Genres not listing songs on IPHONE

I have a genre called 70's music.  When I click this genre on my IPHONE, it states "No Music".  However, if I search by a song name that is listed in ITUNES in this genre, the song is on my phone.  I want to be able to just listen to this genre, when I want.  Does anyone know why it is not placing the songs in the correct genre?  They are listed correctly in ITUNES

Im having the same problem and have tried everything to fix it but still no luck... =/

iPhone won't sync with iTunes and It says iTunes can not add songs to iPhone because no songs in iTunes library can be copied to iPhone. Help!!!! What should I do. I tried everything!
I need to add my music to my iPhone from iTunes but its not working!

First off try and go into your IPhone manually through My Computer and cut photos or anything you can through the device to be able to free space up so that you can continue to do what you want to do with ITunes. This way you will be able to create a backup or do what you have to do to manage your information, photos and texts on your device a little better.

  • ITunes will not sync songs onto iPhone, troubleshooting methods not working

Simply put, songs will not download onto my iPhone.  I have tried every method that I could think of to solve this:
    -restarting phone and mac
    -updating iTunes
-taking off all the music from the phone and redownloading
-rechecking the little check thing that says I want that song
    -restoring my phone
-going onto the individual tab to sync and syncing from there(which leads to a whole other problem, because that deletes songs(story for another thread))
-manually dragging songs onto my phone icon dropbox thingy
-making sure the songs are the proper files
... and still nothing has worked.
When I go on my phone menu when its plugged into iTunes, and then go to the 'On Device' section, it shows that the songs are there, but they are faded out with this little circle thing next to them(I don't know if this is significant).
I'm at my wits end, I just don't know what to do.  I don't understand why iTunes is refusing to do something as simple as sync songs.
Any ideas? Thank you for any help you can provide!

    UPDATE:
I finally figured it out (though I'm not sure this counts as 'figuring it out').
So, what worked for me was unchecking the check box thing next to the song and syncing the phone.  After the sync--behold!--, the songs were in my phone.  I don't know if this is another glitch or not, but I'm running with it.
I wanted to post the answer so that other people who may have had this issue can hopefully resolve it.

  • ITunes 11 does not load songs onto iPhone 4S from XP notebook

I converted songs on CDs we own to MP3 and loaded them onto my wife's XP notebook. iTunes 11 found them and built a library from them. Synchronizing her iPhone 4S through her XP computer does not load the songs onto her phone. When I first synchronized my iPhone 4S through iTunes 11 on my Windows 7 computer, iTunes found MP3 music files on my computer, built a library, and uploaded them to my iPhone without any prompts from me. Why can I not get songs in MP3 to load from my wife's computer to her iPhone?

  • Not listing artists on iPhone or iPad

Since I upgraded both the iPhone (5) and iPad (3) to iOS6 the Music app only shows 6 artists out of hundreds.
I can see all the albums and tracks, but no artists.
I've now just tried to use the remote iPhone app to play some music on the ATV3 and the selection of artists on there are all listed under 'A', except the 6 I see in my Music app!
That can't be coicidence. I've been trying to spot a pattern between the 6 and all the others, but cannot spot one.
I reset the iPhone completely (due to another issue) and did not restore from backup - totally new prep and it does the same thing.
I have 15,000 tracks matched and I rencently added my Macbook Pro iTunes to use Match and that shows all my music fine. (I use my Mac Mini as my iTunes hub).
Aside from scrapping the Match account and rebuilding (painful!) I'm at a complete loss what to try next.

    Hi,
I had previously tried that, but only deleting the SQLlit databases.
This time I tried to delete the whole iTunes_Control folder as suggested, hard reset.
It resynched with iCloud and now I had neither artists names or album names.
As an added bonus iTunes no longer recognised the device and wanted to set it up as a new phone - good job I had backed up the folder so I could re-insert the iTunes information to sort that little issue out.
I've cancelled my auto renew on Match subscription. If I don't fix it by early December then I'll save my money and forget the idea of using it until next year.

  • Playlists not listing correctly on iPhone

I just purchased and set up my iPhone. In iTunes I have my playlists divided into master folders/playlists to make sorting through on my ipod nano easier. This works fine on my ipod nano - for example, I have a master folder/playlist called "new albums" and in that playlist I have a number of albums. On my ipod nano these appear as "drill-downable" sub menus. For example "music - playlists - new albums - Cold Play Viva La Vida - all songs on that album". On my iPhone, "new albums" does not appear as a sub menu. Therefore all playlists from all master folders/playlists are mixed in with each other (for example all albums/playlists that appear in my "new albums" playlist are mixed in with all albums/playlists that appear in my "favorite albums" playlist. Any thoughts on how to get the master folders/playlist sub menus to appear?

