking in complete ignorance.
I'm going to read up on Split/Cut Time as well, as this maybe the key. As for your automation issues, I know logic will not copy / paste automation when there is no "node," (i.e. if you are cutting on bar 5, but the last node was on bar 3 and the next on bar 7, it will not "go back to 3" to get the proper levels) so in the past I have placed nodes on the beginning and end of the section I want to copy, and the automation then copied fine. Of course if you have a lot of automation, it can be a PITA to place nodes in each track, but it does seem to work. Hope that helps! -

Thanks, but, using the "free" version of Reader, there is no opportunity to open nor import the xml data - the menu options do not exist - there is no import listed.
If we try to open the xml file directly, then we get an error - something to the effect of "unsupported file type, or the file is corrupted".
I just noticed in my Pro version that there is the command File ->Form Data ->Import Data to Form... command. Is this what you are referring to?
What do you recommend? Perhaps the easiest thing to do would be to purchase a few copies of Acrobat Pro for the reservations people to use? I was hoping that the free version of reader would do it, but perhaps not?

Certainly I realized that Apache Sling JCR Resource Resolver doesn't work for the anchor tags which is been rendered through jquery or javascript.
e.g.
In Felix Console , in Apache Sling JCR Resource Resolver configuration I have added following mapping.
/content/myproject/-/
So If any anchor tag is there like <a href="/content/myproject/en.html"> click me </a> then it will be mapped to "/en.html" automatically.
But the problem is there in following scenario.
I have an anchor tag as follows.
<a href="#" id="test"> click here </a>
And I am assigning the href to anchor through JQUERY.
<script>
$("#test").attr("href","/content/myproject/en.html");
</script>
Ideally this should have been mapped to "/en.html".
But it is not mapping to "/en.html". It still shows "/content/myproject/en.html".
How to resolve this.

SaiIn a servlet you have access to the resourceResolver so if you know which attributes contain links then it's relatively easy to apply resourceResolver.map to those links.
Your challenge is clearly how do you know which attributes are links and which aren't. Its is the same challenge that makes parsing the response and rewriting it on the way out difficult - the JSON doesn't have any semantic meaning so how do identify which attributes require rewriting. There really is no good answer ot that question in my experience - all the options have down sides.
Create some convention - all attributes matching this pattern X get mapped before being converted to JSON (could be attributes whose name ends in link, or it could a convention applied to the value of the attribute - if the attribute is a string that starts with /content apply the resource resolver mapping. In this case you have train your developers to follow this convention which is the down side.
Create some configurable list of attribute names that require mapping. This is brittle, requires training and is easy to break.
Implement a client side version of the resource resolver mapping. It wouldn't be as full proof as server side mapping (because that takes into account but you could make it work for simple logic like stripping of /content/site/en. If ou are just trying to solve the simple version of this issue - stripping off the top of the repository path this might be your best option.
Not worry about it and set up Apache 301 redirects that catch any long URLs and redirect them to short URLs (so configure apache to look for any URL matching /content/site/en and strip off /content/site/en and do a 301 redirect to the shortened URL. You end up with a lot of extra HTTP request because of all the 301s but it would work (I wouldn't recommend this option - but it is possible). -
Scanning in Mavericks? I can no longer use the scanning function in my HP Officejet 4500.

Today, I followed your other advice, and deleted the printer, deleted the /Library/Printer/hp folder, downloaded the entire set of driver, re-installed the printer twice, once with the driver, once with Bonjour.
The Bonjour Printer has the scan option active, but it is doesn't work (refer to above.), it is called M1217nfw
The Apple Driver Printer doesn't show the scan option at all, it is called M1217nf (as on the http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#HP list.) This model number doesn't exist, as far as I can tell.
Still, everything works perfectly in Snow Leopard, for a MF printer that has been manufactured years after Snow Leopard was released.
Why going up in software version means going backwards in compatiblity for brand new product is really the question that puzzles me here.

Problem downloading windows support software -- boot camp
Attempting to download windows support software on MacBook Air 13.3" running version 10.7.4. The download is just hanging up. I was able to install Windows 7 with the boot camp and now don't have any drivers in the windows environment.
