Genius keeps me logged in. how do i reset so it ask just for password for downloads

I recently just got my Ipad and then I clicked on genius. now it keeps my password on so that unlimited purchases can be made.  before if you just have my acct name and then would ask for the password for each purchase. how do I reset this. I have to manually log out of genius for it to stop the purchase.
I tried the general tools for security. How do i  put back that feature?

I ended up using the Settings app. I did a General>Reset>Reset All Settings. It does wipe most of your settings though but Genius for Apps is still off and when I purchase an app, I do get prompted for the password. Maybe someone can come up with a more targetted solution. Doing a hard reset did not help.

cant update apps on my mac or iphone4. asks for password for another account i had on a dell notebook. either i forgot the pass word or its not taking it  . i can download apps and music.  how can i update apps on my mac and iphone 4?

I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.

On My wifes computer when I go to setup a password, keychain dosen't start up and dosent offer to generate a password.
Keychain is turned on, on this computer also.
we both are current with Maverick 10.9.2
anybody know how to make her computer automatically ask to generate passwords etc?

    Hi Dave n Laura!
If you are having an issue with your iCloud Keychain, you may want to use the troubleshooting steps in the following article to help you address this issue:
    iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Keychain
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4644
Safari isn't automatically filling in account names and passwords on some web sites.
Devices using iOS 7.0.3 or later:
Go to Settings> Safari > Passwords & AutoFill and make sure that these two settings are turned on:
    Names and Passwords
    Always Allow
Return to your Home screen and open Safari. If Safari is black or dark instead of white or gray, Private Browsing is turned on. Safari doesn't save account names and passwords when Private Browsing is turned on. To turn off Private Browsing:
On iPad, tap the the plus + symbol in the upper-right corner of the Safari page, then tap Private in the lower-left corner.
On iPhone and iPod touch, tap in the lower-right corner of the Safari page, then tap Private in the lower-left corner.
Macs using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later:
Choose to Safari > Preferences, then click Passwords.
Make sure that that these two checkboxes are selected:
    AutoFill user names and passwords.
Allow AutoFill even for websites that request passwords not be saved
Open the Safari menu and make sure there's not a checkmark next to Private Browsing. Safari doesn't save account names and passwords when Private Browsing is turned on.
I get a message saying that Safari will not save the password on one of the websites I'm using.Safari will not save or autofill account names and passwords on some websites that request that passwords not be saved. To allow Safari AutoFill on those websites:Devices using iOS 7.0.3 or later:
Go to Settings > Safari > Passwords & Autofill.
Turn on Always Allow. You must have a passcode lock on your device to enable this feature.
Macs using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later:
Choose Safari > Preferences, then click Passwords.
Select “Allow AutoFill even for websites that request passwords not be saved”. You must set a screen lock before your Mac can use this feature.
Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,

  • HT1349 Last week I was prompted to do an update on my MacBook Pro which I did & now different things keep popping up asking for passwords for a keychain & it won't go away. I don't know what these are & I don't know how to access them. Help me please

Last week I was prompted to do an update on my Mac Book Pro which I did. Ever since I did the update a box keeps popping up asking for login info for my keychains & they won't go away. I have no clue what these keychains are & I don't know how to find them & know the passwords for each of them. Plus now I don't get my email on here either. Please help me...

Outside of the contact number for that you've already used I don't know another way of direct contact. Here are some things that they may or may not of had you try that might help you. If you will go to the settings app and pick general on the right-hand side you will see accessibility. Within that you can adjust a text size make the text bowl you can also increase the contrast. You can also adjust the brightness and control panel.
As for Siri again in the settings app under general you should see Siri on the right-hand side with the switch to turn it on. If that is turned on and you're still having issues
    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

  • Keep getting a request for password "for the CalDAV account for my email account when I log in my iPhone password. ????

I keep getting a request "for the CalDAv account" when I log in using my iPhone password on my iPhone.  Just started happening.   ????

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • IPAD Facetime keeps asking for password for wrong Apple ID, how do I fix this?

I have an iPad.  It does not have a data plan.  It can only access the internet via a wireless network.
Every time I turn it on, the FaceTime program asks for a password for an Apple ID account that I no longer use.
I have tried to reset the password, but it keeps saying to "enter a valid email account".  Guess what, the email account IS VALID!
Also, I have asked to be sent an email to reset the password, and I don't get the email.
There does not seem to be a way to change the iPad to get out of this loop, and I cannot do anything else on the iPad until I answer the password, which I don't know.
I am beginning to lose faith in Apple products.  Apple ID's are needlessly complicated.  I should be able to merge two Apple ID accounts, but Apple won't let me.
For iCloud, it seems I need a separate account for everyone and every device in my family.  Sync has already hopeless screwed up my address book on my cell phone, when it synced to my wife's account without me knowing it.
Surely Apple can make this easier, or perhaps not?
Of course I bought apple care, but they don't have 24 hour service, so as of right now, it was a waste of my hard earned money.

