Get back to start screen in Google maps

Is there a way to get back to the map start screen to look for a new location?
I think I might have found it, I kept tapping on the up and down arrows in the left hand corner and it sent me back with my last entry (grocery) that I had to delete.

I have this question also. Once I go into Route mode, everything I do keeps it in Route mode. If I click on the map itself as the previous poster said, I still get the Start and End input boxes, with to Cancel. All I can do at that point is set up different routes. The only way I've found to get out of this mode is to go to Phone Contacts and select a new address from there.
This seems like a bug.

Use Lion Recovery to repair the startup disk if necessary, or reinstall the Mac OS X.

To resolve your issue with Facetime freezing when you end a call, I would try the first three steps in the article below.
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.

I fear your problem may be deeper than your homepage gone missing, but you can change your homepage easily by going into Tools > Options > General and entering the address you want in the "Home Page" field.
I should warn you, however, that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment is outdated and is no longer supported. Please install the latest version for maximum speed, security and functionality. It's completely free, as always. You can get it through Firefox update service (Help > Check for updates...) or at www.getfirefox.com

6300 - is there a easy was to get back to start me...

I used to find Nokia phones very easy to navigate .In fact after a terrible experiencw with Motarolla I swore I would only ever use Nokia. BIG MISTAKE . Sadly I bought a 6300 and if anything it's the most difficult thing to navigate since Concorde. Why oH why oh way did they mess up a really simple and idiot proof navigation system. It seem to send a call now I cant just typein a number and press GO I have to click endles number or times. Ditto to send or get a text. Then once I send a text I just get stuck !! I cant seem to find how to get out of the Text system. I keep pressing buttons but go around in circles. The same thing happens in other fancy functions too - round and round in circles.
How does one get back to the start menu !!!
Is there an 'escape' key anywhere on this phone thats gets you out of the fancy menus if you get lost
A VERY DISAPOINTED NOKIA USERS

I have operated car phones and then mobile phones since about 1990 so I don't think I can be called a novice.
What appears to have changed is that as the phones have become multi-functional the initial simplicity of their operation as phones alone have been sacrificed to a menu based system where as much emphasis is given to playing games and listening to the radio as making a phone call.
I have used Nokia mobile phones for many years because I found what is refered to as 'old ' operating system very easy to follow and logical to use compared with several other brands I tried inc Panasonic. Ericson, Motorola (worse ever) , Samsung.
Additionally the written instructions were excellent and you could easily find how to work the phone.
Now, because the 'phones' have too many functions , and to avoid having an instruction book the size of yellow page, there appears to be too much reliance on the menu system, and when the phone is switched on one is confronted by a sea of menu icons that you appear to have to scroll through to do any thing.
ie when you swich on the options presented on the screen are '; GO TO / MENU/ LIVE !!! What happend to MAKE A PHONE CALL !!!
Thes options do not sugest that yiou can just type in the number do they ??? If I do just type in the number, it isagain not immediately obvious that you can make the call by pressing the tiny green button - BECAUSE the screen just gives you 3 alternatives - 'Options' + 'Save' or 'Clear;. !!! Again none of these say 'DIAL' or 'MAKE CALL' !! It is not apparant that you can make a call just by pressing the green button ! The green buton used to have an illustration of a phone 'off the hook' and red button =- a phone on the hook. ie excellent visual que's regarding what they were for, Now it's a tiny pin **bleep** of green and red light - which means or conveys nothing obvious at all
I have, since reading this on this discussion , dug out the instruction book and found this information on how to make a call hidden on PAGE 23 of the instruction book!! I shouldn't have to read 23 pages of waffle to find out how to make a call for goodness sake !!!!

I BUY A PHONE TO MAKE A PHONE CALL - the least you can do is tell me simply how to do it !!! Not expect me to read War and Peace to discover the answer.
As I say, Nokia phones and the instructions used to be very users friendly. The people who designed the phones and wrote the instruction books seemed to have the user in mind. The current designers and instruction book writers have abandoned this concept and need to be sent back to school.
PLEASE REMEMBER PEOPLE BUY PHONES TO MAKE PHONE CALLS FIRST and FOREMOST.
TELL THEM HOW TO DO IT SIMPLY AND MAKE IT CLEAR , OBVIOUS AND UNAMBIGUOUS.
If they want to use the phone as a dictating machine (I do by the way), they will be prepared to take a little longer to find out how. I didn't mind that I had to sit down and wade though the instructions to find out where the recording function was but I am mighty annoyed that I have had the phone over 6 weks before finding out the most basic way to make a phone call.

Cannot get back to original screen

I have trouble accessing the Cablevision.com website under Firefox and I don’t have this problem with I.E. I have seen this problem only on this one website. I have tried this using my Windows 7 laptop and my two XP computers. The problem is that it requires me to click on a link in screen A. This gets me to a screen with a PDF document (says pdf action) and I then get back to the original screen A (slightly modified). In the pdf screen, I have to click on the X in the top right of the screen i.e.. But if I’m in Firefox, this “bounces me out” altogether. When in I.E., I don’t have this problem i.e. I’m able to get back to screen A automatically. Thus Firefox doesn’t know to get back to screen A (slightly modified).. p.s.-I just now cleared both History and Cache and it didn’t help. I’m on Firefox version 3.6.22.

I can't reproduce this, probably because I need an account on the site or because I don't understand your explanation. But this sounds like this is a problem with the website itself, cablevision.com. It could be that the web developers of the site only cared to ensure this works in IE, not for other standards compliant browsers.
If you have support from cablevision, you might want to consider contacting them about the problem?

How do I get back to default screen display after clicking View/Full Screen Display?

After I click View/Full Screen on the Firefox menu bar, I lose the main FF Menu bar. When I hit the esc key, the screen remains locked in full screen view mode. Then I have to reboot my computer to get back to the default FF menu and display mode.
Why doesn't the esc key work the way it works when I'm viewing videos in full screen mode?

MacBook Pro won't get past gray start screen - RunTime corruption error

Hi, I am a novice when it comes to fixing things, so I will make a Genius Bar appointment, but I thought I would consult this community first in case anyone has experienced this same issue:
I was using my 13 in. MacBook Pro this morning after not using it for a couple weeks. (It was running fine last time.) It started up fine, and the few applications I was using worked OK. Then I got an error saying I needed to update my Java in order to access my work VPN. I didn't think twice about downloading the Java upgrade. Once the Java download was complete, I thought I might need to restart to get the VPN to recognize the update. And that was the last time I was able to see my desktop. I restarted, and the could not get past the gray screen. I did this twice. Then I did a safe boot (showing the status of the progression), and that when I saw this message over and over and over:
hfs: RunTime corruption detected on MacIntosh HD, fsck will be forced on next mount.
hfs: BlockMarkFreeInternal () trying to free unallocated blocks (10865570,8) on volume MacIntosh HD
(I snapped a pic with my phone - that's how I transcribed it.)
This ran for about 20 minutes before I suspected it wasn't actually doing anything, and I forced it to shut down by pressing the power button.
I just tried to start it again (fingers crossed, hoping for a miracle), but no such luck. Does anyone have any ideas? Is all lost? Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

I should add that I don't know if the Java download is responsible - could just be a coincidence that it was the last thing I did/downloaded before restarting.
