Geotag for photos shows up in the wrong arena

I took some photos in HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA but it says they were taken in Tacoma Dome in Washington. I have an iPhone 5. It seems like all my other photo geotags are right. It doesn't bother me that much but I wanted to report the glitch.

Most likely because your phone used WiFi at the Pavilion & the router still had its location as Tacoma. This is a common problem if the database is not updated showing the router's current location. I see this all the time when folks move.

Several of our iPhone users in the UK reported the problem this morning, and as the Apple fan in the office I've got the job of resolving the issue
The original Excel was an old .xls file, but I have saved it as a .xlsx and the problem still appears
I haven't spoken with our developer yet, but I assume he has created the Excel file using some programming tools rather that directly using Excel
In the meantime I have created a simply spreadsheet with 8 cells contain values
In the first 4 cells, I have formatted them using Currency, and have used the currencies USD, DEM, GBP and CHF
In the remaining cells I have formatted them using the Accounting option, using the same currencies
When I review the spreadsheet on the iPhone (or iPad), the first 4 remain the same yet the last four all show the £ symbol
I have now changed the Region Format of the iPhone to United States, and when viewing on the iPhone the bottom 4 values are now all showing the $ sign!
If I had created the spreadsheet I would have put the Currency code in a seperate cell and purely used a numeric format for the number, and there would be no issue. That might be the only solution
Yes, the Director has the full MS Excel app on his Windows 8 device, but I can't expect all of our clients to go and do the same, in business many of them will have the iPhone
We may have to change the way we produce the report because of Apple's failings here, and it's not the first time that we have had to change something because Apple devices can't display them properly

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
*1. Permissions in the Library* : Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
*2. Minor Database corruption*: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
*3. A Damaged Photo*: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
*4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
*5. A corrupted preference file*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Not all of my Photostream photos show up in the iPhoto Library

I have my iPhone WiFi-enabled so that photos are usually uploaded automatically to my iMac before I sync. They show up in Photostream but not all the photos show up in the iPhoto Library. When I go to edit one in Photostream, it takes me to a copy in the Library, but that's the only way I can locate it in the library - the missing photos don't show up in either Events or Photos.
I'm concerned that I'm losing some shots as Photostream rotates thru the most recent 1000 pics.
I'm on recent Mac OS and iOS, and have had Photostream enabled for almost a year...

Check the sort options in the Events mode. Sort by Date - descending so the newest events will be at the top of the window. There's be a single event for each month titled like htis: Mar 2014 Photo Stream. All new photos added to the Photo Stream from your mobile devices in March will be imported into that event.
You can try the following to "jump start" the Photo Stream:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Stream preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively.

This also happens when in in using iphoto'11 i share/email a photo to myself and the phot shows up sideways but is in a correct position prior to emailing.

I recently tried sending myself an email through Thunderbird to another email account to see if that was the case, but the email came in with a font so tiny that it was unreadable. I had chosen a font type and size (arial 10) and just coming into my outlook inbox was virtually unreadable.
And referring to the person I work with, she doesn't have problems getting anyone else's emails, just ones I send from Thunderbird.

Deleting Photos in slide show modus trashes the wrong photos

In my Library are 13500 photos. Some good, many not so good. I find it comfortable to delete some of them by browsing a slide show, but when looking into the trash I was very surprised that I found photos that I for sure not deleted even not viewed...
one example: let´s say I want to delete photo "01.jpg" and photo "girl45-1" (it depends not on the names).... and I delete them by pressing the "delete-key" on the keyboard...
In the trash bin in iPhoto I found: photo "01.jpg and "car.jpg" (just an example)

The only way to remove Scene Menu button from Disc Menus is to physically remove it from the template by editing it (They're PSD files) in Photoshop Elements.
As for photos, DO NOT use photos from that 7.2 megapixel camera at full resolution, niagara. It's a sure recipe for disaster. RAther, per the FAQs at the top of this forum, rez those photos all down to no larger than 1000x750 pixels in size.

That done, you can get your photos to fill your screen one of two ways:
a) Leave the Default to Frame Size option checked in your preferences. The only case in which this won't work is if you're using 4:3 photos in a 16:9 widescreen project.
b) If this is the case, go to Edit/Preferences and uncheck Default to Frame Size BEFORE you import that photos into your project. (It won't work if you do it after.) Then, after placing each photo on your timeline, right-click on each, select Show Properties and, in Properties, open Motion and set Scale to 85%. Note that, because your photos and the widescreen have different aspect ratios, you will lose some of the vertical off the tops and bottoms of your photos.
There are many more ways to do it -- but it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

Photos randomly showing up in the wrong albums

Why, all of a sudden, when I sync my Ipad 2 to my computer, are some of the photos in my albums randomly going into the wrong albums? They are correct on the computer... but when on the IPad some of the photos from one album will be in the wrong album. How can I correct this?

Hasn't anyone experienced odd things happen with overflow leaders?

244 random photos suddenly appeared in the wrong folder

I recently imported 8 photos into Lightroom 5.7 using the "2015-05-25 Folder Name" naming system, and I saw the 8 imported photos in the folder. No problems. However, after reopening Lightroom, the folder with 8 photos suddenly has 252 photos. There are 244 random photos from various years and various other folders which are also inside of my main "Photo Library Lightroom" folder. I had been assigning "key wordis" to photos last week, but I am not sure how that could have taken 246 random photos and "shoved" them into the wrong folder. Do I have to manually "refile" the "misfiled" photos, or is there a magic button to get Lightroom to fix this?

