Get bw data into bpc consolidation model

hi gurus
i m kinda newbie in bpc nw 7.5 for consolidation, now i m enroll in a project where i have to build some models for financial consolidation, in some way i know what objects should it builded, but i have a doubt about data which resides in BW (obviusly cames from ERP), this data is stored in some Z infocubes, but how i can get this data into my model on bpc?? do i have to do it throught DTPs/transformations or there is some BPC functions that implement this?

BPC has a pre-delivered Data Manager Package to load the data from the BW infocubes. Please check the below link from help.sap:

How to load only BW text data into BPC 10.0

Hello,
I am trying to load BW text data into BPC 10.0 objects.
For BW InfoObject 0VERSION there is no attribute data (no P, Q, M tables) only text data (T table).
For BW InfoObject 0VERSION I created VERSION as Dimension in BPC 10.0 and it is not having any properties.
I created a Transformation file to load the data from 0VERSION of BW to VERSION of BPC and in the validation it is giving an error.
In the Validation it is giving error as '0VERSION is empty' but data is available in 0VERSION of BW.
Based on the error I am thinking that we cannot load only Text data from BW into BPC if they don't have any attribute data. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Is it possible to load only Text data without attributes from BW to BPC?
Can some one help me in loading the data?

Thank you for the reply.
I mapped Dimension ID to 0VERSION but still it is giving error.
In the validation it is saying as 0VERSION is empty but data is there in the BW system.
Please find the screen shot of the Transformation file and the error.

I Have an iPhone 5 and I want to get activity data into the health app. I have been using the fitbit app and a fitbit one device but fitbit have their head in the sand and are not going to develop this functionality.

Inserting the Brio Query Data into EIS OLAP Model tables directly

Dear Experts,
Can someone please suggest how we can export data (result set records) from bqy files' queries into an EIS server's OLAP Model's tables?
Right now I have a cube on Essbase server getting the data from excel sheets which store the data from the execution of .bqy files.
Use of file system (excel sheets) has not been liked by my business users so now I need to avoid storing the data from brio queries into excel sheets for loading into the Essbase cube. This I am required to achieve using EIS/AIS so that the data from brio queries(.bqy files) can be directly inserted into Essbase cube with the help of (i.e. via) EIS/AIS.
Any quick help would boost the life of this project of mine.

Problem in getting MM data into CM

I have configured Cash Management module and integrated MM, SD with forecasting. I am able to get the SD data into the forecast but not able to see the MM data in the forecast
I created PR but its level "M1" is not getting reflected in the forecast.

I'm not developing oracle apps reports. It is for Oracle retail...
another doubt is... in the rtf document itself there is oracle bi publisher.. can it be used for generating xml data...

What will you be using in your production system to generate XML? Or are you just trying out BIP?
If you're familiar with dbms_xmlquery.getxml , you can pass your SQL to generate the XML output. Save the output in a file and use it in your RTF template.
If you have Oracle reports, you can create XML output when you run the report.

Getting MySQL Data into a Power BI Workbook Automatically -- Recommendations or Successes?

Looking to retrieve MYSQL on premise data automatically and scheduled. Straight forward enough manually using Power Query, the MYSQL connector, and loading to a data model. But it would be nice getting it done at night.
Is it best to get the data sent to SQL Azure first? Been reading conflicting success stories with scheduled refresh, Power query, and SQL Azure. Can create a DMG to MYSQL server but can not eliminate or migrate the MYSQL database.
Any suggestions on architecting a solution?

Thanks for your quick reply. I have seen that link. What I'm not clear on is the best approach to setup a refresh to SQL Azure since that seems the supported data source. It appears that a data managed gateway is not needed if scheduling a refresh of
a data connection in the Data model that points to SQL Azure db. But does this mean the userid and password has to be included in the workbook. If so, if someone copies the workbook to another location (another company) will the update still work?

Getting BW data into WebDynpro table

Can any one suggest me how to get data from BW? Is it possible to write any RFC for that?
As far as I know there are many options like BW Query Iviews etc but I need to get that data and have it in a table with lot of images based on result. So I guess I will able to achive this if I have all the data into WebDynpro Context.

You can use the BI Java SDK for this purpose. Using this you can execute any BI query through your Java code, retrieve the results and manipulate/display them as you please.

How to get SEC data into numbers??

