I showed them the print out of the advertised ad on BestBuy "Get a minimum $50 GC for ANY working tablet". My tablet is working and comply with the terms; just not listed on the trade-in database. They would not honor this, stating it is not listed on their system. I told them the ad states "Any" and not "Qualifying". However, they were rude and refuse to honor this. I called BestBuy corporate, however they were closed on Friday night. Case # (removed per forum guidelines)

Is there any kind of information on how this is exactly supposed to work? I've tried twice now to trade in a couple of older Android tablets I have which work perfectly fine and are undamaged. I've been through a number of excuses about them being "not in our system" and such. So, can anyone answer how this trade in promotion is supposed to work?
1.) Is it any tablet, even if it's not in the system? I've tried suggesting they do it as a recycle but have been unsuccessful.
2.) Is it a gift card that may be used on a Surface Pro or do I have to use it on a Surface Pro? The issue with this is that I'm not 100% convinced on the Surface Pro until I read some user experiences and even if I do go with it, I'll get an i7 version which isn't even available until the end of August. The best I've been able to get is that they'll give me a $100 voucher (an IOU I guess) when/if I decide to buy one.
3.) I've seen the additional terms and conditions may apply at certain stores disclaimer which I completely understand. But, is that something the store has posted/can print out or is it something they can simply make up as they wish when they can't figure it out or don't want to deal with it? So far, my experience has pointed solidly to the latter.

To clarify, you should be able to trade in any working tablet (excluding Barnes and Noble Nooks and e-readers), even if it is not in our trade in system. To be considered working, it must power on and not have a cracked screen or water damage. The store should have an alternative process through our Recycling Program to fulfill this promotion for working devices not found in our system for trade in. As the gift card you should receive would be a normal gift card, you should be able to use it towards a tablet of your choice.
Additional limitations may apply at certain stores should the device be traded in under this promotion rather than recycled. Through our Trade-in Center, some stores may have municipal laws governing what we may and may not trade-in, such as whether it was purchased through us or someone else, meaning proof of purchase at Best Buy may be required. I would reach out to your local store for more information on additional limitations.
As you state that your Android tablets are not in our system, we should be able to trade them in under this promotion through our Recycling Program provided they are considered working. Hi, I just tried to trade in a working completly unblemished tablet to the best buy in columbia, MD (Store 263) and they just informed me that they were unable to trade in the tablet because it was not on their system. I tried to clearify that it should still be tradable by processing it as a recycle, but they were adament it was not the case. Can you please clearify the terms and conditions of the trade in? Thanks.

We definitely appreciate your interest in participating in our current tablet trade-in program centered around the Samsung Galaxy Tab S. I’m very sorry to hear that the store turned you away on this promotion.
From what it sounds like, your tablet should qualify assuming that it meets the following criteria:
·         The device must be able to power on
·         Must have a valid serial number
·         Cannot have a cracked screen
·         Cannot have any water damage
·         The device cannot be a Barnes & Noble Nook or other eReader
It also appears that perhaps the associate you were working with was not completely familiar with the processing of this promotion, so I will send an email to the store management to make sure that they fully understand how to work this trade-in promotion and that their staff is up to speed as well.
I would encourage you to return to the store before September 6th, when the promotion ends, and ask to speak with a member of management for assistance if necessary.

Where can I get a replacement USB port for the Xperia Tablet Z1

Where would I get a replacement USB port component for my Tablet Z - I am OK replacing it myself as I've already stripped the unit down and replaced a broken screen. I looked at the existing part and it doesn't look repairable - looks like the connector "tongue" has come away from the circuit board.
Google hasn't thrown up any good leads. Do Sony sell these parts?

I don't want to import PHOTOS. I want to get only one into Lightroom for temporary work. How do I do this. (the photo is now in Photoshop Elements).

Don't want to import all photos from my camera or anywhere else. I only want to work on one image then put it back into Elements. Please tell me how to do this and I would appreciate a detailed answer. Please do not be vague.

Lightroom is not a file browser, It isn't anything like the organizer in Photoshop Elements. Lightroom uses a catalog, which is a database. That database keeps track of the location of images that have been imported, as well as all of the adjustments that you make to those images using Lightroom. The import process is a process of showing Lightroom where the images are located on your computer. You can't just open an image in Lightroom, make changes and then close it. Lightroom doesn't make changes to the original image. Your images are left in their pristine state. All the changes are stored in the catalog. And when it comes time to share an image that has been adjusted in Lightroom you need to export a copy that includes all of those changes. It's a different workflow, and one that you need to become accustomed to. I suggest that you watch a series of short tutorials that will help you understand more completely how Lightroom works.

Running 10.5.8 on Mac Power PC (non-intel) - when I try to download anything I'm only getting .part files this goes for any type of file, large or small.

I've resorted to running Safari when downloading anything. I really would like to remain with Firefox, but I can't figure anything out. I recently upgraded to 10.5 (Leopard) and that's when the downloading issues started.
In addition my default location to download files was the desktop, after the OS upgrade, Firefox will not even allow me to choose the desktop to download to.

Even though i set firefox to remeber passwords for sites through the Tools feature, i still cannot get firefox to remeber passwords for any sites. now what?

firefox has always stored passwords. a week or so ago the passwords disappeared and the Remember button no longer works. all the password feature using the tools function are double checked and properly set. firefox Remember button still does not work

WL6.1 : Get '404 : File not found' for all WARs

I had some web applications deployed which were running perfectly. Now suddenly
, I get '404 - File not found' for any URL - including the server root, i.e. http://localhost/
I was able to access admin console using http://localhost/console. I checked the
config of each application & couldn't find anything wrong.
Finally I had to re-deploy the WARs to get some applications running.
However, I am still unable to get the Default Web App running - the one handling
server root path.. (I've checked the server config & it shows DefaultWebApp as
the default application).
Any pointers on what could be wrong / correction needed ?

I have a generic brand Android tablet. The associate at the store kept saying that this model number was not in the system and couldn't be accepted for a trade-in. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me the same thing. Afterwards, I called corporate customer service and received the same response for a third time. All the while, I reminded them of the words "any working tablet" and "guaranted minimum", with no success. I don't know why so many people are having this problem.
Looks like BB is losing another customer.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
It really helps if you let others know "what you know of" and already tried.

All this sounds like you are confused about the general nature of MIDI Continuous Controllers (MIDI CC). The MIDI specification allows for 128 different CC's: CC0 to CC127. Mainstage works with MIDI CC's generally in a number of ways:
Some standard ones are automatically passed through to all MIDI/Instrument channels unless you specifically block them. Others are not passed through unless you specifically map them to something.

Yes.
It sounds to me like you have an issue where you have several hardware controls on your Keyboard set up to transmit the same MIDI CC. This is probably not a good idea, and it would be much better if you assigned them to transmit different CC messages (CC1 for Modulation and probably CC11 for the Expression (though you may want to set the pedal to some other number instead.
Once you are transmitting different CC messages, you will be able to Assign and Map much more flexibly:
for example, you could one to control the overall output volume at Concert Level in MS, whilst the other controls the volume of a specific channel within a Patch.
Your issue of layered patches is one of "Scaling": one Screen Control (assigned to an incoming MIDI CC message) needs to alter the ranges of different channel strips to different amounts. You can set this up by using multiple mappings for one Control, each set to work over a particular range (for example a goes from -20 to 0 whilst b goes from -30 to -20 etc.).
