Get Cropped Image to Fit Screen?

Whenever I crop a photo the new image snaps to the corner and gets very small. Is there a way to change this so my new image stays floating AND fits the screen? I thought that in the past whenever I cropped an image it would fill the window the same size of the un-cropped photo. The only thing I can do now is after I make the crop select "fit to screen" (Ctrl-0) to get the image view large again. I don't remember having to do this. I crop a lot of photos so I'd really like a way to make the crop instantly go to a large image. Did I mess up my settings some where or do I have to click "fit to screen" after every crop?

Usually when you crop an image in the full edit mode,
the cropped image will be at the same viewing percent
as the uncropped image. In other words if your image was at 100%
view (actual pixels), the cropped image will also be at 100% view.
Sometimes in the floating image mode (non tabbed view) the window will
get smaller and end up on the left top of the screen (don't know why).
If your using pse8-9, you can work in the tabbed viewing mode to prevent the window resizing,
but the image itself will still not fill the screen, only the document window.
In earlier versions you can use the maximize window mode.

  • Getting an image to fit across width of browser

    Hi
    Im trying to get an image to fit across width of browser - I thought i could do it as you would a shape ie size image until red line appears both sides so it will fill automactially as same as a shape. However when I do this it just isnt working - it doesnt stretch across width of browser.
    I do realise that I can use BROWSER FILL - however as i already have an image for footer i've used this function which works well. Ive also tried combining the image and my footer as one large image using browser fill - however this doesnt work as when the image is scaled up on a large monitor it puts everything out, as it is just treating it as one large background image.
    So my question is - is there anyway I can get an image thats placed to fill browser width without using browser fill?
    Many thanks in advance
    Paul

    Hi,
    It works, but when I try this, my image is cut in the length (cutting is different, it depends on witch screen you look).
    He don't scroll in image.
    Specifications image
    Fill (image): filling
    Site properties:
    Scrollbars browser: always (vertical, horizontal)
    Anybody an idea?
    Thanks!

    If you do Cmd+Shift+3 you'll get a full screen image saved to your desktop as a jpg file.
    Also, you can use Cmd+Shift+4 and you'll get a cursor which you click+drag to draw a box. When you release the drag the boxed in area will be saved to the Desktop as a jpg file.

    thank you, I have the adaptors so glad that would work.  I just heard adaptors burn out often.  So Just thought for my main iMac computer, a plug would be best.  I will get one once I move.
    Any other suggestions or things I should know about apple products in Ireland.  I know there are no Apple stores there.
    An adaptor doesn't burn out. It merely serves as a means to connect the power prongs on your device to the power supply.
    I believe you are thinking of a transformer, which you do not need. A transformer converts one voltage to another.
    You don't need to do that as the power supply of modern electronics can take almost any worldwide voltage.
    Look at the label on the device. It should indicate the input power acceptable of 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz.
    Additionally, I found the adapters cheaper in the UK than I found them in the US. They were available in most supermarket chains. I wasn't in Ireland, so I can't say one way or the other.
    If you have something that doesn't have that input power spec, it would require a transformer.
    On other items like electric clocks or things with motors, you can connect them up to a transformer and the voltage will be correct, but the frequency may not. For clocks, that will cause them to not keep time well. For motors, they will burn out.

  • Can I use split screens on and extra monitor I have. I can get mirror image on both screens, but not a split screen. The monitor is 1600 x 900.

    Can I use split screens on an extra monitor I have? I can get a mirror image on both screens, but not a split screen. The monitor is 1600 x 900 AOC 20inch monitor. Hope I haven't wasted my money buying this £69 monitor. My 13" Macbook Pro is a little small for my ageing eyes. Thanks

    In the display settings on your computer uncheck "mirrored". This will put the displays in "extended" mode. In extended mode you can set the external display to its native resolution as well as drag windows from your computer to the external monitor. I assume that is what you mean when you say "split screen".

  • Can't get cropped images into printable sizes I.e 6x4, 7x5 etc

    I am fairly new to elements and I am having problems with resizing my images. I have cropped some images and want to upload them to say 'photobox' but I can't seem to get the images into the correct size for printing I.e 6x4, 7x5 etc. I have also noticed that I start with an image that is say 7mb in size yet when it has been edited and uploaded it is 700k and rated as a medium quality image ? Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

    If you have cropped the image precisely  to 6x4, then in the print dialog you need to select the paper size (6x4). If your printer has the capabilitry to print borderless, you can try that as well.

  • Getting backround image to fit in all browser sizes

         I have an image of a baseball field that I would like to use as the backround of a website I am building.  The problem I am having is that the image doesn't adjust to the size of the browser if I shrink or inlarge the browser.  Is there a way to get backround images to autofit the browser with dreamweaver?

    No.  Background images are static.  They are the size that they are.  You can't make a huge background fill viewport in all displays so don't even attempt to use this as your body background image.
    The best backgrounds are small, seamless tiles or slices that you can repeat vertically and/or horizontally to fill the available viewport.

