German language on WRT54GS web interface

I purchased a used router on EBay. When I went to configure it. I found that language on the interface was German. It was running firmware 105.1. I downloaded firmware version WRT54GSV4_1.06.1_US_code.bin and installed it. It fixed my problem. I now have English on the web interface.

Nice. this is a common problem. so upgrading/reflashing the firmware from linksys US website would fix the problem.

  • Wrt54g web interface pages garbled

    When I browse to the admin interface with IE7 the pages come up with some parts missing or invisible. It is impossible to administer the router with these pages.

    I went to your tech support on this and we determined it was my ZoneAlarm firewall interfering. Shutting down ZA took care of it.
    However, that should not have been necessary. Your router web page is doing something very odd. I tried changing virtually every ZoneAlarm parameter later and could not find any that was involved in this.
    I have no doubt, however, that there was something going on, but my point is that your webpage is unique in setting this off. I strongly suggest you have your engineers look into it rather than telling users that you don't support the use of Internet Explorer!
    Which is basically what you are implying.
    When I have an opportunity I will try accessing the page from another computer that uses a different firewall.

  • Wrt54g v8 web interface does not load properly

    Hi,
    There is a similar thread concerning the v6 web interface, where the background loads, but no text and no links. I also see some data in my case, using a v8 router.
    I do not want to start with a firmware upgrade since I am not sure which version I have, since the interface does not work. The v6 problem seemed to be related to Zone Alarm, but I am not using that. I tried shutting down my firewall - didn't help.
    I am using Vista SP1, tried IE7 and Firefox.
    One thing I did notice was that during router config using the supplied tool there was an error about failing to load a language pack. I wonder if there is anything I can do about that. The original plan was to use the web UI to investigate, but as I said, the web UI won't load properly.
    Thanks

    Insert the CD for the router setup .... do not run the Setup ,,,,,
    Right click & explorer ... it shows folder for language .... open it ... & choose the sorrect language ...

  • WRT54G v6 Web Interface Not Loading Properly

    I just bought a WRT54G v6 router.  When I tried to configure it via the web interface at 192.168.1.1, the web page came up, but only partially.  None of the links were visible.  After reading other posts, I tried upgrading to the latest firmware WRT54Gv5v6_v1.02.2_fw.bin via the Management Mode because the normal web mode wasn't accessible.  The upgrade appeared to work, but the following screen was blank instead of saying "Upgrade Success".  I cycled power.  The normal web page showed the new firmware version number, but the page still was missing its links.  I tried the upgrade procedure again with the same results.
    I downloaded the EasyLink Adviser and let it configure the router.  It appears to have been successful.  However, I tried the web interface afterwards, and the page is still not showing the links properly.
    Is my web interface issue an indication of future troubles with the router?  Is there any way to get the interface to work properly?
    I have tried the web interface with both IE and FireFox, and with my firewall/antivirus software turned off.  The Cisco logo indicator is the normal solid amber.  The power light is solid on.  The WLAN/1/Internet indicators are on and blink with net traffic.  I cannot find any other indicators of router trauma other than the web interface.

    Hi there, Lumen!
    Have you tried resetting the router?
    At the back panel of the router, you'll find a reset button on it. Press on it for 30 seconds while the router is on. After doing so, you could let go of the reset button and then take out the router's power cord for like ten seconds and plug it's cord back it. After that time, check if you'll have the proper lights on the router again and see if you'll be able to see the whole router's setup page this time.

