Get iTunes Match OFF MY PHONE please!

Long story short, iTunes Match is a joke and a complete waste of money at this point.  I have 2000+ songs and live DJ sets that it won't upload and it does nothing but crash over and over when trying to install.  I'm over it.  I just want it gone already.  However.. I cannot get it off my iPhone 4s!  Even though I have it turned off in the settings, I'm still getting the cloud icons next to things and whatever wouldn't upload is greyed out in my iPod menu.  I've tried resyncing.. they're all there and on my phone.  I've tried restarting and doing a hard reset.. no luck.
How do I get this junk off my phone and back to how it was before?

Update:
I tried EVERYTHING to get this off of my phone.  Erased stored iTunes data, re-synched, tried the iOS restoring from backup.. everything.  No matter what, it would not let me access non-iCloud stored songs on my phone or even hold other ones locally.  It about ruined our boat day since we use it for music and we go in remote areas where there are no signal.  It was a running joke all day about how bad ITM gargles giant donkey scrotum with everyone making the sound.  Ok, insert <first world problem> here.
The only fix was to completely erase the phone via system restore and upgrade to 5.1.. which.. really ticks me off because there's no *cough* fix for 5.1 yet and my 5.0.1 was doing just fine and was well "updated".
This is such complete garbage.  I've already been on the phone with Apple Care and am in the process of getting a refund.
Stay FAR FAR away from iTunes Match.

  • I cannot get iTunes Match to sync music to my iPhone.  Please help.

Since getting a new iPhone 6, my music is all messed up.
I turned on iTunes Match and it tells me that I have 8886 songs now available in iCloud.   But the songs never appear on my iPhone.  I tried turning iTunes Match off and on but the only thing that appears is a single U2 album.
When I turn on iTunes Match, I get the "Loading iTunes Match" loading screen but the only thing that ever loads is the one U2 album.
I made sure that my Apple ID is the same.
Since it was not working, I turned on iTunes match and it gave me an option to subscribe.   I thought maybe my subscription was up, so I ordered it.   It turns out I already had it and now have subscribed twice and was billed again.
I have tried syncing the phone over and over and same result.   I have turned iTunes Match on and off on both the computer and the iPhone 6 and still the same result.
I can turn off iTunes Match and both devices and pick songs and they do sync.   But the whole point is, is to have iTunes Match work.   I am having the same exact issue with my iPad as well, but I am sure the solution is the same.  I have searched forums but no answer I have read has worked.
    Any advice is great appreciated.
    Brad

Still no solution.  The only album that shows up after turning iTunes Match on, on my iPhone 6 is the US Songs of Innocence album.   This is ridiculous. Have tried over and over, rebooting computer and phone, resetting everything, and still no go.
    Tried:
    1.) Sign off iTunes.
    2.) Turn Genius Off
    3.) Close iTunes
    4.) Open iTunes
    5.) Sign in iTunes
    6.) Turn Genius On
    7.) Turn On iTunes Match

  • Cannot get iTunes Match to work on my i-Phone. Says I am not "subscribed?"

Anyone know how to turn on iTunes Match on an iPhone 4? Keep getting an error message that I am not "subscribed." Thanks!

Confirm that you have subscribed to iTunes Match on your computer.  Then on your phone go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores, confirm that you are signed into the Apple ID you used to subscribe to iTunes Match, then turn iTunes Match and Show All Music to On.
If it still isn't working, turn it off on your phone, go back to iTunes on your computer and turn iTunes Match off (Store>Turn Off iTunes Match).  Then turn it back on and wait for your library to be scanned.  Then turn it back on on your phone again.

  • How can I turn off itunes match on my phone without losing all my playlists?

I have itunes match but want to keep all my music on my iPhone because I travel and don't always have access to the internet.  I upgrades to ios8 and now it seems if I turn off iTunes Match in my phone it get rid of all my playlists.  How can I stop that from happening.  I want my music, and playlist on my phone.

To keep playlists on the phone, create them on the phone
To keep music on the phone, download the tracks before turning off Match.
But turning off Match isn't really necessary. Just turn off Show all music in the music app settings, or do not attempt to play a track that has a cloud icon (i.E. isn't downloaded).