I have just started to have trouble playing my playlists on the iPhone. It started to shuffle them and when I turned shuffle off, it would only play one song over and over again.  You have to open the iPod and manually advance to the next song.  That is obviously unsatifactory.  I downloaded the update on the iTunes software today.  That did not correct the problem.  I also restored the settings on the phone.  It wtill will not play a playlist in the order I have it.  There is some problem here.  I would also be happy to hear a reply on this issue.

  • ITunes sync does not delete songs from iPhone

I've an older iPhone 4 with only 8GB of memory.  (also another iPhone 5s/16G, and iPad/64G and a iPod Classic with 160GB).
The IP4 is always short of memory, so I rotate songs based on a small smart playlist based on "least recently played."
I've NEVER used iTunes Match, or iTunes on the cloud or iTunes Genius, and I've always synced these devices using the same iTunes Library.
Nine albums weren't rotating off the iPhone, so I turned off all music syncs and expected the albums to go away.   They remained.
Adding the albums back to the sync had the strange effect of duplicating all the songs in the album.  Removing the albums left the ghosts behind.
Any suggestions on how to remove these 9 albums / 85 songs?

    Hello there, Jon.
Although the the error message in the title of the following Knowledge Base article may make it seem unrelated to your situation, it addresses issues that arise with orphaned files that may still be on your device:
iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1503
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    Restore using iTunes.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

My iPhone 4S only has the Cannon listed when I go to print. Any deas as to what is going on and how to correct???

There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage.   There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon.

  • "BTWiFi" not listed on my iPhone 5

When I go into Settings and then WiFi should I see BTWiFi listed when at home? All I see is the BT hub.

Can you see BTWifi listed on other devices? If not do a factory reset of the Homehub by pressing a pin into the recessed button on the rear of the hub and see if it appears.
If you use this link it will let you know if you are registered with BTWifi. You must use your primary email address. It and your password are case sensitive.

Select you device from the left sidebar of iTunes and navigate to the Photos tab at the top. Do you have the Sync Photos With checkbox checked and set to iPhoto?

  • Smart playlist not showing up on iPhone after iTunes upgrade to 9.1

    Hello,
I just upgraded to iTunes 9.1 and notice that one of my smart playlists is not longer showing up in my list of playlists. The music is all in there, and the playlist is also listed when I plug my iPhone into my macbook (under Devices). It's just not listed on the iphone itself, so I can't play those songs. What's going on? Has anyone ever seen this before?

It's not as simple as that. I hope Apple fixes this ASAP. I have only 7 playlists I use. I use so few because they are all smart and update automatically. Equally, this problem appeared to pop up just recently, so I don't know what triggered it. I even went so far as to assume that my library was corrupted. Since nothing I tried worked, I tried deleting my library. Headaches!!! I recovered my music, but all my ringtones were gone. So were all the apps that synced to my iPhone (my music goes on my iPod, my apps and data to my iPhone). The apps on the iPhone recovered back to my iTunes library, but ONLY the apps on my iPhone. I had some apps I had paid for that I did not currently use. I guess they are gone. Even after all that, the smart playlist problem persists.
Aaaaanyway, my experience was a little different. Even though I haven't reproduced the behaviour exactly, it is my impression that the last smart playlist modified is the one that doesn't show up on the iPod. As a thought experiment, created a new playlist called Test and duplicated one of my seven playlists. I synced, and the 7th playlist now shows up on my iPod! The 8th one, called Test, only shows on iTunes, but not on my iPod. Since all 7 playlists are now displaying on my iPod, I will leave things alone until Apple fixes this latest unanticpated design characteristic.

  • HT2905 How to remove duplicate songs from the iPhone when the duplicates are not listed in the iTunes library on the computer.

How can I remove duplicate songs from the iPhone4. The duplicates are not listed in the computer iTunes library.

The simplest thing may be to back-up and then restore the iPhone. If you don't fancy that then remove all media that is currently synced to it, then double check and manually remove any media that remains on the device, before reselecting your sync options.
If you've been manually managing the device and your library doesn't contain copies of all your media then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