  • JES5 Language Localize Problem in Web Interface

    I hope this is the correct forum to ask this question...
    Here's the problem:
    I wanted to make a Dutch version of the Sun Java Communication Express, so I followed all the steps you have to do (create folders, translate all the necessary files, edit .properties files, ... etc). I've also restarted the server after uploading.
    It seems that everything has worked out well, because when I go to my web interface, I can log in. I change the language to Dutch, and logged out.
    Now here's the weird part. When I log in again now, my "Mail" tab stays in English. But when i go to "Calendar", "Options", etc. the interface is show in dutch, as i translated them.
    I've found out that the redirecting url might be wrong, cause the url that show in my browser is: (ip)/uwc/webmail/en/mail.html?lang=en&laurel=on&cal=1
    It doesn't seem normal to me that, in the url, there is still "en" instead of "nl" for dutch. When I change the url manually, that's the only way to show the dutch version of my mail tab.
    So propably the problem is that the url ist being editted after choosing dutch as language(when I choose French, it DOES edit the url to "fr").
    Has anyone got an idea how to fix this?
    Kind regards,
    Andrew

    Shane,
    as I have been updating our own documentation I have also honored your request to update the publically available [ http://msg.wikidoc.info/index.php?title=Add_New_Language_ME Messaging Server wiki].
    For future reference the above link may be more up-to-date then this text.
    How do I add a new language to the Messenger Express interface that is not one of the languages localized by Sun?
    Because Sun does not provide additional localizations beyond those already supplied, you need to do your own translation.
    Start by copying the original files of one of the supported languages to the new language you need to support. In this case I translate from English (language code: en) to Dutch (language code: nl).
    Your Messenger Express may be installed in a different directory, change paths accordingly.
    <tt>
    cp -r /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/en /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl
    </tt>
    Translate the file <tt>/opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl/i18n.js</tt>. It contains most of natural language used in webmail. The files <tt>help.htm</tt> and <tt>help2.htm</tt> contain a lot of help text. I cheated and replaced those files with less extensive useage instructions or just leave the original english and hope the customers don't complain too much.
    For each language already supported and the new one edit the file <tt>i18n.js</tt> and add a localized name for the Dutch language and add Dutch to the supported/available languages in the options page.
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/en/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='English'
    *'i18n['nl']='Dutch'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/es/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='Ingls'
    *'i18n['nl']='Holands'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/config/html/nl/i18n.js
    i18n['en']='Engels'
    *'i18n['nl']='Nederlands'*
    function i18n_preferredlanguagelist()
    var lang_list = new Array('en', *'nl',* 'es')
    </tt>
    The Messenger Express web interface has built in spelling check. The dictionary files come from the ancient/traditional unix ispell and are
    available for download from: http://ficus-www.cs.ucla.edu/geoff/ispell-dictionaries.html
    Download the Dutch affix rule file and the actual dictionary files, and use the buildhash command to make a hash file Messenger Express can use. When
    copying this hash files be warned that you can't copy it from x64 to sparc (big/little endian) architectures.
    <tt>wget ftp://ftp.tue.nl/pub/tex/GB95/ispell-dutch96/dutch96.lat</tt> (dictionary)
    <tt>wget ftp://ftp.tue.nl/pub/tex/GB95/ispell-dutch96/dutch96.aff</tt> (affix file for use with above dictionary)
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/lib/buildhash dutch96.lat dutch96.aff /opt/SUNWmsgsr/lib/nl.hash
    </tt>
    with a new dictionary in the correct place it should be detected automatically after a restart of Messenger Express.
    Use configutil to make Messenger Express aware of the new language:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.installedlanguages
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o local.supportedlanguages
    </tt>
    returns for instance the language strings: <tt>en,es</tt>. Add Dutch:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.installedlanguages -v "en,es,nl"
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o local.supportedlanguages -v "[nl,en,es]"
    </tt>
    Make the new Dutch language the default language for this site:
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configutil -o gen.sitelanguage -v nl
    </tt>
    Restart Messenger Express (web interface) to make the changes effective.
    <tt>
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/stop-msg
    /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/start-msg
    </tt>

    I didn't know it came in Dutch localization -- the purchase page says:   Languages: English, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Spanish.

  • After a while, WRT54G won't allow me into web interface anymore.

    I can get into the web interface shortly after powering on the router. But after several hours, or days, I no longer can access it. The internet and network continue to work, I just can't access the settings page (I get something like "page cannot be displayed" in all browsers).
    If I unplug the router and plug it back in, I can get into the settings page again.
    What might cause this? Would it be fixed if I upgrade the firmware?

