Genius Recommendations & Itune Store

Is iTunes store really slow at responding for others at the moment? Also Genius is one but the Recommendations are not working - sometimes updating but exceedingly slow. Others having problems at all? Maybe it is down at the moment?

While reviewing the Genius Recommendations, iTunes is not letting me listen to the sample song. I click on the play icon and nothing happens.

From my knowledge the computer just Syncs to the phone not iCloud..
It can update & restore etc..
iCloud is just a back up service for the info on your phone..
Have you tried doing a Factory Settings via iTunes..Then a restore.

ITunes displays Genius "Accessing iTunes store..." message continuously

My iTunes (v 11.3.1 ) continuously displays the message "Genius, Accessing iTunes store..."
I'm able to access the iTunes store and complete purchase transactions so it's odd that the Genius function cannot reach the iTunes store.
Any ideas about what's causing this and how to fix it?

ITunes Store won't work

My iTunes store won't load.
It used to load.
When my sister got her iPod a long time ago, she set up an account to buy music from the itunes store. It worked then.
I don't know what's happened since then, but we don't know the password, or account name.
But it doesn't matter, because when I try to log on with this account (which I made to post this) it gives me the same message as when I click on Genius or iTunes store...
Message:
"_*iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store.*_
Make sure your connection is active then try again. "
I've looked at the troubleshooting options, and flushed my DNS. Deleted Norton completely, same with another antivirus, and windows firewall is disabled, and allows iTunes.
Can anyone give me any help? I have an acer computer running Windows Vista Home Premium. I've got the latest (9.0.1?) itunes, that I just downloaded. But even before that, I had between 7-8 and it would NOT work.

Problems connecting to the iTunes Store often stem from issues with the Windows firewall or a firewall in a router, a privacy filter (such as McAfee Internet Privacy Service or Norton Internet Security), an antivirus/antispyware utility, or a download accelerator. Start here:

for some basic tips to start isolating the cause of the problem. What you need to do is temporarily disable any such service and see if that fixes the problem. If so, then if it's a firewall/Internet filter that's causing the problem and you'll need to set the offending service to allow iTunes to connect to the iTunes Store.

Baber pole keeps spinning. Genius - Accessing ITunes store never completes.
cannot get to IStore. Also, bought new IPod Classic. will ny sync.
Unloaded, rebooted, reloaded 11.0.5. to no avail.

I've fixed mine! From a little help from an apple adviser. You might want to clear your caches before doing this - under iTunes preferences. Open iTunes - go to the top bar, click the 'Store' drop down menu >
Then click 'De-authorise this Computer' >
Enter your password etc >
Then click 'Store' again then click 'Re-authorise this Computer'>
Enter password etc>
Restart the Mac>
Open up iTunes should be fine - worked for me anyway Good Luck

In iTunes 11 how do you get Genius recommendations from the iTunes store

In iTunes 11 how do you get Genius recommendations from the iTunes store. It would appear that I can only get Genius recommendations from my own library. This was easy in iTunes 10 and enabled me to find lots of good artists I had never heard of.

Basically it seams they got rid of the whole side bar concept of things to make it all more streamline, understandable but I know atleast for myself that genius sugestion for any song is how I found new artists and songs I never knew existed.
If you go to the Album the go to "In the Store" it will give you a recomendation for that album... not exaclty what you might be looking for but atleast its something, if anyone else has a way to get genius sugestions for individual songs I am all ears and would love to hear about it.

Don't worry about it I've decided to move on and get and android phone instead. Your stuff may be very easy to use and this would be ok if it just worked but when it doesn't I want to be able to take control of my hardware and software to make the changes that I need to to get it to work the way I want.

Genius Recommendations in the iTunes store does not show the TV tab anymore.

Recently the Genius recommendations in the iTunes store stopped even displaying the "TV" tab. I still see the music and movies tabs (and the recommendations in them). However, there is no tab for TV Shows. About the same time (maybe simultaneously not positive though) I stopped seeing the quick link (upper right hand side of screen) to get to the TV Shows portion of my wish list. For the wish list I can still scroll down to the TV section and click "see more" to get to the full list. However in the Genius recommendations even the "show more" doesn't give me any TV Shows.
Has anybody ever seen this before? I'm at a loss after some quick searching on the web.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

i can't find genius reccommended purchases on the iTunes store after upgrading to iTunes 9 where did apple move this feature to?

If at the store home, it's right about halfway down the length of the scroll bar, or there abouts. It will say Genius Recommendations and "see all >>" right beside is.. Generally, it's about the 3rd or 4th row down of the listed items, not counting the large header image..

I'm trying to get used to the new iTunes. In the older version, when I looked at my Library of songs Genius provided recommendations on the right. I don't see that anymore. How can I see a list of Genius recommendations for a given song? Thank you.

The wish list link is at the top right corner of the main store page under the quick links below the Welcome. The down-pointing arrow at the right of every buy button in music and video is the button to gift the item, add the item to your wish list, copy a link to the item, etc. You can buy your whole wish list at once, or buy individual items, or click the X at the right of the item when you mouse over it to delete it from your wish list. The shopping cart didn't work that well anyways.