    Start with the Settings app
Settings > iTunes and App Store > tap on your Apple ID and then tap on Sign Out
Then sign in with your correct Apple ID and password.

  • Keep Airplay from asking for password for same device.

I am currently at a friends place who has a airplay divice in its network. For some reason my computer keeps asking me every 15 minutes for the password for this device. This is quite anoying as I can't keep it from happining and have no idea what is causing it. The ownly programs that are running at the moment are Safari, Fantastical, Dropbox and Divvy.
How do I keep my computer from trying to connect to an airplay device on its own.
    Thanks for your help.

    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mail/4.0/en/9959.html
This kb refers to mail asking for a password, but the fix is what you want - use keychain access to set your login keychaing to unlock on login and to NOT lock automatically again.  That way, when you login with your password, your login (main or primary) keychain will also be unlocked and will stay unlocked as long as you are logged in.

  • HT5312 how do i reset my security answers to allow me to download off a laptop for the first time?

i am trying to download a film for the first time off a laptop but it's asking me for a answers to my security questions which i've forgot.
    how do i reset them?

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address then see if the instructions on this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551

  • How do i reset my time capsule without a password?

    Hi.
I just bought my Time Capsule. I started it up and registered it and so on.
Then I used the network to backup my computer, but because of the power got shut off during the night
it stopped backing up my computer.
Now I wanna backup my computer, but it wont let me because it wants a password.
I didnt give it a password, but just to make sure I tried every password I could think of, but nothing.
No I would like to ask:
How do I reset/format my Time Capsule with out using a password?
I tried in disc utilities but it doesnt come up (im using an ethernet cable) and nothing.
    Please help me!
    Kind Regards
    Emil

    That is strange.
The default password is public.. just try that.
If not a soft reset, and it should reset just the passwords.
Otherwise do a full or factory reset.. it will not erase the disk.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3728
You can do that from inside the airport utility .. not from disk utility.. but use vs 5.6 if you are on Lion OS.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Download the regional version.. ?? If that is required.

  • How do I stop the message "user name or password for iCloud is incorrect" from popping up 2 times in a row when i try to get mail from other accounts? thank you in advance

How do I stop the message "Cannot get mail. The user name or password for iCloud is incorrect" from popping up 2-4 times consecutively every time I choose MAIL on my iPhone 4,  7.1.1  I have to select "OK" 2-4 times each time before I can read other email accounts.  I used to have an "@me.com" account which I think was automatically changed to an "@icloud.com account."  I opened a new iCloud.com account yesterday because I could not figure out how to get in the old ones.  I want to delete the original @me & original iCloud account.  When I try to delete the account, they tell me my DOB is wrong. I just want those pop ups to stop.  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Suzanne,
It sounds like you’re running into a password issue with an older Apple ID that’s setup on your iPhone, which is preventing you from removing an iCloud account from your device. Take a look at the article linked below, it outlines all of the possible ways to change an Apple ID password.
If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
After you enter your Apple ID, there are three ways you can change your password:
Answer your security questions. Use these steps if you know the answers to your security questions.
Use email authentication. We'll send you an email that you can use to change your password.
Use two-step verification. If you set up two-step verification, you can use it to change your password. You just need your recovery key and a trusted device.
    So long,
    -Jason

  • IPhone 4s keeps asking for password for voicemail. this is a replacement, and I never set up a password before, and don't want to

I took my iPhone 4s that I got for Mothers day of this year to the Apple store, because it would not activate after I restored it. So I have this new phone, did a restore from backup, and all is good. Except it keeps asking me for a password for my voicemail. Even if I am not in voicemail. Never had that problem before, and I did not set one up in my other phone, and do not want to set it up in this one. I tap on cancel and it goes away. But these little things really really bother me. I even have an issue with the iTunes Apple store asking me for my password every time I want to update. Sorry, it just bugs me. I can understand if I am buying something, but updates? And free apps? Anyway, if I have to I will keep tapping Cancel, but I never had an issue with my last iPhone 4s. Thank you.

For some reason I cannot post a new question so adding to this one.
I have the same problem with the voicemail password.  I have a voicemail password, I don't need to reset it - but I want to get rid of it.  Did you get a satisfactory answer?
VERY irritating to suddenly have to put in a password to hear voicemails.  What is up with iPhone?  I hope someone can help me.
