Get a message that an update is strongly recommended, tried numerous times but never connect to the update server although my internet connection is fine.
Really no further details, have tried numerous times over the last several weeks and never get connected to the update server.
If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and delete the Firefox program folder to remove any leftover files.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data because all profile folders will be removed.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I'm Gene. I have an older MAC desktop and am running iPhoto 09, version8.1.2 (424). Each time I connect my iphone to my MAC I get a message that there is a newer version of iPhoto, but when I select the link, I am taken to the Apple webpage and get a message that the page I'm looking for is not available. Why am I getting a message that iTunes is not installed when trying to access items in IE?
When I am using IE and find an app on the store, then click the button to view in iTunes I am redirected to the download screen. I tried subscribing to a podcast recently as well and got the message that iTunes was not installed on my computer. When I try to do the same actions in Chrome they work fine. Unfortunetly, Chrome does not work well with some of the software my college uses so I would like to get IE functioning fully before classes start back up. This happens even if I disable my firewall. I have tried updating iTunes and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. My husband's computer has several itunes plugins in IE but I don't for some reason.

thanksI just figured out a solution. I connected my ipod to my computer, went to the 'info' tab on the menu for my ipod. I checked 'Sync Mail Accounts', which were greyed out until I selected them. That connected me to the Cloud and everything went back to normal. Hope this helps someone else!

With Firefox 3, I had no trouble downloading cross-word puzzles from the NY Times website, using the app. Across Lite. After installing Firefox 4, each attempt to download a puzzle evoked the message that the file could not be opened "because an unknown error occurred" The puzzles can still be downloaded through Safari and Camino, so the problem is probably with Firefox 4.