Cloud backup restored photos and documnets to the wrong folder and all in one folder

I used the cloud backup to backup and restore my photos and documents because I was told to fix my problem I would have to do a hard reset. When I restored the photos and documents they were all restored to the wrong place and all in one folder. Please help. Is there any way to fix this or is their cloud backup program just stupid and I am screwed?

Let's get to the bottom of this and get your pictures and documents backed up correctly. What phone do you have? Did you restore every all at once? Try removing the files and doing the restore again. Did you do the restore from the phone or desktop app?

Bug: Repeating Google Calendar Events Show Up On The Wrong Days

I've created a Google Calendar event that repeats "Daily," every two days, from 6:00pm to 6:30pm. It shows up fine in my Google Calendar, but the Pre's Calendar puts them on the wrong days. For example, the repeating event that should be scheduled for today shows up tomorrow (offset by +1 day).
I tried turning off network timezones, but the bug remains.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If this is a bug, how can I submit it to Palm?

Some new data:
If I create the repeating event on my Pre, rather than via Google, it shows up on the Pre correctly. However, it only shows up for one day via Google (today); the event is not repeated. When I edit the event in Google, it's setup correctly. I tried saving the event from there, but it doesn't cause Google to recognize it should repeat.
Very frustrating.
Even more new data:
Created yet another event via my Pre instead of via Google. This time Google picked up the correct repeat pattern, and my Pre now shows it on the correct days.
Calendar sync needs serious work, based on my experience. I have issues with Facebook events showing up an hour later than they should, too. Dunno if this has been fixed yet.

Not sure why, but the above success reverted back to being off by one day; temporary success only.

Hi, another quick question: you say you turned off network timezones.... did you make sure that the (now manually set) timezone is correct?
Sounds similar to other issues related to the timezone being off, but usually the appointments were off by hours... not day(s). However if your timezone is set to something really odd and the event you're creating is around midnight (again depends on a few things here), then MAYBE this is it.
If it isn't, one of the support guys will have to chat with you privately about possibly collecting logs, getting more granular details, etc.

Calendar List view shows entries under the wrong date

I just upgraded to iOS4 and finding that my calendar entries are appearing under the wrong date in the calendar list view when I am viewing two calendars.
- List view is ok when viewing 1 calendar
- Day and Month views are ok at all times (ie: viewing single or multiple calendars)
- I have 2 Exchange accounts
- Calendar entries are appearing in the correct order, but under the incorrect date heading.
- When I intially added the Exchange accounts the calendar list view was fine at first (I could see both calendars correctly in list view) but after a short time later it became screwed up.
Anyone else experience this?

Same problem here since my upgrade to iOS4 - but I only noticed today.
I have 3 calendars set up:
Gmail (Exchange)
UK Holidays (iCal)
Birthdays
The exchange calendar is always wrong but the other two are correct when my exchange calendar is switched off.
It has mucked up my scheduling a bit for the next month. I only became suspicious when I noticed the Scottish Bank Holiday Monday at the beginning of August was showing on FRIDAY, 30th of July!

All photos show up as the Preview logo

Every single picture I have shows up as the logo for the Preview program when I browse them using Finder. Is there any way to reset it so I see the photos themselves?

It is strongly recommended that you do not enter the iPhoto library using the finder - there are many proper ways to browse your photos but =directly via the finder is not one

Fonts show up in the wrong colours sometimes

First off, I might have posted this in the wrong category. If that is so, I apologize; I'm new - this is in fact my first post. My problem doesn't seem to fit well in any of the categories in Boot Camp.
I have the following entertaining problem: the font colors are screwy sometimes in Windows. After some experimentation, it seems that Windows is swapping the R and B in the RGB value when displaying anti-aliased text. Red text shows up as blue, blue text shows up as red, yellow ends up a very light blue, and what WordPad calls "Olive" turns blue-green, and so on. I've searched for days, but can't seem to find an answer.
This is on a 2.8Ghz Mac Pro with a 24" Cinema Display and an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT running Windows XP SP2. I also have a 2Ghz Mac Pro connected to two small CRT screens, it has a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT. It does not have this problem. Both computers have the same version of Windows and the same version of the Boot Camp drivers, installed off my Leopard install DVD. I haven't tried swapping the screens as that would be very inconvenient in my situation.
It's had this problem since I installed Windows on it. On Mac OS X, there's no problems, when booting my Boot Camp partition in VMWare it doesn't happen either.
Does anyone know what's going on?

Found an answer to my problem at least. Hopefully this will be of some assistance to others in a similar situation.
Since my computer was using the ATI Radeon 2600 I poked around a bit and found a bootcamp specific driver for the card.

I first ran the Leopard window's driver install (repair mode) to see if that would do the trick. That did not. Then I ran the bootcamp specific drivers from amd. This seems to have straightened out the blue to red and red to blue problem.

In iTunes a bunch of songs show up under the wrong artist no matter what I do

My iTunes library has an odd glitch - there's a bunch of songs that show up under the group "a-ha" despite having nothing to do with a-ha. They don't seem to have anything else in common, either. None of them has an album artist listed and they are all stored the same way on my hard drive (in a folder for the artist and sub-folder for the album). Everything shows up correctly on my iPod, but nothing I can do puts them under the correct artist in iTunes on my desktop. So for example, iTunes doesn't show The Big Bopper as an artist but if I go into Artist: a-ha I find "Hello Baby" as an album and Chantilly Lace is in it. But when I click on info for that track it shows The Big Bopper as the artist, no mention of a-ha in any field I can find. Does anyone have a clue what this is about? I've tried adding the mis-filed artists' folders to the library again but noithing changes.
