Get Installed Apps List

Hello.
I want to know if it is possible to retrieve a list of all installed applications on Windows OS.
Thanks.

Does anyone know
of a method in Java that can check registry values or
does one have to get into JNI. I have not had much
exposure to JNI.
no - you'll have to use JNI

  • Why does Lightroom keep disappearing out of my installed apps list in Creative Cloud?

As the title says. It keeps disappearing. Its driving me nuts. Because it isn't listed in the app list, it doesn't update. It's happened numerous times now. Only downloading and reinstalling it makes it reappear...for a little while. Then its gone the next time I check

Lightroom keeps disappearing form the installed App list.

  • Installed Apps List

The old CC app manager put the installed and uninstalled (new) apps in alphabetical order in the sections for the lists. The new CC manager puts the installed apps in some type of random order you have to scroll and look to find where the apps are in the list. Is there a way to order the list in alphabetical order? And if not, when will this be fixed?

Thanks for the info - the CC Cleaner Tool is a new one on me.
Out of curiosity I went to the Help link in CC to see if it offered this option, but seems not to - I wish Adobe would change their ways and invest more in support personnel rather than rely on users to provide it for free...
I can't remember the last time an app I was using was so nixed by an update - not great for building confidence in CC.
The Cleaner Tool looks like the tool-of-last-resort, so shall take your advice and wait for next update.
    Thanks again

  • This may be more of an OS issue than a Curve issue but here goes. How do you remove the installed apps list on my 8530's AppWorld?

I have never purchased any apps yet but I have tried quite a few and now I'm stuck with this list of more than 20 apps listed in the Uninstalled section of my 8530's Blackberry App World.
As they are ALL free apps that I tried and DON'T installed on my phone for one reason or another, I would like to remove any existence of these apps from my phone and/or my App World Account.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

What Part of 'Evil' do you not understand?

    Hello,
What you ask cannot be done. The AppWorld servers forever remember every app you download to your BB, free or not. Consider the alternative...if those were paid apps and RIM did not retain the purchase record, then when you want the app back later, you'd have to pay again...not a good situation I'd think.
And, before you say it...I agree...I think that they should be able to differentiate between free and fee-based apps. But, they don't. That's just the way it works.
    Good luck!

  • Apps in installed app list in control panel- 'from...

    Hi
E73 running symbian etc. on T-mobile network. Used on an Wireless LAN for calls / web as well as regular cell, as per most people.
I found (looking from both PC-suite and via phone's application manager) that I had new installs of Fr0MA_0x2000E2FC, the Fr0MA_installer, MDM_Client, Media DS Plugin, MMS DS Plugin, PIPS Installer, etc. Never saw them earlier.
These are new to me, but web searches show they can be associated with digital rights. However, given potential power of the Apps from a remote site I was worried.
    Questions for forum:
    1. If I remove them is there any risk to phone use (i.e., if needed can I reinstall them).
    2. Where are they likely to have recently appeared from (another app's support, malware, T-mobile or Nokia).
    Thanks in advance for help

    thanks for the reply
PIPS_installer  has certificates from Symbian CA I
    Nokia as supplier
I think it may be a pipes add-on for python and SDKs. Still checking...
    Re. MDM and froma processes:
Killing the running mdm_daemon processes etc.,  prevents downloads from the Nokia site / Ovi,  but their loss apears to do nothing else to phone function otherwise. I dont do music downloads from Nokia or other sites...
I presume they would also fail as the DRM targets.

Welcome to the board.  I'm surprised none of the moderators moved your post to the E-Series section.
I also have an E73, and once asked about the Fr0MA and MDM installs myself: /t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/What-are-mdm-installer-sis-and-FrOMA-S603-2-11-sisx/m-p/909183 .  (The link I posted no longer works.)  The answer made sense to me only in the context of Nokia's (now defunct?) DRM music service...which was never supported on this phone.  I have the .sis installers for Fr0MA_0x2000E2FC and MDM_Client sitting on my C: drive, and with those, the Fr0MA_installer may be unnecessary.  Personally, I left everything installed, but suspect you can remove them without causing harm.
I do know for a fact that any install called "DS Plugin" (and also "Service Controllers" and maybe a few others) are installed by PC Suite/Ovi Suite/Nokia Suite to act as the glue between the software and the phone.  Delete any of these, and the program will reinstall them again (possibly with a prompt) the next time you connect your phone.  So these are perfectly harmless.
I don't have a PIPS Installer entry (but do have a "Pipes Upgrade"), so that one is a mystery.  Who is listed as the vendor, Nokia or somebody else?

  • AAM lists installed apps as "Install" still

I've used AAM to install all the applications on my Win 7 machine, but everytime I reboot everything bar a few apps (photoshop, acrobat & fireworks) seems to relist in AAM as "Install" rather than "up to date".
I can see the apps are there in the file system but their icons arent displaying in the windows start menu and in AAM they simply say install again as if I need to install them.
I've done this 3 times now and only Photoshop and Fireworks seem to stay listed as up to date.
Considering how long it takes to download all the apps this has taken nearly 2 days now just to get up and running let alone use the apps!
Also Why aren't the touch apps for android included in creative cloud price and available for download!?!

This doesnt resolve the issue. I'm still getting the apps listed as "install" - I'm trying an install again of those apps with the new patched version to see if this resolves the issue after this...
    UPDATE: Following Day...
So I had to reinstall the apps again with the new patched version - did this (to be on the safe side) one by one, then restarting machine after each and checking and applying any updates and restarting again until I had finally installed all apps.
They seem to be sticking now and visible in AAM correctly - so seems to work - taken 3 days to do this though!
Why oh Why cant adobe put this patch in as standard - not to mention service packs for flash etc being part of the app we all download instead of an endless day of downloading!! Come on adobe - you can do better than this!

  • Creative Cloud application manager shows none of my installed apps

I've searched through more threads in the community than I care to remember but I'm still none the wiser ... so here goes:
I have a mix of CC apps installed (Encore CS6, Premiere CC, Photoshop CC & CC2014 and more) some for quite a while. Suddenly, a few days ago the CC apps manager decided that I have none installed. This is what I've tried so far (I'm on Win7 Ultimate 64-bit):
    1) Deleted the %AppData%/Local/Adobe/AAMUpdater directory. Didn't help
    2) Uninstalled and re-installed CC Desktop app. Instead of the Install button next to all the apps I now see Trial! A restart seemed to fix that but still it's pretending I have nothing installed
    3) Renamed the opm.db file in %AppData%/Local/Adobe/OOBE. No change even after another re-install of CC Desktop app.
    4) Quit the App Manager opened Illustrator CC 2014 and checked for Updates (this seems to fire up Adobe Application Manager but maybe not the full-blown CC desktop app, not sure).
    5) Uninstalled and re-installed the CC Desktop app. Before launching it I open Encore CS6 and check for updates. When I launch the CC desktop app it now decides that it wants to install Premiere Pro CS6 for me! I disagree and close the CC desktop app.
    6) I open a few more apps and check for updates. Re-open CC desktop and ... no installed app listed (but at least it doesn't try to install Premiere CS6 any more).
I noticed one thing: when I check for updates from within an app and click on Preferences from within the Adobe Application Manager window it shows me the correct list of installed applications. So the information on what apps are installed are on my stystem somewhere. Somehow, this abomination of an app that is CC Desktop can't read it.
I have read posts about the CC Cleaner tool. Don't even go there. Un-installing all my apps just to get CC desktop to work is putting the cart before the horse. Apart from the time and download allowance involved in that I also have no confidence that the CC desktop app will offer all the versions of apps other than the latest CC2014 releases. I still need Encore CS6 and I haven't tried all the 2014 versions yet on my existing projects, so I need to have the CC versions installed in parallel. After all, that was the whole point of the CC desktop app initially installed the latest release in addition of existing apps and not upgrading them.
I apologise for the somewhat lengthy post but I'm hoping it may save time in the long run.
    Any suggestions gratefully received.
    Many thanks

Similar problem just happened to me with the Creative Cloud Update 1.7.1.418—slightly different so I thought I'd share. I have multiple Adobe Creative Cloud programs installed on my computer, all working just fine. I updated the Cloud App to the latest version and then it shows me that I have only one program installed! All my previously installed programs (Photoshop and the like) still work but show as "install" instead of "Up to date". Initially I thought I'd have to re-install the Cloud app or recreate the OPM data base but then I noticed that some of the Cloud app preferences (Apps > Settings > App Language) were different to what I had set previously. I use English (International) language, the update had reverted the app back to English (North American). I flicked back to my previous language and bam, all my apps now show as being installed correctly.

  • App List Remembering Location issue

I can't seem to figure this out. Before the Froyo update, I was able to scroll through my app list, click on an app that starts with say an "L", exit the app, go back to my app list and be in the same position of the "L" apps. But now, after the froyo update the app list always resets to the beginning of the list starting with "A's". It's more annoying than an issue and a coworker got the Epic from Sprint and his phone works fine. Any ideas on how to get the app list to remember my location when scrolling and exiting? Thanks!!

hello. I also noticed this as well right after the 2.2 update. from what i have noticed is that if you open the app drawer and scroll to an app and select it and then when its closed the app drawer will reopen at the top of the drawer. but if you open the app drawer and scroll to any point in the app drawer and then close out and return to the homescreen and then again reopen the app drawer it will go right back to the point that you scroll down to. I`m assuming that once you select an app it will restart the app drawer from the top but by not selecting an app it assumes that an operation started hasn`t completed yet and remains in the position last left but thats just an uneducated guess at best. i have yet to find a setting that allows for customization of the app drawer.

  • How do I get the app to install with Configurator?

Trying to set up a few iPads with all the same apps etc.  Have a VPP account (just started in Canada, whoot!), have purchased the apps, have the spreadsheets.
Instructions for Configurator say to import the app, and then later when installing the app import the VPP spreadsheet to authorize installation.  So I have to have the actual app on my computer in order to add it to configurator.
So how am I supposed to get the app?  I don't get a copy when I pay for the codes in the VPP store.  The redemption code link in the spreadsheet doesn't work with the apple id used for VPP - just says "this apple account is a vpp only account and cannot access the Apple Store" or words to that effect.
Do I have to burn one of my redemption codes just to download the app through some other regular apple account?  Do I have to budget for one extra code for every app just to download the app so I can administer it through Configurator?  That can't be right....
    Jaso

    Hi Jaso,
Here's how I've been doing it using the latest Apple Configurator 1.1.2.
First, go into iTunes and authorize with an Apple ID (iTunes -> Store -> Authroize this computer). It doesn't have to be a VPP Apple ID…just an ordinary Apple ID used to associate with the app. Use one of the VPP codes to download the app. It will go to ~/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications. These apps will be linked to the Apple ID you authorized in iTunes. Next go into Apple Configurator and add the apps on the Prepare -> Apps screen. When you try to add the app in AC (clicking on the "+" at the bottom of the screen), you should be prompted to enter an Apple ID and password (see screenshot below).
It will say that "This Apple ID will be used to redeem VPP codes…" It is NOT the Apple ID used to purchase the VPP codes… The VPP codes can be redeemed by any Apple ID.
You must enter the same Apple ID and password that you used to download the app in iTunes, and you should be good to go. You will receive another prompt stating that a paid app has been imported. Click OK.
Now in the Apps screen you should see your paid app listed. On the right side of the app you will see a button with a "0" listed. That's how many VPP codes you have. Click on the "0" button. In the next window, click on Import Redemption Codes in the lower left corner. Navigate to your .xls file of VPP codes and click Open. You are now ready to use those codes on your group of iPads. You should get credited back the one VPP code you used to download it initially.
Hope this answers your question Good luck!!!

  • Creative Cloud app (installer) does not show all installed apps - do I get updates?

    Hi,
with the installer, I've installed CC-versions of several apps (InDesign, Lightroom, PS, Premiere etc). They all work as expected, and start registered to me etc.
When I now open the Creative Cloud app, I see only "Photoshop CC" listed under "Your apps".
On the "Home" tab, I only see one activity; namely the update of "Creative Cloud" 12 minutes ago.
    1) Do I get upgrades for the other installed apps regardless? (nothing over the last few weeks, at least - been like this for some time)
    2) How can I get the installer in sync with installed versions, without reinstalling the individual apps? (takes time, have done it once already, sigh!)
    Addl. info;
On my first install, I accidentaly got localized (Norwegian) versions of the apps (due to installer defaulting to OS language/locale, I guess). Locale also affects keyboard shortcuts, and that confused me so much (muscle memory since Photoshop 3), so I had to *reinstall*. (Searched forums, no way to change locale except first change in Creative Cloud installer, then reinstall all apps).
Anyways; I did this, got English versions (with English shortcuts, phew!), and I had the reinstalled apps in the Creative Cloud app for quite some time. At some update, they got lost.
    Best regards,
    Henrik

    Hey Pete,
I'm not sure why Acrobat XI is not recognized. It is on my system. Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling it.
You can uninstall through the OS
Control Panel > Programs & Features
and then reinstall it through the Creative Cloud app or https://creative.adobe.com/products

  • Installed Apps not showing in list - Windows 8, No...

