Get info for iBooks

Please make a Get Info option like iTunes or at least give us the option to have books in iTunes. You can't change series order and covers etc, even though you can change the title etc.
Not a question but a suggestion. Thanks

Fallout75, good catch on the eXo plugin.  To remove it, in the Finder click "Go" on the menu bar and pull down to "Go to Folder" and then type ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins
When that Finder window opens, you should see an "eXo" subdirectory.  Just delete that "eXo" folder and iTunes should start without the error.

  • Get Info for Multiple Albums message (but only one was selected)

Please can someone help? I was so full of hope when moving from Windows to the Mac but my hope is rapidly turning to despair.
I have spent several hours putting many of my favourite music CDs into iTunes. All was going well, but suddenly when accessing the “Get Info” of a particular album in order to add Artwork I got a message like “Are you sure you want to get the information of MULTIPLE items” (my emphasis). (The error message may not be word perfect because I clicked the “don't show again” box and haven't seen it since.)
But the point is that I definitely did NOT have multiple items selected. There is nothing I can now do to select “Get Info” for a single album, and as a consequence I will never be able to add Artwork again when necessary.
I looked through the Internet and found references to the com.apple.itunes.plist. However although I can see this using Terminal I cannot find it using Finder! (Why not?)
What on earth is going on? This is no better than Windows, and in fact rather worse: I tried to delete iTunes, since it is obviously corrupted in some obscure way, with a view to re-installing it. But I can't even do that because it is “needed by Mac Os x”!!
    Please can you help?

If you get info on an album, it contssts of multiple songs so it is multiple items.

You still can get info for multiple items. Checking the Don't show this again box simply stops iTunes from telling you that you have selected multiple items. It will still get info and edit the info for multiple items.

Because by default, Finder searches do not show system files.
But the "problems" you are experiencing are not really problems (just not knowing how it works) and you don't need to mess with that file.

  • Get info for songs after importing?

Is there any way I can get info for songs in my library after I import them? I have a data CD that I would like to import and have iTunes get all of the information for me. Is this possile? Also if not is there anyway to check to make sure it got every songs, or to see what songs it couldn't get info for? I am using Windows.

    Are these MP3/AAC files?
They should have the info in the ID3 tags already.
If the songs were RIPped using iTunes, select the Album, then Advanced - Get CD track names.

  • Get Info for alias does not show "Original" location

When I Get Info for an alias, no "Original" location shows. What must I do to see the original file location?

In addition to finding the location listed under the "General" pane of the info window (you might have to click the disclosure arrow), you can also go right to the original—meaning show it in its Finder window at the original location—by right clicking the alias and selecting "Show Original."

Windows Explorer doesn't display some files until I play or get info for them in iTunes.
How do I get them to all show up in Explorer without playing them all one by one?

I think I solved the problem by going to File -> Library -> Organize Library

  • When I input song information into "get info" for each of my songs, some do not save when I close my Itunes. When I click on the song the correct info pops back up.Why?

I ran into the same problem, I think that, If you tab on a song that is on your IPOD, and the song data is grayed-out, I think it means that the song is probably twice on your IPOD and that the iTunes directory can not edit THAT song data for two (or more) files @once. Check if this is the case, sinceI have the same problem,am looking for a way to have One and the same song in more playlists but only keep the song once on the IPOD.

  • Available Space in 'Get Info' for HDD does not match with the files

I have a 75G HDD on this Macbook. The 'Get Info' for the HDD says I only have 1G of space available. However, when I go item by item in the HDD, and total the sizes myself, it only totals to 30G of space being used.
Anyone heard of this problem before? Are there files hiding somewhere? How can I get more useful space on this HDD?

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
use something like Disk Inventory; JDisk Report or OmniDisk Sweeper to really find out what is consuming your disk space.
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/20598/jdiskreport
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14393/disk-inventory-x
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/7402/omnidisksweeper
OSX hides quite a lot of system files from the user for the sake of safety.
What to delete and what not is your choice.
    Regards

  • Why can't I get "info" on ibooks using Maverick?

I just installed Maverick and now cannot get the info for my ibooks.  I want to organize and add covers to my books but can't do this for any new ones.

  • Image Icon not showing in "get info" for OS 10.9.4

I  now have PS CC 2014 and the image icons are showing the "generic" .jpg and .psd files in the "get info" finder window, but on my desktop the images are showing their
         proper image icon.
I was previously using PS CS 5 and the icons are showing up in the "get info" window, but with PS CC 2014 these icons are showing up as generic.
To be clear the images I saved using PS CS 5 are showing the icons vs. the images I saved in CC 2014 where the icons are not showing in the "get info" window.
I've compared preference settings with PS 2014 and PS 5 but their basically about the same.
I'm including 2 images so you can see what I'm explaining. IMG_1627 is a PS CC2014 created image and Arturo is a PS 5 image.
I did read about other PS users having similar issues but it looked to be unresolved.
You may think what's the big deal, but I use these image icons to label my folders. A "trick" I've doing for over decade which helps keep my folders visually on track for me.
Is anyone out there able to solve this issue??

I do on occasion get jpgs and pngs that won't render a thumbnail or preview in MacOS.  I have 10.9.5
I don't have this problem, although I just have CC and CC 2014 on my Macbook.
I would open those up in Preview.app and try a Save As... and I would get the thumbnail and thumbnail preview back.
Not really the best idea, but you can see if it helps.
These  are my file saving options, perhaps there is something there you can try.

<title>"Causes of the Civil War" (Session 1), February 12, 2005</title>
<description>Few other questions in American history have generated more controversy than "What Caused the Civil War?" That conflict preserved the United States as one nation, indivisible and abolished the institution of slavery that for more than four score years had made a mockery of American claims to stand as a republic of liberty, a beacon of freedom for oppressed peoples in the Old Word. But these achievements came at the great cost of more than 629,000 lives and vast destruction of property that left large parts of the South a wasteland. Could this terrible war have been avoided? Who was responsible for the events that led to war? Could the positive results of the war (Union and Freedom) have been achieved without war? How have participants in the war and historians answered these questions over the five generations since the war ended? James M. McPherson is the George Henry Davis '86 Professor of History at Princeton University and is widely acclaimed as the leading historian of the Civil War. He is the author of Battle Cry of Freedom: The Civil War Era, which won the Pulitzer Prize in history in 1989, as well as many other books on Lincoln and the Civil War era. This is the first in a two-part series.</description>

  • Cannot select Get Info for multiple tracks

I  just updated to Lion 10.7.3 and iTunes 10.6.1 and imported my Leopard iTunes Library. I can Get Info on individual tracks but when I shift select or command select multiple tracks the iTunes window turns gray and nothing can be selected. iTunes just freezes until I press the Escape key. So far, everything else works as expected - the only problem is selecting multiple tracks (which worked fine for me on previous OS and iTunes versions).
I haven't found any reports of similar problems so maybe I'm doing it wrong.
    Any suggestions?

I solved my own problem - the last time I used iTunes was on a two monitor system. I still have the second monitor connected but it was turned off and the iTunes Get Info window for MULTIPLE selected items was opening on the second monitor. When I did a Get Info on a single selection, the window appeared on the main monitor normally - behavior which never made me think that multiple items would show up in a different window on the turned off monitor.