    Hi. I think people are misunderstanding my issue. That'smy fault, as I didn't report the error accurately. The error is actually an "Empty server response", not a 404 page not found. So it's talking to the router, but getting nothing back.
    I understand wired connections are not subject to interference, the way wireless ones are.
    However a wired connection for this PC is not feasible without bashing holes in the wall,
    and anyway I can see no reason why I can't do this wirelessly (even if there's some risk of interference).
    Some people seem to be implying this is "By design" and you're expected to access the settings page only via a wire, and it's perfectly normal to require a reboot before being allowed into it. I don't buy that. I've used other routers where I can access the settings wirelessly every time, even if it hasn't been rebooted in a long time.
    What I'm getting at is this: the current issue has nothing to do with interference, if it were interference then I could get on after several attempts. Or if the interference is so strong that I can't connect even after trying for hours... then a simple reboot would not fix it. But a reboot does fix it, which tells me the router seems to be holding on to some info or setting that prevents my PC from accessing it. When I reboot, it loses or changes that info/setting. I'm just curious what it might be.
    If the bottom line is "your router is old and sucks, replace it" then I can certainly just do that. I'd just like to know that the new one will not have this problem.

  • Problems access to a web application (Web Interface or Web report)

    Hi,
    We found problems with the access to web application. Some users have problems with direct links to the web applications(Web Interface or Web reporting), when they click on the link an error message appears, the message displays the following text:
    "Cannot open file Bex?sap-language=ENbsplanguge=ENcmd=idoc_TE.."
    Clicking in details the message is "No Access to specified file"
    For this users the access to excel reporting is correct, the message appears when they click on the direct web links through the browser or directly in BW system, but if they type the URL they can access. Other users can use the direct web link without problems.
    I highly appreciate any help or idea about how to solve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    HI,
    please ask to your basis that check the language of every single user on su01 tx.
    This is the problem i think.

  • Sharepoint 2013: Problem / Error when creating Variation Hierarchy for French and German Languages from Variation root EN

    Hi,
    I have a website with English and Arabic Language Packs installed. I have the corresponding Variation heirachies created and the whole site collection is published.
    Recently the client asked for french and german languages to be accomodated as well. So I followed the same approach I did for English and arabic (installed the language packs) for foundation, ran ocnfiguration wizard, installed server language pack &
    ran configuration wizard.
    But after creating the variation label, when i try to create the variation heirarchy, I am getting the following error.
    "Unknown failure when creating a variation of page http://server:port/en/pages/default.aspx in label /fr/Pages/default.aspx.
    The Variations Create Hierarchies job failed with the following error message&  Unknown failure when creating a variation of site

    Am not sure what is going wrong. Appreciate a feedback.

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you created the Variation Hierarchy for French and German Languages from Variation root EN.
    I recommend to check the Resources folder located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15 to see if the file core.fr-FR.resx exists in the folder.

     Firmware Datecode: 20121205
    1. We can not access this MFU over VPN link. Otherer devices are accessed successfully.
    As far as I understand there is an error in MTU Path Discovery.
    tcpdump logs are attached.
    Is there a way to change MTU of this device?
    2. This MFU a  reboots when I open page "Settings" of "Networking" submenu (/hp/device/set_config_networkSettings.html?tab=Networking&menu=NetSettings) if option "System" -> "System Setup" -> "Language" is "Russian". But this looks like a very good feature since I've have not found the way to reboot this printer remotely.