  • Getting larger image on editing screen

    I am suddenly having a problem here with enlarging  my photographs that I am editing. In the past, I would open an image and then click on Control + 0 (zero). This would enlarge the image to the working area. Also, it would do the same thing if I double clicked on the little hand on the toolbar on left side of screen. For some reason, this stopped working. How do I get this back? Thank you.
    I have both PSE 10 and 7  on 2 computers.

    Hatstead,
    Thank you for responding to my question.
    Shortly after I posted it, I was able to find the printed out instructions that I had for fixing the problem. I had written to Users Forum last year with same issue.
    Go into actual welcome screen not the editor page
    hit contrlaltshift
    dialog box appears asking if you want to delete settings file.
    answer YES.
    But I do appreciate your following up.

  • Background image to fit in DW WYSIWYG editor using HTML

    I am trying to create an HTML background that will serve as the landing page on my website. I need help with formatting the image to fit the entire screen so that it does not scroll down or repeat. Also. Once this is done. I would like to upload it onto my website background page. I am using the WYSIWYG editor because for now. I can somewhat make sense of it. However am stuck trying to get the image to fit perfectly. I am not using CSS and don't wish to either. I understand HTML a little better. Please, help. I've been stuck for days at this rate.

    Unfortunately, you can't design modern websites without a good grasp of both HTML and CSS code.  Don't limit yourself with Design View only.  Use Split View so you can see the code DW is creating.

    To answer your question about BG image.  Use CSS background-size property with vendor prefixes.  This can't be done with HTML.
    CSS Code:
    body {
          background: url(your-BG-image-here.jpg) no-repeat center center fixed;
          /**for Safari,Chrome**/
           -webkit-background-size: cover;
         /**for Firefox**/
           -moz-background-size: cover;
          /**for Opera**/
           -o-background-size: cover;
          /**for all other browsers**/
          background-size: cover;

  • How to stop MG3520 from dropping image when fit to page is checked

    How can I stop MG3520 from cropping image when fit to page is checked?

    Hi Keithlad,
    You will want to make sure that the paper size selected in the printer driver is the same size as the paper that you have loaded in the printer to ensure that the image prints correctly.   When the paper size selected in the printer driver is smaller than the actual page size, the page image will be reduced.  When the paper size selected is larger, the page image will be enlarged.

  • Is it possible to get the image from the i pad when mirroring via Apple TV to fill the screen instead of appearing as a screen within a screen?

    When mirroring, is it possible to get the image from the ipad to fill the screen on the TV instead of appearing as a screen within a screen?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    No, the iPad has an aspect ratio of 4:3, a TV has an aspect ratio of 16:9, to fit one into the other is impossible without distorting the picture. If your TV has a zoom feature, you may be able to use this to fill the screen a little more to your liking, but this will result in cropping top and bottom.

  • Automatically zoom and crop an image to fit in a square

    I've got an mx:Image which is loading an image from the web.  I don't know how big the image will be in advance.  I'd like the loaded image to fit within the mx:Image's square frame by zooming and cropping off the sides or top/bottom as needed.  In other words, if the image frame is 64x64 and the loaded image is 70x64, it will be centered and lose a few pixels on the right and left sides.  Is it possible to do automatically?  I've played with maintainAspectRatio and scaleContent but I haven't been able to get what I want.

    In an ideal world we would use a high resolution version with a 100% width set for every device (and screen size). Because of bandwidth reasons, the page should load only a version of the image intended for a specific width range.
    Sometime in the future we will (probably) be able to use this:
    <picture width="500" height="500">
       <source media="(min-width: 45em)" src="large.jpg">
       <source media="(min-width: 18em)" src="med.jpg">
       <source src="small.jpg">
       <img src="small.jpg" alt="">
       <p>Accessible text</p>
    </picture>
    However, this will not yet work. Therefore, ideally, a polyfill picturefill method that works quite well can alternatively be used:
    https://github.com/scottjehl/picturefill
    Solution:
    Call the picturefill.js (see above url for more information and sample code)
    body:
    <span data-picture data-alt="A giant stone face at The Bayon temple in Angkor Thom, Cambodia">
            <span data-src="small.jpg"></span>
            <span data-src="medium.jpg"     data-media="(min-width: 400px)"></span>
            <span data-src="large.jpg"      data-media="(min-width: 800px)"></span>
            <span data-src="extralarge.jpg" data-media="(min-width: 1000px)"></span>
            <!-- Fallback content for non-JS browsers. Same img src as the initial, unqualified source element. -->
            <noscript>
                <img src="external/imgs/small.jpg" alt="A giant stone face at The Bayon temple in Angkor Thom, Cambodia">
            </noscript>
        </span>
    This works in all browsers and devices. On a mobile platform only the lower resolution image will be loaded up.

    Full screen images aren't loading and full screen color background boxes are cropping horizontally. I'm forced to make my images a full screen slide show (of 1 image) to make it work, but then I lose the option to pin the image. Am I alone in this?
