Get last error

Recently I got a Serial Device Error from an runnig program. I got a popup window
with two choices: continue or stop. When I pressed the continue button, the program
went on working without any problem. The program was working about 350 hours
before this error occured. I can't remember the error code so I was wondering if
there is a kind of error-logfile in a temp directory to get the exact error code.

I also use something like this in most of my programs however the More information you put onto the error string the more information you get back out. This can be expanded to get timestamps, etc etc.

I was having this error too. The good news is I was able to fix it fairly easily. Here's how I did it:
1: Find the directory in windows explorer (C:\Program Data)
2: Right click on the 34BE82C4-E596-4e99-A191-52C6199EB69 directory and select properties.
3: Select the 'Security' tab.
4: In the 'Group or user names' box, there should be the following entries;
                                                                                                          SYSTEM
                                                                                                          Administrators (xxxx\Administrators)
                                                                                                          Users (xxxx\Users)
                                             (where xxxx is the name of your computer)
If these user names do not exist, create them by clicking on 'Edit' and then 'Add' and typing in the user name.
5: Set the permissions for these user names (using the 'Edit' button) as follows;
               SYSTEM - check all boxes except 'Special Permissions'
               Administrators (xxxx\Administrators) - check all boxes except 'Special Permissions'
               Users (xxxx\Users) - check Read & execute, List folder contents and Read.
6: Rember to click 'Apply' after setting up each user name, and when you are done, just OK your way back out of the properties dialog box.
7. Now try to update itunes.
This fix worked for me
I'm running windows 7, btw.

I am trying to update my iTunes but I keep receiving the following error: GetLastError: 87
I have also attempted to uninstall iTunes and reload a fresh copy. After several attempts to uninstall, I was successful.
However, now iTunes will not install & I keepreceiving this error.

I am trying to resize disk space on parallels 6 for windows XP under configure Hardrive and I get the error resizing failed unable to resize last volume the file system of this volume might be damaged or not supported? I am on a Mac using Parallels 6

I have been trying to increase my disk space for windows xp on my Imac and I am running parallels 6. before opening windows I go into configure in parallels and open the hard drive and try to move the allotted disk space from 32 gig to 64 or any other increased gig and then apply and I get the error message: resizing failed unable to resize last volume. The file system of this volume might be damaged or not supported. How do I increase the size?? I just also did a disk repair utility with Apple on the Apple side of my IMAC. Please Help!! I had uninstalled SQL server on the windows side and needed to uncompress files to install this and then I ran short on disk space.

This sounds to me that your Parallels XP file system is corrupted and not the OSX file system.
Have you checked the XP file system while running the Parallels XP yet ?

What do you mean by "get" and "transfer"?
If the shift register is not what you want, use a plan tunnel instead.
Typically, programmers are interested in the first, not last, error.
Can you show us your code so we have a better idea what you are trying to?

You ask: "So why didn't you provide the same?"
It just didn't occur to me to do so.
My intent was to report that there was at least one other user encountering a similar problem. It occurred to me that Adobe might be interested in determining the scale of a problem which causes one of their best known products to fail to run quite so completely after a clean install
I also see that I misreported the OS I'm running - its Windows 8.
If there is further information I can provide which might be helpful in determining a solution, if someone could be specific about what would be helpful, then I will try to respond appropriately.

The X230 has Intel HD 4000 graphics support built in to the processor. Windows was pretty stubborn about refusing driver updates, but I just managed to get drivers from the Intel site to install and Photoshop is now running, so hopefully I need not try your patience any further.
In case anyone else has a similar problem and stumbles on this the way to install the driver that worked was to:
- download the zip version of the generic driver from Intel
- use the 'have disk' option in the windows dialog to install the driver - other paths in the UI did not work with windows refusing to install the driver.

Trashing the preference file may help, as I've outlined in the topic I've linked to. Otherwise, follow the steps regarding removing 3rd party QuickTime components. Also, see the final post by the OP (EEye87) regarding how his problem was resolved (a combination of trashing the preference file and the 3ivx component).

I have exactly the same issue as described above : I installed the update 5.1.1 on my iphone 3GS and since then, I can not turn it on anymore. In Itunes, I get an error 37 when I am doing a restauration and it stops.
This error has nothing to do with firewall : I tried to restore the phone on several computers, including in an Apple reseller and it did not work anywhere.
I spent several hours on phone with the hotline from Apple which arrived to the conclusion that it is a hardware issue, but the phone was working perfectly fine until I installed this update!

Had the same problem and the same message -- was suddenly unable to access icloud apps on my pc, also using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer. After several days of pulling my hair out, decided to try a different browser and was able to get in by using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. Hope this helps.