    Its hard to understand what you are trying to do or ask here.   We have some offices connected via IPSEC tunnels. IPSEC interface's MTU is 1280 bytes (not 1500 bytes as Ethernet). All other devices successfully work over this VPN link. HP m2727 works. HP m425dn does not work. As a network administrator I've traced source of problem on all possible points and found that HP m425dn has a bug in the "Path MTU Path discovery" routine. The logs I attached shows that any packet of the TCP stream that the printer (160.200) sends to host (4.135) has "Don't fragment" flag set. According to IP standard the router HAVE TO discard the packet with DF flag set and size bigger then MTU since it can not pass a packet further without fragmentation - IPSEC MTU is 1280 bytes only while HP sends 1500 bytes. The router informs the printer about this problem with ICMP message Type: 3 (Destination unreachable) with Code: 4 (Fragmentation needed) suggesting MTU of next hop: 1280. The router does not communicate with the printer itself, it just informs the printer about network problem. According to IP standard the printer HAVE TO resend this data with the size of packet decreased according to suggested size. This is expected behavior of the Path MTU discovery routine. But the printer  sends the packet again with the same size and DF flag set. The router again discards the packet and informs printer... This cycle repeats again and again until connection is closed due to timeout. Therefore "Path MTU discovery" routine is broken at this device. It would not be a serious problem, but the printer resends packets at rate over 28000 pps (about 40 MBytes per seconds) and its CPU is so heavily loaded that it even does not respond to touches on its touchscreen. So an innocent attempt to print document on terminal server located at another office leads to inaccessibility of the printer.

    Hi,
    There's a disjoin here when we write the java script it's run at the front end and cannot read any standard SAP variables(unless you code for some kind of rfc call not sure). It can only read what's displayed on the web page. If you can somehow display the user id on the web page you will be able to read it back in the script. Regarding date that's a standard functionality in script
    please refer

    hope this was helpful.
    thanks

    Generate the BSP application once more.

    Prasad

    Hello Prasad,
    Please perform the following check.
    Generate the application once again, and check the status by "Jump->Interface overview or CTRL+F6". The status of your application should be green!
    Execute the Application. If the same error is shown, then try the following:
    1) Execute the Transaction SE80.
    2) In the repository broswer, choose the object type as "BSP Application" and enter your BPS Web Application here "ZROLLHOSKEL". In short open up your web appilcation in Repository Browser.
    3) Make sure that in "Page with flow logic", "zrollhoskel.htm" is there and is active. You could activate this page/complete application from here.
    4) Choose "Test" from the context menu of this page.
    5) You should then see a running application of your BPS Web Application!
    Good Luck!

  • Problems loading plugin on Austrian (German language) machines

    I've just has a rather embarassing session of trying to show my site on PCs in Autria and I wondered if other people had had special problems with German language machines (other than trying to find the "Y"). We downloaded the JRE and netscape was amongst the browsers recognised at installation time yet, when we tried to run the applet it went it displayed the "Plugin required" image. My web pages uses the combination/selection of <embed and <object tags recomended by Sun.
    We also tried Mozilla and IE. Mozilla just closed itself when displaying the page, IE displayed the applet area blank.
    I run this applet page routinely at home on Netscape, IE and Mozilla without problems.
    Even more embarassing one Austrial version of IE actually crashed apparently just trying to run my Javascript.
    This creates something of a problem, I'm heading back to the UK tomorrow and if it's something to do with the Locale it's not going to be easy to sort out.

    well afaik(and i am austrian) we dont hav our "own" version of nething.
    i personally havnt seen any problems with the Y, only the special characters such as ,, and might cause problems.
    neither did i ever encounter problems with the JRE, which u mentioned.
    this may be a problem of the Windows version u were running, like win98. i remember some problems in the past that sound like yours.
    But if u want me to try something, just shot me a message

  • Welcome mail on my  new icloud email is in German language although my setting is English

    I just opened a new icloud mail account, the welcome message that came from apple is in German language although my mail "Setting" is English language

    If secureserver.net is IMAP then all emails will by definition come back unless you dragged emails into folders residing only "On My Mac" in Apple Mail on your previous machine.  If secureserver.net is POP and your mail is not coming back, the only thing that could be from is the messages being deleted from the server, esp. if they aren't showing up in web mail. It's even possible that the thieves deleted all of your messages. Check you webmail's trash bin.
    Do you have a backup? Can you contact your email provider about possible data recovery? Sorry, this sounds terrible!