  • After I download a 256 kbps song using ITunes Match, how do I get it to play on my computer at the higher bit rate once I turn ITunes Match off again?

After I download a 256 kbps song from the cloud using ITunes Match, how do I get it to play on my computer once I turn ITunes Match off again? I have been using ITunes Match for awhile now to increase the bit rate on songs to 256 kbps.  Once I download the songs at the new bit rate, I turn off Match because I want to eliminate duplicates. Usually there is no problem. This time, however, 278 of my songs lost their file association and were unplayable unless I locate the song files within my computer.  These are songs purchased from Amazon.  In order to play them again in ITunes (Match is now off), I must locate each song file individually (I've tried to do it in bulk but have not succeeded) but now the bit rate has returned to the lower number BEFORE I matched the song.  I should have never used Match in the first place. Any ideas, anyone?

I discovered that the NEW 256 bit file does reside on my computer, in the ITunes files (My Music/ITunes/ITunes Media/Music.  So I can bring the songs back as 256 kbps, and I have been successful now at locating more than one file at a time, by clicking on the "find other missing files" tab in the popup window.  Previously, I'd been going back to my Amazon files, and not only was I unable to bring back a 256 version, but the popup window would not locate similar files.  So while I wish ITunes Match would automatically associate the ITunes Match file, at least I can retrive the file association without hours and hours of work.

  • Can not get Itunes match to work. It stops on the first step and on my status bar it just says "sending information to apple" this goes on for hours. Help please.

Help please. I cannt get itunes match to work. It just stops on the first step and the status bar continues to say "sending information to apple" for hours. Any ideas?

I am having a similar issue with iTunes Match. It keeps hanging up on the same number of files (11035 of 15455) during STEP 2. I've tried signing out, re-opening iTunes, re-booting, etc. Still comesup stuck for hours. What I also don't understand is why the "iCloud Status" option in "View/View Options" disappears intermittently. It was there when I first booted up this morning and I reviewed all my music files to see if there were any "errors" and there werne't any. But after Match gets stuck on the same file niumber (11035) I 've signed out and re-booted and now the "iCloud Status" check box is missing from "View Options" (only the "iCloud Download" option remains present all the time. Please help. (I've also checked to make sure all the music files are within the suggested bit rate parameters and file type - This is also a brand new iMac out of the box). Running out of troubleshooting ideas and beginning to think this service just doesn't work well.

  • Even turning iTunes Match OFF is a mess

iTunes Match on the desktop = awesome.
    On the iPhone = disaster.
Just a warning to everyone else. IM match is terrible on the iPhone. Playlists don't sync right (if at all), music is terribly slow to download, there's no album art or genius playlists, and it crashed my iPhone numerous times.
So I disabled it, restarted my phone, and synced it back with iTunes to return to manual control. After taking several hours to sync 3000+ songs, most songs still had the cloud icon next to them --> even with iTunes Match OFF. Playing one of them would still try to stream it/download it from the cloud. So I did a restore from last backup. After that completed, I reloaded all my songs AGAIN. Went to launch Music.app - and all I got was a blank white screen for about 10 seconds, and then it crashed. Did a hard reset, same issue. I could not play music on my phone.
Scheduled a genius appointment. Waited at the store for 30 minutes (past my appointment). After a quick diagnosis, he said that springboard was corrupt and I'd have to do a complete factory restore. He even advised against restoring from a backup after that -- he wanted me to start over and manually re-do all my settings and app installations (and lose all my data, saved games etc).
I took a gamble and did a restore, but then restored from a backup too. That seemed to work. I reloaded all my songs, iTunes match is off, and there's no iCloud icon next to any of my songs.
Bottom line - think twice before using iTunes Match on your iPhone. There are definite bugs that need to be sorted out. I literally spent most of Saturday syncing and restoring my phone.
Having said that, I greatly enjoy the service on my desktop - it keeps my work and home iTunes library and sync, and I was able to replace tons of old rips with fresh 256 kpbs tracks. But I won't be renewing if Apple doesn't get the mobile experience fixed.