I have a new Nokia 620 running Windows 8. I have installed a number of apps and only around half of them show in the app list. I know that they have properly installed because the show up in the memory as installed apps and when I have tried to reinstall them through WIndows Store, I am unable because only the 'Share' button is available.
Most of the apps which are not showing are childrens games/learning apps.
There is no 'preferances' option in settings - store. This is the only solution I have been able to find but it is not available on my phone.
How do I make these apps visible - and if this is not possible then how do I uninstall them given that they are not visible but taking up space?!
    Thanks in advance.

I've had the same issue, on and off, since Adobe CC launched.
Sometimes the apps are installed, sometimes the CC launcher suggests I install things that are already installed.
Today it signed me out for no apparent reason and now offers me a Photoshop CC update but suggests I install the Lightroom that has been there all along.
It just seems like bug-ridden software to me.
This is not for the enterprise version but I imagine these forums are filled with the same broad issue over and over and over again.
You might get updates, you might not, this is a feature.

  • List installed apps

I've searched for what I'm after many times with no luck. Simply put, I would like a list of the apps in my iTunes library and alongside each app, I'd like to see whether or not it is installed on my iPhone or iPad. I can get all of the information separately, but not together. Why you ask? Because I'd like to clean up my iTunes library as I've got lots of apps that I've tried but will never use again.
I can see a list of all the apps in my iTunes library in iTunes of course and I can output that list as a pdf so the data resides somewhere but I don't know where. I can see the list of installed apps in iTunes of course, but it's not a list where I can easily capture or list all the names. I can look at the contents of manifest.plist in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/<some code>/manifest.plist. It's in a form of XML but I don't have the technical knowledge to extract the app names.
I'm a business application developer but never learned low level languages (started with COBOL and went into 4th generation languages). From a business appliccation perspective, if I could get the iTunes data in a one row per app structure and the installed app data in a one row per app structure, I could load both lists into database tables and product whatever reports I need.
Any suggestions? Have I missed something obvious (wouldn't be the first time).
    Thanks in advance
    Bob

Thanks cheonweb. I never thought of this. In taking a look at what I have in my iTunes app library, I have 1326 apps listed. However I have 1347 .ipa files in Mobile Applications. I then tried to look inside a .ipa file and it turns out it's a form of zip file. I then searched to find how to extract information from the file, specifically I wanted the app name, as opposed to the file name. I found a technique here:
    http://www.earthinfo.org/extract-metadata-from-apple-ipa-files/
I tested it on a single file and it works. So now I can get the app name correclated to the .ipa file name. Then, having cheonweb's idea, I also found an expansion of that idea here
    http://blog.macsales.com/17825-an-easy-way-to-clear-out-unused-ios-apps-from-itu nes-11
My plan is something like this:
Extract the app name from each .ipa file and record the app name and the file name. I'll also record the app names that iTunes has listed.
Next I'll make a copy of everything in Mobile Applications. I can always download again, but you never know.
Then, making sure that all my devices are detached and not syncing via anything like WiFi, I'll delete all the apps using iTunes. I'll then be able to see what's left over, apps that I probably deleted but didn't say move the file to the trash. I'll extract the app name and the filename and save that for later cross referencing. I'll move these files someplace even though I've already got a backup. Often it's easier to clean things up at the file level.
Next, with an empty Mobile Applications folder and iTunes app list, I'll attach one of my devices and Transfer Purchases. This will give me a list of all the Apps on that device. I'll run the extract again so I've got an app name and file name reference. Then I detach that device. I'll use a file compare utility to ensure that all of the apps on that device were actually in Mobile Applications. I could copy these files to a temp holding area as well.
I'll then delete the apps from iTunes and repeat for each other device I have. I should then have a series of folders with the files originally in iTunes as well as those on each device. I'll also have a file with the app name and file name. I could run a number of text comparisons or load all the data into a database or spread sheet to cross compare.
Looking over this, it may just be easier to do a file to file comparison and use the original extract of app and file name.
This looks like quite a bit of work considering I have 4 devices and in some cases I have to ensure that older versions don't get deleted. I'll have to think about that one.
There may be an easier way, but at least now there's a way. I'll let you know what I end up doing.