I am trying to get the SEC data into a .csv file so that I can play with it in a numbers. A few years ago the program thumbval (thumbnail evalu-a-tor) did a pretty good job, but it used web queries, which broke over time, as the pages it referenced changed.
What I would like to do is simply get the data from the SEC, and CUT AND PASTE it into numbers, but this is difficult, as it is improperly formatted and just gets placed in a single cell. grrrrr
Any suggestions? Morningstar has 'watered down' financial statements in table form. My broker (BMO investorline) provides .csv files, but they contain only summary data - for instance the quarterly income for BWLD is just a few lines, and contains none of the detail breakdown found in the SEC reports.
The data exists. It is plastered all over the financial world, surely getting it into a spreadsheet ready format has been done to death, but I am going crazy trying to figure this one out.

As I don't know from where where grabbed your datas, I can't make tests.
May you copy a block of datas from the web page then paste into a Pages document.
After that activate the "Show hidden chars" tool.
You will see which character is used as a separator.
You may also attach the Pages doc (after zipping it) to a mail and send it to:

I will be able to look at the datas's contents.
I met several cases.
- 1 - values separated by TABs and they may be pasted as is.
- 2 - values separated by Returns. They can't be pasted as is. I posted a script to deal with this case. But often this one is linked to Safari. Entering the Web page with Firefox gave a TAB separated values block
- 3 - values separated by spaces. In this case, it is difficult to get a correct result.
I posted a script able to deal with this case because most of the values where numbers so I was able to replace every occurence of (digit + space) by (digit + TAB) and every occurence of (space + digit) by (TAB + digit).

Extracting data from Legacy system - How do we get the data into a normaliz

Requirement that I have now is to get the data from 6 different tables ORACLE database to BI using DB Connect, where in each of those 6 tables has the transactional data as well - If it is only 2 tables, would have been creating a view and get the data. Each of the 6 tables are linked to one other by the Primary Key and Foreign key relation ship.
If it is from ERP system we would have created a Functional Module.
Please advice me on how to get the data to BI end from those tables in Legacy system.

I recommend following Ralph Kimball's EDW data modeling principles.
Have a staging layer of DSO's with data dump from source system. So have 6 different DSO's extracting data from 6 tables from source system independently.
Then have an integeration layer of DSO's depending on requirement. You could combine data from 2 or more DSO's here based on requirement and integrate your data here. Use primary key foreign key relationships here to do look ups or direct loads to do your business logic.
Then have an analytical layer of InfoCubes, MultiProviders, InfoSets as required.
The 3 layered architecture is a standard best practice that i have seen followed in many organizations. You could search for this type of architecture online under EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse). There should be plenty of information available.

I have an unique situation.
Iam getting large data in XML wrapper.The XML file has all sort of data in it
1. Multi-delimited text data in CData section
e.x H3005234 John Koenig 123 Street
H4004567 99999999 $1000.00 $200.00
2. Formatted text data in CData section which I need to preserve
I need to Take each of this data section and write it to individual normalized database columns
Iam thinking of taking the following approach
Use XMLDB and PL/SQL to parse the data and do data transofrmations
Iam having the following problems
1. The Multi-delimited data in CData section when i create a .xsd file is treated as text.Iam worried that since this is a multi-delimited fixed width file having white spaces .will the white spaces be eliminated while storage if so how would i parse the data to know which data belwongs to what section or record
2. How do i register the schema so that i can use the best approach to solve the issues

There was no option that I can recall or could find. All the parsing of XML that I've done in 8i was via the xmldom package.
Oracle version: 9.2.x.x - 10.1.x.x
This is were Oracle introduced extract, extractValue and TABLE(XMLSequence(extract())) for dealing with repeating nodes.
Oracle version: 10.2.x.x
Oracle introduced XMLTable as a replacement for the previous methods since it could handle all three methods for extracting data from XML. At that point, Oracle stopped enhancing extract/extractValue in terms of performance and focused on XMLTable. In 10.2.0.1 and .2, XMLTable was implemented via Java and in .3 it was moved into the kernel so performance from .3 onwards should be better than the older 9.2 / 10.1 methods. If not, feel free to open a ticket with Oracle support. Apparently Oracle also introduced XMLQuery as well but I've never heard of many using that in 10.2

For 2 point:
if you are in release < 3.5 you can use Tcode RSCRM_BAPI to produce a flat file from a query in CSV format.
if you are already in => 3.5 you can check for APD.
You can also use Openhub-InfoSpoke to produce flat file to feed other SAP systems.