I experienced the same "disfunction" when turning iTunes Match off on my iPhone and iPad - there were still all kinds of stale files and links to the "cloud" still hangning around on my devices. Also, after turning Match off on the device, when I connected the device to iTunes on my mac, looking at the "Music" folder on the iPhone and iPad within iTunes still showed all kinds of "greyed out" files (with song entries often duplicated 2 or 3 times) that could not be deleted - even when "manage music manually" was selected.
I was able to clean things up using the OPs suggestion of turning iTunes Match off on the devices and restoring from back up, so thank you for that.
All in all, I concur with the OP - iTunes match is fantastic between computers, but with iOS devices it is currently not ready for prime time.

  • Cant find ITunes Match on my phone

I downloaded the ITunes Match on my laptop but I cant find Match on my iphone3gs. Ive got iCloud on my phone and that works ok with other apps.
I've gone through all the updates and am sure Ive got the latest operating system.
    Help please...

I am onboard a US Navy ship, so I can't connect my personal device to the internet right now.  My iPhone has iTunes Match enabled, but obviously, can't access the cloud right now.  I have my laptop, which has all of my media files saved to the hard drive.  I would like to be able to copy music from my laptop to my iPhone so I can use it as a music player at my desk.  (I am accessing this site from my work computer.)
When I try to sync or copy music from my laptop to my iPhone, it does not allow me to copy the music over.  When I try to disable iTunes Match on my phone, I do not have any iTunes Match options in the settings app, or in the music app.  In the settings app, I've checked under General, iCloud, and Music sections.  Under the Music section, my only options are Shake to Shuffle, Sound Check, EQ, Volume Limit, Lyrics & Podcast Info, and Group By Album Artist.  There are no media-related options under iCloud (I am unable to access iCloud Account Information since I do not have internet connectivity).  Wi-Fi Sync is enabled as well.  I have connected my iPhone to my laptop using an Ad-hoc Wi-Fi connection with no issues (my iPhone shows up in iTunes on my laptop).
In iTunes on my laptop, there are no options associated with iTunes Match.  When reviewing my iPhone with iTunes on my laptop, the Music tab only has the Voice Memos option.  If I drag some music files from my music library to my iPhone, I get an error stating that iTunes Match is enabled.

  • I downloaded an app off the store which said it was free and part of the 5 year promotion. I've been charged for the app by the store. I don't want the app and there's no one to speak to about it. Who can I call and how can I get the app off my phone?

    Who can I call?
How can I get the app off my phone?
How do I get my money back from something I wouldn't have ordered?

You cannot call anyone.  You contact them as everyone else does:  http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
You delete the app as you do any other app.  Hold an icon until they wiggle.  Tap the "x".  This is covered in the manual.

  • Can't get iTunes Match on Windows

Has anyone ever been able to get iTunes Match on Windows?
According to information from Apple it is possible.
According to my real life experiences, it is NOT possible.
    I'm using this URL:
    https://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/
Clicking on the "Subscribe..." button opens up iTunes and then pops up this dialog:
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
Yeah, well, I tried it again. I tried on a Windows XP machine, I tried it on a Windows 7 machine, and on a Windows 8 machine. All freshly installed. Same results on all machines.
I emailed Apple support, they gave me standard replies like  "Restart your router" and "Check your firewall".
I reeeally don't think that's the issue here. My servers have been running web, ftp, mail, games, and a BUNCH of other services 24/7 for years. It's what I do. It's what I've done for 20 years.
Is there anyone that can give me a real answer?
    Best regards,
    J.

    Hi there
I did as you suggested, step by step and I still have exacly the same problem.
When I click on "Store", "Turn on iTunes Match", iTunes crashes and I constantly get an error message "iTunes has stopped working".
This problem is still there despite upgrading to the latest version of ITunes for Windows.
    Any other ideas?

Do you guys use the same computer with itunes on it? And the best way to get them off is to go into the Setting>Itunes & App Store and sign out of her appleid if it's listed there. Also just delete all of the apps from her appleid off your phone.

Bad mistake. You shouldn't have used your Apple ID on his phone. And you made it worse because now the contacts are gone, as you deleted them from your phone, they got deleted on iCloud. Your husband should have his Apple ID.
There is really no way of recovering the deleted contacts unless you backed up using iTunes and even then you will only be able to recover those contacts that were on a call list. Read here:
